Chapter 8) Flight

Danny lead me down alley ways and T. Foley couldn't help to think that Danny was going murder him in one of these alley ways.

"Soo? Where are you taking me again?" Tucker asked impatiently.

Danny frowned and stopped. "I thought I told you. We are going to Miss Manson's  house. "

"Well, first of all you did not tell me. Second, are you going to thank her for healing you? Or confess your undying love for her?" T. Foley joked. Well kinda of, T. Foley did mean that Danny did not tell him about going to Sam's place.

"What? No! I mean Sam is nice and all..., but no. I found out some stuff about my... I guess I can call them powers?" Danny yammered on.

"Why can't you tell me now?" T. Foley impatiently questioned.

"It will be easier if I only explain it only once."

T. Foley nodded and then said, "I guess that makes sense."

"Can we get moving? Or we won't get to the pastry shop before noon." Danny insisted.

"I thought you said that we were going to Miss Manson's house." T. Foley remembered.

"We are. Just that I thought I would tell you two at the pastry shop. Can we walk and talk?" Danny responded.

Tucker nodded and began walking, knowing that Danny would keep pace with him. "I love the meat they serve at pastry shop."

"Tuck, you know that's left overs from the butcher shop next door, right? I love meat and all, but that meat is disgusting. Plus that's a pastry shop, you are suppose to get pastries." Danny argued.

"I know, but it's still so good." Tucker whined.

Danny stopped again and T. Foley was getting annoyed. Once there was food involved, nothing would stop him from getting to that food and it does not help that he's really hungry.

"Do you trust me?" Danny whispered.

It was a strange question to Tucker. Of course he did. Danny was and still is his best friend. Danny had no idea how much it hurt when Danny had to drop out from school. Samantha was a good friend and all, but she couldn't take the pain out when she missed Danny too.

"Of course I do." T. Foley promised.

Danny nodded slowly, almost carefully. He closed his eyes. Then two rings appeared around his feet and head. Both going towards the middle of his body. As they moved, they changed his old friend into the stranger T. Foley meet last night.

              T. Foley jumped back. "I thought it was a one...." He started, but Danny interrupted.

"A one time thing? Me too. I have a quicker way to get to Sam's house. Ready to fly?" Before Tucker could respond, Danny started to float and picked Tucker up.

As much as T. Foley would disagree, he did scream. He did love the feeling of the wind in his hair, but in his opinion, humans should not fly. It was unnatural.

It took less then two minutes when it would usually take them ten minutes.

"Wow. We're here already?" T. Foley gasped.

Danny didn't nod instead he started floating to random windows. He obviously did not know where Samantha's room was.

"Try the window next the vines." T. Foley recommend.

Danny did as Tucker recommend. T. Foley was correct and Danny had started a conversation which was barely audible to T. Foley. T. Foley heard the words pastry shop and explanation.

Danny floated back down. "She will be down in five to ten minutes to get on her disguise?"

"Yeah, when she goes out in public, and when she's not supposed to, she dresses as a boy. She becomes Samuel Maison."  T. Foley explained.

Danny did respond, but T. Foley wasn't worried. Some things you didn't have to respond to, just accept.

It was a good ten minutes until they saw Sam climb down the vines. "Ready?" She asked.

"I thought you were going to put on your disguise." Danny stated.

"I decided against it." Samantha answered

"Are you ready for this?" T. Foley responded proudly. "Danny that's your queue."

Danny cracked his back then said, "I guess I have enough energy. "

He floated up and in one swoop picked up Tucker and Sam. Good that I haven't ate yet, T. Foley thought.

They sat at an isolated table. Then again there was almost no one in the cafe because the lunch rush hasn't started yet. Samantha Manson remembered sitting at this cafe when the factory exploded.

Tucker was ranting how the cafe take away the meat on their menu. He was ranting for minutes and Sam was getting sick of it.

"Be quiet! It is a good thing they got rid of that horrible meat! It was obliviously bad for the last few days! Not to mention people do not need meat!" Sam shouted. Her voice echoed through the nearly quiet cafe.

"I'm glad you think that, most people don't. " A voice said behind Miss Manson. A grown man, no older than fifty faced them. He had a pot belly and almost no hair accept for uncleanly shaved beard.

"Mr. Lancer? Aren't you a teacher?" Tucker questioned. "And where's Lunch Lady?"

"Well, yes. I'm just taking over for the summer. After my great Aunt Margot died in that factory accident...."

Danny interrupted him. "She was there?"

"Well, not in the factory. She was at the port getting supplies for the cafe and the ectoplasm went everywhere. She was the unlucky few that got hit." Mr. Lancer replied sadly.

"When are we getting our meat back?" Tucker asked, obviously annoyed.

"Tucker." Sam groaned.

"Probably never." Mr. Lancer responded happily. "I'm going to convince my nephew, who is taking over, to keep my idea. Well, I better be off. Thank you again, Miss Manson for you idea."

"Yeah, thanks Sam." Tucker grumbled.

The trio were quiet for a couple of minutes to make sure that people were out of earshot.

"Danny, when were you going to tell us about the important information?" Samantha impatiently asked.

"Oh yeah. Well there are these people that got effected by the ectoplasm like me, but not as lucky. They..... Died. And now are ghosts. Not like souls and afterlife, well I'm honestly not sure. Not the point of this conversation. Well, they're ghost all the time. " Danny explained.

"So you are the only one able to go back to normal?" Miss Manson questioned.

" I never thought of it that way, but yeah."

"WHO CHANGED THE MENUE ?" A voice bellowed from the kitchen. Then the whole place went haywire.
