Chapter 1

Lucy's POV

I can't help but let out a gasp as Master's announcement sank in on me.

"Fairy Tail will join this year's annual Daimato Enbu in order to regain our reputation and title as Fiore's strongest guild! The team that will take part on this prestigious event are non other than Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, Wendy Marvell and Lucy Heartfilia. The reserve member will be Elfman Strauss. I trust that you will give it your all. Are my decisions clear?"

My mind went blank for a second as his speech kept on repeating on my head over and over again. I can't help but question myself. Did I really heard him right? M-Me?

"Are y-you sure you'll let m-me join, Master? I-I understand that y-you picked Wendy, b-but me?" I looked at my trembling hands and came to the conclusion that i was indeed nervous. On why though, i have no apparent idea.

"Eh?! But Lucy-san, y-your far more p-powerful and experienced t-than me! I s-should be the one asking t-that question!" Wendy squeaked in surprise as she waved her hands infront of her in panic. Unbeknownst to me, a small smile crept on my face as I mentally admired Wendy's modesty. She's undeniably kind, sweet and especially, strong. She should learn to appreciate her true potential and worth. [A/N: Your the one to talk, Lucy!]

"Listen Lucy, Wendy. A Fairy Tail Mage should never doubt their power and shall not look down on themself. You both are equally as strong as any of your guildmates are. You should learn to value your worth. Because no one will believe that your strong if you yourself doubt it." Master's words of wisdom echoed through my head like a cassette tape. I already knew about all of this but this is not what really bothers me in joining the games.

I know in myself that i'm not weak. I'm a Celestial Wizard after all. And all wielders of this said magic is far from being weak. We are special. On what way, i cannot tell. Infact, it is a secret that had been passed on to all Celestial Wizards in the world. A secret that cannot be spoken to anyone.

"Everything's decided then! These six members will represent the guild and will bring pride and honor to us! Now that's taken care of, Brats! Let's party!" And with that, the guild partied all through the night.

The warm rays of the sun tickled my skin as a groan escaped my lips. Last night guild party lasted till 2 in the morning which was entirely the reason why i'm having a brain spliting headache right now. And to top it all up, my eyes refuses to comply to my command as it remained closed despite how much i tried to open it.

Finally giving up to this rather futile task, i scoffed over to the other side of the bed which surprisingly was warm. A soft sigh of relief escaped my lips as i snuggled more into my newly found source of heat.

"Weirdo"

My eyes snapped open as i heard a voice. HIS voice!

"Kyaahhhhhh! N-natsu! What t-he hell are you d-oing on my b-bed?!" I screamed as I gave the dragon slayer my infamous 'Lucy Kick'. He fell off the bed with a tud as a groan of pain escaped his lips.

"D*mn! Luce, that actually hurts!" I mastered a glare at his direction as i swinged my legs to the side of my bed. I stretched my arms in the air as a soft yawn escaped my mouth.

"Quit whining like a baby, Natsu! You deserve it for invading on my house. AGAIN!"

"I'm not being a baby!"

I ignored his remark as i made my way to my closet, picked my chose of clothes before entering my bathroom. But midway, i spared the pouting Natsu a glance. I fully stopped walking and extended my arm to hold unto the doorframe for support.

"I'll be out in a few minutes then i'll make breakfast for us. Where's Happy by the way?" He seemed to transfer to my bed before crossing his hands infronf of him and looking at me.

"Happy went to check on Charles and Wendy. But he said he will be here for breakfast."

"Wait. What do you think of my house? A restaurant?" He shrugged in response before collapsing on my bed. I guess he still wants to sleep. Tch. Typical Natsu.

After making a mental note of smacking Natsu on the head for sleeping on my bed once again, i fully entered the bathroom and started to do my morning routine. Brushing my teeth. Washing my face. Taking a quick shower. Dressing up. I was currently in a slightly oversized blue t-shirt with the word 'Cute' displayed on the front in color pink letterings, denim shorts, and turquoise colored flats. My hair was fixed on a high ponytail while my keys and whip were attached on my black belt.

Once satisfied, i exited the bathroom and searched my room for a pink haired trespasser. My eyes didn't failed me as i saw him with a familiar blue fur ball who was both lying on my bed, asleep. I can only shake my head at the sight as a smile crept on my lips. I have to admit though, they do look cute. Natsu was hugging a curled Happy while using his other arm as a pillow, snoring lightly. I softly chuckled as i decided to leave the two be while i cook for our breakfast.

I ran down the stairs, into the kitchen while thinking of the perfect breakfast for my two bestfriends.

'Hmmm, bacon and eggs should do.'

Finally deciding on what to cook, i hurried down to work while humming a song my Mom taught me when i was young.

It's not actually a song. More like an incantation. I can't exactly remember the whole lyrics but i can recall the chorus, which is the most needed and important part. It was passed on to Mom by my grandmother, who also happens to be a Celestial Wizard. So, it is safe to say that it is passed on to Celestial Wizards of all generation.

I was half way through my cooking when i remembered that i needed to add salt on the eggs. I hurriedly scanned the counter for the said condiment but it wasn't there nor on the table. So, it seems that my last option was the top shelf, just above the sink. Did i mention that it was a little high for me? Guess not.

I tip toed to be able to reach the knob of the shelf door and struggled to open it. I did it nonetheless. But my problems was to actually reach the salt which was located further inside the shelf. Tch! Curse my height! Curse the high shelves!

As i was struggling and cursing under my breath, a rather warm and tanned hand seemed to appear out of nowhere and reached the salt without ease. A squeak escaped my mouth as i turned around in surprise but lost my footing in the process. Fortunately, another hand grabbed my forearm, prevented me from falling and breaking any bone on my body.

I opened my eyes and met onxy ones that was staring at me in worry. Just then, i realized that it was Natsu who appeared behind me, reached the salt and prevented my fall.

"Your such a klutz, Luce." He said while helping me stand on both of my feet while chuckling.

"Hey! It's not my fault that the shelf's too high!" I rolled my eyes at him which he responded with a laugh.

"Your just short!" He even ruffled my hair, earning a groan from me. Aish! Cocky b*stard! Yes, he's almost a head taller than me but that didn't give him any right to make fun of my height!

"Shut up!"

Hello!!

I made it!! It's still February so i managed to catch on the deadline. Anyways, sorry for the delay! I'm busy as hell this past few weeks, and the upcoming weeks.. i still have two plays, a baby thesis, documentary, cheerdance and final exams to worry about.. So, please.. Bear with me!!
