Stella went into the library and said hello to Miss Flannigan, the friendly librarian. She went into the corner and got a book about unicorns. It was Stella's favourite book and she read it all the time. The book was called Unicorns: A Tale of Enchantment. There was one page in particular that had a picture of a unicorn with sparkling silver skin and a shimmering golden mane blowing in the wind. Its tail was a glimmering blue and its eyes were like diamonds that could hypnotise you.

Stella was staring at the unicorn, transfixed; almost as if she was in a trance. The eyes mesmerized her, and she was bewitched by the unicorn's magic. Suddenly, Stella's eyes turned from green to pink and a bright rosy pink light filled the air and Stella was lifted up into the air, and grew a unicorn horn.

Moments later, she was lifted down, dazed and confused.

"Weird." Stella said, putting the book back and walking to Maths class.

The next day, Stella told her friends about what happened in the library.

"Something weird happened," Stella began.

"What do you mean?" Lana asked.

"Well, I was in the library-"

"Let me guess, you were reading that stupid unicorn book?" Zoë teased.

"Yes, I was. But a crazy thing happened on my favourite page. I was staring at the unicorn, then it moved. After that my eyes turned pink – pink! - then I was put into a trance."

"Do you know what this means?" Lana asked.

"No." Stella and Zoë said simultaneously.

"Stella, you have unicorn powers."
