Chapter 18

Lucy's POV

After hearing what Sabertooth had done to Yukino, i was absolutely furious. Who do they think they are to kick out their own member just because she lost a match?! That's not even a humane thing to do! After calming my fellow Celestial Mage down, i asked her to stay with us. She was reluctant, as expected. But with the help of everyone, (they practically begged her to stay) she finally agreed. She stayed with Lisanna, Levy, Laki and Kinana. I wanted to talk to her about our next move but i knew it can wait. Her health and well being comes first, after all.

The next day, everyone was enthusiastic after our achievement yesterday. We managed to gain our first points which felt amazing after being dubbed the last in the competition. Today, we're aiming for first place. We'll win all the matches.

I felt a surge of confidence when Erza volunteered for the event. It was revealed to be called Pandemonium. After settling the order of who'll go first, they'll make them choose on how many monsters they want to battle. The more they defeat, the higher their points will be. Hope filled my system when Erza claimed she was first. It mixed with nervousness when she declaired she'll fight all 100 of them. I didn't have doubts. I knew she'll defeat them all. But that doesn't mean she won't get hurt. The audience didn't exactly express the same level of believe as me. It doesn't seem to affect her as she stood infront of the horrifying place.

I stared in awe as Erza defeated all monsters that dared block her path. They would either be cut in half or sent flying. Smirking, i gazed at the crowd who was openly amazed at the fearsome woman who was battling monsters double and triple her own size. She wasn't dubbed as 'Titania' for nothing. Though, she kinda slowed down once hitting half of the 100. Sweats started to form on her forehead, her breathing seemed to come off unnatural. She was almost panting. Was she tired?

80 monsters were defeated, Erza was already breathing hard. She was obviously tired. Wounded and losing magic as well. She can't seem to find at least a second to breath and relax. At 85, she fell to her knees twice already. It was no secret that she's having a hard time. Especially now that the 15 left were the most powerful ones. Once at 90, she was slammed into a wall about 3 times. She was exhausted, physically and magically. But the fire in her eyes had yet to die down. She just earned a whole new respect from her. She's so strong willed and brave hearted; two character traits that are hard to find. Especially in one person. She's amazing..

It came down to the last one. The Class A Monster. It's yet to have appeared, at least that's what i think. No one was cheering as the crowd was on the edge of their seats. They badly want to know what type of monster makes up the strongest. Erza was on her knees, her sword lightly planted on the ground as she used it for extra support. She was on high alert, looking around the place for the last one. Some literally had their jaws dropped when the anticipated monster turned out to be small. The Requip Mage wasn't surprised, however. She was suspecting it. Wow, she has a keen eye and observation.

To everyone's surprise, the small creature turned out to be huge and strong. The two battled and fought. Erza seemed to be having a disadvantage as she was facing the monster, who was using it's full strength, with less magic power as she consumed more than half of it while battling the other 99. I can't tear away my eyes from her. She looks so strong and beautiful. Heck, even badass!

I cheered with the rest when the monster was finally defeated. A sense of pride and honor washed over me as i watched Erza raise her right amr with the sword. I'm so proud to be her friend..

Since the 100 monsters was defeated, the Games Administrator was forced to use another method to identity the second to the eighth place. It was determined by the Magic Power Finder or MPF which measures the level of power by hitting the lacrima with a powerful spell. Everyone took their turn. I was becoming nervous when they all scored a high score (except Hibiki and that masked guy from Raven Tail). Cana was the last. The score to beat was Jura's. There was something in Cana's smirk that made me curious as to what she was planning. She's up to something. I know it. The fact that she shows no sign of nervousness, especially with the exceptionally high score she needs to beat, was fishy. She's somehow confident. A little too confident.

When she casted Fairy Glitter and scored 9999 left all of us beyond shock. Wow.. I should have known.

That's how we earned the first two spots on today's event.

"Hey, guys? Yukino and I are going to the cafe right across the stadium. Anyone wants to come?" I asked the group who was currently watching the games. It was 1 pm when we felt our stomachs grumbled. That's why we decided to have late lunch. The third match just finished, earning another win for our guild. It was Fairy Tail B versus Raven Tail. Laxus Dreyar versus Alexei. The first halve of the match, Laxus was clearly getting beaten up. It was a surprise since he's one of the strongest mage in the guild. Blow after blow, kicks after kicks, punch after punch. He just keeps taking it. As all hopes seems to be almost lost, a somewhat swirl of magic was broken. Looking closely, it was an illusion! Beneath the fooling image was Laxus and the beaten up members of Raven Tail. All of them! Cheaters! Unfortunately, they underestimated the master of Fairy Tail's grandson. Tch. Serves them right!

The games was having an hour break before resuming to the last match.

"No thanks, Lucy-nee. I'm having lunch with the rest of the guild at the cafeteria." Wendy replied. Erza agreed to her as she fantasized over Strawberry Cake.

"Sorry, Luce. I'm starving! I don't think i could walk another step without collapsing! I'll just eat at the cafeteria." The pyro whined.

"Same. We'll catch you later?" The Ice mage said. I nodded and bid them all goodbye.

Me and my fellow Celestial Mage sighed in content as we gulped down the last content of our plates. It was heavenly. Who knew Chocolate brownies could be this delicious? Wow..

"We should head back. There's only 20 minutes left before the next match." Yukino said, glancing at her wrist watch. With a nod, we both stood up and made our way out of the cafe. Not without making a mental agreement of coming back later for another round of milk shake and brownies.

"The next match would be between Fairy Tail A and Lamia Scale. Who do you think would be fighting?" I asked, starting up a conversation. She seemed to be thinking about a good pair as she clicked her tongue.

"I would say Jura-san and Erza-san since they're both exceptionally great Mages but the latter already participated earlier today. Maybe Gray-san and Lyon-san since they're both skilled Ice Make Mages and are good friends." She inquired. I felt myself nodding and agreeing. She has a point. I would also want to witness a fight against Jura and Erza. It would be phenomenal. I know that the Lamia Scale member is a Wizard Saint but i'm positive that Titania would be able to stand her ground against him. Also, a Gray versus Lyon would be an epic match up as well. They're long time rivals. Both had excelled and matured. I'm sure it would be an amazing battle.

"Oh, that would be cool! I can't wait! " i didn't bother to hide my excitement as i doubt i'll be able to contain the squeal i was suppressing.

"I know, right-" my senses suddenly perked up at that moment. I felt a fast approaching surge of magic coming towards them at high speed. Through reflex, i tackled Yukino to the ground in time to dodge three arrows that would have burried into her skull if i was even a second late. The sudden attack caused an uproar. We were still outside the stadium, about a a mile from the entrance. People were running around, causing even more chaos and riot. That wasn't my concern, however. It was the group of Mages that was apparently wearing dark cloaks. They were distributed around the open field. Some were on top of trees, buildings, and shops. They were surrounding us!

What now?!

With Mom:

~I was reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Titan's Curse~

Mom: Naiintindihan mo ba yang binabasa mo? (Do you even understand what you're reading?)

Me: *blank look*

So, the struggle is real.. My parents don't really keep track of all my quizzes, exams, tests and homeworks. They don't mind if i fail a test as long as i have passing grades for the end of the quarter or semester. It's nice, really. The downside? They don't know which subject you excel in and having troubles. *sighs*

So, i'm halfway finished with my PJO series. I'm currently in Book 4 (Battle of the Labyrinth). My feedback so far? IT'S SO FREAKIN' GOOD!! OH, GODS! I'M IN LOVE WITH PERCY JACKSON!!
