One month latter
Rina leaned back and sighed wearily. She looked sideways at the office door and rolled her eyes. It had been a month since the night he had surrendered. She woke up in the morning alone, with a note on the other pillow. "I'll see you at work, Miss Assistant."Rina didn't see or hear from Jungkook until she returned to work. And of course, not that she was expecting anything, but he acted as if that night didn't exist, as if he hadn't pursued and seduced her for weeks.
Meanwhile, Rina had ruined her engagement to Boram, and he was now free to see Min-Cha. She moved into a small rented apartment and took her life in her hands.
She wished it was as easy as getting out of her grandmother's house. Unfortunately, even though she didn't show it, her heart was pounding with pain every day. Every time she looked at him, every time he looked at her, it was like a poisonous blade digging deep and spinning, making the wound in her heart keep bleeding.
Recently, Rina had been close to Kim Seokjin, although she had known him for two years, had never spoken to him for more than a minute, and after spending a few days at the mansion, he had become a close friend and often a confessor. Rina noticed Jungkook's displeased gaze as Jin came to the office and they talked and laughed, but she wouldn't take the pleasure of showing that he had hurt her.
She looked at her watch and quickly jumped to her feet. "Damn, I'll be late!" she murmured, grabbing her bag as she headed for the elevator.
As she waited, she reached into her hair and pulled out the three hairpins that held her in a tight bun. Her hair parted freely, and she shook her head, making the soft curls flutter in the ebony glow of the artificial light.
"Are you in a hurry, Miss Assistant?" she turned and looked over his shoulder. "My personal life is none of your business, sir" she replied sharply, and Jungkook shrugged indifferently.
Jungkook was really trying to carry out his threat and stay away from her, trying to get back to his old self. But every day as she grew colder to him, frustrated and offended by the way he had dumped her in his apartment, it became harder and harder for him to show indifference. He had to grit his teeth when he saw her. She laughed at Seokjin or the others, but she looked at him like an annoying puppy at her feet.
"I heard your car is being repaired, Miss Assistant, can I offer you a ride?" he asked. She turned and looked at him angrily. "Thank you, but I have a ride" she replied coldly, and turned back to the elevator, whose door opened and she entered, pressing the ground floor button. Jungkook followed, but pushed for the underground garage.
He stood behind her, and she pulled out her phone and began talking to someone, giggling at herself. Jungkook wanted to hit the wall and shout at her, but what would he say, how would he explain his behavior? He was the one who wanted that.
He peered over her shoulder and his anger grew. She methodically sends messages to who Emin is, arranging a meeting at some club.
Seokjin's name came up in the general chat, informing her that he would be a little late, but would show up later for the after party. What game was Jin playing?
"I don't care at all, kid, it's not my fault you're in a bad mood." Jin shook his head and tossed his jacket on the bed. "So Miss Assistant really has a date?" Jungkook gritted his teeth, and Seokjin looked at him with raised eyebrows. "What does it matter?" he asked, increasing Jungkook's anger. "Hyung ..." Jungkook growled, and Seokjin looked at him expectantly.
Ever since he'd spent the night with Rina, Jungkook had denied being attracted to Rina and was trying hard to get back to his old habits. But even drunk almost unconscious, all he could think about was Rina. Seokjin wasn't blind, he could see the looks he was giving her, and yet he stood at a distance from her, claiming that he didn't care what happened to her. Seokjin also liked her, whoever, kind, caring, patient, smart and funny, she was the perfect woman for his stubborn friend. And as a caring older brother, Seokjin had set out to open this fool's eyes, and in the meantime, he and Rina had built a great friendship.
"Didn't you expect her to hide and cry over you?" Seokjin asked, and Jungkook blushed with anger, clenching his fists. "She's not a woman sitting around waiting for a playboy to realize he wants a relationship." Seokjin shrugged and headed for the bathroom. "I'm coming with you!" cut off Jungkook and Jin looked at him, standing at the bathroom door. "It's not going to happen, kid, you're going to stay away from her!" he replied sharply. "You can't ..." Jin interrupted. "I can and will do it, Jungkook. Don't forget that you decided she would be just another queue of women you've slept with!" rubbed Seokjin, and Jungkook narrowed his eyes. "What if I don't want to be like that anymore?" Jin laughed. "Then you're very late, kid, because she's no longer interested in you." he replied and went into the bathroom. "Damn it!" Jungkook roared and jumped out of Jin's room.
No one would touch her, she had promised him, and yet she would date this Emin or whatever his name was. However, Jungkook would not allow it, neither now nor ever! The little Miss Assistant was his only, he was the first and would be the last to ever own her body, even if he had to fight the devil for her!
He went to his own room, and on the way he met Namjoon and Taehyung. "We're at a club tonight!" he cut off and passed them, and they stared after him, blinking in fright.
In his bathroom, Seokjin let the water run and smiled broadly. "You have no idea how easy you are when it comes to your Miss Assistant, kid!" he thought, pleased with Jungkook's jealousy, which only worked in his plan's favor. He knew that Jungkook wouldn't listen to him and would show up at the club. Emin would make sure the kid started to lose control and start acting if he really wanted his little assistant to be just for him. He just hoped Rina wouldn't see his plan either, he didn't want to lose her as a friend at all.
In any case, the most important thing was for both of them to realize that they were born for each other. He frowned thoughtfully. Probably at some point he would have to ask for help other than Min-Cha, Boram, and Emin. But for now, until Jungkook reached his limit, it was enough.
He sighed and shook his head. The stubborn young man was a thorn in the ass, and he was so lucky that everyone loved him, otherwise Seokjin would have pulled the bullet at his head by now.
