Chappy 43
It was silent. Too silent.
(Y/n) could hear the sound of her racing heartbeat in her ears as she stared back at Katsuki. The cool sea breeze blew through her hair, making several strands braid together, crisscrossing her face. She didn't bother shoving her hair back as she was glued. Glued to those red, fiery eyes that strangely drew her in with a piercing stare. They were like a pair of magnets. Strong, capturing, alluring, inescapable.
"Well?" a random man from the crowd impatiently asked impatiently. "What are you waiting for?"
The voice broke the palpable silence, along with the trance (Y/n) was in. She broke off the eye contact and turned to look back at the crowd with wide, dilated pupils.
Some of them sent her encouraging smiles while others jerked their heads towards the boy next to her as a 'go-ahead'.
Coming back to her senses, she opened her mouth to protest, but a rough voice beat her to it.
"Fine!! If it gets you fuckers to shut up then!!"
(Y/n) gasped when her arms were forcefully grabbed and was turned around to face Katsuki. He glared hard at her as his eyes furiously searched her face. (Y/n)'s eyes widened when his eyes flickered down to her parted lips and instantly, an alarm went off in her head.
What is he doing?!! She tried taking a step back but his grip prevented that. Why aren't I moving?!!
His fingers tightened around her skin, forcing her to move closer to him a few inches forward until they were chest to chest. (Y/n)'s hand went up to his arm to try and push him away but she only managed a weak push. When she saw him slowly leaning towards her, she let out a weak whimper. She placed her foot back in an attempt to take a step back but her body had a mind of its own and it refused to move. She could've pushed him away, put more effort into the push but it was like all her strength had disappeared and all she could do was stare as he got closer and closer.
Her heart stuttered in anticipation as a furious blush coated her cheeks and she swallowed. When Katsuki tilted his head, she instinctively squeezed her eyes shut. A hand went up to clutch her chest. Maybe if she held her hand over it, he wouldn't be able to hear how fast and hard her traitorous heart was beating.
Before he could finally seal the deal, Katsuki stopped short, his lips only centimeters shy from her soft, parted ones. He opened his eyes and glanced at (Y/n)'s face. His features softened slightly upon seeing her scared expression. His turmoil-filled gaze briefly fell on the floor and he ran his tongue across his upper teeth.
Looking back at her, he sighed and placed a quick, light kiss on her cheek before letting her go and pulling away almost immediately. (Y/n)'s eyes shot open in surprise and she automatically took a few steps backward. She pressed her fingers against her cheek as she stared wide-eyed at the ash-blonde. He wasn't looking at her, instead, he was glaring at the crowd but that didn't stop the nauseous feeling she felt in her stomach. She placed a hand on her stomach and her nails dug into the soft fabric covering it, slightly bunching it up.
The kiss was too sudden, too light to be even considered something significant yet... Why did it make her feel so... Her nails dug even deeper as if she wanted to claw out her own stomach to stop the butterflies, no, moths that were invading her personal space. She bit her lip. It wasn't right for her to feel like that.
"Are you fucking happy now?!" (Y/n) instantly jumped when Katsuki, also red-faced, suddenly yelled at the adults. "Fucking get lost before I shove my fucking foot up your asses!!"
(Y/n) turned to look at the disappointed crowd with a dazed look. They all grumbled, unsatisfied frowns on their faces, as they slowly began dispersing in different directions, leaving the two students in peace.
Or not.
(Y/n) remained staring at where the crowd was once, her fingers still pressed on her cheek while the other on her stomach as she replayed whatever had just gone down in her cluttered mind.
"Wipe that stupid ass look of your face. They're gone now."
She blinked and turned back to Katsuki, who was already turning to walk away, hands in his pockets. Without a second thought, she shot an arm out towards him with a loud 'wait!'.
Katsuki stopped but he didn't turn to look back at her. "The fuck you want."
Confusion flashed across (Y/n)'s face for a second. She then nervously rubbed a hand up and down her arm.
"I'm sorry they forced it on us. It wasn't my intention for this to happen," she paused and pursed her lips. She briefly closed her eyes to try and forge the memory out of her mind but it only served to make her blush harder. She sighed and opened her eyes. Better get over this while I still have the chance. "Look, if I had known that this would've happened, then maybe-"
Katsuki didn't wait for her finish when he suddenly clicked his tongue and continued on his way.
(Y/n)'s forehead creased and she took a few quick steps forward before grabbing his arm and tugged him back. "Will you listen to me?! What is suddenly your problem?!"
The ash-blond growled and roughly yanked his arm from her hold, making her gasp.
"Nothing's wrong. I'm fine," he said, his jaw clenched with the effort not to scream it as he glared at the nearing land. "Nothing's fucking changed."
She scoffed. "Oh yeah, because 'Nothing's wrong. I'm fine'," she mocked his words in a terrible impersonation of his voice. "Is you suddenly walking away from me and not giving me the chance to talk to you. Will you just tell me what's wrong?"
"What the fuck do you want from me?!" Katsuki's growled deeply, his form shaking in anger as his hands balled up into fists. "I told you, nothing's wrong!"
"Yes there is!" she threw her hands in the air. "Can't you see that I'm trying to at least talk to you?! Do you have to be so hardheaded?!"
A vein popped out of his neck as crows feet radiated from the corners of his enraged eyes. He swiveled around and stomped back to her. Despite his deranged expression, (Y/n) reminded unflinching even when he invaded her personal space to lean closer to her face.
"Then fucking stop trying!" he hissed with venom.
(Y/n)'s eyebrows shot up and she crossed her arms over her chest while sending him a 'just who the fuck do you think you're talking to?' look.
Katsuki's scowl deepened when he realized that, just like all the other times before, (Y/n) didn't dare back off and his rage shot through the roof. He bit back the nasty words that threatened to come out of his brazen mouth and he clicked his tongue.
He took a step back and glared at a spot behind her shoulder.
What was the fucking point? Dealing with (Y/n) was like a heartbreak that he'd always accept with open arms like the fucking fool he was. He knew that. Heck, he's always known that. Yet there he was again...like a fool. Expecting what's not to be expected. Giving heart for hurt to be returned.
It just had to be (Y/n).
Of all the dense retards in the world, it just had to be fucking (Y/n) that he had to fucking like.
Figures.
With a light scoff, Katsuki's scowl reformed into a neutral expression and without a word, he shoved past (Y/n) to head to the opposite direction.
(Y/n) sighed, lips pursed slightly and her gaze flickered to the side impatiently. She turned around to face him but didn't make set out to follow him. Numerous theories ran through her mind as to why he was acting like that but only one stood out.
"Is this because of the kiss?" the question came out of her mouth without her control but it was too late to turn back so she continued. "If so then, I don't get it, why are you so angry about it?" she made a face. "I mean, it's not like I-I forced you to do it or anything."
Katsuki halted. A muscle in his jaw twitched.
That piece of shit really didn't fucking get it, did she?
"If you didn't force me then why the fuck did you act like I was forcing you to do it?" he looked at her over her shoulder and sent her a black look. "Hah? You wanna answer that?"
"Wha-!" (Y/n)'s eyes widened and her arms fell limp back to her sides. "What-no! You didn't force me to do it!"
Katsuki scoffed a mirthless laugh and turned around to face her. "You looked like you'd rather take a fucking knife to the throat than kiss me!!"
Shock transformed the girl's face. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
As she looked at the boy, she could see the hurt and anger that swam in those very eyes she had stared into back then and everything suddenly made sense to her.
And that's when her irritation crackled.
"Well how did you expect me to react?!" she yelled and pointed herself. "I have a boyfriend and you know that!"
"And if I recall, I very well made it fucking clear to your dumb head that I don't give a goddamn fuck if you had a one or not!!" he snapped back.
"Are you seriously having this conversation with me right now?!" her eyes narrowed into pinpricks as she took steps towards to him until she was inches away from him. "Are you serious?!"
"What, are you fucking blind?! You see me laughing about this shit?!" Katsuki asked with a roar.
(Y/n) uttered a mix between a sigh and frustrated groan while tugging at the roots of her hair. She took the chance to look around and that was when she noticed that some people had been watching their fight the whole time. But honestly, she didn't care. She was too vexed by Katsuki the asshole to fucking care.
"You know what?!" she jabbed a finger to his chest. "That's your problem! You never think about how your actions affect the others around you because all you focus on is getting what you want without considering other people's feelings! It's always about you! Katsuki-imma-be-number-one-and-I-don't-care-who-gets-hurt-along-the-way-die Bakugou," she gave a harsh laugh. "That's just how it is and will always be for you. You know what? Just-ugh. Just go jump off the boat for all I care," she scoffed and sized him up. "I'm done."
Katsuki's eyes widened when she turned away to walk away from him. Before she could even get a good distance away, he grabbed her wrist and yanked her back to him.
"Don't touch-" (Y/n)'s protest was cut short when her head was pushed against a hard chest. The smell of nitroglycerin, ash, and traces of cologne infiltrated her senses and it made her head spin. She registered that Katsuki was somewhat 'hugging' her with a hand behind her neck to hold her in place while the other held on to her wrist, twisted behind her back so that it caged her to him and made it harder for her to escape.
"Who said I didn't give a damn about you?"
At his words, (Y/n) got over her shock, which was replaced back by the anger she harbored towards him and placed her free hand on his chest to push him back. When he refused to budge, she curled her fingers into a fist and began hitting his chest. Her hits were weak, Katsuki noted, but she was still irritated with him.
"Stop moving," he ordered, making her breath hitch in her throat when she felt his grip on her wrist tighten and pushed her body closer to his. She stopped moving, her fist lying immobile on his chest. Katsuki sighed and looked down at the top of her head. He'd give just about anything to run his hands through that hair. He looked up and frowned at the distance. As resentful and as hurt as he still was, at the end of the day, she was his weakness and losing her was still, annoyingly, one of his greatest fears.
"If I didn't give a fuck about how you felt," he added and stroked his thumb against the soft curve of her neck. "Then I would've fucking kissed you."
(Y/n) tensed as a flush crept up her face. His words held so much weight and sincereness in them that she doubted if he was lying in the first place. She sighed and buried her face further into his chest to conceal her red face. She tried holding on to the anger she felt but...the feelings in her tummy kept her from doing so and with each passing second, she felt herself relax into his hold.
"I'm not going to apologize for what I said but..." she drifted off, staring at the patch of skin visible under the unbuttoned shirt. She licked her lips and let out a shaky breath. "...Thanks...for that."
A beat of silence passed between them before Katsuki reluctantly let go of the girl and she pulled away to look up at him. She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear and sighed. She was still very aware of her flushed face but she tried ignoring it.
"Look," she shot him a pleading look. "Let's...forget out about it. Whatever happened, the fight, everything. Can we do that, please?"
Katsuki stared at her with an indecipherable look for a moment before he nodded. Despite having to swallow down the bitter feelings, he was partly angry with himself. He had to go and be a fucking slip up, letting his stupid butthurt feelings get the best of him and lash out at (Y/n), who hadn't done anything wrong. But even though he was in the wrong, he wasn't going to suck it up and apologize.
He simply scoffed and looked away from her.
"Fine," he muttered faintly. "Don't have to tell me twice."
(Y/n) forced a smile, but she truly was grateful that everything was finally resolved. Their fights were frequent, to a point it was, but it brought her a good sense of peace whenever they stopped arguing.
Katsuki turned around to head to where the others were gathered as they were nearing the beach. He stopped in his tracks and glanced over his shoulder at (Y/n), who was still standing and staring after him.
"You coming or what?"
She nodded and fast walked to catch up to him.
As they walked in a slightly uncomfortable silence towards the crowd, (Y/n) noticed that another crowd had formed around one part of the deck and she stopped, curious to find out what was happening.
"What's happening over there?" she asked.
Katsuki stopped to look over her shoulder. He followed the line of her vision and shrugged.
"Probably a cult meeting," he scowled, obviously still bitter over what the adults forced them to do. "No wonder all these assholes have their heads screwed on backwards. Bunch of cunts."
Ignoring his comment, the female jerked her head in the direction of the crowd. "I'm gonna go check it out real quick. You stay here and don't get lost, 'kay?"
Katsuki turned to her and scoffed, arms crossing over his chest. "Then be my guest. Don't come complaining to me when it's your turn to kill the fucking goat."
(Y/n) chuckled and playfully shoved his shoulder. "Just stay here Katsuki. It won't take more than five minutes."
"Whatever," he rolled his eyes. "Go already."
Satisfied with his otherwise straightforward answer, she nodded and made her way towards them. She elbowed her way in, thankful for her short height and managed to reach the front. She finally saw what they were interested in.
They had crowded around a large table filled with many pictures stuck onto it. As she looked at them she realized that they were pictures taken on that cruise.
Wow. (Y/n) incredulously stared at a picture of some drunk person stripping on a table. That Jean guy must've been busy.
On instinct, she began looking for theirs, that is if they were there. The girl didn't remember seeing him take any pictures of them apart from the one where she was feeding Katsuki.
Come to think of it, I totally forgot about that. She thought as her (e/c) eyes trailed over the numerous photos. She frowned when she didn't find any of theirs. It was to be expected since they spent the whole night locked up in one of the rooms but it would've been at least nice to have something to remind her of the night.
Just as she was about to give up, something was held up in front of her face, obstructing her vision.
"Looking for this?"
(Y/n) blinked twice, before hesitantly taking the picture and looked at whoever had given her. The stranger winked at her before turning to continue the search for his from the table.
"Uh...thanks?" she said, an eyebrow risen before she looked down at the picture in her hand.
Her heart skipped a beat.
The picture was very recent. Too recent. In fact, it was actually taken just minutes ago.
It had perfectly captured the moment when Katsuki had kissed her. Her eyes were tightly closed, lips slightly parted as he held on to her arms while leaning into her. His head was tilted, perfectly angled towards the camera that it made it seem like he was actually going in for a kiss and she was consenting to it. The morning sun had brightened their features, giving them a tad bit halo effect around them and all the more reason to make the picture look less innocent like it should be.
She grimaced and pressed a hand to her throat when heat crept up her face as her heart increased its pace. She started feeling the sensation of his lips again on her once again. Cursing under her breath, the (h/c)-haired girl placed the picture against her chest, as if concealing it from any prying eyes.
Oh my God. I can't let anyone see this! I'll die of embarrassment!! What if-what if Shouto sees this?!!
Realization dawned on her face.
Shouto.
How would he react? Of course, he'd rage. And seeing the picture would set him off even more.
Suddenly, she started feeling guilty. Not only would he be angry, but also be angry at herself for going with Katsuki in the first place.
Oh great...now, what? She placed a hand on her forehead and drummed her fingers against the hard surface as she thought of her next step.
I'll just tell him. Tell him that Katsuki offered and I couldn't say no because I really really wanted to go. Stupid reason but that works. Also, tell him about the kiss but don't show him the photo. No evidence about it so fewer chances of him getting angry. Yeah, yeah that's good.
She nodded in agreement to her concluded thoughts. Though she felt a bit guilty for hiding the picture from him, it was for the greater good. She didn't want a fight to start because of a simple picture.
(Y/n) then remembered Katsuki who was still waiting for her. Before heading to him, she tucked the picture into her bra, precisely in one of the cups. She then smoothed down her chest while making sure the outline of the picture wasn't visible. She winced when she felt an edge of the picture start to cut into her soft flesh and she dug her hand into her bra to adjust it into a more comfortable position. When it was fixed, she pushed up her breasts to make herself look more presentable and smiled to herself in satisfaction.
She then lifted her head up, only to find lock eyes with the man standing next to her. Ashamed of his blatant ogling, he cleared his throat and immediately looked away when she shot him a glare.
Shaking her head, she turned and pushed her way out of the crowd. She found Kastuki leaning back against the railings while looking heavenward. He looked down when he heard her approach and frowned in disapproval.
"Took you long enough."
The minute she saw him, she went up in flames from the neck up when the simple but lingering kiss crossed her mind, catching her off-guard.
Stop thinking about it! I thought we were over this! (Y/n) scolded herself, unable to understand why she kept getting flustered over it.
"Oi, birdbrain," Katsuki flicked her forehead. "Snap out of it."
"Owww," (Y/n) frowned at him while rubbing at the assaulted spot. "Don't do that.'
Katsuki ignored her and glanced back at the crowd. "What's going on over there?"
She heaved out a sigh and lifted her shoulder in a half-shrug.
"Nothing special," she lied. She realized that she had been lying quite a lot since the previous night and something told her that it wouldn't be the last time. "Anyway, do you still have that photo from last night on you?"
"Yeah," Katsuki said as he jammed his hand in his pocket to fish out the picture but stopped when she held out a hand.
"Don't take it out," she said. "Honestly, I don't care what you do with it. I just remembered about it and I wanted to know if you still have it."
Another lie.
She cared. She cared a lot to the point that she really hoped that he wouldn't show Shouto the picture. Knowing Katsuki, he might decide to start a fight with Shouto over anything and the picture could serve as his trump card. She smiled wearily at the space between them. Katsuki was just that crazy.
(Y/n) sighed, her mind going back to the picture she had hidden. She felt a mix of guilt and justification by hiding it. There wasn't any reason for her to hide the picture from Katsuki. It did belong to both of them but still, she felt like she wanted it kept a secret.
Something that only belonged to her and her only.
Even though she comforted herself by telling her mind that she'd tell Shouto the truth about the kiss, it still didn't help with her conscience. Plus also, what was the reason for keeping the picture from him when she'd tell him of what had occurred? Then again, she didn't know the answer. All she knew was that she felt like it.
Blocking out Katsuki's scrutinizing look, (Y/n) crossed her arms over her chest as she stared at the island in deep thought.
Was she really a bad person to want to keep it to herself?

The two arrived just in time for breakfast. They joined the others, who of course had many questions about their whereabouts. Katsuki eventually made them shut the fuck up by threatening to drown anyone who questioned them again in the pool. Of course, there were the exceptions who were not fazed by his usual all-bark-no-bite threats but they were finally shut down with a good punch to the face. It was one of the days Kaminari wished that he had Kirishima's hardening Quirk.
(Y/n) was grateful for Katsuki's intervention but even though she had escaped their probing questions, she couldn't escape Shouto's accusatory gaze from across the table. She had sat next to the girls and although she was fully participating in the conversation, she kept sending quick glances to Shouto, only to find him still staring at her with those 'I know what you did' eyes. As she brought up the glass of juice to her lips, she could feel the edges of the picture scraping against her skin each time she moved as if reminding her of its unwanted presence in the world and further increasing her guilt.
She placed the glass back down and stared hard at the table. She took in a sharp breath and her fingers tightened around the cool surface of the glass, readying herself for a thorough interrogation. Shouto needed answers and she had to give them to him.
After breakfast, the other students cleared the table, leaving only Shouto and (Y/n). (Y/n)'s heart hammered in her chest, dreading a terrible reaction from the male after she told her story.
The girl sighed and stood up. She crossed over to the other side of the table and hesitantly took a seat next to him.
Better start.
"Hey..." she flashed him a strained smile which instantly fell when the boy maintained his aloof expression. She sighed and began playing with her ring finger. "Are you mad?"
"No," he answered simply, surprising and relieving the girl. "Something told me you'd eventually end up going with him since he's that persistent."
(Y/n) bit her lower lip as she readied herself to tell him the truth. "Shouto, I have something to tell you."
"What is it?" he asked. There was still no change in his expression and it served to make her more nervous than she already was.
She drew in a long breath while counting down in her mind before she stopped. The more she looked at him, the more her willingness to spill the beans wavered. She suddenly felt horrible. Conflicted thoughts jumbled up in her mind as she weighed her options. If she were to tell him, he'd get angry and he'd go after Katsuki, regardless of whether it was forced or not. Also, she'd never be allowed her to hang out with Katsuki again, which would secretly bother her since she really enjoyed his company.
She sighed. She couldn't tell him. She just couldn't. If she didn't tell him, chances are that the kiss would be completely forgotten. Termed as a simple fluke that accidentally occurred. But the downside would be the guilt that would eat her afterward.
"(Y/n)."
The girl was snapped back to reality by his persisting tone, tilting his head down a bit to signify he was still waiting for her to speak.
She bit her lip. If she were being honest, dealing with guilt seemed much better than seeing the look of betrayal on his face.
"Uh..." she shrugged. "It was so boring. Like, heck, I don't even know why I was so hyped about it in the first place," she shrugged while holding up her hands, palms up. " I mean we literally spent the whole night just sitting around and watching a movie."
Yet another lie but a half lie.
Shouto raised an unconvinced eyebrow. "Is that what you wanted to tell me?"
"Of course! Look," the girl quickly gathered his hands into hers. "I didn't wanna tell you because I didn't want you to feel like you went out on your way to give me a great night only for it to flop. Besides, you don't have to worry about Katsuki and I, nothing happened. I promise."
I sit on a throne of lies.
The bi-colored haired male sighed and sent her a small smile. "I know that. I just want to make sure that you're okay. Even though I wasn't happy that you went with him, it wouldn't be fair to get angry since I did push you to go in the first place. But..."
The girl's breath hitched a bit, her eyebrows knitting together. "But?"
"But you have to tell me everything that happened," Shouto finished, making the girl release the breath she was holding.
"Sure, why not," (Y/n) returned the smile and nodded, but that didn't help the guilt she felt.
Keen to end the uncomfortable discussion, she scanned the restaurant before remembering his injury and looked at his leg.
"How's your leg by the way?" she asked.
"It's fine," he responded, pulling his hands out of her hold and standing up with ease. "Apparently, the mother of the child I saved knew someone with a healing Quirk at the hotel. She sent him to me late last night."
What commendable timing. I applaud. "That's great," she gave a strained smile and stood up. "I'm glad you're okay."
"Me too," he said and shoved his hands in his pants pockets. "I was wondering how you'd have managed to carry me back."
"Wow," the girl rolled her eyes while chuckled. "As if."
The male smiled and intertwined his fingers with hers as he began pulling her towards the direction of the rooms. (Y/n) allowed herself to be pulled. She sneaked a peek at the side of his face and her smile disappeared when she remembered her lie.
She pressed her lips into a grim line as guilt clouded her face.
Oh, Shouto. I'm so sorry...but some things are just meant to be kept secret...
***
(Y/n) pulled her suitcase into the house and swung the door closed with her heel. She heaved out a loud exhale and let her bag slide down her shoulder. She looked around the hallway and a tired smile appeared on her face.
"I'm home!" she declared with a chuckle. "Where's my hug at?"
She was replied with total silence and she rolled her eyes in amusement. Nanami wasn't home, as expected. She was probably out there somewhere agonizing on her daughter's return and the end to her weekend of solitude and not having anyone else hog the TV remote and criticize her choice of beverage.
Snorting, the girl toed off her shoes and began the struggle of pulling her suitcase up the stairs. By the time she arrived at the top step, she was about to die from exhaustion. Panting, she rolled her luggage into her room and dropped it at the foot of her bed. She then plopped down headfirst on her bed and sank in the duvets.
All she wanted to do was sleep but since she couldn't do that when she felt all sweaty and grimy from the journey back home, she had to shower first.
Reluctantly, she got off her bed and headed to her suitcase to take out her towel. She kneeled in front of it, opened it and started rummaging through it for her towel. She tossed a few clothes and toiletries out, making a mental note to collect them after her shower as she was too damn tired. When she found the towel, she pulled it out. In the process, a piece of paper fell on the floor.
"Huh?" (Y/n)'s brows creased and she dropped the towel back in the suitcase to investigate the piece of paper.
It was a picture, lying face down but it didn't take (Y/n) more than two brain cells to recognize it. Back at the hotel, before they left for home, she had quickly fished it out of her bra and tucked it in between her clothes while changing into her school uniform. She had been lucky that no one had seen it otherwise, it would've been the start of something so unsettling even she couldn't have handled it.
Licking her slightly chapped lips, she gingerly picked up the picture and overturned it, her eyes meeting the memory that still stirred disconcerting feelings within her. She could feel the heat slowly creeping up her face and she frowned.
What puzzled her the most, was the fact that no matter what she did, she just couldn't seem to get her mind off of it. All through the bus ride, she tried keeping up a decent conversation with Shouto, but every single time he'd turn his gaze away from her, she'd find herself sneaking glances at the back of Katsuki's chair and wondering. Wondering if he thought about it. Wondering if he was as embarrassed about it like she was. Wondering why she was so affected by something so innocent.
But if it were so innocent, then why did she hide the picture? No, in fact, why did she keep it in the first place?
(Y/n) stared hard at the picture and her fingers tightened around the edges.
Maybe if she just tore it, the feelings would go away.
Her eyes narrowed and her lips pursed slightly. The picture was physical evidence of what had occurred and holding onto it made the memory real. Fleshed out. If she tore it, then there wouldn't be any physical evidence, just memory.
Pinching the middle of the picture in between her fingers, she sighed. Memories can always be wiped away if one willed it to do so.
Just as she was about to rip it into a half, her eyes accidentally fell on the point of contact where Katsuki's lips met her cheek. She paused and looked at the picture once more. In one single picture, she could see a lot of emotions. Fear, shock, confusion, hurt, dread, love...
At the last point, (Y/n) screwed her eyes shut and her hands flew up to her hair to tug at it, letting the picture fall back down. Her face was completely scarlet and she just wanted to scream in frustration.
What is wrong with me?! She furiously scratched her head. I should slap myself. Maybe I'll stop this madness!
With a nod, she swung her hand back and harshly smacked her cheek, her head turning to the side from the force.
"Ow!! Fuck!! Ow..." she hissed out in pain while cradling her abused, stinging cheek. "That's gonna leave a mark..."
After rubbing away the soreness, she glared down at the root of the problem. She swiped it from the ground, stood up and headed to her bedside table.
The girl opened the drawer, took out her rarely used diary and tucked the picture in between the pages. Convinced that she'd probably forget about it when it was out of sight, she closed the book and placed it at the bottom of the drawer. She closed the drawer and set her hands on either side of the table's edge. She sighed and briefly closed her eyes.
I want to look at it again.
Her eyes flew open and she threw her head back in a groan while pinching the bridge of her nose. I must be going out of my mind.
With a heavy sigh, she dropped her arm back to her side and stared at the drawer with conflicted eyes.
A few seconds later, she turned to walk back to her suitcase when she suddenly turned around, opened the drawer, took out the diary, opened it and looked at the picture again. She stared at it for a while and she wistfully sighed. She traced a finger on the picture and drew her bottom lip between her teeth.
The weird feeling in her stomach returned, along with the feeling of Katsuki's lips on her skin and she remembered it very vividly.
They were so soft and gentle. Unlike his personality. And oh-so-warm.
A yearning smile crept up her lips as she recalled the feel. She relished in the moment for a while before she finally caught herself. Her smile instantly fell and she repeatedly smacked her forehead.
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! She repeatedly scolded herself as she returned the picture into the diary, slammed it shut and returned it to the drawer before closing it.
She returned to her suitcase, dropping cross-legged on the floor in front of it, all the while reprimanding herself for such behaviors which clearly meant nothing to her. And to think that she had the insolence to be thinking about it when she had a boyfriend, who she not only lied to but also hid from one important piece of information from.
If that didn't make her a shitty girlfriend, then she didn't know what else would.
Her expression dulled and she lowered her head in guilt and shame.
She really was a shitty girlfriend, huh?
She scoffed and took her towel from the case before standing up. Throwing it over her shoulder, she turned to make her way to the bathroom.
Hopefully, the cold water would make her guilt go away and maybe, possibly, forget why his lips felt so nice...
