Chappy 62

Two weeks later, a typical school morning found (Y/n) loudly singing along to a song that was blaring from her earphones. In one hand, she held a tube of lip gloss. She uncapped the tube of lip gloss and applied it on, careful not to smudge it with her movements. When she was done, she briefly pursed her lips to make the gloss even. She placed the tube on the counter and flipped her loose hair back, loving how she had perfectly managed to curl them.

Only one word could explain what she was feeling at the moment.

Awesome.

For what reason, she didn't know. All she knows is that she had woken up feeling happier than any other day and now, she was just reveling in it.

(Y/n) placed her hands on her hips and smiled at her reflection. Her eyes fell on her tie and she frowned when she noticed it was not done completely well. She adjusted it and tugged it up, neatly smoothing down her collar before giving her reflection a satisfied nod.

A sudden tap on her arm made her jolt up in surprise, simultaneously yanking out her earphones to turn and look at the annoyed woman.

"Do you know how many times I've called you?" she asked, making the girl dart her eyes from left to right before going back to her aunt.

"A few times?"

Nanami shook her head in disapproval and looked at the bathroom counter where various kinds of makeup were sprawled on.

"And since when did you start wearing makeup?" the woman asked, curiously picking up the lip-gloss before narrowing her eyes at the girl. "Is this mine?"

"No," (Y/n) took the lip-gloss back and placed it back on her counter. "I bought it."

Nanami squinted at her. "Right."

"Anyway," (Y/n) began, picking up two different tubes of lip gloss and held them up on each side of her lips. "Which one looks good? The one on the right, the middle or the left?"

Nanami's eyes flickered back and forth the three almost similar shades of red and sighed wearily. "The middle."

"Really?" (Y/n) exclaimed in disbelief, placing the two cosmetics down while turning to look at the mirror. "Huh...I'm so good at this."

"Mmh. So which boy are you getting all prettied up for, huh?"

The girl gave the woman a funny look. "I'm not doing this for a guy. Is it so bad to do something at least differently?"

Nanami shot her a blank look and crossed her arms over her chest. Her eyes roamed all over the girl's face before pointing at it.

"You have a hair sticking out."

"Fuck!! Where?!!" the girl exclaimed frantically, hurriedly inspecting her eyeliner to locate the mishap. Upon finding none, she realized that Nanami had duped her.

She turned to her and set her lips in a sour line while slowly clapping. "Wow. So funny. Genius. Comedy Queen. You must be proud of yourself right now."

"So it is a boy..." Nanami trailed off, earning a loud drawn-out sigh from (Y/n).

"It's not a boy!!" (Y/n) exclaimed defensively.

"Oh?" the woman's eyes flitted to the white, thigh-high boots the girl had won. Her eyebrows rose. "You even wore your costume's shoes."

(Y/n) gave herself a once-over and looked back at Nanami before sending her a scoff.

"First of all," she held up a finger. "I'm wearing these shoes because they're part of my costume and I can use my Quirk without having them burn off so jot that down."

The woman placed a hand on her hip and smirked. "Oh really?"

She nodded. "Mhhhm. Yeah. Really really."

"Okay then, can I ask you something?"

"Shoot."

The woman squinted her eyes suspiciously at (Y/n), a sly smirk playing on her lips. "Do you...oh I don't know, have a crush on Katsuki?"

Eh?!!

"What? Don't be ridiculous," (Y/n) rolled her eyes and quickly turned back to the mirror upon feeling heat rise up her cheeks.

"I'm just asking a simple yes or no question, dear. Do you like him?"

Why is she asking me this?!!

(Y/n)'s heart hammered in her chest and she shook her head, eyes now glued on Nanami's reflection.

"No. No, I don't," she quickly answered, her face heating up even more.

"See there's your answer," Nanami smiled, proudly patting (Y/n)'s hair. "There was no need to call me ridiculous, now was there?"

"No."

"Good! Besides, I just came here to tell you that Katsuki's waiting for you downstairs."

(Y/n)'s face lit up at her words. "He is?" she then quickly cleared her throat and repeated the question in a much more disinterested voice. "He is? Oh cool. Tell him I'll be there shortly."

Nanami chuckled at her daughter's failed attempt to mask her excitement but nodded nevertheless and left the girl to her devices.

(Y/n) stared at her reflection in silence, her morning happy mood slightly sapped.

She's right...I'm acting different....ugh what was I thinking? And what's this talk about me having a crush on Katsuki? That's completely weird.

She took a wet wipe from a packet lying on the counter and began to wipe off her lip gloss.

Liking Katsuki is unheard off. I mean really, who'd like that selfish, stupid, unbearable, egocentric prick who's so cute, secretly nice and such an adorable tsundere and-

(Y/n) froze at her thoughts, the wet wipe hovering above her thinned lips.

Cute?!! Nice?!! Adorable?!! No, he's not!! Arrgh!! Nanami's words must be getting to me! Yeah, that why!...

The girl finished wiping all the gloss off. When she was done, she washed her face and dried it off before applying simple lip balm on her lips. She then stared at her now plain reflection, pouting a bit in disappointment.

I looked so much cuter with the red on...Ugh, snap out of it!! It's not like you have time to redo it!!...

The girl sighed and shrugged, accepting how things ended up to be and proceeded to clean up the mess on the counter.

When she was done, she took her phone and went back to her room to grab her bag. She paused the music and rolled the earphones around her phone before stuffing it in her bag. She also picked up her costume suitcase and exited her room.

(Y/n) laid her cheek on her palm, her lips pulled in a pout as she doodled in her book. Her earphones were in place, drowning out the background noise of chattering students. Mr. Aizawa was unusually late for homeroom and the girl took that opportunity to sulk by herself.

She felt a tinge of disappointment tugging at her heart. Earlier on, she had asked Katsuki about how she looked, mostly focusing on if he noticed something different about her.

Katsuki, being Katsuki, stared at her in complete boredom and simply said 'You look like an idiot. Let's go before we get late again because of you'.

Honestly, she couldn't blame him. She was the one fishing compliments from someone who doesn't give them. Her mistake.

But that didn't stop her from seeking his approval.

Most of the guys had complimented her, either on her curled up hair to her new shoes, but Katsuki? He didn't bat an eyelid even when (Y/n) flipped her hair numerous times in his face and only threatened to chop it all off if she didn't stop flipping it all the time.

(Y/n) sighed sadly and continued doodling, at the same time singing along to the song that had been playing. Her mind had already drowned in her fantasies, a small smile playing on her lips as she mindlessly drew.

(Y/n)'s smile widened, giggling at the adorable little fantasy she was thinking about. She finished her doodle and she was about to draw another when she stopped. Her widened eyes stared at the latest doodle, the word 'Katsuki' clearly drawn with little hearts around it staring back at her.

The girl gasped and straightened up, her hands immediately covering up the doodle.

She looked around to see if anyone had seen her and sighed in relief when no one was paying attention to her, especially the owner of the name she had oh-so suggestively drawn.

The girl lifted her hands a bit and peeked at the drawing, as if trying to make sure that she really had written his name. When the name came into view, she cursed and slammed her book close, heart thundering in her chest.

She paused the music, pulled out her earphones and placed her phone on the desk before rubbing her temples.

What the fuck is happening to me?

'Do you...oh I don't know, have a crush on Katsuki?'

(Y/n) smacked her palms against her red cheeks, lips parted in shock at Nanami's words ringing in her mind.

I don't have a crush on him! Oh aunt, why did you have to put these things in my brain? No, I have to forget about it.

The female shook her head, determined to dispel the thoughts from her brain. When she was certain she was fine, she drew in a deep breath and relaxed back into her seat.

The class door suddenly slid open, revealing Aizawa who entered the class followed by four other foreign students. (Y/n) knitted her eyebrows at the visitors, noticing their different uniform.

Visitors? That's new...

The teacher stood behind the podium while the guests lined up beside him.

"It's a little sudden, but for our next Hero exercise," Aizawa began briefing the students. "Four Hero-class students from Isami High School will be joining us as special guests."

The whole class erupted into an excited cheer upon his announcement, and (Y/n) was sure she could hear Mineta audibly drool at one of the students.

"Hey pretty lady," Kaminari appeared beside one of the new students, holding his phone in hand. "Can I get your number?"

Jirou sneakily inserted one of her jacks into his ear, shocking him.

"Dammit, stop showing off your stupidity," Jirou deadpanned, her expression reflecting how completely bored she was.

Kirishima and Sero laughed loudly at him with (Y/n) trying to stifle her uncontrollable laughter.

Aizawa growled in agitation, immediately silencing everyone. He then turned to the visitors and told them to introduce themselves.

The first to go was a cute silver-haired bespectacled girl who Kaminari tried to hit on.

"We'll be running the exercise with you today. Isami High School, Hero Class. I'm Kashiko Sekigai."

Aww pretty.... (Y/n) thought as she sent a smile at her.

The next was a pudgy, auburn-haired male who tried to wipe off his nervous sweat. "Same class. I'm Dadan Tadan. Pleasure to meet you."

Poor thing...he's so nervous he's almost making a puddle...

Next was a blue-haired boy with a hostile look on his face. His shoulders were slightly hunched and he was pocketing.

"I'm Fujimi."

The so-called Fujimi then glanced at Katsuki who immediately perked up. (Y/n) looked back and forth between the two boys and silently snickered.

"Huh? We're supposed to have one more," Aizawa said and the students turned to look to a figure of a girl hiding behind Kashiko.

The girl looked up and (Y/n)'s eyes widened. Oh dear, she looks like well, a snake

The girl noticed their brief exchange with Tsuyu, like they've known each other long before. Her assumptions were answered when Tsuyu and the new girl hugged.

"Mongoose!" Fujimi snarled at the reptile-looking girl. "Don't get all friendly with these U.A guys!"

"What did you just say?!!" Katsuki barked before shooting up from his seat to shake his fist at Fujimi. "You Isamishit fuck!!"

Izuku, with a worried look on his face, leaned forward in his seat. "Stop it Kacchan!"

"Shut up, shitnerd!!" The enraged ash-blond glared at Izuku over his shoulder, making him flinch in his seat.

"Why don't you shut up first," Aizawa snapped lowly earning an angry growl from Katsuki.

(Y/n) rolled her eyes at Katsuki's usual immature irrationality.

This is the guy you think I have a crush on aunt? Haha, tell me another funny joke.

The bell chimed, indicating the end of homeroom and the start of class.

"It's time to go," Aizawa informed the students. "Change into your costumes and make your way to Ground Omega. (L/n), I hope you now have your costume so you can stop skipping these physical tests."

Said girl nodded in affirmation and the teacher turned to Iida.

"Iida, guide the Isami students."

"Understood!"

(Y/n) stood up from her chair and on instinct turned to her left to look at Katsuki only to find him gone.

She arched an eyebrow and scoped the class to look for him and indeed she did. Only that he was having a glare contest with the blue-haired visitor. The girl sighed wearily and shook her head in disapproval.

This guy...

(Y/n) quickly walked to where they were and squeezed herself in between them, her back facing Katsuki while her front faced Fujimi.

The visitor stopped glaring at Katsuki to look at the intruder.

"Who the-"

"Hi, I'm (Y/n)," she quickly interjected as she began pushing Katsuki backward. "Nice to meet you. I'm gonna take this person right now, okay? Okay."

The boy didn't have time to say something else before the girl turned around, hooked her arm under Katsuki's and pulled him away from Fujimi.

While (Y/n) was pulling Katsuki out of class, the boy clicked his tongue and firmly put his feet down, making the girl get yanked back when he stopped. Katsuki pulled his arm away from her and scowled at her.

"What the fuck (Y/n)?!! I was about to beat that fucking guy up for looking down on us and you go ahead and stop me?!! You're supposed to be backing me up!!!"

The girl sighed and turned to face him. "This is not the time or place for that. You have to get along with these guys."

"But that Isamishit is getting on my fucking nerves!!" Katsuki complained, finger pointing back to the class.

"Then deal with it," she said firmly. "I hope you behave during this exercise. If something happens during this class because of your temper, you're gonna answer to me, okay?"

Strangled sounds came from his throat as he tried to restrain himself from complaining even further. He then shoved his hands into his pockets and pulled his lips into a stubborn pout.

"Fine!!" he spat. "But just because you asked!"

"I didn't ask. I ordered," (Y/n) retorted smugly, crossing her arms over her chest to play off how flattered she was when he said he'd only listen because she asked.

"Whatever," he grumbled as he passed her to head to the changing rooms.

Let's see if he'll listen. Hope he does. (Y/n) shook her head and turned around to follow him.

***

(Y/n) wiggled into her blood red bodysuit, instantly loving how it fit like a glove. It was exactly how she imagined it. It didn't show skin, but it was body tight and the material was completely fire-proof or lava-proof in her case. Another thing she loved was the color, the red and black swirls at the side perfectly captured how her Quirk engulfed her whole body.

When the costume had arrived the day before, she was beyond herself with excitement. They had sent in manuals on how to take care of it but she had just skimmed through the guidelines, not caring much about being thorough. Either way, she was glad it finally came through. She was getting bored of having to wear her sport's uniform and be all cautious about using her Quirk.

"Wow (Y/n)!" Uraraka exclaimed and the girl turned to her. Uraraka stared at her costume in awe. "I love your new costume! It's so cool! Though," she rose an eyebrow. "What happened to your previous one...why did you change it?"

All the others girls' attention turned to the (h/c)-haired girl and she nervously scratched her neck as she quickly thought of a believable excuse.

"I uh....tried to machine-wash it and it shrunk...Really shrunk...like Mineta size shrunk...haha," she chuckled humorlessly, hoping that they'd fall for it.

"Oh, that's unfortunate. Sorry about that," Tohru piped up.

"Yeah, but I thought you said your costume was hand-wash only?" Yaoyorozu questioned and the girl rose an eyebrow.

She seriously remembers that?

"Must've slipped my mind," (Y/n) shrugged coolly before quickly changing the subject away from her. "So, Tsuyu, how do you and uh..."

"Habuko," Tsuyu informed her.

"Oh yeah, so how do you guys know each other?" the girl continued.

"We met in middle school," the dark-green haired girl answered while she took Habuko's hands in hers.

"Ah! I knew it!" Uraraka exclaimed as she put on her hand bracelets. "You two went to the same Middle School!"

"Yes, we were very good friends," Tsuyu responded in a cheery voice.

(Y/n), who was adjusting her sleeves, glanced at Habuko and shuddered.

She gives me the creeps though...

"So you're the class president?" Yaoyorozu asked the silver-haired girl who was putting on her boots.

"Yes," Kashiko then looked away sheepishly. "But, it's a stressful job. Because of a troublesome student."

"Well," Yaoyorozu smiled wanly. "We've got the exact same problem, too."

"Is he the ash-blond who yelled at Fujimi?"

"Yeah him. His name's Katsuki," (Y/n) answered Kashiko, earning a nod from her.

"And (Y/n) hangs around him a lot," Mina pointed out.

"She's the only one he always listens to, actually," Yaoyorozu added, making (Y/n) blush.

"I really wouldn't say always," the girl tittered, turning away to hide her reddened cheeks.

"But most of the time, right?"

(Y/n) looked at the dark-haired female and shrugged unsurely. "I...guess?"

"That's because he likes her."

"Tsuyu!!" (Y/n) shrieked, her cheeks turning even a darker shade.

"Oh? Really?" Kashiko smiled at the new information, already interested with U.A drama. "Must be very interesting. I can only imagine Fujimi-oh dear!"

"But (Y/n) totally handles him well," Toru said.

"You should've seen how messy it was at first. With the public confession and her formerly having a boyfriend...." Uraraka giggled.

"Public confession to a girl with a boyfriend? How bold..."

"Guys!" (Y/n) cried before burying her completely red face in her palms. "I'm right here!"

Fuck! Why am I blushing this much?!

"But it's true-

"THEN COME AT ME!!!"

(Y/n) looked up from her hands with a puzzled expression on.

Is that Katsuki?

"That must be the infamous Katsuki?" Kashiko asked nervously.

Momo leaned down to her level to whisper. "He only lets (Y/n) call him Katsuki, his first name. Just call him Bakugou to be safe."

The silver-haired girl quickly nodded in understanding and looked at (Y/n) who was staring at the wall dividing the boys' and girls' changing rooms.

"She must be special to him then..."

***

The students gathered in front of Ground Omega, with (Y/n) walking up to stand beside Katsuki, who didn't even pay her a single look.

She glanced up at him and smirked before suddenly slapping the back of his head.

"What the fuck was that for?!!" Katsuki screamed at her while furiously rubbing the sore part of his head.

"That's for picking a fight with Fujimi in the changing room." She said. And not noticing my new costume.

"You fucking little-"

"Alright," Aizawa's voice cut him off, making him curse under his breath and (Y/n) to giggle. "Today's Hero Exercise will be observed by me and one more person."

"I HAVE," All Might's voice sounded from above, the owner of the voice landing with a blast on the ground. "Like a special guest-ARRIVED!!"

So extra. (Y/n) chuckled, never getting tired of watching the pro-hero acting obnoxious.

"A-All Might!" Fujimi exclaimed in excitement.

"In the flesh!"

"Such power!"

"I'm so jealous of U.A!"

(Y/n) smiled fondly at the Isami students fawning over him. It was an expected reaction. She, too, almost got a stroke when she learned that All Might was going to be their teacher.

"So!" All Might began, "About our little exercise. We're going to have you all go through some Survival Training!"

"Survival...Training?" (Y/n) questioned herself loudly.

"Must be something to do with teams," a deep voice answered beside her, making her gasp inwardly at the familiarity.

She turned to look at him and smiled nervously. "Sh-Shouto! When did you get here?!"

The boy glanced at her in nonchalance and shrugged, "I've been standing here the whole time."

"You have?"

"Yeah."

The girl looked back at All Might and frowned.

How didn't I notice?

Because you were staring at Katsuki.

The girl's cheeks erupted into a fine red.

No, I wasn't!

"(Y/n), are you-"

"Shut up!" Katsuki hissed at him, completely raging on the inside that Shouto was talking to (Y/n).

Since when had they started talking? And why didn't he know about this?

The ash-blond tried to contain his anger, the memory of what happened last time he went on a jealousy rampage flashing clearly in his mind. He had to keep reminding himself that she had all the freedom to speak to anyone, even her ex but that didn't change the fact that he hated it.

"There is but one objective!" All Might continued. "To survive..."

Fuck! I haven't been listening! Guess, I'll just have to wing it. (Y/n) thought as she tried to start paying attention.

"To run or to fight, anything goes! Victory will go to the last surviving team!"

"If you run into another team," Aizawa held up a roll of tape. "And manage to bind your opponents with this Capture Tape, you can make them combat ineffective. This should be a familiar item."

"Now let's announce the teams!" All Might proclaimed loudly.

The teams flashed on the screen and (Y/n) gasped when she realized that she had been placed with Shouto in the same team.

"Would you look at that?" she said, dread lacing her voice as her nerves went haywire.

"Coincidence, huh?"

"Haha, I know right?" she responded the boy bitterly, her eyes still glued to the screen.

"You look great by the way," Shouto said, bi-colored eyes raking down her figure.

(Y/n) looked up at him and smiled gratefully. "Thanks."

"All teams, move to your start areas," Aizawa announced. "The exercise will begin without warning in five minutes."

"Make sure you survive!" All Might added.

"Okay!"

Shouto turned to (Y/n) and held out his hand to the direction of their team.

"Shall we?"

(Y/n) drew in a deep breath and nodded. She followed Shouto behind and decided to risk a glance back at Katsuki.

When their eyes met, her heart skipped a beat, surprising her. The boy immediately broke eye contact and glared at Shouto's back with intense hatred. (Y/n) sighed wearily and turned around, hoping to all beings above that the exercise won't end badly.
