Chapter 2

The next day, the soulpadres and their family were in Ares City airport to bid their kids farewell for their vacation "Vinny, please, just talk to him, he's gonna miss you," Vance's mother, Esme, pleaded to her son with a pout. "For me."

"Fine," Vance gave in to his mother's request then looked at the baby piglet she was cradling. "I'll be back, Tina, don't be sad, okay?"

"Ahem..."

"Mom," Vance whined.

"Son, just... get it over with," his father, Montgomery, told him.

"Okay, dad," Vance then gave the baby kid a raspberry kiss.

"Thanks, Vinny," Esme was happy that his son did what she asked for.

"I'm gonna miss you too, mom, dad," Vance hugged his parents.

"Sissy boy," March's dad, Commander Mason Mills, snickered to Archie who did not share his humour toward how he thinks of Vance and his family. Like his son, he was tall, taller than March, brown hair with some greys somewhere in it, thick and buff wearing his military coat uniform. "Can't believe my son is rubbing elbows with this kid."

The twins and March listened to how Mason talked crap about his friend, probably he meant to hear it, he may have gotten his heart trumped by Vance but he was still his best friend, Perfida bit her tongue because she was afraid to confront him and Perdita pitied him a bit. "Let him be, Commander, he's still a good kid," Archie said to Mason.

"Right," Mason then turned to his son. "Have fun, Marcus. And stay out of trouble."

"Yes, sir," March replied, Marcus was his real name, March was what his friends called him secretly at most.

Leyo hugged his mother, Laya, a teal furred Livo, and his three young sibling that looked like turquoise pekingese puppies with long arms "Leyo, remember to comb off the sands in your hair before leaving the beach," she reminded.

"Yes, mother," Leyo said.

"Attention, passengers, flight for Thoto will be boarding soon in ten minutes," they heard intercom announcer said.

"Let's go, kids," Archie told them.

The Soulpadres, Archie, Bryce, and their dog, Harrison, walked inside the airport. Eventually, they got in the airplane, AresAir, a supersonic windowless plane, the exterior were lined with tiny cameras and the interiors will have a massive high definition screens of the outside world.

Since it was a five hour flight, the seat were table seating style, Archie, Bryce and Harrison sat together in one aisle across the Soulpadre, Perfida and Leyo sat the first two seats together which meant March was stuck with Vance, Perdita enjoyed watching this little scene between them.

"Uhm... Perfida, can we switch?" March asked her.

Perfida gave him a subtle glare and March signalled her to just switch with him "sure, I don't mind," she stood up and sat next to Vance while March was with Leyo.

Perdita was satified to see that so she decided to go all Curious Joe and explore around the plane "hmm... where to start?" she asked herself as she began roaming around. She saw passengers after passengers just relaxing in their seats then straight ahead, she saw a stewardess heading to a curtain doorway. Perdita went inside and saw a steward making an alcoholic drink, the other was preparing a meal, it entertained her that made her stay there for a while.

During the flight, taking selfie here and there to post on SnapGram at first and after that, the kids just chill for the time being, Perfida was doodling in her sketch journal, Leyo was asleep, Archie was reading his Kindle with a drink in his hand with Harrison resting his head on his lap while Bryce was playing games in his tablet. March couldn't help but watch Vance chatting with his boyfriend and he was simpering so he stood up "I'll just go to the bathroom," he said to them then head there.

Vance watched him walked further then nudged Perfida to get her attention "hey, what's up with March?" he asked her.

Perfida tried to act prudish "what do you mean?" she gulped.

"He's kinda acting weird."

"What?" her voice got high then cleared her throat. "No... I... don't think so, he's okay."

"Are you sure?"

"If there is a problem, he'll definitely tell us."

Vance was convinced and just stopped asking "you're... right," he nodded. "Thanks, Perfida," then went back to minding his business but Perfida was starting to feel bad to lie to his face.

The plane finally reached to the their destination "hello, passengers, this is your pilot speaking, we just arrived in the beautiful island of Thoto, to your right you will see the famous purple mountain called Diopera," the pilot said. "And beside it is the blue mountain, Ceon."

Everyone looked at the panoramic screen where the plane was flying around the two mountains, they were overwhelmed at how breathtaking those purple and blue rocky mountains are with its exotic looking flowers and yellow palm trees that was grown from the island itself.

"Look," Leyo saw some male Phorion that were waving at them and wearing just a weave short flying to those mountains to pick fruits then flew down to give to the humans, seeing a Phorion was nothing new but see it was when they lived simpler life.

"Papoli! look at that one," Bryce pointed, that was when they saw few people also waving at them riding a large griffin that was as colorful as a parrot with a long serpent tail called an Ayon.

The plane landed, everyone got their bags from the baggage claim and walked out the airport "aeyo! walla ete Thoto!" a couple of locals from Zumu tribe welcomed them, that means 'hello, welcome to Thoto'.

"Aeyo!" everyone greeted them back.

"Saankyie," Perfida thanked. "I almost forgot, majority of Thoto speaks fourth dimension."

"Good thing I learned some phrases before moving to Ares city," Vance said.

They got inside a van to get to their hotel "aeyo, wehgo?" the driver asked.

"Frenz Resort," Archie answered.

On the way, they looked through the window that everything in Thoto were grass, trees, and hills whereas Ares city were mostly buildings. Though the huts were modern style, they were cone-shaped pods that were nestled in the jungle and there were handfuls of urbanization such as the hotels, schools, malls and hospitals.

"Guys! a moorqs," Perfida pointed, A Moorqs was an alien horse, a woolly alien horse to be exact, it has long beige straight hair, the same size as an actual horse but its speed was a lot faster and humans would ride them like they were their mode of transportation. "Wow, it's majestic."

"Papoli I want to ride a moorqs," Bryce said to his grandfather.

"Sure, we can make that happen," Archie answered to him.

"This place is just amazing," March said, they would see more locals and cosmic citizens riding those moorqs and the ayons, and farming some bizarre yet edible plants from the four different planets. There were some earth animals, wild and domestic, and plants that humans needs to eat to nourish themselves but they learned to like eat other kinds of food that the cosmic citizens eat.

They arrived to hotel they were going to stay and by the entrance, there stood a man in his sixties with faded blond hair and dark eyes with a grey loose linen and pants with a pair birkenstock sandal with his wife, ash brown hair with a flower tucked in behind her ear, brown eyes wearing a white floral dress with strappy sandal.

The Sweeney family and the boys got out of the car "Archibald 'the Sweetmeat' Sweeney," the man happily opened his arms to Archie. "Is that you? you look old."

"Ram, joker as always" Archie hugged him. "Hello, Torrey," then gave her a quick peck on the cheek.

"So who do we have here with you?" Torrey glanced over to the teenagers with him, the only one she and her husband knew was Harrison.

"These two are my grandkids, Perfida and Bryce. These are her friends, Vance, March and Leyo. Kids, this is Ramford and Torrey French, they are the owners and an old friend of mine."

"Nice to meet you," Vance said to them.

"Likewise, son. Welcome to Frenz Resort," Ram said to them.

"Come, the rooms are ready, you all must be tired from your long flight," Torrey added then called the bellhops to carry their bags.

They all entered the premises buildings were made of modular units stacked on top of each other, each unit has glass window on one side that has a view of a beach. There were a lot of guests from all over the world staying in the Resort even cosmic citizen, Perfida could see those who were not from Ares city were fascinated by the extraterrestial beings with them.

"Here are your rooms," Ram said and handed the keycard to Archie since he and his family will be bunking together and the boys will be sharing one room.

Archie opened the door with the keycard, the room was small but very charming, it has one king size round water bed with a computerized bed frame, a curved sofa at one side facing the floating flat screen television, one bathroom and the glass window that filled the one side of the wall. "Classy," Archie commented and impressed at the style of the hotel room even his grandkids felt the same way.

"Glad you like it, Archie," Torrey replied. "What about you, Perfida? What do you think?"

"I like it," Perfida answered.

All of a sudden, Vance knocked on the door yet it was still open, the couple and the Sweeney turned to him "excuse but I think there's some kind of mistake with our room," he told them.

"How come?" Ram asked with a weird look in his face.

"Oh my crapolai," Perfida choked because apparently, the boys got the honeymoon suite, it was the same size as the Sweeneys only it was decorated in romantic themes, the heart-shaped bed, silk sheets and the towels were formed into swans with the mister and misses embroidered in it.

"Oh! wow," Perdita snickered that they got that room even Perfida wanted to laugh yet she was containing it.

"I swore I booked for a room for three beds for them," Archie claimed who was surprised to see such mistake by the hotel.

Ram was aghasted while the guys weren't sure to put whether their stuff there or not, "GUSSIE!!!!" he yelled on top of his lungs. "Where the hell is he?!"

"I... I haven't seen him today," his wife stuttered.

"That little..." Ram then stormed off.

"Honey..." Torrey tried to stop his husband but he already left.

"Gussie? Isn't he your son?" Archie quipped to her.

"Yes, he's the one incharge to arrange the rooms for the guests," she explained then turned to March, Leyo and Vance with an apologetic expression. "I am so sorry, this never happened to us before, don't worry we'll fix this."

"No problem," Leyo said.

"Why don't you all go get some lunch while we settle this mishaps."

"Okay," Vance replied.

They all went to the restaurant, the soulpadres sat around the dining table while Ram was fixing the problem by cussing every word out there as he tried reaching Gussie, his wife had to cover Bryce's ears, "don't worry, he knows where not to say it," Archie said to her, Torrey was shocked to hear that.

"I'd enjoy the room, if it's my honeymoon," Vance joked to lighten the mood, everyone laughed except for March who just put out a crooked smile.

"Anyway, don't mind him, kids. Oh! here's the food now" Torrey told them in a very nervous tone. Their waiter placed the food in front of them, one food was like a limb from a sea creature while the other one was a squishy egg but more circular, Perdita for ones was glad that she did not have to eat such odd-looking food because she did not find it edible. "This is Thoto specialty, it is plant-based fried Pae tentacles and eyeballs from the guri-guri fish."

"Yum" Archie gulped after seeing the tentacle wiggled a bit from his plate yet the younger ones were more interested in trying it yet he hesitantly put it in his mouth and to his surprise, he enjoyed it.

Perfida ate the tentacle and find it good "not bad, tastes like squid can I have rice with this?"

"Me too," Vance followed.

"Sure," Torrey answered then told the waiter about it.
