Natsu sat against the wall of a building in the quad starring off into space. He hadn't really spoken to anyone since that night. What could he say? He wasn't completely innocent in all of this. Granted he couldn't see her, but he should have known that wasn't his Lucy. Not that he could even call her that anymore. She wasn't his.. Hell she wouldn't even look at him, much less talk to him.

That pissed him off more then anything. Didn't she love him enough to even hear what he had to say?! Was everything they had been through for nothing?! He growled as he leaned his head back and starred up at the sky.

He didn't bother going to any classes. Hell the only reason he was even at the damn school was because he was hoping to get a chance to see her. Maybe even talk to her, but when he saw her, and he saw the pain in her eyes, he knew better then to try and approach her. He didn't know what to do anymore. He had cried to himself for days after she left. He wanted to cry now, but he wasn't going to do that. Not here at least.

"Well if it isn't the flaming fuck boy." A familiar voice said. He looked over as Gray sat down next to him leaning against the building. "You gonna sit out here and sulk forever?" He asked.

"Man, I don't know what to do anymore." Natsu said picking up a twig from the ground and breaking it in his hands.

"Well you know... not fucking the school slut while you're in a relationship might have been a good start." Gray sneered. "You hurt that girl, Natsu. She didn't deserve that."

"It wasn't even like that! I know I fucked up but I swear it wasn't my fault! " Natsu yelled.

"Then what was it like?" Gray asked sarcastically looking at him. "Please, do tell me."

"I was drunk," Natsu said looking at the ground.

"Yeah I remember.." Gray replied rolling his eyes.

"Let me finish!" Natsu said. "I was drunk. It was dark in the room and I was laying there thinking about how I wanted Lucy. Lisanna came in, but I thought it was Lucy. I honestly never even questioned it until the lights came on. It wasn't like I was actually trying to sleep with that girl. "

"What kind of excuse is that?" Gray sneered.

"It's NOT an excuse Gray! It's dumb as hell but that's how it happened.. " Natsu yelled slamming his fist into the ground. Gray's eyes got big. For as long as he could remember, Natsu had never actually called Gray by his real name. When they were children everyone used to say the two were like fire and ice the way the fought. So the two had always called each other nicknames in reference to that.

Gray looked Natsu in the eyes. "You're really serious aren't you?" He asked.

"As a heartbeat." Natsu sighed as he laid his head back against the wall again. "Gray, I would never cheat on Luce. She means the world to me. I lost myself when she left us back then, but when she came back I found her, and I found myself. Hell, I've not even had sex with her because I wanted everything to be perfect for her."

"Really?" Gray asked leaning back. "You really do love her don't you?"

"More then you could ever imagine," Natsu said reaching into his bag and pulling something out before handing it to Gray. Gray looked down at the little box that was in his hand. He opened it up to reveal a white gold ring with a pink heart shaped diamond in the center. "I planned on giving this to her this summer. I wanted to take her to the beach again and propose at sunset. I want a life with her, I wanted the world to know she's mine. That I would do everything and anything in this world just for her. I want to have children with her. A real family. You know something like me, her, two kids, and a dog type of thing. I want to be her support, her castle." Gray just starred at the ring, and then looked back up at his friend. "I wanted to give her the world, and now... Now I can't even get her to look me in the eye..." Natsu said quietly. Gray could here the heartbreak in his friends voice. He looked over at him, but he didn't say a word as he watched the tear that fell down Natsu's cheek.

Gray let out a sigh and then said something that came out completely unexpected. "Natsu, I have always been a little bit jealous of what you and Lucy have." Natsu looked over at his friend confused waiting for him to finish. "I used to love Lucy years ago, but it didn't matter, she only ever loved you. I was always trying to take care of her and protect her because I knew that even if I couldn't love her the way I wanted, I could always be there for her. That's still true today Natsu." Gray looked down at the ground. " It hurt me to see the pain in her eyes that night. Hell it still hurts me. She's not the happy Lucy that we all love. She's like a shell. It's sad. And I want you to know I will do anything to protect that girl.. Even though I have moved on with my life and met someone I truly care about; I will still always be there to take care of Lucy.... But with that being said.. I believe you....I believe that you weren't trying to sleep with Lisanna.. And I believe that you love Lucy, and that you want to give her the world."

Natsu starred at Gray not really knowing what to say. Was there anything he could say? He had always suspected that Gray loved Lucy, but he had never asked him about it. He figured he really didn't want an answer to that question.

The two sat there in silence, no words needed to be spoken between the two. Natsu knew that he had failed Lucy, and Gray knew that he had to help Natsu.

After a while Gray finally looked back over to Natsu. "Alright so you love her, and you royally fucked up.... So what are you gonna do to get her back?" He said with a sly grin.
