Chapter Thirty Eight ~ The Waiting Game

Lucy looked at her phone. Nastu had been gone for about five hours now. She knew he said he had an appointment today, but he normally at leasts text her back.

She thought it was kind of sad that the best thing she could think to do on a beautiful day like this was sit in the house and text her boyfriend.  She wanted to know he was ok, she wanted to be secretly nosy, and she also wanted to know where the hell he hid her damn towels! When she had gotten up this morning to shower she searched everywhere but no luck. So she had to dry off with a handful of wash cloths. I'm gonna kill him! She thought at the time.

She plopped down on the couch for about the millionth time and let out a sigh. "It's so booorrriinnnggg." She exaggerated. She lay there stretched out with her arms dangling over the edge of the couch when she felt Plue lick at her hands. "What is it boy?" She asked reaching out and petting her white haired dog. "Do you want to go outside?" She asked. Plue yipped at her and ran towards the door. "Okay, okay, hold on." She said as she stood and walked towards the door. She grabbed her jacket and Plue's leash. Once she had everything situated the pair walked out the door and headed towards the park.

It was such a beautiful day. She enjoyed strolling with Plue down by the water letting him stop to sniff around at various things he found interesting. She had her ear buds in listening to the music so she didn't hear her phone when it rang. She decided to head towards town and do a little window shopping since she was out. Plus she could stop at the market and get a few more groceries because Natsu could eat everything that wasn't nailed to the floor, and he would probably eat the floor too, if she would let him.  She chuckled at the thought.

When she got down to the market she was walking around looking in the shop windows when she came up on a little jewelry store. As she was gazing in the window she saw a beautiful silver chain with the pendant of a dragon hanging from it. "That would be a perfect little gift for Natsu," she spoke to herself. She walked in the store and a few minutes walked out with the necklace in a box wrapped in red paper.

"Well Plue, do you think he will like it?" She asked bending down to pet the little white dog. After doing a little more shopping she headed to the market to pick up groceries for the house. As she was walking around looking for what she needed. It took her some time but she finally managed to get everything she needed. She checked out and headed out the door walking back towards the direction of home with two arms full of stuff and Plue leading the way. As she was walking along she heard a voice from behind her.

"Hey cutie, remember me?" The voice said. She turned around to look and see who it was.

"Sting!" She shouted backing up hesitantly, almost dropping her shopping bags. The tall skinny blonde smiled at her menacingly as he walked towards her.

"Aaah, so the cute little blonde does remember me?" He asked as he continued to walk towards her, "So baby, when are you going to let me take you out on a real date?"

"Sting, leave me alone. I have a boyfriend." Lucy said nervously. "Remember the guy that kicked your ass last time you messed with me?"

Sting stopped and looked at her for a minute before laughing. "Are you talking about that Pink haired loser?" He asked with a grin. "Some boyfriend he is, letting his girl walk around at sunset by herself with all these bags. He's probably out cheating on you right now anyway. That's just how guys like him are."

"He's a great boyfriend! What would you know about him anyway?" She yelled. At first he was just annoying, but now he was just starting to piss her off. "He had something to do today that's why he's not here." She immediately regretted saying those words.

"Oh I see," Sting smirked as he reached out and grabbed one of her arms, "Well why don't you let me help you carry these bags then?" He attempted to take some of the bags from her but she jerked her arm away.

"No thank you I am fine." She pivoted on her foot and started to walk away, but Sting cut her off again.

"Please," he asked with big puppy dog eyes. Plue started growling at the man standing in front of him. Lucy knew it was because he could tell that she didn't like this person.

"Sting, if you don't get away from me, I swear on everything I love, I will turn you into a woman right here and now." She spoke very confidently even though she was shaking inside.

Sting threw his hands up in defeat, "My bad babe. I'll leave you alone, but I'm not giving up yet." He grinned at her as he blew her an air kiss and walked away.

"God that guy is such a fucking asshole," she mumbled to herself as she continued her trek home. When she got home she set all the bags down, and let Plue off his leash.

She picked up her phone and looked at the time. 8:15. "Wow it's really getting late." That's when she noticed the missed call. She  opened her voicemail and pressed play on the message.

"Hey Princess, call me as soon as you get this. It's very important. Oh and Luce, I love you."
