Chapter 22

It was past mindnight back in the resort, Bryce was already asleep while Archie was calling his grandson's mother to check-up on him, "yes, Meredith, he's okay, he's alive," he joked but she did not find it humorous. "I'm kidding, he's here sleeping right now... What? no, I didn't took him to a casino, where the hell did you get that idea?... Look, Meredith, I assure you that Bryce is in good hands with me and his role model of a half-sister that never resort to gambling and of course, drinking alcohol."

All of a sudden, the doorbell rang so Archie went to the door and answered it but there was Gussie carrying the very tipsy Perfida, "hi! Papoli," she slurred.

"Yeah, Meredith, it's late, Goodnight." Archie quickly ended the conversation.

"Bye, half-Mommy," Perfida giggled in a ditzy tone.

"No, that's not Perfida, I was watching TV, okay, buh-bye." Archie turned of his phone then darted to the boys. "What happened?"

"We were playing a game... Drinking game," Gussie replied.

"How much did she have to drink?"

"More or less twenty shot of Tequila," the boy answered.

"Oh no, Peachy." Archie took his grandaughter because she was wobbly. "I knew should've train you for this. Please help me."

Gussie and Archie dragged the girl to the couch, "your sister and her friends don't go to parties, huh?" Lexi asked her twin ghost.

"Nope, we have Papoli for that," Perdita said.

"What game did you play?" Archie questioned him.

"Never had I ever," Gussie said. "Apparently there's a lot she had done that I never thought she did."

"I'm not gonna ask what were those. Anyway, thank you for bring her here. By the what about Vance, Leyo and March?"

"Vance is just as drunk, March and Leyo just had a few."

"Okay, Goodnight, Mr. Sweeney." The boy went out the door and closed it while Archie was left to take care of his drunk granddaughter who fell of the couch.

"Ow," Perfida moaned.

"Now I know how your grandmother felt when she had to take care of me when I get drunk," Archie sighed then.

----------

In the boys' room, like what Gussie said, Vance pretty much intoxicated and he kept rambling about a lot of thing while March and Leyo put him in his bed, "sorry, that I barf on you Leyo," he apologized.

Leyo had his vomit stuck in his fur, "it's okay," he replied dryly then took his towel then went to the bathroom. "I'll go take a shower."

"Come on, Vance, go to sleep," March told the tipsy boy.

"Hmm... which one of us do you think Perfida had a crush with?" Vance wondered as he was racking his head from the game.

March was getting flustered since Perfida got drunk to protect his secret, "Beats... me," he stammered. "Can't be me?"

"Me too, I have a boyfriend and it's definitely not, Leyo or maybe... but wait, Gussie did say among us, it could be him or Koru..."

"Maybe she did that to just have a drink."

"Yeah, maybe," Vance laughed.

"Anyway, too bad we'll never know who it is. Now come on, lie down."

Vance had his bloodshot eyes locked on March, "you know you're a good-looking guy, March," he stated. "I think any guy would be lucky to have you."

March did not know how to react to that and tried to ignore it since his friend was not himself, "thanks, Vance, that means a lot coming from you."

"No really, I'm serious. You are tall and handsome and look at this body." Vance reached to March's arm and caress it. "I'd kill for someone like you."

"You too," March mumbled and sat next to him then then gazed at Vance's eyes. "I like you, Vance."

Vance scooted closer, "aww, I like you too."

Their faces were just inches apart to one another and their lips quivered, March immediately brushed his lips to his crush. Vance let him and they just kept going even having their hands all over each other that they dropped themselves on the bed.

They were so busy that they didn't notice that Leyo got out from the showers with soaked fur and fresh clothes, "shit," he uttered.

"Leyo!" March gasped the two boys stopped their make out session and instantly flinched to the very stunned Livo although Vance seem unfazed. "It's not what it looks like."

Leyo was speechless and just pointed at them with his finger then suddenly, they heard Vance snoring so March quickly got from the bed. "What. The. Hell. March?" Leyo confronted.

"I know, I know, this looks bad, I fucked up," March whimpered then began to panic then looked at Vance dozing off. "But look. He's not gonna remember this. Sadly."

"What if he remembers?"

"He won't, I know because my Dad and my brothers does stupid stuff when they're drunk and forgotten it the next morning so please, please, keep it a secret."

"Until?"

"Until your grandkids have grandkids."

Leyo rolled his eyes, "fine," he exasperated.

------

The following morning, Gussie went to the lobby greeting the new guests but then he saw an unwanted guests coming and waving at him, it was Evan. "Hey, Man, how are you?" he greeted in a friendly manner.

"What are you doing here?" Gussie became hostile right away.

"Why? Can't a friend see you?"

"Funny, you weren't much of friend last night when Amber attacked me and my friend."

"I tried to stop her, didn't I?" Evan argued but Gussie just shook his head at him. "What do you want me to do? shove a bucket of guri-guri in her mouth?"

"Bye." Gussie walked away.

"Wait." Evan stopped him. "I'm not here to argue, I just want to talk."

"Okay, talk."

"Is it true? Are you really leaving the island?"

"Yes, I am," Gussie confirmed. "Is that what you want to hear?"

"Why?" Evan asked.

Gussie started to feel annoyed, "gee... I don't know, til now I'm not welcome in Thoto College, you guys stopped hanging out with me and like you guys, my father kinda hates me," he pointed out. "Why stay at a place where I'm not wanted?!"

"Gussie. I'm sorry but... after what happened to Lexi, it has not been easy for me too, okay? Amber was a wreck and she needed her friends."

"Lexi was my girlfriend, how do you think I felt? you guys made me feel like I killed her, you think I wanted to let her go into the woods and died there?"

"I get it, I get it, but... you can't just leave."

"Why do you care if I leave? the other day in the bar, you didn't want to do anything with and now that you heard that I'm going away, you come here and talk me out of it?"

"Well... I didn't think it'll go to that."

"I thought you guys wanted that, that the son of bitch who let Lexi go to the forbidden forest and died there, leave the island."

"No I don't."

"Evan, I... appreciate you coming here. I think. But I'm gonna go, my mind is made up and you know what, I should've done this a long time ago. Now will, you excuse me, I need to work on my requirements for my new school." Gussie went away after that while Evan just stood there feeling dejected that the conversation didn't go well.

----------

"Here." Archie gave his granddaughter. "I got it from the bar."

"Thanks, Ugh... My heeeaaad..." Perfida whined, feeling the hangover since her head was spinning and dark circles under her eyes plus she was still wearing the clothes she wore the previous night. "Please don't tell mom."

"Don't worry, I won't or else I won't here the end of yours and your brother's if she knew."

"Thanks." She drank the hangover juice but then she had this look of disgust. "Eww... what's in this stuff?"

"I don't know as long as it'll help you with your hangover."

"Do you ever get drunk like that, Lexi?" Perdita asked.

"Few times," the fellow ghost girl replied.

"My mom does that too." Bryce jumped in. "And she would say a lot of words that I don't understand."

"I forgot your little brother can hear us."

"Meh, he knows not to snitch, right?"

"Right?" Bryce nodded while chewing his waffles.

"Does Gussie knows that you are talking to his girlfriend's spirit?" Archie asked but Lexi seem on edge about the idea.

"Nope," Perfida said.

"Are you planning on telling him?"

"Hmm... maybe, I don't know, why? should I?"

"Not... necessarily but personally, I think you have to because it would be great that you told Gussie about you and Lexi now that you two are friends."

"I know I should but... I still want to... think about it."

------

Later, Perfida was on her way to the lobby with the two ghosts girl following her, "so are you going to tell Gussie about me?" Lexi asked.

"Probably, when... the time is right," Perfida shrugged. "But like anything else, it's not gonna be easy."

"But do you have to?"

The twins lifted a brow from her question, "Lexi, what are you saying?" Perdita quipped.

"Like do you really have to tell him that you are talking to me? the ghost me?"

"Do you want me to?"

"Well..." Lexi muttered feeling somewhat reluctant.

"Who are you talking to?" the heard a voice said, the girls flinched and darted their head to the person, it was Gussie.

"Gussie... hey..." Perfida stuttered trying to play it cool.

"Who were you talking to?" Gussie repeated.

"My....self, I tend to do that when... I'm... alone," she lied.

Gussie studied her while Perfida just made eye contact hoping it could pass just like that, "oh, I see it now," he chuckled.

"What?" Perfida began freaking out that even the ghost girls were panicking.

"You are having a hangover. It's cool, I get it."

The girls sighed in relief, "yeah... I guess, I still am," she continued lying. "But my grandfather gave me one of those hangover juice from the bar."

"Yeah, but those things still takes time to take in."

"Oh, okay."

"Come, I'll walk with you to the lobby, I saw March is there."

"Sure," Perfida grinned nervously. "By the way, thanks for bringing me in the room."

"Ah, no sweat, except maybe a barf or two in my jeep."

"Sorry," she cringed.

------------

"Wow, you look like someone punched you hard," March cringed while looking at Perfida's condition as she her head on the couch. "No offense."

"None taken," Perfida scoffed.

"Anyway, thank you for covering up last time, I owe you one."

"It's cool, consider it my thank you to you for covering up my secret in the past."

"I never asked you for anything from that but still... thank you."

"No problem."

Leyo smacked March's arm and gestured him to tell her what he did, "by the way, there's something you need to know," March sighed.

"What?" Perfida asked.

"I... may have K-I-S-S-E-D Vance last night," he confessed. "When he was drunk.

"YOU DID WHAT?!" Perfida and the ghosts girls aghasted.

"He did," Leyo confirmed bluntly.

"Oh my crapolai, March. How?"

"He was wasted and he came on to me..." March explained in a sheepish tone.

"DUDE, THE GUY WAS DRUNK, you took advantage of him," Perfida scolded.

"Not cool, March." Lexi shooked her head.

"So not cool," Perdita agreed.

"No, I took advantage of the situation," March defended.

"What about you? you just watched?" Perfida shifted to Leyo.

"I was in the showers," Leyo answered. "I caught them when I finished."

"March, noooo, you didn't."

"But he did."

"He so did," Lexi sneered.

"Yeah, he did," Perdita followed.

"Did what?" Vance came in.

March, Leyo and Perfida panicked, "NOTHING," they respond together.

"I... mean... except how crappy I feel right now from all the drinking last night," Perfida fibbed.

"You okay?" Vance snickered.

"Yeah, I think but I starting to feel good. What about you? How are you good as new while I had to wait the effects hangover juice?"

"Because this is not my first time drinking but the rest is fuzzy, I don't remember how I got in my bed."

March just kept quiet while Leyo scowled at him. "Same but I think I'm getting better," Perfida answered. "Remind me not to drink anymore."
