Day 12

Pein had everything under control; well almost everything. The one thing he couldn't control was his daughter's excessive crying, and he's already tried giving her a nap. [D.Name] threw her toys at him, bit her older brother, kicked and screamed, and it was all because she missed her mother.

"Mama! Mama!" The toddler cried out with big tears shedding down her face. This was the first time she's been with her biological dad, and to be honest, he terrified her, so she was rightfully upset.

Pein let his fingers slide through his orange hair. He looked down at his adorable daughter and smiled. She had her mother's looks. Those big doe like eyes, and round chipmunk cheeks — the cutest kid he's ever seen.

"I know you miss your mommy, but it'll be okay," he says, picking up the whiny child. She hugs his neck with her tiny arms, knowing he was her only form of comfort since her mother was gone. Her crying ceased for now, but she still sniffles once in a while.

"It's okay, it's okay. You want a cookie?" He asked, making his way to the kitchen. He walked to the cupboard, and with one hand opened the cupboard doors while the other held his daughter close. With the same hand he grabbed the owl shaped cookie jar and placed it on the counter. [D.Name] points to the jar and says, "Cookie!"

Pein smiles at his daughter's cuteness. "Yes, there's cookies in there."

He lifts the lid, only to realize the cookie jar was empty. A few crumbs lie at the bottom causing Pein to sigh.

"Cookie!" She repeats.

Pein looks between his daughter and the cookie jar. He was afraid to tell her that the jar was empty, in fear of her bursting into tears again.

"I'm sorry princess, but there's no more cookies," he tells her as gently as he could. She stares blankly ahead, her cheeks puffing out slightly.

"All gone?" She questions, tilting her head.

"All gone," he confirms her fears. The little diva sticks her lip out, and gives her father the puppy dog eyes.

"Cookie?"

"We can make some more princess. Don't cry, please don't cry," he begged. He set her down onto the floor and then crouched down to her level. "Go get big brother Nu-nu, he can help make cookies."

Nu-nu was something that [D.Name] called [S.Name]. No one knows where she picked it up from, it just showed up one day.

The little girl went running off to [S.Name's] room yelling, "Nu-nu! Nu-nu!"

Pein sighed, praying that [Name] had ingredients to make cookies. He promised his little princess a cookie and she's going to get one.

...

Unfortunately, [Name] forgot to restock on groceries before she left, so a certain father had to take his kids out shopping.

It was a strange feeling for Pein, his life has been crazy since he was a child — normal situations didn't come to him often. Therefore shopping at the store with two kids felt weird to him, it felt too normal.

"Cookie!" [D.Name] says, pointing at any pastry looking food in the store.

"No that's not a cookie, that's a doughnut," [S.Name] corrected her.

Pein pushed the little kids in the shopping cart all through the aisles, taking anything off the shelf he thought they needed for the house.

"Papa!" [D.Name] said, catching her father's attention. The little girl began to talk gibberish and Pein pretended to be in a really deep conversation with the child.

"Oh wow, interesting," he says, nodding his head. "That's great."

Pein pushed the cart along, looking around for chocolate chips and flour. It was then that he noticed a familiar blue haired girl shopping in the produce section.

Ah shit. He thought, rolling his eyes. She must've followed me from the City of Rain. I told her not to. Damn it Konan.

Pein looked the other way, but figured she'd find out who he was just by his orange hair. He just prayed she was dumb enough not to recognize him.

"Pein?" Her voice said.

Dammit! He thought turning around with a scowl on his face.

"Pein, I knew it was you!" His ex girlfriend sounded excited to see him as she approached the man.

"What do you want Konan?"

She didn't answer his question, instead she inspected the little children sitting in the shopping cart.

"So these are your kids? They look just like their mommy," she says through clenched teeth.

Konan was envious of [Name]. Pein's ex wife had everything Konan wanted. Two adorable kids, a house, a decent job, and the most important thing of all, Pein.

"So how's your wife?" She asked, but Pein ignored her. "I would love to see her again."

Pein continued to walk away from her, going through the aisles grabbing the chocolate chips and flour for the cookies. Konan just followed him, eager to start up another conversation.

"So Pein, why'd you come back over here?"

Pein walked to the front where the self checkout was. He scanned all the items he picked up while Konan was talking to the kids.

"Where's your mommy?" She asked the little boy.

"I dunno. I think she's with her boyfriend," he responded, looking a bit grouchy. Pein's eye twitched when he thought of Kakashi kissing his wife all over.

"Gashi! Gashi!" The little girl squeal and giggled happily.

"Gashi? Who's Gashi?" Konan asked.

"That's none of your business. Now get the hell away from my kids," Pein snapped, grabbing the bags once he paid. "Come on, let's go kids."

Konan just glared at the family as they left the grocery store. She desperately wanted to know what was so special about [Name] that lead to Pein crawling back to her. Why was she so special? And the most significant question of all, why did Pein dump her for his ex wife who's already moved on?!

"That bitch stole my man, so now I'm going to ruin her life."

...

A/N: well shit. This was not how the chapter was going to end. Ugh ugh ugh. Well I tried. Hope you enjoyed it at least.

Love you bye!~
