Chapter 5
Yeosang waited for the perfect opening, getting ready to tell them about his thoughts. Just as everything went completely silent, he saw an opportunity to speak and snatched it.
“I want Jongho to help me,” Yeosang blurted out, instantly regretting it the second it left his mouth.
He thought his parents were on the verge of choking but he simply watched them in silence. He didn't know why they were so dramatic. It wasn't as if they were expecting him to remain unwilling forever but still, the news shocked them.
“Why the sudden change of heart?” Mr Kang asked, glancing at his son with a curious expression after taking a sip of water to calm himself down.
“It's just because I don't want to faint forever. You know, it would be nice to live without fainting at all but here I am.”
"Hmm. Are you sure you aren't starting to fall for him?"
Yeosang spluttered over his drink and aggressively coughed. He was but he wouldn't admit it, yet.
"Absolutely not! I won't be catching feelings for him!" Yeosang remarked, crossing his arms in defiance.
"Alright, alright," Mrs Kang attempted to soothe, not wanting a dramatic scene at the moment. "I’ll invite them for dinner tomorrow and we can explain your situation to them, good?"
Yeosang nodded and clapped happily, stopping himself midway when he noticed the look his Father gave him and scoffed before taking his plate to the sink and running up the stairs to his room.
He snuggled contentedly under his fluffy blanket and sighed in relief when he figured he would be able to somehow stop his syndrome soon enough even if it would take long. He was eager to know if the younger male had any ideas on how to begin and desperately hoped that it would all stop within the month. A mere month was left and if Yeosang was able to control the fainting in the presence of Jongho, he would be able to control the fainting anywhere else. So the task that lay ahead was grand.
He stared at his ceiling that glowed and Yeosang had a sudden thought that nearly made him gag out loud.
"Now imagine I actually did end up liking him a lot and we cuddled right here as we looked at the stars?"
The realization of what he said made him quickly slap a hand over his mouth and he glanced at the door to ensure that the universe wasn't against him and had sent one of his parents who would hear those words.
Luckily, he was safe and no one heard him. He just hoped everything would go smoothly and without any hitches.

"I'm so glad you guys came!" Mrs Kang gushed as the Choi's family of four walked into the warm house.
Yeosang awkwardly stood in the corner of the living room watching as everyone entered and he refused to glance at Jongho even though he felt the younger's stares on him.
"Yeosang, dear?" Mrs Kang said, interrupting his process of trying to ignore everyone. "Come say hello."
Suppressing the biggest sigh and faking an excited smile, Yeosang walked over to them and greeted each of them. No one missed the way he completely ignored Jongho and instead kind of nodded his head at the taller without actually looking at him.
"Oh? Did something happen between them?" Mrs Choi asked, a bit surprised to see the action.
"Oh no, no. That's actually one of the reasons we invited you, to discuss Yeosang's behaviour."
Yeosang rolled his eyes at the way his Mother worded everything. She made it sound as if he was a problem child and needed disciplining when the situation was really much different.
Without waiting for anyone, Yeosang headed into the kitchen and took a seat around the table, hoping they would speed up and allow him to eat all the good food. Fortunately, they arrived not too long after and Yeosang received the pleasure of having Jongho seated directly in front of him.
It was a horrible place but he wasn't going to complain, yet. He would have to get through dinner first without fainting and so the process of painfully eating began.
Yeosang figured that if he studied everyone at the table carefully, that would give him enough time to focus on everything except Jongho until the discussion would begin.
He noticed that Mr Choi and Jongho had the same face structure and nose. He noticed that Mrs Choi had the same mouth, nose, and eyes as Jongho. He noticed that Jongho's younger brother had the same features as his older brother yet they didn't look alike. Everything about the Choi family reminded the male of Choi Jongho and he was ready to rip his hair out.
If he saw Jongho in someone else one more time, he would actually rip out his hair.
He glanced at the youngest Choi once more, still not knowing his name and not caring about it either, and all he could see was Jongho instead of the other unique face.
The male felt himself grow dizzy and he quickly grabbed his head, steadying himself before he would pass out before completing his cherry pie. He had made it and he was immensely proud of it and thought it was the most delicious pie he had ever tasted.
"So," Mr Kang began, suddenly making Yeosang nearly lose his appetite. "We just wanted to discuss the reasoning behind why Yeosang doesn't look at Jongho nor interacts with him."
All ears around the table perked up and their gazes drifted towards the male who sunk in his seat and prayed that everything would be alright. Yeosang hoped that they wouldn't think he was a nutcase just grasping for straws in the hope that he was normal. At least he would know their thoughts in a few minutes.
"To make this short and sweet, Yeosang was diagnosed with Stendhal Syndrome from childhood," Mr Kang said, looking at all the puzzled faces. "He used to faint excessively and so it turns out that he can't look at anything overwhelmingly beautiful or else he'll pass out. I know it sounds strange and unbelievable but it's true."
The sudden information made the Choi’s confused. Why would Mr Kang tell them that? It wasn't as if it had anything to do with them so why did they have to know?
"So how does this apply to Jongho and him not interacting?" Mr Choi asked, glancing at his son who had a thoughtful expression.
"That's the thing. Yeosang's brain processes Jongho's face as an overwhelmingly beautiful creation and so he passes out every time he looks at him."
The Choi parents looked a bit hesitant and uncertain, glancing at Yeosang and then Jongho as if processing what they were hearing and wondering if it was accurate. They weren't willing to accept it just yet and thought it was far-fetched.
"Now that sounds a bit unbelievable, doesn't it?" Mrs Choi awkwardly chuckled. "I mean, he can control it though, right?"
"No. It's much more difficult to control than you think. He's been trying for years but he can't," Mr Kang replied, taking a sip of water as he watched the way his son uncomfortably squirmed around and blatantly avoided the hard stare Jongho was directing at him.
"But don't you think it's not exactly the reason? What if it's something else?" Mrs Choi asked, hoping that it really was another reason. She wasn't against Yeosang thinking her son was stunning but nor was she exactly fond of the idea. "Isn't there a cure?"
Yeosang was getting upset. Did this woman really think he would spend all his life fainting when there would be a cure? She really needed a mental checkup before speaking if that was the case. Who in their right mind would want to live as such if there was a way to help themselves? Definitely not Yeosang.
"Mrs Choi, to say this as nicely as possible," Yeosang spoke up, earning a glare from his parents but he ignored them. He was going to speak even if he said something rude. "One, it’s not something else and I know it, and two, I’m not that stupid to live my life fainting all the time when there could be a possible cure. In reality, there is a cure but one of the steps for me being cured would involve me fucking your son."
Mr Kang sighed, gripping his head and Mrs Kang slapped her son's shoulder.
"Language and don't say things as if you have no morals," Mrs Kang scolded, sending an apologetic look to the woman.
Jongho remained quiet and so did his little brother. They were both trying to process the entire crisis and Jongho was more conflicted than anyone else since he was somehow involved in the entire ordeal.
"So that means Jongho won’t remain a virgin forever?" the seventeen-year-old Choi asked. "That means he'll finally grow up?"
His parents shot him glares and Yeosang let his head fall on the table, wanting the floor to swallow him. This was so embarrassing. They were making it sound as if he and Jongho were planning on fucking and had to get everything perfect before they could do it.
"Gunho! You can't speak like that," Mr Choi scolded.
"Well it seems that he will have to live with this. I see no way they can help each other," Mrs Choi commented. "Besides, all the times he's fainted only once was Jongho present."
Yeosang felt anger build up and he aggressively stood up, his chair pushing backwards with a loud scrape.
"Mrs Choi, just watch me then," Yeosang hissed, glaring at her.
"Yeosang, sit down."
"No, I'll show her," Yeosang snapped, not caring how rude he looked. "Look, I'm looking at you and not passing out. I can look at your husband and younger son and not pass out."
Yeosang looked at each of the individuals to prove that he wasn't affected by them.
"And now I look at Jongho."
Yeosang made eye contact with Jongho and before he knew it, he felt his body grow weak and the room started to spin. His arms went limp and he fell forward before slumping down on the ground. His head just about hit the ground but was caught right as it was about to make impact.
"Great. You made him angry and now he fainted," Jongho said, looking at his mother with disapproval. "I'll take him to his bed."
Without another word, Jongho lifted the body and trudged to Yeosang's room. He wasn't sure how he caught the male in time. One moment he was sitting on his side of the table and the next moment, he was holding Yeosang's head in worry on the other side of the table.
He didn't like the way his Mother had acted and the feeling to help the male in his arms consumed him. He would do all he could to help even if it resulted in them becoming a little more than just friendly.
"Sleep well," Jongho whispered, tucking Yeosang into his bed and pushing his hair away from his forehead.
The moment Jongho pushed back the hair, something in him froze. The way the male looked so peaceful on the bed was beautiful. His calm face, soft cheeks, pretty eyelashes. Jongho couldn't help but be mesmerized.
The visuals that Kang Yeosang served were gorgeous. He liked them. He suddenly wanted to wrap the male in a hug and kiss his soft cheeks and stroke his hair. He wanted a soft and cute relationship but alas, that wouldn't be possible.
He left the room with a sigh and headed down to where everyone silently sat staring at each other. Jongho wasn't sure what to do so he commented on the obvious.
"He's asleep on his bed."
No one answered but instead hummed and nodded in understanding. By the looks of it, it would be a bit difficult to completely heal Yeosang.
