a/n: wait to play the song until tyler mentions it

tyler gently opened his eyes with a yawn and a cute smile. he rolled his fists against his eyelids in an attempt to make him less tired even though he'd soon have a bunch of energy from his excitement. "i'm sixteen i'm sixteen holy cow it's my BIRTHDAY!", tyler jumped out of his pastel sheets so he could run to joshua's room but he bumped into said boy who was holding a red velvet cupcake.

tyler bumped into josh's chest which made the both of them fall, josh on top of tyler still managing to hold the cupcake which was lit by a singular candle. "happy birthday. here's a cupcake for my cupcake.", josh chuckled his eyes squinting.

tyler's heart melted as he giggled. he pressed on josh's chest so he could get up which he did with a grunt. he helped tyler up with the hand that wasn't holding the treat. as soon as he did tyler's arms were wrapping around josh's frame. "thank you thank you thank you so much joshie. i didn't even see you there i was so excited i was going to run to your room and jump on your bed.", tyler said his face buried in josh's neck. he wondered how long josh was standing there waiting for tyler to wake up or maybe josh would have woken tyler up himself.

tyler pulled away the heat in his cheeks not enough to stop the rest of his body from shaking. he was only wearing a big plain black t shirt that he stole from josh's closet whenever he went home with ryan yesterday. of course he had underwear on also but the shirt was so long that you couldn't be able to tell. it was very cold in the mornings so tyler's teeth chattered as he went back to his bed to wrap a pink fluffy blanket around himself. "you got me a cupcake?", tyler asked with a smile.

"well of course. you've never really told me your favorite flavor but i kinda just guessed that everyone loves red velvet.", josh shrugged sheepishly. he handed the treat to his now sixteen year old brother.

tyler took it with a bright grin on his face his eyes focusing on the flame so he wouldn't accidentally burn himself. "thank you so much.", tyler muttered.

"are you going to make a wish?", josh asked. tyler eyed josh but quickly looked away because he was still intimidated by long periods of eye contact. it was just so intimate and tyler didn't want his blush to be even more noticeable.

tyler nodded thinking about what he should wish for. he'd wish for something that could help the world or make everyone happy but he does that anyway and today was his birthday so it wouldn't really be selfish if he just wanted something for himself today. tyler pursed his lips as he thought, josh watching him with a glimmer in his eyes.

tyler gasped. he smiled knowing exactly what he wanted to happen and he wanted it to happen today on his birthday. tyler blew out the candle. josh clapped while tyler smiled bashfully. "you gonna tell me what you wished for?", josh asked.

"nuh uh or it won't come true. now get out so i can get dressed. i want to look presentable when i eat the delicious birthday breakfast my mom makes for
me every year.", tyler said playfully shooing josh out of his room. josh pouted before ruffing up tyler's hair and running out before tyler could slap him (playfully of course).

before tyler could skip to his closet to get his outfit (he already knew what he wanted to wear) his phone started to ring. tyler tightened the pink fluffy blanket around his shoulders before gasping when he saw dallon was facetiming him.

tyler excitedly picked up his phone accepting the call. dallon's face popped up, he looked like he just woke up probably from his alarm. his hair was a mess of floof from just sleeping on it and he was shirtless. "hey ty. i just wanted to say happy birthday. i know we haven't been friends for a long time but you mean a lot to me and i'm happy you're alive another year.", dallon smiled admiring his crush through his phone screen.

tyler's eyes teared up, he had to put down his phone and let go of his blanket to wipe at his eyes. "dally you're so sweet. thank you so much.", tyler smiled.

"i didn't mean to make you cry.", dallon looked surprised.

"don't worry it's just tears of joy. is your car still in the shop? maybe josh can pick you up again.", tyler said moving to his closet so he can lay his outfit out on his bed. his phone was propped up on his dresser so dallon could see him.

"yeah it is but brendon's giving me a ride today. i'll just see you at school. i can't wait to give you the biggest hug.", dallon said. the real reason brendon was giving him a ride was because josh was still annoyed at dallon and the tall boy didn't understand why.

"i'll be looking forward to it dally. i'll see you then.", tyler said picking up his phone.

"bye beautiful.", dallon smiled.

neither of them wanted to hang up first so they were just staring at each other until tyler giggled which caused dallon to smile wider. "aren't you going to hang up?", tyler asked sweetly.

"no you do it.", dallon chuckled.

"no you."

"ty we both have to get ready for school. we'll see each other soon.", dallon said.

tyler nodded before hanging up so he could get back to business. he put his phone on the charger because god knows he's always on that device. tyler finally took off josh's shirt that he was wearing throwing it in his hamper successfully (it was across his room). he was now left in his red lace panties that coincidentally matched the long sleeved oversized stripe sweater he was going to pair with overalls.

after tyler was dressed in that he put on dark blue socks that had ruffles at the top and then blue/green vans. he went through his jewelry collection before deciding on a silver necklace that had a koala dangling from it. he paired it with the matching silver koala earrings that ryan bought him two christmases ago.

the brunette boy looked into the mirror seeing the cupcake in the reflection on his dresser. he decided to quickly eat it before doing his make up that way he wouldn't mess anything up. he took a bite and instantly fell in love. tyler figured it was just a regular cupcake from the local bakery but it still tastes like heaven. tyler ate it in 3 bites before cringing at his messy fingers. he didn't wanna go out into the hall to get to the bathroom in fear of seeing his family before he was completely ready.

"how the heck am i gonna clean my fingers.", tyler pouted. he rolled his eyes before sticking a finger at a time in his mouth, licking up all the icing off clean. his fingers were now wet with saliva but that was better than them being sticky. he rubbed his hands on a dirty item of clothing before returning to his vanity so he can attempt to do his make up.

tyler doesn't usually wear anything heavy, it's usually lip gloss, mascara, and high light. he's not necessarily amazing at make up either but he isn't bad. he sat down and got everything he needed. tyler grabbed one of his expensive eyeshadow palettes that he didn't remember the brand of because he painted rainbows and unicorns on the front of it. he dipped a brush in the maroon and dabbed it on both of his lids. afterwards he tried his best at winged eyeliner and it paid off because it looked better than what he'd ever expect. he opened his mermaid high light palette and used his finger to put a blue shade in his inner corner. after mascara was done he gawked at his extremely long eyelashes.

tyler put a bunch of other products on his face  he'd never used too much before if it was a regular day. after coating his lips in strawberry lip gloss and putting a bit of pink high light on his nose and cheeks he deemed himself ready.

he was nervous for everyone's reactions at school but he knew here at home his mom's would be shocked. josh would be shocked. he pulled the straps on his backpack and left his room after grabbing his phone. he checked to see if josh was in his room but he heard the boy talking to kelly and laura downstairs so he followed his voice.

"—yeah you should have saw the look on his face as soon as he woke up. i've never seen him so happy.", josh was saying. there was breakfast laid out on the table but tyler's was decorated the prettiest. he had a stack of pancakes covered in frosting and his favorite fruits.

once tyler was seen by kelly she gasped and ran to her son to grab him by his waist and spin him around. "MY BABY IS GROWING UP MY BABY IS SIXTEEN YEARS OLD."

tyler giggled and gave his mom a kiss on the cheek before hugging laura. "happy birthday precious.", laura said.

"thank you guys. breakfast looks so good.", tyler said. his mom's complemented his make up, he had to gently move kelly's hands away from his face because she was tempted to pinch his cheeks.

tyler's eyes moved to josh who had his mouth hung wide open and his eyes all big. he looked like a squirrel. tyler blushed and shifted where he was standing because he couldn't tell if josh liked his make up or not.

"ty... you look so pretty.", josh said clearing his throat.

tyler instantly smiled and took his seat next to josh's. "thank you."

after everyone finished their breakfast (tyler thanked kelly and laura multiple times) tyler grabbed his lunch box ready to head to school but his lunch box felt empty. tyler pouted and opened it up. inside was a gift card to taco bell, his favorite fast food place in the entire world. "oh my goodness! you guys are bringing me taco bell for lunch?", tyler smiled.

"they're going to be delivering a party pack for you and your friends when your lunch period starts.", laura said with fondness. tyler gave her an extra hug before finally following josh out to his car.

"are you excited for your small party later today?", josh asked as he started the car.

"of course! i'm looking forward to being with the people i love... and presents.", tyler giggled. josh laughed too. he was still shocked from how beautiful tyler looked today. he was always beautiful but josh wasn't expecting tyler to wear a full face of make up today.

"were you on the phone after i left your room? i thought i heard talking but it could have been our mom's tv. i don't know why they always have it up so loud.", josh said.

tyler smiled. "i was on facetime with dallon. sorry if we were being too loud.", tyler said.

josh's smile faded as he stopped at a red light. he was talking to dallon? since when were tyler and dallon all buddy buddy. yeah tyler was friends with everyone in josh's friend group but josh would have thought that ashley and tyler would be the most connected. dallon was watching tyler while tyler didn't even have bottoms on and that thought made josh very upset.

"you weren't loud at all. i just could hear faint giggling.", josh explained. he passed debby's house because he didn't want to deal with any of her shit this early in the morning and he knew it would bring down tyler's mood.

"you aren't picking up debby?", tyler asked shocked.

"jenna's got that covered. hey it's your turn to show me a song.", josh changed the subject.

"omg yay. i have the perfect one for my perfect day. it's called birthday and it's by the sugarcubes.", tyler connected to josh's bluetooth and pressed play. the 80's song began to play and tyler watched josh's facial expressions to see if he'd like it or not.

josh swayed along to the nice beat and appreciated the girl's voice. this sounded like something his mom would enjoy. "how did you find this song?", josh asked.

"oh ryan and i were searching through this 80's playlist a year ago and i just fell in love.", tyler said with his eyes closed.

the song was over by the time they were in the school parking lot so tyler opened his eyes. "did you like it joshie?", tyler asked innocently.

"i loved it. and i love your outfit.", josh said. tyler smiled before getting out of
the car and walking by josh's side. when they entered the building they saw that their friends were already at their table. tyler gasped when he saw dallon and began to run to him. he ignored everyone looking at him in wonder when they realized he was wearing make up.

dallon looked up from talking to brendon when he heard loud footsteps. he turned his head and saw tyler coming straight for him with the biggest smile. dallon put down the rose he was holding so he could pick tyler up when he jumped into his arms. dallon begun to spin tyler around laughing lightly.

tyler giggled and put his feet on the ground. dallon finally got a good look at his face and his heart stuttered. "oh wow tyler you look beautiful as always. happy birthday.", dallon said giving tyler the rose. suddenly someone started clapping from like a table down and everyone in the cafeteria followed. they were all clapping because dallon gave tyler a rose? josh rolled his eyes and sat down in his usual spot.

tyler smelled the flower and grinned. "thank you dally.", tyler said before sitting next to josh. ashley was on the other side of jenna so dallon got to sit next to tyler.

everyone wished him a happy birthday and complemented his make up, tyler thanking everyone and giving them all 10 second hugs (ashley got a 15 second hug because she wouldn't let him go). then everyone started to argue who's presents tyler would like the best.

"tyler is going to absolutely adore my gifts like trust me whatever y'all got him will not compare.", brendon smirked.

"knowing you, you probably got him a dildo.", ashley rolled her eyes.

"what is that? is it fun?", tyler asked. he had one leg over the other a hand in dallon's under the table. tyler thought they were platonically holding hands, dallon thought tyler was interested in him too. josh was pissed either way.

"it's a toy.", brendon said.

tyler gasped. "well then i'm sure i'll adore the dildo!", tyler smiled.

"no ty it's a toy for adults. brendon didn't get you a dildo.", josh rolled his eyes.

"oh. mkay well just know i'll love everyone's gifts equally.", tyler said before the arguing started up again. it was mostly the boys going at it which made the girls roll their eyes and tyler pout.

"you guys can fight for second place title i already know i hold first place.", josh said.

"in your dreams dun.", brendon went on.

"it's not that big of a deal but if we're arguing i might as well say i probably have the best gift. period.", dallon continued.

tyler groaned loudly which caught everyone's attention. once everybody quieted down tyler looked down at the table. "please stop going back n forth with each other cus i already said i'll love all the gifts equally.", he mumbled shyly which caused dallon to rub his knuckles.

"sorry bumble. we'll stop.", josh said ignoring dallon's hand. tyler gave josh a smile and leaned his head on dallon's shoulder until the bell for first period rung.

tyler wasn't excited for classes but at least it was his birthday.

it was lunch time now and brendon and dallon were carrying the taco bell party pack boxes that were delivered to the front office. once they were put down at the table everyone grabbed their first two happily munching.

"i can't wait to meet your mom. she sounds like a sweetheart.", dallon said to tyler.

tyler nodded his head with a smile. "she really is. where do you think i get it from?", tyler giggled. he had sauce on the corner of his lip so dallon wiped it off with finger and then wiped his hands with a napkin. tyler blushed a pretty pink whispering a thank you.

just then debby came up to the table placing herself in her boyfriend's lap. she gave him a long kiss on the lips that josh had no choice to pretend to enjoy.

"hey baby, hi guys.", debby smiled to everyone at the table even tyler. everyone muttered replies, jenna's being the only one that was genuinely sweet.

"it's your birthday right tyler?", debby asked.

tyler nodded not trusting his words. he'd probably stutter and she'd just make a fool of him like that morning in front of her house.

"16 huh? joshie remember what we did for my sixteenth birthday?", debby asked with a giggle.

"how about we not make this about you deborah.", brendon rolled his eyes.

debby glared at him before looking towards jenna. jenna raised her eyebrows with a nervous smile. "i need to talk to you.", debby said. she got off of josh's lap and pulled jenna up by her arm.

"okay debby jeez i'm coming you do not have to pull me.", jenna replied gently.

the girls walked off towards the bathrooms. "when are you going to break up with her? we know you don't love her anymore.", ashley said.

this caught tyler's attention. he looked at josh awaiting his answer but the boy just continued to devour his taco. he finally met eyes with tyler. they held eye contact for a bit tyler silently pleading for him to answer the question.

"i don't know. we're complicated. i know she's not the nicest but we've been through a lot together and i'm not sure if i'm ready to let her go.", josh said to everyone.

"josh she puts you through hell. the face you make after the both of you kiss is priceless.", dallon chimed in.

"i don't think i asked you.", josh raised his voice.

tyler visibly shuddered at the tone. he's never heard him so upset. everyone noticed which made josh sigh and dallon pull tyler closer to him. josh stood up from the table and grabbed his backpack with a huff. tyler looked up confusingly but before he could ask what was wrong josh was already walking away just as jenna and debby were coming back.

"where's josh?", she asked.

"walked off didn't say where he was going.", ashley muttered.

"hmph. come on jenna.", debby said. debby started to walk off while jenna grabbed her backpack.

"i'm sorry guys i'll see you all later. i can't wait for your birthday party ty it's going to absolutely rule.", the blonde girl said before following her best friend.

tyler frowned as he felt tears poke at his eyes. why was everyone leaving. i mean sure so far it was only josh and jenna gone but everyone else will probably soon follow. tyler put his taco down because he suddenly wasn't hungry anymore thoughts of making josh upset roaming his mind.

"okay so the energy at the moment is very tense but after school we're going to have the best time at tyler's party. this is his special day let's not forget that.", ashley smiled. everyone nodded giving tyler encouraging smiles, dallon rubbing his knuckles.

everything would be fine. perfect.

when tyler got home (ryan picked him up after school) he gasped at the set up in the downstairs area of the house. their were pastel balloons everywhere even some tied to the staircase in a pattern (pink, purple, blue, yellow). he also admired the led lights that casted a yellow glow but there was also a remote that had different settings so he could choose whatever colors he wanted. there were party hats and hello kitty plates, napkins, cups, ect. the neighbourhood's i love you. album was playing softy on a record player and tyler couldn't be more happier.

he grabbed ryan's hand to run up the stairs to his mom's room. after abandoning his backpack in his room he ran through the already opened door and jumped on his parents bed to give them big hugs. "i absolutely love it oh my god.", tyler smiled.

"we knew you would. there's also treats and stuff in the kitchen. we knew jenna would be baking lots of stuff but we still baked your cake and other things.", laura said.

"thank you guys so much. everyone will be here soon i believe. just promise after you meet my friends you'll come back upstairs.", tyler asked kelly. laura of course already knew everyone. kelly rolled her eyes and nodded her head.

"josh isn't here?", laura asked.

"we haven't spoken since lunch. ryan gave me a ride here, i don't know where josh is.", tyler said.

after ryan spoke for a little bit tyler pulled him out and closed the door. they sat on the living room couch for a bit swaying to the music and doing random things on their phone until the front door opened. josh came inside looking around his house. "wow.", he said to himself.

tyler gasped and jumped off the sofa to go give josh a hug. josh put his arms around tyler who was holding on tightly. ryan raised an eyebrow but continued to answer snapchats on his phone. "joshie are you mad?", tyler let out. he's been wanting to know all day if he'd done something to upset his brother.

"not at all. earlier i just needed some space from the lunch table but i promise i'm okay. aren't you excited for your party? and then for everyone to sleepover?"

tyler eagerly nodded his head. he couldn't wait to play fun activities and watch movies with his friends. with josh. tyler really hoped that his birthday wish happened. the thought of what he wished for made him blush since it would be the first time something like that would ever happen.

the three boys chilled inside of tyler's room ryan and josh learning more about each other so they could become fond of each other too. ryan would soon be added into the group of friends and tyler was happy about that.

once 5 o clock rolled around it was almost time for everyone to start showing up. josh had already put his gifts on the present table earlier so now all everyone had to do was wait. troye sivan's blue neighbourhood album was now playing in the living room when there was a knock at the door.

tyler sprinted to open the door. brendon and dallon smiling when tyler gave them hugs. "hey guys come in.", the boy said. brendon was carrying a red birthday bag while dallon had a bag and a wrapped present in his hands.

after they put their stuff on the table jenna and ashely walked inside baring gifts and everyone admired how excited tyler looked.

"help yourself to refreshments 'm gonna go get my mama so she can meet you guys.", tyler said running up the stairs.

he came back down with kelly who said hi to everyone (dallon giving her a hug which warmed tyler's heart). tyler made his mom go back upstairs and everyone was left in the living room waiting for something to do.

"okay so what first? i have a couple of board games and a bunch of movies we can watch.", tyler smiled.

"what movies?", jenna asked as she brought out the cupcakes she baked at home. she handed one to everyone, they all thanked her.

"you can look through them they're over there.", tyler pointed to where his movies were stacked on racks by the tv.

jenna and ashley went over to look both of them gasping when their eyes caught different movies.

"moonrise kingdom", ashley said at the same time jenna said "the labyrinth".

tyler giggled. "looks like you guys have to play rock paper scissors."

ashely narrowed her eyes. "best two out of three?"

"you're so on.", jenna said.

tyler watched them play to make sure everything was fair while josh, brendon, dallon, and ryan were sitting on the couch with cups filled to brim with cranberry juice cocktail.

"isn't he adorable?", ryan asked the boys. he was sitting in between brendon and dallon.

brendon instantly nodded his head agreeing with whatever ryan said. he wasn't really paying attention because he was too busy admiring ryan's face which ryan was definitely noticing. he thought it was cute.

"definitely. he's the cutest person i've ever seen.", dallon smiled.

josh scoffed which caught their attention.

"bro are you okay? first you got pissed at lunch and i thought maybe you were just upset about something but now i'm starting to wonder if you're mad at me or something. is it because i'm into your step brother?", dallon whispered.

"i just don't want him getting hurt. he's fragile if you couldn't tell.", josh muttered.

"you think i'd hurt him? how could you see me like that.", dallon asked.

"i'm sorry okay. i'll chill. i've just been feeling upset over debby. she should be here celebrating tyler's birthday not at some party with college guys.", josh said.

"not to be rude or anything but debby seems like a bitch and i haven't even met her. tyler doesn't like her at all i'm sure he's glad that she's not here.", ryan said.

"tea.", brendon said which made ryan giggle.

"don't worry we don't like her either.", dallon said before giving josh a bro hug. they've been friends since forever and he hated fighting with anyone.

"okay jenna won so it looks like we're watching the labyrinth!", tyler said.

once the movie was on tyler and josh gathered blankets and pillows so everyone could be as comfortable as possible. they put some snacks and treats in the middle for everyone to reach. brendon was on the left side of the couch trying to pay attention to the movie but ryan was just pretty y'know. ryan was sitting next to him cuddled up to tyler who was also holding hands with dallon under the blanket. josh and the girls were sharing a bag of animal crackers with icing on it.

"god david bowie is so hot in this movie. and you can definitely see his junk in those leggings.", jenna smiled.

"dick is disgusting.", ashley muttered.

"shut up lesbian.", brendon said which made ashley throw an animal cracker at him. brendon bit the head off and winked at ashley which caused everyone to giggle.

at some point everyone was actually invested in the movie. the girl was trying to find her baby brother who was captured by the goblin king but she just couldn't find her way around the maze. not by herself anyway.

"brendon looks like the goblins.", josh said which made everyone start laughing except brendon.

"i don't know joshie you and that goblin right there could be twins.", tyler said pointing at the screen with the hand that wasn't in dallon's.

"roasted.", dallon laughed.

everyone quieted down again until the movie was over. tyler turned on the lights so he could take the movie out.

"who wants to play candy land!", tyler said with a smile.

"omg we haven't played that in forever.", ryan said removing himself from the sofa to sit next to tyler on the carpet.

"there's only enough for 4 characters sooo.", tyler said.

"i wanna play.", jenna and dallon said at the same time.

"the rest of us can play uno.", josh said getting out the cards from the games they have under the coffee table.

everyone sat on the floor playing their games. tyler choose to be the yellow character, jenna the blue, ryan the red and dallon the green. tyler went first and went up two purples. ryan passed him by going up two reds.

"cheater.", tyler smiled.

ryan giggled as jenna got moved up one green.

dallon picked up a card and then moved his character moving up two purples just like tyler had. they all took turns sharing laughs and having a good time. eventually jenna got a card with the ice cream on it so she had to go all the way back to the ice cream part of the board when she was near finishing.

"damn it!", she frowned.

dallon pulled out a card that had the chocolate on it which was already closest to the kingdom so it looked like he'd be winning even though tyler was still close behind.

tyler gasped and pulled out a card. he was only able to go up one red. he sighed realizing dallon was probably going to win. meanwhile brendon had just put down a +2 in uno and josh smirked also putting down a +2. the boys chuckled waiting for ashley to draw 4 cards until SHE pulled out a +2. brendon raised his eyebrows while josh nervously looked down at his cards. brendon put down another +2 josh panicking. he had to draw 8 fucking cards.

"fuck the both of you.", he yelled.

tyler looked up from his game to scold at josh. "joshua no cussing.", he said sternly. josh apologized because picking up his cards.

"he's just mad because he had to draw a lot of cards.", ashley giggled.

tyler laughed too. "it's okay josh i feel your pain. dallon is beating all of our butts right now."

ashley put down a red 2 shouting uno. brendon placed down a red 7, he had 3 cards left. josh skipped ashley which caused her to stick the finger at him. brendon skipped josh and laughed at his angry face.

"HAHA MOTHERFUCKERS!", ashley said putting down her last card a +4. tyler rolled his eyes at her language and watched her celebrate. josh and brendon had wide mouths. tyler put the cards away after dallon won. once all of the cards were put away the gang stood up.

"what next ty?", josh asked.

"cake and karaoke?", he replied.

everyone nodded. jenna went to go get the cake while tyler set up the karaoke machine to the tv. once the chocolate moose cake with pink icing (and sixteen candles) was on the coffee table everyone stood around it and began to sing happy birthday. tyler smiled and made the same wish as before. double the hope. after the cake was cut jenna and ashley tried to find a song to duet.

"how about almost is never enough by ari ft. nathan?", jenna asked.

"i want to sing ariana's part.", ashley said.

"no i'm the one who came up with the idea!", jenna said.

"and? you sang alto in middle school you shouldn't mind singing the guy's part.", ashley raised her eyebrows.

"just rock paper scissors again.", ryan said.

"no it's fine. ashley can sing ariana's part since we watched the movie i wanted.", jenna smiled.

the boys watched them sing while eating multiple pieces of cake. both of their singing wasn't horrible but they probably shouldn't try to make careers out of singing y'know. once they were done josh and dallon forced brendon to sing any song by queen.

brendon didn't like many people knowing about his angelic voice because he thought the fact that he was good singer would make people laugh at him. boy was he wrong. lots of girls found it hot and maybe ryan would too.

"come on i wanna hear your voice!", ryan said encouragingly.

brendon nodded and searched up bohemian rhapsody instrumental on youtube. he hit every note perfectly closing his eyes at some parts. he made eye contact with ryan and the boys kinda just looked at each other for a while. it was intimate something new.

everyone clapped when the song ended, brendon putting down the microphone. "dude that was amazing.", ryan said.

brendon blushed. "you're definitely gonna be a rockstar some day.", tyler said.

"ty do you wanna sing kali uchis's part in after the storm and i'll rap tyler's part?", josh asked.

tyler gasped. "yes omg i love that song.", both of them stood up. they had to stand next to each other closely because there was only one microphone.

josh searched up the song and the both of them swayed to the beat their friends  clapping along. tyler started to sing all nerves washed away. josh watched him with a bright smile. his brother had a beautiful voice. soon josh started to rap tyler, the creators verse.

the two boys had fun singing together and jumping around. tyler grabbed jenna's hand and twirled her around which made everyone chuckle. when the song was over everyone clapped while the boys caught their breath.

"that was definitely entertaining to watch.", ryan laughed. he was sitting very close to brendon almost in his lap. they were sharing a plate of cake with two forks. tyler smiled at that ryan giving him a subtle wink.

"you guys want some more drinks? i'm sweaty now.", tyler said fanning his face.

dallon stood up. "yeah i'll help you carry them."

josh watched them disappear in the kitchen. he bit the inside of his lip. why was he feeling so weird. maybe he was just missing debby and getting jealous from all of the affection tyler and dallon have been showing each other. not because he liked tyler but because he missed debby. sure he'd just go with that.

dallon smiled. "of course ty." he turned tyler back around by his waist and picked him up like that so tyler could reach the juice. tyler giggled as he grabbed seven of the drinks. when dallon put them back down a few fell so they both reached down to pick them back up.

their hands brushed against each other when they went to pick up the same one so they both looked up at each other, tyler looking up at dallon because even thought they were both crouched down dallon still managed to be taller than tyler.

tyler was staring at the boy with a blush when he felt his fingers start to tingle. dallon gave him a lopsided smile. they were both so close to each other. tyler could feel dallon's breath on his face. it smelled like cake.

"your breath smells like cake.", tyler giggled.

so he nodded his head quickly. dallon was so nice to him, they could have some type of future. dallon smiled and leaned in at the same time as tyler. tyler titled his head as dallon cupped his cheeks.

when their lips pressed together both boys felt a spark. dallon because he was head over heels for tyler and tyler because it was his first kiss. he didn't know what he was doing but he's seen plenty of romance movies so he follows along to how dallon is leading him.

"we should go so we can open presents. how does that sound?", dallon asked. tyler nodded in a daze.

the two boys gathered the drinks and went back to the living room. everyone was just on their phones until dallon said it was time to open presents. josh tried to ignore how long both boys took just to get juice. how tyler sat next to dallon closer than usual on the big chair that could sit up to 3 people.

"okay who wants to go first?", tyler asked.

"i will.", ryan said. he handed tyler a bag. tyler removed the gift wrapping paper and gasped once he saw what was inside. he pulled out a 'what do you meme cards game mean girl addition'.

"that time we went to barnes and noble i saw you eying it and i knew you wanted it.", ryan smiled. tyler thanked him many times before being handed a gift from brendon.

tyler pulled out a gift card to get his finger and toe nails done at one of the top spas that they had in ohio. along with a stuffed animal bear that had a speaker built inside of it so he could play music.

"my mom works at the spa so i was able to hook you up. i bet you're mostly excited about the pink speaker bear though.", brendon said.

"thanks a lot brendon. i love it.", tyler said.

next tyler opened up jenna's gift. it was a book and the cover was a picture of the group of friends sitting together at lunch. their were animated food stickers also covering the front and tyler soon learned why when he opened it up. jenna made him a cook book. it had different type of treats that jenna knew tyler loved and they were all jenna's recipe. tyler also pulled out a kit that had over 100 lip gloss flavors.

"oh my god jenna thank you so much.", he smiled.

"of course.", she smiled back.

"okay who's next?", tyler asked. josh and dallon both gave tyler their presents at the same time. josh looked at dallon before sitting back down.

"joshie i'll open yours first.", tyler said. he opened up the wrapped gift and it was a lana del rey vinyl.

"you remembered!", tyler smiled.

"yes but keep looking there's more.", josh said.

tyler looked through the bag pulling out merch from a few of his favorite artists. it was all oversized which tyler appreciated josh remembering that detail. "i love it. i'm gonna wear the billie eilish one to sleep in tonight."

"man i want a billie eilish shirt.", ashley muttered.

"so buy one.", josh said.

"okay okay i'm opening dally's present now.", tyler rolled his eyes playfully. josh rolled his eyes because he was sick of the nickname tyler chose to call dallon.

"here you go.", dallon handed the box to tyler. tyler unwrapped it (the wrapping paper was peppa pig which everyone except josh found hilarious). tyler gasped loudly when he saw what dallon had got him.

"A POLAROID?", tyler screamed. he was holding a box to a baby pink polaroid camera. he's wanted one for so flipping long.

"yeah i remember you told me that you really wanted one. i also got you these velvet pink vans because well i just know how much you adore the color pink and yeah.", dallon said as tyler opened the shoe box.

"dally you spent a lot of money. thank you so much.", tyler blushed as he gave dallon a hug. josh frowned. josh didn't get a hug.

everyone was impressed with their tall friend. they hadn't expected dallon to go all out. especially since he hasn't known tyler for even a week. he must be in deep.

"okay i'm the last one.", ashley said. she handed tyler a bag.

when he pulled out the paper he was met with pastel colored berets (like what french people wear not the hair clips), jewelry, and-

tyler gasped. "oh my goodness ashley.", tyler blushed.

brendon, dallon, and josh looked at each other. what? they all said in their heads. ryan stood up to go stand next to tyler as did ashley and jenna.

"thank you ashley. thank you everyone. for coming and getting me presents and spending time with me. i had a lot of fun i hope you guys did too.", tyler smiled.

they all group hugged before tyler took his presents upstairs to his room and made sure his room was tidy.

jenna, ryan, and ashley started to clean the kitchen and living room area while the other boys stood next to each other none of them uttering a word. they were all shocked that tyler wore panties. i mean they should have somewhat guessed it but it was just shocking to find out.

jenna and ashley went into the closet to change, ryan changing in front of tyler because brendon, dallon, and josh went to go change in josh's room. everyone went back to tylers room when they were done.

tyler had a sofa that turned into a bed so ryan, brendon, and josh were laying on that and talking while ashley and jenna were giggling about something in tyler's bed. tyler was close to falling asleep with dallon's arms around him.

"ty do you want me to put your phone on the charger? you're literally falling asleep with it in your hands.", dallon whispered. tyler nodded and gave dallon his phone.

"goodnight guys.", tyler mumbled before laying his head in dallon's arms their chests facing each other. everyone said night (dallon placing a kiss on tyler's forehead before falling asleep himself).

there was a night light on so everyone could still somewhat see each other. dallon and tyler were the only two asleep so ashley and jenna got out the bed to go talk to the others.

"aren't they adorable? i think they're going to start dating.", jenna smiled.

"it's possible. dallon would be tyler's first boyfriend.", ryan said.

they all chatted for awhile minus josh because he didn't want to talk about tyler and dallon. soon enough ash and jen went back to tyler's bed to go to sleep. ryan was cuddled up next brendon. they both had wide smiles on their faces.

josh didn't have anyone to cuddle up to. he only had his thoughts. thoughts of how there's a possibility that tyler likes dallon more than him. thoughts of tyler in general, his smile, his laugh, his outfits, his heart.
