The Imp and The Princess
If there was any type of day that Blitzo hated in Hell, it was days when there were no clients. When he started his company, having a day with no clients was worse than anything he could go through. Back then, no clients meant no money, which meant no revenue, which meant no financial stability, which meant his company would go back into the red again. Starting a company was as easy as growing a tree in a desert. Some loans had to be taken from banks that required payment back, with interest, and all the expenses that came with owning a company in general, such as office rent, electrical bills, Internet bills, business taxes, food, heating bills, water bills, and more. It only got worse when you had to deal with all the added expenses that came with being an assassination company: weapon manufacturers, ammo buying, hospital bills when they were injured, bomb-making, poison-making, and several other things. Combined with all the regular bills Blitzo had to deal with in his apartment, it was clear why most businesses ended up always folding over in less than three years.
I.M.P. had existed for over five years, and it was a miracle that it had survived this long. It wasn't that Blitzo and his team weren't good at killing their targets. In fact, they had a hundred percent kill rate ever since they started. Plus, there were plenty of demons out there who wanted someone in the human world dead for a price. No, the problem was Blitzo wasn't very good at handling money, and he hated to admit that, but it was the truth. His spending and financial ideas were, more often than not, always a disaster and kept the company in the red for a long time no matter how much he tried to fix it. It didn't help that reading and writing were always a chore for him due to his dyslexia, so sometimes the wrong paper would be addressed to the wrong banker or service provider.
It got so bad that Millie and Moxxie were close to leaving the company because it was just barely allowing them to make ends meet. Loona had complained a lot about how hard it was to get basic groceries and hot water for their shower. Finally, there was the fact that the bankers would take all of them out by hiring assassins of their own if they didn't get their payments. It took a lot of pride to swallow, but Blitzo had finally decided to turn to the one person in all of Hell he hesitated to get help from: Prince Stolas.
At first, Blitzo hated the bird prince because he was such a goddamn pervert and stalker. Blitzo would like to think he was hot for a demon, but he had his limits. If it honestly wasn't for needing that stupid book, then Blitzo would have never associated with him in the first place. Still, Stolas eventually became the closest thing to a true friend he had in the nine rings and went to him whenever there was a problem. When he went to Stolas for help in being more financial, the Prince was more than happy to teach him about business by offering someone who could help.
"Hey, Blitz?" The imp boss looked up from his video on Voxtube to see Octavia walk in with a stack of papers in her hand. "Latest investments came in. Going to take a look through them before Loona and I hit our lunch break. Want anything while we're out?"
"Turkey club with eyeballs and mayo," Blitzo said, turning back to his video. "Oh, and a diet coke."
"Sure thing," Octavia said as she was about to leave before pausing. "Oh, and Dad texted me earlier. Says he wants to take you out again tonight. Your choice."
"Eh, I'm in the mood for pizza," Blitzo said, shrugging. "Let him know that if I'm going to be at his place tonight, I'm not using that lube he got last time. I swear it's colder than a witch's tit."
"Oh, come on, Blitz," Octavia groaned, covering her face with her head. "How many times do I have to tell you to not mention any of your...intercourse moments with Dad in front of me?"
"You'd think after working here for three years now you'd be used to it," Blitzo said with a grin.
"You'd think I'd quit after three years of this..." Octavia muttered before closing the door behind her, but he saw a smirk on her lips.
Shaking his head, Blitzo still found it insane that his lover's daughter was now their company's financial manager. When Stolas had suggested it three years ago, everyone was in disbelief about such an idea, even if Octavia was studying business and economics for college. Octavia had only agreed to it just so she could earn some extra credits in her college courses. Blitzo was about to decline that day until Stolas promised six months of no sex if he took her in for that long just to give it a try. Three months later, Blitzo ran over to Stolas and fucked his brains out on his own terms for giving him such a wonderful gift. Octavia had been just what the company needed as she could take their earnings, invest them, save them, and find legal loopholes for their company to prosper without needing to pay more than required. Thanks to her, and their hard work, they managed to get out of the red and made good income.
Because of her, days with no clients were no longer worrisome days where he had to worry about even eating this month, but rather just days when you tried to find something to do. Hell, they could actually take sick and vacation days while saving up money for 401k's.
Soon, Octavia had become not just an employee but a part of the I.M.P. family. Loona and Octavia had the same tastes in music, art, clothing, and other interests that made them become fast friends. Millie was just happy to have another girl to talk to, and Moxxie was just glad to have someone who wasn't a complete dick to him at work. Although she still liked to call him "Old Man" once and while to tease him
And for Blitz, she had made him realize just how much Stolas really did care about him...
***Three Years Ago***
"So, what's the deal up with you and my dad?" Octavia asked as Blitzo ate his sandwich in the breakroom. He saw her put on the coffee machine when the question caught his attention. "I mean, you've been together for like two years now. So what's up with you two?"
"Nothing," Blitzo said as he took another bite. "Your dad and I have an arrangement. He lets me use his fancy book, and I have to sleep with him once a month to keep it."
"Really? Just that?" Octavia asked, eyebrows raised.
"Yeah, why? I'm probably not the first and only guy he's screwed with," Blitzo said, shrugging.
"From what I've learned from him, no, you're not the first, but you are the longest he's been with and so far the only one I think he's been sleeping with since he met you," Octavia pointed out, which got the older imp's attention.
"Really? With the way how horny he acts, I'd assume that he'd be having someone in bed once every day," Blitzo said.
Octavia snorted. "No, that would be my mother. She sleeps with at least two other guys every week."
"The fuck?! Then why does she have such a big deal with me?!" Blitzo shouted.
"It's not the fact that you slept with my dad that bothered her. It's the fact that you're an imp," Octavia answered.
"Oh great, so not only is she a bitch, but she's also a racist bitch," Blitzo said, rolling his eyes.
"My mother has her issues," Octavia admitted with a heavy sigh. "But she is still my mother. She's just concerned for our family's reputation. I mean, let's face it, Dad might be powerful and all, but he can be a complete embarrassment of a goofball."
"Eh, just do what I do," Blitzo answered, shrugging his shoulders. "Don't give a shit what anyone thinks."
"Does that include my dad?" Octavia asked, crossing her arms. "Look, normally, I stay out of this talk since I'm still finding it uncomfortable that you two are sleeping together, but, seriously, do you care about my dad the way he does for you?"
"What are you talking about?" Blitzo asked, wiping the mouth of the mustard on his lips. "I'm just some guy he fucks. Sure, we might be friends a bit, but still..."
Octavia's eyes widened until she snorted and then started laughing while taking her coffee cup. Shaking her head, she looked at Blitzo and smirked. "Wow, Loona was right. You are a complete moron."
"Hey, I'm still your boss, Princess. I can lower your pay for that," Blitzo growled, pointing at her.
"Please, I make more on my weekly allowance than you do in a year," Octavia replied while rolling her eyes. "Look, Blitz, the truth is I think my dad really likes you. As in, he has feelings for you."
Blitzo just stared at her for a bit before he started laughing so hard he dropped his sandwich and started kicking his legs up in the air while he was on the floor. Octavia just raised an eyebrow as she crossed her arms and waited for nearly half an hour before Blitzo finally got up, gasping for breath. "Finished?"
"Just about," Blitzo gasped before shaking his head. "Look, Octavia, you're a clever girl and all, but I seriously doubt that Stolas actually likes me."
"Okay, want me to prove it to you?" Octavia said with a knowing smirk. "I'll make you a deal."
"What kind of deal?" Blitzo asked, eyebrows raised.
"If I can prove that my dad genuinely cares about you in a romantic sense, then you give Loona and me the next two weeks off so we can go see Within Temptation's big European Tour using the Grimoire," Octavia offered before pointing at the imp. "And if I fail, then I'll personally buy all your pony and horse figuring crap for the next six months."
"Deal!" Blitzo said as he held his hand and shook it with Octavia. A bright glowing pentagram appeared on both their hands to symbolize that a "Demon's Deal" had been made, and they were now honored by Hell's magic to agree to the terms. Failure to do so would not be a pleasant experience. "So, what's your little plan? Fake me getting kidnapped so Stolas can come to rescue me like a prince in shining armor? Give me a fake boyfriend to make him jealous? Or do you want to just get on eBay right now and get the credit card rolling?"
"Hmm, I was thinking something a bit more...dramatic..."
***
Christ, I swear Octavia watches those soap operas Moxxie goes on about loving, Blitzo thought as he lay in a hospital bed with a heart monitor beeping, an IV through his arm, and a nasal oxygen flannel for his nostrils. He was also pale as a ghost, with bags under his eyes and scars all over his body. If anyone were to walk in and look at Blitzo, they could swear the imp looked like he was dying, but that was the whole point. With a bit of glamor and makeup, plus a few bribes and false statements, Blitzo was able to appear as if he was going to kick the bucket any minute.
This was Octavia's plan. To have it look like Blitzo was dying and for her father to come and confess his love for him. It had to be something serious since dying usually was not a big deal for most demons since Hell spit them outright back to life. So they decided to go with "Angel Toxicosis" as his condition, a rare fatal disease for demons exposed to too much divine energy from Heaven in a similar way humans could die from too much radiation exposure. And since holy energy was what could permanently kill demons, it was going to look like Blitzo was on his final stop before oblivion.
Surprisingly, the others had decided to help. Loona did so because she wanted to go to that concert, but for Moxxie and Millie? They just wanted to see the look on their boss's face when he realized that his "boyfriend" was actually genuine. He's not my boyfriend, and I'm going to prove it.
The door soon slammed open as Blitzo nearly jumped out of his bed but remained calm and quickly did his best "dying" expression upon seeing it was a worried and terrified Stolas. The Prince moved like lightning and yet was as graceful as water as he rushed over to Blitzo's side and caressed his cheek while holding his 'weak' arm. "Blitzy! Octavia just told me! Oh, my dear little imp...what happened..."
"Hey, Stolas..." Blitzo weakly whispered while giving a few coughs. "Kinda my own fault really...got too close to some angel weapons that were malfunctioning...the blast got me and...well..."
Stolas quickly levitated the diagnosis chart and rushed through the lettering before gasping in horror. "A-A-Angel T-Toxicosis?!"
"Yup," Blitzo said, giving a sigh as he turned away. "I'm done for...figures I'd live a short life...always thought I'd get killed on the job..."
"N-N-No, there has to be a way to save you!" Stolas screamed as he forced Blitzo to turn around and face him, much to his surprise. "Don't you dare give up on me, Blitz! You're stronger than this! I know you are! You are not the kind of imp to just lie down and die!"
Damn right I'm not, but seriously, stop over caring so much, Blitzo thought before shaking his head. "Look, Stolas, I'm not one to give up...but this doesn't look like..."
"I won't hear it!" Stolas shouted as he began to tear up, much to Blitzo's surprise. Warm and wet tears started to drip down the Prince's cheeks as they fell upon Blitzo's face. The Prince's talons gripped the hand of Blitzo and squeezed it tight. "I don't care what it takes. I am one of the most powerful magic users in the seven rings! I'll make a cure! Potion, spell, charm, whatever means. I have allies I can call favors on, even from Lucifer. I'll even march to Heaven itself with my legions, siege the home of God himself, and demand a cure if need be!"
"H-Hey now," Blitzo gulped as he waved his free hand. "Let's not get too carried away. I... I'm just an imp...and..."
"You are not just an imp!" Stolas hissed before letting out a sad sob. Blitzo felt his heart stop as Stolas took the "dying" imp's hand and pressed it against his cheek before kissing it. "You're not just an imp, Blitzy. You're the one I truly care about in this existence. I can't think of another demon in my entire life that has ever captured my heart so much as you. Every second we have spent together has been more exciting and fulfilling for me than the thousands of years I have lived. You've been not just one of my best friends and protectors, but you are the one I trust with seeing who I truly am inside. Some I can be true and honest with to my heart's content. Every second I have been with you has been more fulfilling to me than all the years I have ever lived." He stared into Blitzo's eyes and gave a sad smile. "Our relationship might have been based on sex and a book, but since then, I've come to see you as the one that I truly do love, Blitz. And I'd rather let myself be exterminated than lose you like this."
"...you love me?" Blitzo whispered both in awe, fear, joy, and sorrow as his own eyes began to water.
That was when Stolas leaned down and kissed him on the lips. Blitzo's eyes widened before he slowly closed them and returned the kiss while wrapping one hand behind the feathered back of Stolas's head. He pressed him closer, getting to taste that magical energetic buzz that was pulsing through their mouths. Blitzo had been kissed before, but he never felt his heart soar like a bird than with this kiss.
He loved him.
Stolas really did love him.
Fuck, I lost this bet, Blitzo thought as he continued to make out with Stolas. But honestly? I don't mind.
***End of Flashback***
When Octavia and Blitzo revealed the truth, Stolas was just happy that Blitzo was alive and well, but he did ground his daughter for a month after returning from her tour experience with Loona. It felt weird for Blitzo to be having a real lover again, even if he was married, compared to his last ex-girlfriend, Verosika. That had really just been about the sex, even though Blitzo tried it seriously with her. Of course, she then learned what his plan was for I.M.P and thought it was the stupidest thing ever and mocked him for it. That led to the whole credit card, joyride, and horse lessons incident, which ended their relationship.
After admitting that Stolas really did like him, Blitzo had slowly come to terms with his own feelings for the Prince. He wasn't sure it would work out at first due to their different classes and all, but save for a few bumps on the road, it had been outstanding, and Blitzo could honestly say he was happy.
It took him a long time to finally say "I love you" to Stolas, but it had been the happiest he had ever seen the Prince.
None of the others seemed to mind him and Stolas being together. Loona only said "fucking finally" and told him to not have sex in their apartment when she was home. Millie thought the whole thing was cute and apparently won some kind of bet with Moxxie, who had given his support as well. And Octavia? Surprisingly, she was okay with it.
Even when Stella finally had enough and divorced Stolas. She was hurt for a while, but to Blitzo's surprise, she never blamed him...
***Two Years Ago***
It had finally happened. Stella had enough of Stolas cheating with an imp, even if she had cheated on him just as badly. The news hit everywhere that the two were divorcing and talked about the upcoming legal battles between two exes on what would be given and taken, but Blitzo didn't care about that.
He honestly was here for Octavia.
Stolas had actually been perfectly calm and didn't need any emotional support from Blitzo, despite the fact he was divorcing a partner he had been married to for nearly eight hundred years. According to him, the romance and friendship had long since passed, and it was more of a weight that he was finally free from. Not to mention, he was finally able to rid himself of the emotional and verbal abuses he had to suffer from his harpy of a wife while also able to openly date Blitzo. Blitzo knew that was going to get special news coverage when the word finally got around that Stolas was dating an imp. Not that Blitzo cared about the media or public opinion. If they had a problem with it, they could kiss his red ass. Actually, no. Only my bwrd boie can kiss my pucker.
However, he knew that for someone like Octavia, this was going to be a big issue. Blitzo's parents divorced themselves when he was young, so he could understand why she had been staying in her room most of the time.
Much like Stella and Stolas, Blitzo's parents didn't have a happy marriage either. They had argued, cursed, and even got physical when booze was involved, and their children were forced to watch through it all. Blitzo could still remember hiding under his bed with his sister while Tillie kept watch to make sure neither of their parents got too drunk to take it out on the kids. They finally divorced when he was ten, leaving him and his twin in the care of their father, who put his rage on them, while Tillie went with their mother, who just complained a lot that her daughter didn't bring home money while she got drunk as a skunk all day. Needless to say, Blitzo didn't cry when his parents got killed in the Extermination that following year, but it still hurt to see that his family had become torn apart. Once his parents were finally buried, Tillie had taken custody of him and Barbie Wire, and they reunited as siblings again to star as the famous "Imp Siblings'' with their acrobat show. Life was good for a few years until his older sister's death by an accident and his twin's addiction problems. The poor imp was left without anyone save for his sister, who was always high or stuck in rehab.
Sure, his outcome of family life was different from Octavia's, but Blitzo still knew what it was like to have your family broken apart. The only thing was that Blitzo felt like he was the one who had caused it. He would never regret trying to steal that book and start his company, nor would he regret his love for Stolas. But he did regret that Octavia had gotten caught in the crossfire after everything she had done for him and his company.
With a heavy sigh, Blitzo knocked on the door. "Hey, Octavia? Mind if I come in?"
"No, I'm not in the mood!"
"Look, as your boss, I respect your right to privacy, but I'm going to use my authority as your boss by coming in anyway," Blitzo said as he slapped some C4 on the door, walked around the corner, and pressed the trigger.
A loud explosion echoed across the palace before Blitzo walked back to the door where a giant hole resided. Octavia, who was coughing out smoke, glared at the smirking imp with glowing red eyes. "Why the fuck did you blow up my door?!"
"Hey, it works when I need to talk to Loona, so I figured it would work for you," Blitzo said as he walked inside and sat on the bed. "Besides, I figured I need to apologize for something bigger than a door you can replace in ten seconds due to how rich your father is."
"And what's that?" Octavia muttered as she turned away, knees up against her chest.
Sighing, Blitzo ran his hand through his horns before shaking his head. "Look, the whole reason your parents are divorcing is because of me. So I don't blame you for hating me for it-"
"Right now, I hate you for my broken door," Octavia pointed out.
"Forget the door and listen to me!" Blitzo growled. "I'm trying to let you know that I feel guilty about this whole mess you're going through, alright? The fucking press trying to get your face on the evening news while asking your thoughts about all this when you just want some privacy. The fact that your own parents are splitting up and hell-bent on going to court to get every last dime from each other. Plus, the fact that things are serious between your dad and me, and he's ready to go open with our relationship."
Octavia slowly turned towards Blitzo, who lowered his head. "So, if you want to yell at me, hit me, or even just tell me to get lost and not speak to you for a long time? Go ahead."
"...I don't blame you," Octavia whispered, which made him jerk his head to her. Moaning, Octavia fell on top of her bed and muttered, "You were just the final nail in the coffin for the shame of a marriage that was in this house. My parents had hated each other long before I was born. Fuck, I think my mom even tried to have my dad killed a few times."
"Wait, seriously?" Blitzo asked in disbelief. "How?"
"I don't know. Some guy name Striker or something-"
"THAT BITCH HIRED THAT ASSHOLE?! I'LL FUCKING KILL HER!" Blitzo screamed as he drew his pistol and was about to go owl hunting when Octavia dragged him back to her bed.
"Blitz! Forget it! It doesn't matter," Octavia said, forcing him down. "It's not worth it at this point. She and Dad are finally ending their relationship, and, quite frankly, I'm finally glad they are." She sighed and covered her face with her hands. "I'm just tired of the lies and the fighting. I'm tired of seeing my dad get verbally and emotionally abused by that cunt every day while Mom acts like she's done nothing wrong. The fact that she only cares that Dad's cheating on an imp, instead of caring about the other guys he slept with in the past, shows she never really cared about this family or keeping it stable. She was just worried about herself like she always fucking is!" She grabbed one of her squirrel taxidermy models and threw it across the room.
"...What happened?" Blitzo asked, sensing that there was more to this than just anger.
Octavia just shook her head. "Well, the good news was that since I was an adult, I didn't need to worry about siding with which parent to stay with. Technically, I could live independently, and I have the means too, but I'm just lazy in getting my own place. Dad said he understood if I wanted to stay at Mom's sometimes but hoped I would live here with him. And Mom?" She gave a dark chuckle. "Unlike Dad, who gave me a choice, my mom's was more of an ultimatum. She told me that if I lived with her, I was to never see Dad again. I told her I wanted to be part of both their lives, but Stella told me either I lived with her so I could be turned into a proper princess, or she would cut me off as well. Forever."
Lowering her head, Octavia let a tear drip down her face before she sighed. "That's when I finally realized my mom has never really loved me as her daughter. Just another object or tool to be used for her nobility. I told her to go fuck herself, and I'm torn between getting drunk or tearing out all my photos of her."
"Why not both?" Blitzo asked, which made Octavia chuckle. Sighing, Blitzo placed his hand on Octavia's shoulder. "Look, take it from a guy who came from shitty parents himself. She's not worth it. I'm not saying it's not gonna hurt for a while, but if she's going to act like that to her own daughter, then that cunt of a whore isn't worth moaning over." He got up and held his hand for her. "So why don't we get a six-pack of cheap beer, head over into the human world, and take potshots at homeless people in California? That always cheers me up."
Octavia stared at the hand for a moment before a smile slowly appeared on her beak. She took the hand, got up, and nodded. "Okay, but let's shoot at Disneyland instead."
"Why?" Blitzo asked.
"Because it's fun seeing people in corporate mascot outfits flee for their lives," Octavia said with a giggle as the two nodded and walked out the door.
Needless to say, the two had a blast filling Disney Characters like Pluto and Daisy Duck with sniper rounds.
***Present***
"Hey, Blitz?" Blitzo looked up just in time to catch his club and soda from Octavia. "Better eat that quickly. We have that meeting in half an hour."
"Right," Bltizo said as he opened the wrapping and started eating. "Did anything happen on the way to lunch? Stalkers? Black vans? People looking at your tails lewdly?"
"Relax, Blitz," Octavia said, rolling her eyes. "What happened last year was just a fluke."
Swallowing his food, Blitzo glared at Octavia and firmly stated. "Fluke or not, you girls could have gotten killed if we hadn't arrived at that warehouse in time. Or worse. So forgive me for being cautious when both you and Loona almost got sold as sex slaves thanks to that fucking asshole, Valentino!"
Octavia shivered as she held her arms and looked down with regret and shame over what had happened. Blitzo nearly kicked himself for acting harshly to her when in truth, it wasn't anyone's fault. Just bad luck. Octavia had heard of a new nightclub that she wanted to see with Loona, and so they went out one night only to disappear for six days straight. Blitzo and Stolas were panicking over the fact that their daughters were missing, and they had used every resource they had to try and find them while fearing the worst. Eventually, Loona had managed to contact them with a cellphone she had stolen from one of their wardens.
The club had been a trap by none other than Hell's biggest sex pimp, Overlord Valentino, who had been looking for new flesh for his latest perverted exploits. Only this time, the moth had crossed a line and kidnapped the daughters of two very powerful and very pissed-off demons.
***One Year Ago***
It took them hours to find the right warehouse, but once they did all, hell broke loose for the lack of a better term. Blitzo started it by firing a rocket launcher into the front doors while Stolas's personal Demonic Legions swarmed the place in a sea of blood and rage to find their princess. Not that their master wasn't far behind. Blitzo had never seen Stolas as angry as this before, and it only proved to show why you never fuck with a demon prince. Especially one who happens to be an overprotective father.
Stolas had unleashed his true form, which was both beautiful and also frightening. He had grown even bigger and taller than he was previously, with giant glowing wings that had the swirls of galaxies, stars, and planets emanating from every feather in a hypnotic, ethereal gaze. The feathers of his body were now pure silver steel with runes etched onto every corner of his body in an ancient language that few spoke yet could get the feel of how powerful they were. His horns were like that of a buck but twisted and pulsing every five minutes of the five essential magical elements of fire, water, wind, earth, and aether. His eyes were pure white like the stars, and his beak was long with teeth the size of knives stretched out as he shrieked with rage. In his hands were two rods, one red and one blue, firing magical blasts after blasts that decorated the land in both fire and ice. It was rare to ever see a demon's "true" form, should they ever obtain it, and Blitzo would have found it hot if it wasn't for the fact he was fighting as well.
Wielding two M1911's, the assassin danced his way through the mooks whose lives were forfeit the moment they took his baby girl and her best friend. Moxxie and Millie provided cover for him while riding around in the latter's personal motorcycle (something she bought last year) while running over any downed demons with her spiked wheels.
Once the path was clear, Blitzo was the first to enter the warehouse, only to find himself disturbed by what he saw. Half a hundred cages of various girls and guys, all ranging from as old as mid-twenties to as young as ten, were chained to their steel homes with looks of fear, hope, and despair all mixed into one. There were whip marks on their naked bodies with the smell of piss, shit, and cum mixed into the air. Fear began to drive Blitzo into searching even harder for the girls.
"Dad!"
It was rare that Loona ever called him that, and it usually would make him cry tears of joy, but he was focused on getting to his daughter as fast as possible. He eventually found her, thankfully unhurt yet stripped of her clothing, while she held a naked Octavia whose eyes were shut and blood coming out of a big cut on her head. After telling his daughter to stand back, he blew open the lock with a gunshot and forced the door open. "Are you okay?! What happened?!"
"I'm fine! Valentino apparently thought we were too good to damage, so they left us alone," Loona said before looking at Octavia with worry. "But Octavia said something that pissed one of the guards off and hit her hard! She hasn't woken up for hours!"
"Fuck!" Blitzo shouted. With strength he didn't even know he had, Blitzo took Octavia into his arms and lifted her up. If there was any pain in doing so, he ignored it thanks to his fear about the princess's condition. He noticed some of the Legionnaires getting inside and rushed past them. "Get these girls out of there and treat them! I need to find Stolas so he can heal his daughter!"
He didn't even care if they acknowledged him or not; Blitzo just kept running while praying he wasn't too late. Looking at the unconscious owl demon, Blitzo bit his lip and nearly sobbed upon seeing the tear marks in her eyes. "Don't you fucking die, Octavia. Or I swear I'm docking your pay!"
***Present***
"...I really owe you for saving me," Octavia whispered, leaning against the door. "Honestly, Blitz, if it wasn't for you..."
"Thank your father, "Blitzo said as he tossed his wrapper in the trash. "He's the one who healed you and refused to leave your side as you recovered."
"I also remember you doing the same thing as well," Octavia said with a slight smirk.
Blitzo quickly turned his head around to avoid her seeing his blush. Once it was clear that Loona was in no danger, Blitzo had visited Octavia almost every day while recovering. Both he and Stolas had been there when she finally opened her eyes, and she hugged both of them equally with tears as they all sighed in relief that she was going to be okay. Blitzo could remember the huge party that they all had, and it was quite a blast. Not that they weren't busy afterward. He and the rest of the I.M.P. spent the next six months tearing down everything Valentino owned before Stolas personally ended the Overlord's life. All while warning the other two V's that if they tried anything to avenge him, he would make them wish they were dealing with Exorcists instead of him. Needless to say, everyone in Hell got the message.
Don't fuck with Blitzo and Stolas's daughters.
"Well, we should have that meeting now," Blitzo said, getting up while motioning for Octavia to leave his office. He quickly then took something from one of his drawers and put it in his pocket. Guess today's as good as time as any to ask...
***An hour later***
"...and that's why we'll never use bear traps on a target again," Blitzo finished as he wiped away his drawings on the whiteboard. He turned to his four employees before dusting his hands. "Alright, assholes. Day's done and all, so you can head home and do whatever the fuck you want."
Everyone rolled their eyes before getting up and making for the door. However, Blitzo then said, "Octavia? Mind staying behind for a bit?"
She paused and turned to Blitzo, who was giving a severe rare look before turning to Loona. "I'll meet you in the driveway."
The hellhound nodded before taking out her phone and leaving the room, leaving Octavia and Blitzo by themselves. Demon biology was bizarre. Despite being older than her, Blitzo was forced to look upwards to view the young owl demon who was leaning against the wall in annoyance. "So what is it? Loona and I were planning on going to Stylish Occult before their super sale ended."
"Right, sorry," Blitzo muttered as he took a deep breath. "I'm in love with your father."
"...Um, I know," Octavia asked, tilting her head. "You've been dating for three years and-"
"No, you don't understand," Blitzo sighed and rubbed his forehead. "I've dated before. Fucked before. Been in relationships before. But in all of those, I never felt...like this." He touched his heart and looked down with uncertainty. "Ever since I really found out he likes me... I've felt so happy. Like, I keep expecting this to just crash and burn, but it keeps getting better and better. I'm no longer afraid of being near him. I want to be with him. Fuck, I think I even need it some days."
Blitzo slowly walked over to the window and had his hands behind his back before staring down at the filthy streets of Imp City. "I'm sure most people would think I'm with your father only for business reasons, the financial help, or just an excuse to use that fancy jacuzzi you have on the sixth floor."
"We finally fixed that, by the way," Octavia snorted. "But please don't bring your horse toys to play with so they clog up the pipes next time."
"The point is that none of those things are the reason I'm in love with your father," Blitzo said as he turned around, glaring at her. "For the first time, in a long time, I feel loved by someone who likes me for who I am: all my traits, my faults, and my problems. Even when I mess up, Stolas still is patient and does everything to be there for me. We've had so many good moments, adventures, and events in our life that I wouldn't trade them for anything. I really love him, and I want to keep loving him. Sometimes I think I don't deserve it, but he tells me that I do. I'm not sure what I did to deserve this, but I'm not going to let it go. In fact...I want to make sure I keep it forever." He then walked over to Octavia, looking surprised as he gazed up at her with sympathetic eyes. "But...I know that we didn't have the best relationship when we started, but these past three years haven't just been a good relationship between your dad and me. It's been a good relationship between the two of us."
"Blitz?" Octavia asked.
"You've been like a sister to Loona. Millie and Moxxie like you too. And I've...come to see you as part of my family," Blitzo whispered as he then took out what he had been holding onto for four months. A small black box that, when opened, revealed a beautiful bluish-silver ring that made Octavia gasp. "Relax, it's not for you. It's for Stolas."
"You're going to propose?" Octavia asked in shock.
"Yeah," Blitzo chuckled before closing it. "I'm gonna ask him to marry me. But...that depends on you."
"Me?" Octavia asked.
"Octavia, you're his daughter. I know you're grown up and all, but this decision is still going to affect you. I know how much you and Stolas mean to each other. Take it from a single parent who raised an adopted hellhound. I think I know what it's like to have a close relationship with a daughter that you'd do anything for," Blitzo said with a shrug. "I told Loona, and she's down with me marrying Stolas. The only person I want to ask before I do it is you."
Octavia didn't say anything but continued to stare at Blitzo with wide eyes.
"If you don't want me to marry him now, just say it, and I'll wait," Bltzo said before giving a slight smirk. "But... I'd really like to be your Step-Dad. Because, quite frankly, I've already come to see you as a second little girl I care about."
"...Heh," Octavia chuckled before closing her eyes. "You promise you'll make him happy? He's been married before, and it sucked when he was with Stella." Octavia had refused to call her mother anything other than her real name ever since last year when she still didn't come to see her daughter in the hospital after being kidnapped. That had permanently ended any love Octavia previously had for her former mother and declared the woman dead to her.
"Trust me, I'll never be like Stella," Blitzo said firmly. "And if I ever act like that skank, I give you full permission to beat the shit out of me."
Octavia slowly walked forward and took Blitzo's hand holding the ring box. With a warm smile, she said, "If this was years ago, I would be telling you to get the fuck out. But now? Go ahead and make my dad happy."
Blitzo smiled and quickly hugged Octavia before the two separated as Blitzo dusted his coat. "Well, I better get ready for Stolas. Don't want to keep the pizza waiting too long."
"Wait, you're seriously going to propose at a pizza place?" Octavia asked in disbelief.
"Nah, I figured I'll propose before we fuck tonight," Blitzo said as he made his way to the door. "Don't forget to lock up when you leave."
Blitzo closed the door, and Octavia sighed before staring at the door with a soft smile.
"I will, Dad."
