Chapter 3

Waiting in the living room, I'm sitting patiently for Jeremiah to get here. It was Saturday and he said we were going to hang out at my house today.

Usually when we hang out, it would be at one of our houses just watching Netflix. Although we are just staying at my house, I still did my makeup and shaved.

A knock is finally heard from the front door and i quickly jump up to get it. Even though I am in a hurry, no one else is home this weekend.

My mom decided to go to the beach with her new boyfriend. I had the option to go, however, i told her i didn't feel the best. In all honesty, it was because I wanted to stay in town to hang out with Jeremiah.

"Hey beautiful." I hear Jeremiah say as I open the front door. He stands in front of me with a pair of black joggers and a plain white t-shirt.

No matter what, Jeremiah always seemed to look nice. He never wore anything that had more than two colors on it, yet he was more stylish than anyone else at school.

"Hey." i say back shyly, moving slightly so he can enter the house.

Without another thought, Jeremiah takes my invite and comes inside. He gives me a hug and starts to walk to my room.

I close the door behind him and i follow him up the stairs. When we entered my room, I closed my door and locked it.

Jeremiah turns to me with a smirk on his face. He takes everything out of his pockets and puts it on my nightstand. "How are you doing baby?"

"i'm good, I missed you." I tell him as i take a seat on my bed.

Netflix was previously loaded on the screen, and I ask Jeremiah if he wanted to watch anything in particular.

He seems to think about it for a moment but then shakes his head. "Pick a scary movie, i'll be right back. Is it alright if i use your bathroom?"

"of course," I tell him. I slightly chuckle at his question and he disappears deeper into my room, towards my connected bathroom.

When I hear the bathroom door close, I look over onto my dresser and I see a light illuminating on the ceiling. I walk over to the direction the light is coming and I notice it's Jeremiah's phone alerting him he got a message.

Trying not to be nosy, I step back from the phone. I trust Jeremiah and i respect his privacy. When his phone goes off a second time, my curiosity gets the better of me and I take a glance at the messages.

Seeing her name and message come across the screen, I wish I never looked at his phone.

thank u for last night 😩

i didn't know u were that big 😉🍆

Immediately my heart drops to my stomach and I automatically knew what the messages were referring to.

Hearing a flush in the bathroom, I lock Jeremiah's phone back and sit on the bed. Going to the "horror" section of Netflix, I click the first movie that popped up. Just in time too, as I hear a flush come from beyond.

Coming out of the bathroom, Jeremiah looks at me with a smile and he goes to grab his phone.

I see him look at his message and quickly type something back.

I look down and at him, i'm not going to tell him I know.

"Anna" I hear faintly but knowing I'm half awake, I'm probably hearing things. "Anna!" I hear a little more louder and then a tapping sound on my window becomes such more apparent. Now, this has to be my imagination. There couldn't be anyone knocking on my bedroom window at 3 in the morning. "Anna!" I hear one more time until I finally decide to get up and see who's calling me.

Slowly walking up to my window, I pull back my curtains and I don't see anything. I stand there for a few seconds and still see nothing. Maybe I'm just hearing things. I go to close the curtain but then finally, I see someone standing next to the window. It seems to be a guy in a hoodie. He looks sort of beat up and I almost ran, but then I see a glimpse of that black eye.

"Justin?" I question, quickly looking around to see how can I unlock the window. I haven't known this guy for more than a day and already he's sneaking back in the house through my window. If I remember correctly, Im pretty sure he's old enough to go in and out of the house without getting in trouble.

Opening it up for him, I take a second to notice that he has to jump up about five feet just to get inside the window. Nonetheless, I open it and stand back, hoping he doesn't need any kind of help getting into the house.

And just as I thought, not a moment later Justins upper body comes through the opening, as well as the rest of himself. With just a slight grunt when he landed on the floor, he looks at me and gives me a slight nod.

"Justin wha-" I started to ask him but he got to the bedroom door. Opening it quietly, he steps out and down the hall into the abyss.

"Oh no." I thought. This boy is not about to wake me up in the middle of the night, have me open my bedroom window for him, and just walk out like nothing ever happened. My first instinct was to go back to bed but I really wanted to know what was happening so instead, I ended up walking out that same door he just did.

From earlier of the house tour, I can recall that Justins room was almost right next to mine, so I walk over and take a deep breath. Instead of knocking, I just walk into the room and I knew right away that I shouldn't of done that.

There's Justin, standing face away from the door- Shirtless. I can immediately feel my face get red with embarrassment but don't say anything.

Without turning around, he continues to put on a new shirt and finally says something to me. "like what you see?"

"Most definitely not." I remark back, which makes him finally turn around as soon as he finishes with his shirt.

"Oh?" he asks in a questioning tone, and I can feel myself be slightly heated from the way he said that. "Is that why you're blushing right now?"

"I'm not blushing" I try to retort, but I didn't even believe myself. "and even if I was, you can't see me in here. Its too dark."

"Anna, I can feel you blushing from here. Now why did you follow me to my room?"

I look at him as if he asked a dumb question. "What do you mean why did i follow you? Why did you knock on my window, climb through it, and walk away like it was nothing?"

Justin let's put a deep chuckle and turns around to his dresser. He pulls out a shirt from the top drawer, and some black underwear from the drawer next to it.

"I left my keys inside." He said simply, shrugging his shoulders at his response.

"And you couldn't call your dad or something? Hell, you couldn't even knock on the front door?"

"I knew you'd be up." He says nonchalantly. "Now i'ma go shower, wanna come?"

"Ew gross." I state, sticking my tongue out at him. Although it's dark and he wouldn't be able to see, it made me feel better to do. "Not in a million years do i want to shower with you."

"Suit yourself." he shrugs again. Justin walks closer to me, and I step back until i hit his door with the back of my heel.

He leans down, close enough for me to feel his breath on the side of my cheek. I shudder at the sudden cold front and hold my breath.

Why was Justin this close to me?

Justin must of felt the tension rising between us because he lets out another one of those low chuckles.

"Calm down, i'm just grabbing a towel." He whispers in my ear. He grabs a neatly folded towel on the built-in shelf behind the door.

I let out a sigh and my body starts to loosen up as he pulls his face away from my neck. From this angle, I can see his black eye a lot more and I can't help but wonder how he got it.

"Last chance..." Justin sings, slowly making his way to his connected bathroom.

"In your dreams." I reply. And with that, he disappeared into the bathroom, leaving me in his dark room thinking about our encounter.
