In the End of the World...
Everything had fallen into total chaos. Large belches of smoke erupted, causing coughing sounds everywhere.
It rained ashes... And a wicked snicker made its way unto my face, curving into such a large grin that I never even thought it would be possible.
The remnants of a large ship hustled itself unto land, like a gigantic fish out of water.
And speaking of fishes, there were already plenty of dead ones—right on the edge of our ankles. A baby whale tried to inch itself back to sea, but to no avail. Screams of panicking people filled my eardrums, but I had more pressing matters to attend to, so I ignored them. Others got stuck in a massive quicksand, twisting and turning like they were part of a creepy tropical dance.
"Man, this is horrible." Fain scrunched his nose as he battled his way towards me, the ridiculous scent of dead fish and other marine animals wafting around, fogging his glasses. He took them off for a second, then ran a hand nervously through his jet-black hair. I sneezed once, twice.
That annoying stench was enough to make me gag and retch my latest meal, I thought placidly.
"The tsunami has ended. Now it's going to be ash flow, right?" Revere questioned, his light brown hair slicked with sweat—or maybe it was from the saltwater, I couldn't tell. He fanned the air with his right hand and squealed dramatically, and I rolled my eyes in reply.
"Who cares about what's coming next," Krona scoffed, her red-tinted hair sashaying behind her freely, as she waltzed over to us, both hands on her hips. Grime and sand clung to the sides of her bare legs, pants soaked in a dull, brick-brown colour.
"Whatever's coming next will still be related to fire," I declared, and our smallest member, Zachary, shuddered in fear, as he shook his head violently, trying so hard to deny our fate.
"Great. C-can we call that tsunami again?" He stuttered, ocean blue eyes flaring nervously, clearly preferring the waters than the burning heat that the apocalypse will serve to us very soon.
I could hear the faint sound of rustling, so I turned around... Just to see a certain someone writhing on the sand, alongside the dead aquatic animals.
"Y-you cursed child of... The d-devil," the man stammered, pointing an accusing bony finger towards me, but I could only smirk in reply.
I swept a few strands of my dark brown hair aside to prevent it from obscuring my vision. I had to get a good look at his suffering.
"See?" I remarked bitterly, my own words stinging even myself. It felt like eating an entire desert, and no matter how hard I swallow this burning sensation, it's just not possible. Comfort would've helped, but it'll never be enough to solve the problem at hand.
The message that the stars gave me became true. And it was all humanity's fault. Blessings? This is all some ridiculous curse—that had somehow fallen upon my pathetic shoulders.
An impossibly large grin appeared on my face once more, allowing this meek, feeble human to regret every single thing that he did to me—that they did to me.
Not only him. Everyone else... will regret this.
This is my decision. This is the choice I made. I'm just so sick and tired of being the good guy. So why not do the bad things myself? Just for a change.
I spat unto the ground.
"I already told you... but you wouldn't listen."
Good and evil are only separated by a thin line called 'choice'.
Death is only the beginning.
