Day 10

The two men were in a heated glare battle, not one had said a word yet. The atmosphere around them began to get tense, the stale air weighing down on them both.

"I'm going to kill you," was the first thing to be said, and surprisingly Kakashi spoke those words. "If you ever make [Name] cry again, I'll end you."

Pein scoffed—breaking his intense gaze from Kakashi to roll his eyes. The ex husband was wholeheartedly doubtful that Kakashi could leave a scratch on him.

"I'd like to see you try," Pein dared Kakashi with upfront gruffness. "[Name] still loves me, she'd never let you hurt me—the father of her kids."

Kakashi's fist tightened. This primal anger consuming him, this need to have [Name] all to himself was killing him.

"How could she still love you after what you did to her?" Kakashi kept his cool, although anger was oozing out of every pore on his body.

"Whatever happened between me and her doesn't concern you!" Pein yelled, pointing his finger at Kakashi whilst taking a step closer.

"It does concern me! Especially when the woman I love is still hung up on you."

Kakashi closed his eyes and took a shaky breath. He wanted to hurt Pein; wanted to rip his throat out. How dare he say she still loved him?!

"You don't belong here Kakashi. We're going to be a happy family again," Pein says in a low tone.

"She doesn't want you anymore Pein, she has me."

The words Pein spoke came out through clenched teeth. "You're only a rebound, she doesn't truly love you!"

"I just can't talk to a stubborn jackass like you," Kakashi mumbles, heading for the door.

Pein scoffs, a smirk appearing on his facial features. "Running away like a little bitch? Can't handle the truth Kakashi?"

The grey haired man ignored Pein's taunts as he entered the hallway. Kakashi stormed into the kitchen, breathing heavily out of his nose.

[Name] was in the action of dealing out cut up sandwiches to [D.Name] and [S.Name] when she noticed her significant other enter the room.

"God, I can't talk to him," he says, raking his hands through his hair out of frustration. "He's so childish."

"Then don't talk to him, ignore him," the mother smiles, caressing Kakashi's cheek. "I'll deal with him, okay?"

She made an effort to convince her lover that Pein wasn't a big deal to her; but Kakashi saw through her transparent facade and knew she didn't want to deal with him either.

...

"Get out Pein!" [Name] screamed for the umpteenth time today. "You're not staying here!"

"Why not? I'm not leaving until next week," Pein responses casually. "Let me stay here. I want to spend as much time with my kids as possible."

"I said no! Why can't you stay with one of your friends? I'm pretty sure Itachi still lives in town."

"No [Name]," Pein sighs. "I'm staying here and that's final."

"Don't treat me like I'm a child!" She yells as Pein begins to walk away. "Pein! Pein listen to me!"

[Name] let's out a frustrated scream when she storms to her room and slams the door closed. The mother flops on her bed and emits another scream into her fluffy pillows.

Kakashi has been long gone —since one of his coworkers called him in for help — and she could no longer confide in him.

"I miss Kakashi," she mumbles, hugging herself.

[Name] felt as if her life took a big wrong turn. She felt as if her life was crumbling right before her eyes.

Pein came back to destroy her, and ruin all the great things in her life. But she couldn't let him, not again, not ever again.

...

"If you're going to stay here, then I'm staying with Kakashi," she says to Pein.

He glares and snarls at the thought of his ex wife and her boyfriend snuggling up in the same bed. "Excuse me?"

"I can relax and take a break while you take care of the kids and spend as much time as you want with them," [Name] says while grinning at Pein's angry face. "It's a win-win for both of us."

"Why are you leaving? You can't leave!" He says. "I can't take care of those two by myself!"

"Too bad, so sad. I'm leaving and there's nothing you can do about it!" She declares, heading for the door.

"You're not leaving!!"

Suddenly, Pein grabs her wrist and pushes her against the wall, his large hands clasped around her upper arms. [Name] is trapped between him and the wall.

She squirms in his arms. "Let go of me!"

Dismissing her words, he barks out, "You're staying here! You're not leaving me for that no good piece of shit."

"He's better than you!"

Pein's jaw clenched. But instead of yelling and punching a hole in the wall, he hugs her.

[Name] felt uncomfortable in the tight embrace.

"Um, Pein. Let go of me..." She mumbles.

"I refuse."

He nestled his head in the curve of her neck. [Name] could tell there was something off about him.

"Pein..."

"[Name] I missed you," Pein says, his voice wavering. "I missed this. I missed the arguing and the fighting. Our relationship was toxic, but our love was pure."

She looks down, her eyebrows furrowed. She hated reminiscing about the past because all it brought her was pain and regret. In her opinion, the only thing good about their relationship was the sex, thus the two kids.

"I'm sorry [Name]. I'm really sorry," he says, letting go of her. "You can do whatever you want, I shouldn't control you."

"Thank you," she nods, escaping to her room again.

[Name] sat on her bed, the thought of staying with Kakashi continued to float in her mind; however she couldn't bring it upon herself to pack her bags — not after what Pein just did.

She sighs, looking up at the white ceiling.

"What am I going to do?"
