Rina looked at her watch, then back at the elevator. Jungkook was more than two hours late. Where was he, who called him, that he left her in the parking lot and without saying anything, disappeared? She had tried to contact him, but his phone was off and she was beginning to worry. What if something happened to him?
The elevator rang, and she looked at him anxiously again. Disappointment and even more anxiety when one of his men came in instead of Jungkook. He headed straight for her.
"Miss, Mr. Kim is sending me, please come with me." he bowed respectfully, and she raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Mr. Kim?" Rina asked, and he nodded. "Mr. Kim Seokjin" he added, and she confusedly picked up her bag and belongings and followed.
"What's up, are they okay?" Rina asked him as they were left alone in the elevator. He just looked at her and shook his head. She bit her lip, beginning to transfer different scenarios to her mind, what could have happened if Seokjin called her. They were attacked, Jungkook was badly wounded, someone was threatening them?
Her imaginations collided as she sat in the back seat on the way to the mansion. Seokjin was waiting for her at the door, and she panicked even more when she saw him. He was pale, emaciated and his eyes were red.
"God, I hope Jungkook is fine!" she prayed in her mind and jumped out of the car, almost running towards him. Jin opened his arms and she hugged him tightly. "Jin, what's up? Are you okay?" she began to ask, but he just hugged her tightly and Rina heard him sob. Her heart sank in horror, and she pulled away slightly. Jin took a deep breath and wiped away his tears. "Jungkook needs you, Rina, he won't show it, but he's in a lot of pain right now." he took her hand and led her inside. "What's going on, has something happened?" Rina asked quietly, passing several guards, all with their heads bowed.
He stopped and turned to her, looking at her sadly. Just from his gaze, her eyes watered. "His father died, Rina. Jungkook locked himself in his office. They've become especially close lately." he took another breath. "Mr. Jeon was very ill, I think he tried in his last days to make up for lost time with his son." she hugged him again.
"Jungkook won't let anyone in, not even me. I hope at least he opens to you." she nodded and followed him quietly.
Jin showed her a large, leather door and nodded encouragingly. She stepped forward and knocked on the frame. "Jungkook?" her voice trembled, and she swallowed back her tears. She waited a moment and tapped again, looking back at Jin, who was watching her nervously. "Jungkook? Open up, baby?" this time she called out louder, but again without an answer. Nothing could be heard from the office and her tears slowly began to flow.
Rina remembered the pain, she knew how he felt right now. She hits hard.
"Jeon Jungkook, if you don't open the fucking door, you'll never see me again!" she threatened, shouting, and backed away when she heard the key Glancing at Jin for the last time, she pressed the lock and entered the office to find Jungkook in the middle of the room, his back to her and his head bowed.
"I'm sorry, baby, I'm so sorry," she hugged him tightly around her waist, feeling his body tense and relax as he tried to hide his sobs. She stood like that for a while, then let go and walked in front of him. He stared blankly at the floor, but his eyes and face were red, his fists clenched, his jaws playing. "Baby ..." he looked at her briefly, but then looked away again, as if embarrassed or unwilling to see this side of him. Rina embraced his face, and when he looked at her, she rose to her feet and pressed her lips to his, kissing him hard and soothingly. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. After a while, she backed away, and this time she wouldn't let him escape her gaze, showing him her own tears and grief. "He loved you, Jungkook, he always regretted that he never managed to show you how proud he was of the man you had become." Rina whispered and he nodded silently.
Rina didn't know what to do. He looked frozen, as if he were not in the room with her. She released him and looked around the office as she walked to the desk. She ran her fingers through several photos and with her peripheral vision, she noticed that he was watching what she was doing.
"We had a business lunch once." she began, looking sideways at him. "The client was extremely stubborn and your father found it difficult to control himself, barely able to bear all his grumbling and pretensions." She smiled and picked up a picture, staring at it. In the picture was Jungkook, and his father, in a somewhat unnatural position, seemed to be trying to escape from each "For three hours, he tried patiently not to kill him." she sighed, dropped the picture, and looked at the ceiling. "Your father waited for him to leave and sighed. He looked at me and said, 'If it was Jungkook, he would have made a deal by now, he has a unique approach to such people.' He always knows what to say to convince them and get what he wants. "Then he shook his head and I think for a moment, he really wanted you by his side." She looked at him and wiped away her tears. He looked at her confused, a tear rolling down his cheek and she spread her arms. Jungkook hesitated for a moment, then stepped over her, hugged her tightly, and they fell to their knees, pressed together. "Crying doesn't make you less of a man, Jungkook." she pressed her lips to his temple and after a while heard his first sobs.
"It's all right, baby, the tears of losing a loved one aren't embarrassing, and you don't have to hide them." he nodded at her neck, squeezing her tightly as she tried to calm him, stroking her hair behind his back.
"Look at me, baby?" he raised his head, and she smiled softly. She knew that despite his grief at the moment, he had a thousand other things to think about. About what's next, what he's going to do with the Jeon family. Rina knew that now things would change for him as well as for her.
"Jungkook, you can lean on me, can't you?" he blinked, and she cupped his face, wiping away his tears. "I will take care of the company while you are gone, and you will become what you need to be and want to be. Whatever you decide, I will support you." she assured him, and he smiled slightly, pulling her into another strong embrace.
