After school lunch

I entered my next class and walked up to my seat where I saw a white envelope chilling on my desk. I frowned and looked around to see who put it there, but no one seemed to be aware of the envelope. I picked up the envelope and started searching for a name on it, but it was completely blank. "Help" was the only word was written on it at the back of the envelope.

My brows furrowed more. I opened the envelope and the paper slipped out. I grabbed the paper and started reading. My eyes widen when I saw my name in there.

"Y/N, we need your help. Kai has been missing since yesterday. He hasn't been home all day and we think that he has been kidnaped by certain people. We need your help immediately because if we don't find him right now then who knows what will happen to him. So please help us because you are the only person we can trust. You are the only person who can help us find Kai.

We are begging you to help us. If you don't help us now, then we might lose Kai forever and I'm sure we both don't want that so please help us find Kai. If you decided to help us, then please come to the Xvi store near your school right now. And please don't tell anyone about this if you want Kai safe, not even your family. It's a request.

I hope to see you soon. Just know that you are the only person who can save his life"

My heart dropped when I finished reading the letter. What the heck is this? Is someone pranking me?

I looked around once again, but everyone looked busy in themselves so I don't think it was them pranking me.

Does that mean this is true?

I quickly pulled out my phone and called Kai, but his phone was unreachable. I tried once again but the result was the same. Now I could feel fear creeping up on me. Now I was feeling scared for Kai.

What if my brothers are behind his disappearance?

There was a huge possibility that they might have done this because Kai told me about their truth. He wanted me to take me away from them so there was a chance that BTS was behind Kai's disappearance and if that's the case then I have to do something quickly before Kai also disappears like BamBam.

But what should I do?

I was lost. I didn't know what to do. I didn't even know if I should trust this letter or not. And I definitely can't talk to BTS because if they are real mafia then it's dangerous. Confronting them can put my and mom's lives in danger, so it was a big no-no.

After some thinking, I decided to go to the Xvi store. So, I sneaked out of my classroom and went out. I grabbed my pepper spray and hid it in my front pocket. Just in case if need it to defend myself.

I entered the Xvi store. It was empty. Only the average-looking middle-aged man was standing at the counter. I looked around in confusion because I didn't know what to do from here.

Guy: Are you here to meet someone?

Y/N: Um yeah.

Guy: Come, I'll show you the way.

I hesitated before following him to the back of the store. This whole time I had my hand over my pocket where I hid pepper spray. That guy knocked on some door and the door opened, revealing two more middle-aged men but these guys looked fit with their toned muscles and athletic bodies.

Guy 2: Thank you for coming, Y/N.

The guy said in relief while I stood there confused.

Guy 3: Come in, Y/N.

Y/N: Who are you guys?

Guy 2 looked around before answering my question.

Guy 2: We are undercover cops.

My eyes widen.

Y/N: What?!

I looked at them with disbelief.

Guy 2 came and showed me a badge to prove to me that he was a real cop but the thing was I don't know what a real badge looks like so I can't judge that it was a real badge or not.

Guy 3: Now let's quickly go in before someone sees you with us.

He walked into the room and behind him guy 2 and I followed. While guy 1 walked back to the counter. Inside it looked like a storage room but there were tables and 4 chairs in the middle of the room. They took me there and asked me to sit on a chair. I hesitantly took a seat as I kept looking at them with wary. Cops or not I still wanted to keep my guards up in case if anything unfortunate happens.

Y/N: So... Um, can you guys tell me what is going on here?

Guy 2: Y/N, we need your help to find Kai.

Y/N: Um, how do you know him?

Guy 2: Right, let me explain everything first. I'm Kai's uncle, EJ. And he's DK.

He said pointing at guy 3.

EJ: Kai has been living with me since he moved here. But yesterday he didn't come home, and it is not like him. We tried to track his phone, but we are unable to track him. We don't know where he is right now. And we think that your family is behind it and that is why we need your help.

Y/N: What?!

This is not good!

Y/N: Do you have any proof?

DK: We don't have proof yet but we know that Kai told you about the real Kim family yesterday so there is only one possibility that BTS kidnapped Kai.

Y/N: No, that's not true. My brothers won't do that.

I knew my brothers could do that, but I was having a hard time accepting it in front of them.

DK scoffed.

DK: Brothers, huh?

He said it like he was mocking me.

DK: Do you even know who your real brothers are?

He asked walking toward me like a predator, his eyes were glaring deep into my soul. I stayed quiet because I didn't know the answer.

DK: That's what I thought.

He laughed once again.

DK: Your brothers are crazy psychopaths. They kill people for fun. And your dad, he's the ringmaster of this bloody circus. He controls all your crazy brothers.

Hatred and disgust were dripping out from his mouth when he talked about BTS and dad.

My heart was now beating loudly against my ribcage. My hands felt cold.

Y/N: No, that's not true.

I whispered out quietly.

DK was about to say something but EJ stepped in.

EJ: He's not lying, Y/N. I know it's hard for you to accept this, but this is the truth. Your family has been running a mafia business for many years. They are the most feared people in the underworld. They have killed many people for their own benefit.

His last sentence echoed in my brain. How is that possible?! That's not true! That can't be true! My family can't be a killer! They can't be mafia! But what if this is true? My breathing was getting shallower. My hands started shaking.

Y/N: D-Do you h-have any p-proof?

DK came and dropped photos of people on the table in front of me. There were at least 30 pictures.

DK: We don't have solid proof, but these are people who went missing after their last meeting with your so-called family.

I looked at the scattered photos on the table. They all looked unfamiliar, but I gasped when my eyes landed on a photo of Harry, my mom's guy friend. He was mom's close friend but a few months ago he moved to the UK. Then what is his photo doing here?

Y/N: Why... why is his photo here?

I asked slowly pointing at a photo of Harry.

EJ: He was last seen with your dad's men before he disappeared.

DK: I can guaranty that your psycho dad has killed him because that guy was your mom's friend.

Y/N: What!

EJ: He's not the only guy missing. These 3 guys are also missing who were your mom's clients.

He said showing me three men's pics.

Y/N: I... I don't understand.

DK: What you don't understand?

He asked me in an irritated tone.

DK: Can't you see that your so-called dad is obsessed with your mother. He has killed every guy who tried to get close to your mom.

I was horrified. This was all sounded crazy. My mind was not able to grasp this new info.

EJ: And now they are doing the same with guys who come close to you. First, they made BamBam disappear and now Kai—

DK: Don't forget the Blackstone gang.

EJ nodded before continuing.

EJ: And that is why we need your help to find Kai quickly.

Y/N: I-Is m-my—

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves before continuing.

Y/N: Is my stepfamily is really mafia?

I asked slowly, afraid to hear their answer.

DK: Are you really that dumb or are you pretending to be dumb?

DK asked in a harsh tone.

DK: Can't you see all these people who have been missing because of your family?!

He asked pointing at pics.

DK: Can't you see how everyone is scared of your family? Can't you see how your brothers act like gangsters at school all the time? Or is it really hard for your small brain to add two plus two together?

I glared at him.

Y/N: I'm sorry that I'm having a hard time accepting that the people I live with are mafia! What would you do if you find out that the people you love dearly turned out to be killers?! Tell me!

DK: I would send them to jail.

He said glaring back at me.

His answer made me go quiet. I looked away from his strong glare.

Y/N: Easy for you to say.

I whispered it out.

DK: It's not hard if you care about innocent people.

Y/N: They would never hurt innocent people.

I argued back.

EJ: Then why did they kidnapped Kai? He's innocent. That kid left everything for you and came here when he found out that your mom has married to mafia guy. He came here to save you even though he knew how dangerous it is. And now look at him, he's nowhere to be found!

Y/N: What! He knew all this time who BTS was?! How?!

EJ looked down, avoiding my eyes.

EJ: I found out that you and Kai were close when I was visiting his family, so I asked him to join our team as an undercover informer and he immediately agreed because he really cares for you.

Y/N: Are you crazy?! How can you ask such a thing to him?! He's barely 18!

EJ: I know it was not right, but we needed someone to get close to BTS. We have been trying to find evidence against Kim for many years, but it was hard because many of his men work in government or as cops, making it hard for us to collect evidence against him and that is why we decided to use Kai. We thought that since Kai was your good friend, it will be easy for him to get your brothers' trust. We wanted him to join BTS's team to collect all information for us so that way we can send them to jail and he can save you and your mom from them.

DK: But that dumb kid blew away our plan. We told him not to tell you anything but that love-sick guy couldn't stay quiet and blurted out everything in front of you.

EJ glared at DK.

EJ: It's because he cares for her. He thought it was the only way to keep her safe and maybe he was right.

Y/N: Huh?

EJ looked at me with a sympathetic look.

EJ: From our informers, we found out that many gangs are keeping their eyes on you. They want to... harm you to get to the Kims. They are all waiting for the right time to strike. We think there is something big that is going to happen in the underworld. That is why Kai wanted you to get away from this city as soon as possible because he was scared for you.

I was shocked. Kai wanted to keep me safe all this time and I was doubting him. He knew it would be dangerous, but he still came here for ME. I felt my heart getting warm and heavy from all the emotions.

EJ: Will you help us find Kai?

I nodded.

Y/N: Yes.

EJ: Oh thank you! Once we find him, I'll arrange something so that he, you and your mom can leave this city as soon as possible safely.

DK grunted and spoke up.

DK: Let's just first focus on finding him.

EJ: Right. Y/N, can you find out all the locations that Kim's own in this city? I think he is hiding Kai at one of his properties.

Y/N: Um, okay.

I answered him unconfident. I didn't know how to find that info.

DK: But be careful. Don't let others get suspicious or else they might kill you.

I lose my composure hearing his last sentence.

Y/N: Do you really think they can kill me?

I asked in a whisper. I know BTS is unpredictable and they are capable of many things but are they really capable of killing me? After all, I'm their sister. Yesterday they did say they love me and will always love me, so can they really kill me after everything?

DK: Of course! They are heartless monsters. If they find out that you are going behind their back to help us, then they will kill you on the spot.

EJ: DK! Stop scaring her!

He then turned to me.

EJ: Nothing like that will happen, Y/N. Don't worry.

He said in a soft voice.

DK: I'm not scaring her! I'm just telling the truth! She needs to be careful around them if she wants to save Kai and herself.

Y/N: They are not heartless monsters.

I blurted out.

DK: Huh?

Y/N: They love me. They won't kill me.

I protested. For some reason, I didn't want him to be right. I wanted him to prove wrong.

DK looked at me shocked before laughing like manic.

DK: You are delusional if you think that they are capable of love. They didn't even love their parents then how can they love you? Some of them have even killed their own parents.

Y/N: WHAT?!

DK: Yeah! They are not your average criminals, sweetheart. They are psychos and that is why they are dangerous. You don't know what will tick them off to lose their control and that is why you need to be very careful around them if you don't want to end up dead.

EJ: DK, that's enough!

EJ then faced me.

EJ: Y/N, don't think too much. Just act normal around them okay. Don't let them know that you know about their truth and you will be safe.

Y/N: I don't think I can do it.

I whispered. I was scared. After hearing DK made me rethink everything. I don't think I can now go in front of BTS without getting all scared and anxious.

EJ: Y/N, you can do it. Don't listen to DK. Just think about Kai and your mom. If you want to keep them safe, then you have to do it. I know you can do it, Y/N.

I looked at him with hopeful eyes.

Y/N: Really?

EJ: Yes, Y/N, you are stronger than you think. You can do it. You just have to find a location and then I will take care of everything else, okay?

I nodded.

EJ: Good. By the way, keep this phone. Call me from this phone when you find information or if you need any help, okay? I have already saved our numbers in it.

I took an old model flip phone from him. It was smaller than a normal phone so it will be easy to hide it.

EJ: Now you should get going before they find out that you are missing from the school.

I nodded again and stood up.

DK: Good luck.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear him. I didn't know what I was doing or what I was gonna do. I felt lost and confused. I opened the door and walked out of it. But I stopped in mid-track when I saw BTS standing in front of me, arm crossed. Their eyes staring at me with no emotions. I froze on my spot under their cold gaze.

Jin: What are you doing here, Y/N?

He asked in the coldest tone ever.

Now I'm dead.
