Chapter 21

At night, the kids went back to clean up and change to go out again but they are not the only one going out. The Sweeney siblings were in their room, Perfida was fixing her hair and Harrison was already sleeping in the bed, "I hope you still have some energy left, Bryce," Archie said. "Because we are going to the casino where you can win a Porsche."

"For his favorite sister?" Perfida joked.

"If he wins two."

"Good luck, Bro."

"Thanks, Peachy!" Bryce replied.

"So where are you and your friends going tonight?" Archie asked Perfida.

"I have no idea actually," Perfida shrugged.

"Anyway, Peach, I'm glad that you and Gussie are getting along from what I see, he really needs good friends like you and those boys."

"I know, thanks, Papoli. Hopefully, he and his Dad could mend things soon between them."

"Me too," Archie agreed. "Someday."

Perfida got a text and head to the door, "I have to go, I'll see you guys later. Good luck winning that Porsche."

------

Bryce and Archie were walking out the main entrance until Archie noticed something when he looked into his shoulder bag. "Shit, I forgot my wallet," he said. "I need to go back to the room and get it, you stay here."

"Okay, Papoli," the boy answered, Archie left his young grandson alone.

The eight-year-old took out his phone to play a game but a minute later, he heard soft humming sounds that caught his attention. Bryce looked up but no one was there so he continued playing but there it was again and that was when he saw a figure in white cloak standing across the road, apparently he was the only one who was not aware that it was a Wagan reaching out to him.

Bryce was not scared although he was intruiged and somehow hipnotized that he began approaching to the spirit. It was calling him as the kid took a step closer to road, he lost control over his mind and let his body just move.

The Wagans calling was getting louder and louder, Bryce was already in the middle of the road. Fortunately, Archie came back in time and caught his grandson in an unsafe zone. "Bryce! Bryce!" he yelled out to him but the kid didn't hear him so Archie chased him before anything bad could happen. "BRYCE!"

"What?" Bryce woke up from the trance and found himself in the road but he stood there frozen in disbelief that Archie had to pull him out there.

"Bryce! you know better than to cross the road alone."

"I'm sorry, Papoli, but... I don't remember how I got here," the boy claimed.

Archie was confused from his answer, "what do you mean you don't remember?"

"I was playing on my phone over there and I saw a person."

"PERSON? what person? who?!"

"I don't know," Bryce glanced around then shrugged his shoulder. "I remember he was wearing white?"

Archie was silenced since he knew right away what he meant, "wearing white?" he stammered.

"I'm sorry, Papoli. Honest, I don't know how I got here," Bryce whimpered then hugged his grandfather.

"It's okay, I believe you, come on, let's just stay inside and order some pizza."

"Okay, Papoli."

Once they went back to the main entrance, Archie felt worried and gazed around the area to see any sign of the entity.

-------

Soulpadres, Gussie and Koru went out again without the eight-year-old because they are going on a field trip. They were riding Gussie's jeep and was amazed by the scenery they were seeing along the way to whatever they were going to. The colorful trees would light up in nighttime. "Wow!" Perdita expressed. "So stellar."

"I know this never gets old," Lexi agreed.

They stopped by a convinient store to buy some snacks and drinks, Gussie was by the liqour stall holding a Tequila, "one bottle only, Boss," Koru jokingly said to him.

"Oh, come on," Gussie insisted. "Consider it a pre-bachelor party."

"Okay, I just don't want to be drunk and if you're gonna drive, it's not like these guys can drive."

"Fine. One bottle."

Later, Perfida was helping Gussie packing the food and drinks they bought in an ecobag by the cashier after paying them while the other boys went out for a toilet break. "So where are you taking us exactly?" she asked him.

"You'll see," he replied.

But then some group of people came in, it was Gussie's old friends or at least ex-friends, Evan, another guy and a couple of girls with them. "Oh no,"Lexi gulped.

"Why? what's wrong? you know them?" Perdita asked.

"They were my friends and Gussie's."

"So what's the problem?"

Those ex-friends saw them. "Well, well, well, look who's here, the infamous Gussie French," one of the girl called their attention.

"Amber... don't," Evan told her.

"Hi, Amber," Gussie sighed. "How are you doing?"

"Great, until I see you here. Who's she?" Amber was referring to Perfida. "You're new girlfriend?"

"She sounds like a bitch," the ghost twin said. "She better leave my sister alone."

"Relax, I know Amber, she's not gonna do anything," Lexi assured Perdita.

"None of your business," Gussie respond to Amber. "Let's go, Perfida."

"You're an ass for breaking Dave's nose."

"What did you say?" he agaped, Perfida was taken aback by that.

"Ambs... enough," Evan called her out again.

"You heard me, you are an ass for breaking," Amber repeated.

"You weren't there," Gussie snapped.

"I don't care and I know you, Gussie, you can be such a butthead but you have no right to do what you did."

"He grabbed me and tried to kiss me with his drunk mouth," Perfida interjected.

"What?" Amber was surprised by that and so were her friends. "That can't be true."

"My Gosh, Amber." Lexi shook her head.

"It's true," Gussie confirmed.

"You're lying, both of you."

"Amb..."

"Gussie," Perfida stopped him. "It's fine, it's not worth it if they don't believe us."

"You're right, let's just go."

"Careful, he might lose you to the Wagans like the last one," Amber told to Perfida in a mocking tone.

"Stoop," Evan pleaded to her.

"Not before they take you first," Perfida snapped back.

"Whatever, I hope I don't see you around, Gussie," Amber snarled at him. "Because of you, I lost my best friend."

"It's not his fault she died, okay? you want to blame someone, blame Lexi, she went there on her own."

"Shut up, how would you know that? you weren't there."

Perfida became speechless that she blurted something that involved her psychic ability. "Fine, it was my fault so don't worry, I am leaving this island very soon so you all won't see the island offender," Gussie unraveled. "Come on, let's just go, Perfida."

"What? You're leaving?" Evan gulped once he heard that but Gussie didn't notice his reaction since he and Perfida exited the store.

"That bitch, who does she think she is for talking to me that way?" Amber grumbled.

"What did she call my sister?" Perdita groaned angrily that it caused telekinetic force that made liquor bottles exploded and the liquids sprayed at Gussie's intimidator. Amber and the girls screamed from getting wet by the imploded drinks.

"What did you do?" Lexi asked her. "And how did you do that?"

"I don't know."

"What's going on?" Gussie quipped as he and Perfida heard the commotion so they turned around and saw what happened. "Oh, crap, what the heck?"

Perfida snickered, "probably karma," then the two laughed. "They deserve it."

Perdita appeared beside her sister with Lexi, "your welcome."

"You did that?" Perfida whispered to her ghost twin.

"I think I did."

"By the way, thanks," Gussie said to Perfida

"Hmm? For what?" Perfida shifted to him.

"For defending me back there. Amber was one of Lexi's bestfriend, that's why she's kinda, you know, and the other guys are... were my friends in school."

"Well, you don't need crap like and crap like them in you life, right?"

Gussie smiled, "yeah."

"Hey, what's happening over there?" Vance asked when he and other boys were done relieving themselves and noticed the chaos inside the store through the glass window.

"Karma."

"Huh?"

"We'll explain on the way," Perfida said. "But right now, we should really go."

----------

Next, they arrived at a cliffside and got out the jeep, the Soulpadres were dazzled at the cliff view of the mountain blue and purple mountain that apparently lit up at night time like a soft colored neon light with some glitter that were twinkling like there were stars. "Oh my crapolai," Perfida reacted. "Look at that."

"I see it," March said who also had this look of amazement.

"I know, right?" Gussie chuckled, he took out a picnic mat and laid it down on the ground and Koru helped him set up while the Soulpadres took pictures and selfies then posted them on social media.

Later they were eating their snacks as they just look at that view, "if I live here, I won't get tired of staring at this," Vance commented.

"I never do, I used to take Lexi here, we would just hang and talk." Gussie began reminiscing and so was Lexi.

"Sure, 'talk'," Perfida joked as she air quoted 'talk' while the other boys snickered.

"Okay, we did... more than that."

"Okiee."

"If you think high school is a whirlwind, wait til you get to college, you'll go through a lot of insane stuff."

"I guess we will."

Gussie took out a disposable cup and took the drink he bought, "oh, can you pour me a quarter of a cup?" Koru asked.

"Sure," Gussie poured another cup for his old buddy then gave it to him.

"Thanks."

"You bought alcohol?" Leyo questioned.

"Don't worry about them, Leyo, he's in a legal age," March told the little Livo.

"It's good," Koru said to the Livo.

"Plus, I only bought one bottle," Gussie said. "Usually, I would buy six."

"Six? do you bionic kidneys?"

"Relax, Leyo, Papoli drinks more than that and would tell he has this friend that he called the kidney killer," Perfida said.

"Macoy Cabot," Gussie replied. "Yeah, I met him, he stayed in the hotel once, I think he had bionic kidneys."

"Or maybe he has no kidneys."

"Leyo, doesn't understand some things sometimes," March explained.

"Why don't you try a little bit?" Gussie poured another cup and filled just an inch of it then handed it to Leyo.

"It's okay, Leyo, nothing can happen with one incy wincy drink," Perfida assured him.

Leyo took the cup and just gulped it down, "Dude, not that fast," Vance told him. "Slow down."

"Blehh..." Leyo seem disgusted by the taste and had this sour look on his face. "Not bad."

"Meh... give it time," March said.

"Why don't we have some fun? drinking game fun?" Gussie suggested. "Consider it as intimate pre-bachelor party for Koru."

"I'm down," Vance replied.

"Me too," Perfida answered.

"Me three," March followed then they all looked at Leyo.

"Okay, I'm in too," Leyo reluctantly agreed to play as well.

"What are we playing?" Perfida asked.

"Hmm... never had I ever," Gussie answered. "Drink when you done whatever 'you never did'."

"Oh! that's good," Vance squealed.

"Let's do this!" March exclaimed. "Who's asking first?"

"Why not our man, Koru?" Gussie said.

"Alright, never had I ever... skipped school." Koru began asking then Gussie began drinking and after that, it was Vance sipping on the same bottle.

"You skipped school before?" March questioned Vance.

"Yeah, there's this local singer that I'm a big fan of and he was having a meet and greet but it was in a school day," Vance explained.

"Where you caught?" Gussie asked.

"My parents let me and... lied for me too."

"Lucky. Okay, I'm next. I must warn you, this will be... kinda juicy however you don't need to say anything after that," Gussie smirked. "Alright, ready? Never had I ever had a crush among any of us here."

"Oh! that is juicy." Perdita was finding this entertaining while she and Lexi were watching at the side.

March subtly glared at Gussie but didn't care since he didn't ask to reveal who they had strong feelings. "Anybody?" Gussie quipped at them. "Going once. Going Twice..."

March decided to just get it over with so he slowly put out his hand however unexpectedly, Perfida quickly took the bottle and took a sip which stunned the boys, "done!" she slammed the bottle down after drinking it.

"PEACHY!!!" Perdita screamed in irritation since she wanted March to drink it.

"Oh, look at that, I'm gonna keep that secret to the six-feet under," Perfida quickly said. "NEXT QUESTION!"
