Death is Near

"Death?" I asked, now starting to shake, "You mean... You mean like I killed someone... right?"
The Undertaker sadly shook his head. "I'm afraid not. Death is near. How soon it will be, I can't tell. But I do know that it is coming for you soon."
I fought back the urge to just drop down and cry. I nodded. "O-Okay... Th-Thank you, undertaker...." I slowly turned towards the door and placed my hand on the handle.
"Deary..." The man said from behind me. I turned back around to face him. "You may want to stay here. Perhaps you could send a letter to the ones that you love, explaining what has happened." He suggested.
I nodded a little. "I'll keep that in mind, thank you. But I would like to be with my friends..." And with that, I turned out the door, and started my long, depressing trek back to the mansion.

When I got back, it was already 8:00 in the morning. I skipped even trying to go to sleep, even though I was as tired as one could possibly be. I headed into the kitchen -after changing my clothes- to find Rose almost ruining breakfast. She turned around when she heard footsteps. "(F/n)! Thank goodness you're here! I need your help!"
I hurried over to the stove, turning the heat down and opening the oven, which released a cloud of thick black smoke. We both were thrown into a coughing fit as I put on some gloves and pulled the pan out of the oven which was now spotted with charred black spots. I brushed a stray strand of (h/c) hair back in it's place, and began working on making a new breakfast.
I made another batch of biscuits and fried a few eggs instead of boiling them, and set everything onto a plate which I placed on a silver cart. When I was all finished, I wiped a bit of black smudge off of my face. "So where is Sebastian, Rose?" I asked her.
She shrugged, "I'm not really sure... he just asked me to watch the food."
"How long ago did he leave?"
She looked down at the floor, sheepishly. "About three minutes before you got here..."
My eyebrows flew to the sky. "Everything went crazy like that and he had only been gone for three minutes?!"
She nodded. "Yes... I-I'm sorry..."
I was about to say that it was okay, but my head throbbed. I placed a hand on my head and closed my eyes, suppressing a groan. Rose took a step forward. "(F/n)? Are you okay?"
After a few seconds of splitting pain, I was able to nod as Sebastian walked into the kitchen. "Yes... I'm fine."
Sebastian looked around at the messy kitchen. "What happened?" He asked, dumbfounded since he'd only been gone a few minutes.
"I-It was an accident!" Rose stammered.
I waved my hand. "Everything's been taken care of. The master's breakfast is ready, everything is fine."
Sebastian eyed me for a moment before turning to Rose. "Could you excuse us for a moment? You may go clean yourself up."
Rose nodded and quickly exited the room, leaving the two of us alone. I looked up into Sebastian's eyes. Those sweet, sweet wine red eyes that I may never have the chance to see again. "Is there something you needed?"
He hesitated. "Where did you go last night?" He asked.
I blinked. "Wh-What do you mean?"
"Please don't do that... I saw you sneak out of the manor last night." He said softly, not wanting to scare me.
I sighed a little. "I...I went out... for a walk..."
He stared right into my eyes, as if he was testing that I told the truth. After a minute, he pulled me into a hug. "I thought for sure you wouldn't come back when I noticed that you weren't back in the morning."
I wrapped my arms around him, burying my face into his tail coat. "Sorry," I muttered, "Lost track of time..."
He pulled away, planting a kiss on my forehead. "I'm just glad that your back."
I looked at the floor "Yeah... me too...." The room was silent for a moment. 'I should tell him.... maybe we could spend more time together if he knew...' I looked up at him. "Sebastian.... I-"
Just then, Ciel entered the room. "You'relate, Sebastian. I've been waiting in the dining room for six minutes." He growled.
Sebastian bowed. "I am sorry, my lord. I shall bring your breakfast immediately."
Ciel stalked out of the room and Sebastian sighed. "I'm sorry. You can tell me later, okay?"
I nodded. "O-Okay...."
He gave me one last kiss on my forehead, before wheeling the silver cart out of the room.
'If I'm not dead by the time I see you again...' I thought, tears stinging the back of my eyes.
