Chapter 6
Lucy's POV

Once inside the maze, we took our time to look around the area, attempting to memorize the place. But the labyrinth has a different structure inside than it has outside. All areas and corners has floating landforms which differs in shape and appearance.

"What the hell is this place?" Natsu asked as he narrowed his onxy eyes in nowhere in particular. His brows were knitted as if he's confused or rather annoyed.

"Inside the sky Labyrinth, idiot." Gray grunted as he smirked at the pink haired boy who was fuming in somewhat frustration.

"Thanks for the newsflash, captain underpants." Natsu countered which made the latter look down on himself.

"Darn! When did i stripped?" The raven head asked no one in general as his eyes roamed the area for his missing clothes.

'I have a feeling we will take hours in searching for the exit. Wait..... what if?'

I glanced at my comrades who were currently debating on where to start looking, on what direction to go. With a shakily sigh, i sarted to process the chant on my head. Only on my head as i needed to lay low. My, our, secret isn't ready to be revealed anyways..

'Oh, heavenly bodies. Give us guide and protection. Help us seek the exit of this place. Guardian Star, here thy call! Shine and guide us towards victory!' I chanted in my head, careful not to expose my true nature and magic. As i gazed up at the vast dark sky, a certain star outshined the rest. It was sparkling like diamonds as it somehow pointed the way. East..

  Well, makes perfect sense actually..

"Guys! I think we should head East." I voiced out my thought as they shifted their attentions to me.

  "How so?"

"Well, the arena is located at the east." I pointed out which made the others nod in agreement.

"That's the only clue we have for now. So Lucy, lead the way." I nodded before heading to the direction where the star is pointing at.

After minutes of running, we reached a door which leads to somehow a with spiral designs. By just the look of it makes me dizzy already. Atleast, i'm not the only one with that thought..

"Do we really have to go through that?" A slightly green faced Natsu asked as he covered his mouth in attempt to stop himself from vomiting. Gray gave him a small smack on the head which made the motion sick mage glare at him.

"Don't get sick already! We're still not even inside!" The raven haired ice maker yelled out of frustration which made Natsu growl at him.

Ignoring the quarrelling mages, we sprinted inside the room. The spiraling design and structure on the wall was indeed as head racking as i imagined it to be. The illusion it made on my head made me feel dizzy. Thankfully, the torture ended as another door was seen on the other side of the room. We opened it and immediately entered, trying to escape the nausea we were feeling towards the room. Once exiting, we found ourselves on the same scenario and surroundings as we were the first time we entered the labyrinth.

As we were debating on what direction was supposedly East, the landform we were currently standing on suddenly started to shake. Scratch that. EVERYTHING was starting to shake. Comparable to an earthquake, in the sky! We struggled to find something to hold on to as the labyrinth started to somehow spin.

Unfortunately, i lost my grip on the landform as i started to fall from the sky. A shriek of surprise and panic escaped my lips as i was tempted to cast a spell that will surely blow off my cover and destroy centuries worth of secrecy and sacrifices. As my lips was about to form words to attempt a spell, a warm arm caught me by the waist, pulling me upwards into safe ground. My brain took seconds to be able to process that Natsu was pinning me on the ground by my waist, struggling to keep both of us from falling.

  "N-Natsu?"

"You look quite surprised that i caught you. Why?" His question caught me off guard as i looked at him in pure comfusion.

"What?" By that time, the spinning and shaking stopped as Natsu helped me to my feet.

"Don't answer my question with another question, Weirdo. I mean to ask is why are you so surprised that i caught you? Did you honestly think that i wouldn't make it on time?" He said before flicking my forehead.

"Ow! It's not that, idiot! I was just a little bit surprised! It's not eveeryday i'm in a life-death situation then someone saves you the last minute!" I huffed in annoyance as i glared at him. He wasn't dazed like he usually does though.

"Tch. Even so. You should know by now that whenever you fall, i will always be there to catch you." He said, emphasizing the word 'always'. His words actually surprised me and the same time, touched me. He really knows what to say at times which really surprises me since he's always been labelled to be the idiot.

"Hey! You guys alright?!" Gray's voice suddenly echoed through out the labyrinth which caught both of us by surprise. Glancing up, we saw all of them looking down on us.

"Yeah! We'll be there in a minute!" I yelled back.

★☆★

Minutes of running later, we finally reached the exit which was guarded by the pumpkin headed man.

"Congratulations, kabo! You made it!" The orange head greeted us enthusiastically as we collapsed on the floor due to exhaustion.

"D-Did we made i-it through the p-preliminaries?" Gray asked, completely out of breath.

  "Yes, kabo!"

"Really?! Did we made it first?!" Natsu's asked, excitement filled his words as he starred at him in somewhat hope.

"Sorry to say, kabo. You barely made it. Your actually the last team to have made it through." he broke the news to us which made us look at him as if he has grown two heads.
