Chappy 22

(Y/n) ceaselessly paced around the room, hands in her loose hair and still clad in Katsuki's clothes. Her eyes were widened in disbelief and her breathing had quickened due to early morning stress.

"Oh my God!" she exclaimed for the fifth time that morning. "I can't believe we forgot it back there?! How could we forget it?!!"

Katsuki, who was casually leaning against his door while sending her an annoyed look for waking him up so early in the morning to start "whining", rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest. He was planning to wake up at late noon but no, she just had to remember she left her file. Don't get him wrong, in normal circumstances, he'd care, but it was fucking seven fifteen in the morning and not even half the fucking world was awake including his tired brain so, honestly, he didn't give a fuck.

"Would you calm the fuck down?" he closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. He really wanted to get back to bed. "It's fucking morning. We'll go get it back later."

(Y/n) stopped her pacing and shot him a dirty look while pointing at him. "No!! Don't tell me to fucking calm down!! Do you know what I went through to get that file?! Huh?! Do you?!!"

Katsuki let his hand drop down and his eyes shot open with a growl. "Yes I do, you dumb fuck!! I was right there!! Now, will you fucking shut up?!!"

(Y/n) opened her mouth to retort but nothing came out, so instead, she covered her face with her hands and plopped down on the edge of the bed with a moan. "I can't believe it! How can I be so fucking careless?"

Uncovering her face, she pushed back her hair and hugged herself. She stared at her lap with a defeated and turmoil-filled look on her face.

She had woken up that morning, a bit disoriented and confused as to why she wasn't in her room but then remembered that she had spent the night at Katsuki's place. Peeking her head over the edge, she caught a glimpse of Katsuki still sleeping. From the looks of it, he was a 'messy sleeper'. With arms thrown at each side of the mattress, his duvets were kicked off to the side, exposing his body. His pillow was at the edge of the mattress, his head wasn't even laying on it. It was like he was fighting in his sleep. (Y/n) snorted and leaned to the side to take her phone. Katsuki was always fighting with something, even in his sleep. But as she was about to lie back on the bed, she sent him one last look. She noticed that he looked more peaceful while asleep. Not giving it much thought, she shrugged and lied back on the bed. She had begun checking her notifications when a thought struck her. And struck her it did. She remembered that when coming back from Hajime main office, she didn't have the file. Meaning that she had left it behind, either at the receptionist's desk or on one of the chairs in the waiting area.

To say she was shocked was an understatement. She woke Katsuki up, shaking him and screaming to his face about the file. Katsuki, bad-tempered from the morning wake up call, woke up and instantly began shouting at her while she shouted back. They were at it for nearly a full thirty minutes until both of them calmed down, slightly.

Katsuki, who was staring at the dejected female the whole time, sighed in resignation. Scowling bitterly at the side for a second when he recalled the awesome dream she had fucking cut short with her yelling, he looked at back her with a softened expression.

"Don't fucking cry on my bed, idiot."

Drumroll, please...And the award for Most Comforting goes to-wait, no. He doesn't deserve it. He's a cunt. Stop the drumroll.

Katsuki mentally smacked himself. That was supposed to come out in a different way. But let's be honest, when it came to Katsuki speaking out his true feelings in sensitive situations, his words more or less tended to sound more asshole-like than he intended them to be.

And this was proven right with the glare (Y/n) sent him.

The boy ignored the glare and pushed himself from the door to make his way towards her. Thankfully, he had pushed the mattress to its original position against the far wall, otherwise, he'd have to walk on it or push it around to walk to her. Either way, he ain't about that life.

He stopped in front of her, forcing her to look up to him and his towering height over her. They stared at each other for a period of time, the deafening silence in contrast to the loud bickering they had since they woke up.

Finally, he opened his mouth to speak.

"We're gonna get it back, promise."

(Y/n) eyes flickered to both his intense red eyes, and she could see the sincerity in them. She still felt terrible about it and was mad at herself for the fact that she was so forgetful of something so important but Katsuki's assurance in his eyes made her feel slightly better and hopeful.

She forced a smile on her face.

"So quit your whining. You ruined my fucking morning."

Screw fake smiling.

She kicked him in the gut.

***

Katsuki was not pleased.

(Y/n) had kicked him in the gut and was not even in the slightest apologetic about it. In fact, ever since they had gotten out of his room, which was after him giving her an intensive yelling session for kicking him, she had settled for ignoring him and giving him the evil eye throughout breakfast.

Mitsuki, who had heard their bickering since morning, set her wrathful sights on Katsuki and proceeded to blame him for harassing quote, unquote: "sweet (Y/n)". She m then pinched his cheeks and hit him thrice upside the head and when she wasn't looking, even "sweet (Y/n)" brutally added one of hers making it four times.

Katsuki was royally pissed off.

Masaru, worried out his mind about their supposed "dwindling relationship", inquired what the problem was. While Katsuki was busy sulking down at his plate, (Y/n) explained her issue to him. The brunette male was understanding and even offered to fetch it for her since they didn't open up on Sundays and also they'd be too busy to pick it up while on their internships. The female had never been so grateful. In addition, Masaru asked what the yelling sounds were, specifically the ones of pain and agony. (Y/n) proceeded to explain that Katsuki had tried to hit her but ended up tripping and falling to the ground instead, which would also explain the mysterious thud that preceded the dying animal sounds. Katsuki turned to glare at her. (Y/n) innocently shrugged at him. Mitsuki hit Katsuki over the head again.

Katsuki was going to go apeshit.

Breakfast was a disaster, to Katsuki anyway because (Y/n) was having the time of her life. She had decided to go back to talking to Katsuki but on the minimum since she was still mad at him. Petty, she didn't care. Since her clothes were in the wash, courtesy of Mitsuki, she had to go back home in Katsuki's clothes. It wasn't the least of her problems as she could be spotted on the way and misunderstanding would ensue but at least she didn't have to go braless. Saying bye and thanks to both Mitsuki and Masaru, she left with still-pissed-off Katsuki, who had at first refused to escort her but after Mitsuki threatened him, he reluctantly went. They made small talk, well one-sided because Katsuki, the little bitch, only responded in grunts and one worded answers as payback for his hell of a morning. In the end, (Y/n) gave up talking altogether and they resulted in walking in silence. When they reached her place, she didn't even bother bidding him goodbye. It wasn't like he waited for her to do so in the first place. So, instead, vengeful as she is, she sneaked up on him and shoved him, making him stumble forward. Scared for her life, she ran into her house and closed the front door, locking it. It was open, a lucky shot as she could hear Katsuki's murderous screaming outside clear as day.

Katsuki was going to kill that piece of shit.

Confirming that he had indeed given up and gone home, she made her way into her house, still shaky from the adrenaline. She could've almost died that day. Nanami, on seeing her, hugged her with more affection as usual as it was rare for the girl to spend nights away from home.

The woman pulled away from her and her eyes raked down her appearance. She frowned and raised a questioning eyebrow at the girl. First, it was the screaming outside but she chose not to mention that as she assumed they were only playing. But also showing up in his clothes?

(Y/n), rolled her eyes at her silent accusation and quickly raised her hands up in defense. "Nothing happened. Just a sleepover."

Maybe I was thinking too much of it. Nanami's frown twisted into an innocent grin as she clasped her hands in front of her face. "I didn't say it did!"

The girl sighed wearily and walked around her to head up to her bedroom.

Nanami turned to her with a puzzled expression. "Honey, where are you going?"

"To sleep," the girl responded monotonously as she climbed up the stairs. The reality of leaving the file behind at the offices had both mentally and physically wore her down in unexplainable ways. Also, her bickering with Katsuki all morning had taken out a chunk of her day's energy.

"Now?" Nanami asked, her voice tinged with worry as she continued staring at the girl's retreating back.

"Yup."

"Until tomorrow?"

The girl raised her hand in a wave as she climbed up the last stair. "Probably."

"But, have you eaten?" Nanami's worried voice came from downstairs. "It's just midday, sweetie! Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes and ya! Goodnight!" (Y/n) responded loudly before the sound of her slamming door resonated from upstairs.

The girl plopped down on her comfortable bed and sunk into the duvet. It wasn't filled with Katsuki's natural smell but hers and she had missed it. Not caring to take off his clothes since they were warm and she was lazy, she crawled into her bed and closed her eyes.

She blissfully exhaled. She was going to sleep until the time she chose to wake up. Whether she woke up late at night or the following morning, she didn't care. And with that, she slept.

That night (?), while Katsuki was in his bed, still awake and browsing the internet for educational things, he got a text.

[4:20 AM] Mine (dumbass): blaze it bitch 🔥🔥

His face went blank.

Katsuki hated himself for falling for an idiot.

The next morning, everyone in class 1-A was ready to start their internships at the various pro-heroes' agencies. They had all boarded the school bus that took them to the train station so they could take their various trains to their various destinations. Before they parted, Mr. Aizawa decided to brief the students.

"You all have your costumes, right?" he asked, his eyes lazily scanning his students in scrutiny. "Remember, you aren't allowed to wear them in public. Don't drop them or anything."

"Yessir!" Mina gushed excitedly while lifting her briefcase in the air.

"Speak clearly!" Mr. Aizawa scolded the girl. "It's 'yes, sir,' Ashido."

Hanging her head down in shame, she pouted. "Yes, sir..."

The man sighed and sent the rest of the students a stern look. "Make sure you mind your manners with the heroes at your internships. Off with you now."

"Yes, sir!"

(Y/n) looked around the packed station. People were walking back and forth towards the terminal and exits. A female voice on the intercom sounded in the background, announcing the arrival of a train that was destined for Osaka.

The girl adjusted the strap of her bag on her shoulder before taking out a folded piece of paper from her pocket. She unfolded it and read it.

Center of Tokyo. Train 3. Terminal 5H

"(Y/n)."

The girl hummed in response, looking up to see Shouto standing before her with a neutral face on. Pocketing the paper, she smiled, realizing how much she had missed him over the weekend from not seeing him.

Still clutching her briefcase in one hand, she wrapped her arms around his waist as he wrapped his around her shoulders. The girl closed her eyes as she snuggled in his chest, the familiar feeling of comfort and peace overcoming her.

"I'm going to miss you," she mumbled, her words slightly muffled.

"Me too," he responded and placed a quick kiss on her head.

The girl pulled away and patted his chest, her smile still on her face. "Don't let that dictator daddy-kins put you down, okay. If he does," she pointed at him with a playful but serious look on her face. "Skewer his ass."

Shouto lightly smiled in amusement and nodded. "Sure. Don't get in trouble too."

"I promise," she giggled while lifting up her crossed fingers.

Shouto was about to say something when a loud, rough voice beat him to it.

"(Y/n)!"

Said girl turned around to see Katsuki waiting for her at a distance, a scowl on his face as he glared at the two. She nodded and held up a hand, indicating 'just a minute'. The boy rolled his eyes but she took it as a go ahead.

(Y/n) turned back to smile wearily at Shouto but found him glaring back at Katsuki. Her smile fell, her shoulder sagging as she made a withered face. It was one thing telling him what she found out that morning before departing for the station but it was another seeing how he was handling it. It wasn't good. Made her wonder for a moment how he'd react if he found out she spent a night in his bed. If he found out about it. (Y/n) pressed her free hand to her throat and grimaced. There come the guilty feelings again.

Meanwhile, Shouto still couldn't believe that of all people, (Y/n) had to go with Katsuki to Tokyo. For one whole week, she'd be together alone with him. It was like a bad joke and the dual-haired male couldn't do anything about it. It made him furious.

"Shouto."

The boy broke out of his thoughts and looked down at the girl. She was looking up at him with concern. Realizing that it wasn't the time or place, he relaxed and sent her a reassuring nod.

The girl lightly smiled and nodded. She knew it was time to part but she hated doing so. She sighed and thrust her thumb back in the direction of Katsuki. "I have to go. Have fun okay? Make (Y/n) proud."

"You too."

(Y/n) blew him an air kiss and turned to leave but before she even took one more step, Shouto grabbed her arm. The girl's forehead creased and she turned to see what's wrong, only for Shouto to crash his lips onto hers.

The girl's eyes widened in brief surprise but she quickly recovered and returned the kiss. Shouto pulled away and engulfed her in a sudden hug. (Y/n) giggled at his sudden but adorable clinginess and hugged back, but what she didn't notice was the pointed, possessive look Shouto gave the jealous Katsuki over her head.

Shouto was marking his territory and Katsuki felt like tearing his whole face apart.

The male then leaned into her ear, his eyes still glued on Katsuki and whispered. "If he does anything, and I mean anything to you, don't hesitate to tell me."

The girl knitted her brows together but nodded nonetheless. Shouto kissed her cheek and pulled away. He waved goodbye to her and turned to leave for his train. The (h/c)-haired female stared at his back, his words still ringing in her ear.

What does he mean by that?

"Yo! Are we going or what?!" Katsuki snapped behind her, still raging from Shouto's territorial claim.

(Y/n) shook her head, dismissing her questionable thoughts and turned to follow Katsuki to the terminal.

***

The duo settled in their seat with Katsuki sitting next to the window while the girl sat at the end.

The passengers were already in and the attendant was announcing the departure to Tokyo.

"This is going to be so much fun! We can tell each other so many stories! I have so many games in mind, by the way. You know, since we're gonna stay in the same hotel and stuff," (Y/n) gushed excitedly at the male as she skimmed through a brochure for Tokyo. It was a beautiful city and she feared the pictures didn't do it much justice. She'd always wanted to go there and now she had the chance. She'd make sure to make the most of it with the limited time she had. "Wow, this city has so many places to go. Have you been to Tokyo before?"

Katsuki grunted in response, resting his cheek on his palm as he directed his glare outside of the train.

The girl turned to him with wide eyes. "Really?" she looked back at the brochure and smiled. "Wow. Okay, so how about I name a few places and you tell me if you've ever gone there?" she turned back to him. "Sound good?"

"Yeah, whatever."

30 minutes later***

(Y/n) lay dead asleep, her head on Katsuki's shoulder with his school jacket draped around her. Katsuki, on the other hand, was wide awake and was blankly staring outside with his arms crossed over his chest.

He silently scoffed at her quick resignation to sleep but completely didn't mind it. Fifteen minutes into her questionnaire, she had begun yawning and had leaned her head on his shoulder, only for her to fall asleep.

Nevertheless, he still liked the feeling of her leaning on his shoulder, something that had never happened before and he wasn't willing for it stop any time soon.

His mind then flashed back to Shouto's possessive glare back at the station and his usual glare increased tenfold. He turned to look at the sleeping girl.

He had one week with her. Alone. Shouto's warning or not, he'd be a fool to let that week go to waste.

"This...is it?" the girl wondered out loud as she gaped at the old motel.

Night had fallen and the motel's flashy lights made it easy to spot from afar. Various street lamps were lined up to illuminate the building but the neon lights stood out. It looked rundown and the sign flashed in red neon colors, read 'The Free Bird'. Only two cars were parked out front and not many people passed through the street despite Tokyo being a heavily populated place.

Katsuki scoffed in derision beside her. He carried his briefcase over his shoulder while his other held on to his black duffel bag.

"What did you expect, a five-star hotel your Highness?" he jeered as he passed her while beginning to head into the motel.

Duh. (Y/n) twisted her face in disgust as she followed him into the dingy place. "But motels are for well...you know."

Katsuki pushed the door open and looked over his shoulder to glower at the girl. "This is the one they booked us in. Now shut up and suck it up."

(Y/n) flipped him off and pushed past him. Looking around as she headed to the reception, she noticed it wasn't as run down inside as it looked outside. It was somehow decent and silent...which was unusual considering what motels were used for.

Shifting her briefcase to her other hand, she approached the front desk. Behind it, sat an old woman, no older than 50 years. Her hair was greying and the wrinkles at the corner of her eyes made them seem smaller. She was watching some kind of show on a mini TV behind the desk, not even realizing the new presence of the two teenagers.

Flickering her eyes between the woman and the TV, (Y/n) cleared her throat. The woman lazily turned to look at the girl and she smiled brightly.

"Hi," she began. By this time, Katsuki had reached up with her and was standing next to her. "We're students of U.A. and we're here on an internship, booked under Best Jeanist and Sir. Nighteye."

The woman narrowed her eyes at the girl, her eyes going to Katsuki before falling back on the girl. She sighed heavily and cast one last longing glance at her show. She then grabbed a large book from the corner of her desk and pulled it nearer to her.

"Sharing or separate?" she asked as she opened the book and grabbed a pen. Her voice sounded raspy like she had had a nasty cough and needed to clear her throat.

"Separate," the girl quickly responded, unaware of Katsuki's eye roll.

The woman flipped the pages a couple of times while muttering the names of the pro-heroes under her breath. She ran the edge of her pen down the list of bookings while trying to locate their names. She flipped the page once more but paused before flipping it back to run through the previous list again. When she found them, she hummed in confirmation while nodding her head. "Yes, I see it. You'll be staying for one week, eh?"

"Ya."

"Okay, two students striving to be heroes," the woman dropped her pen back on the desk and stood up to grab two keys from a drawer behind her. She then handed them to the students respectively. "Room 68 and Room 69. Fourth floor. Closing time is 11 pm. Rules are in each room. I expect minimum noise and minimum use of Quirks, am I clear?"

(Y/n) stared at the wooden key tag with the number '68' curved on it for a second before nodding in understanding while Katsuki clicked his tongue at the mention of 'minimum use of Quirks'. But that didn't stop his excitement over having his room right next to (Y/n)'s.

"Okay, off you go now," the woman offhandedly dismissed them as she sat back down and continued watching her show.

The two, along with their bags and briefcases, headed towards the stairs as they began their journey toward the fourth floor.

"Oh...my God...Finally!" (Y/n) said between breaths as she leaned on the wall in exhaustion. She glared enviously at Katsuki, who seemed as unaffected from climbing the death flight of stairs as he went down the hall to find his room.

Taking short, deep breaths to calm her labored breathing, she pushed off the wall and walked down the hallway, passing through the doors while looking for hers. She finally found hers, directly across from Katsuki's. Katsuki's door was open and she could hear his footsteps from within, probably inspecting the room's sanitary standards. She fumbled with her keys and inserted it into the lock, a clicking sound sounding after turning it.

She opened the door and entered. Feeling the wall for the switch, she turned it on when she found it and the room was bathed in light. She scanned the room as she threw her suitcase, bag, and keys on the bed. It was a medium-sized room, not too small and not too big. It was nice enough for her. It had a single window that overlooked the city. The small bathroom was across from the bed, complete with a bathroom mirror right above the sink. The bathroom at least didn't look moldy like in the movies she watched and the bed seemed clean enough.

Satisfied, she walked out of her room and into Katsuki's without bothering to knock. She found its occupant lying face up on the bed, his eyes trained at the paint-cracked ceiling while paying no mind to the girl. His legs hung from the edge of the bed and she noticed that he kept constantly jiggling one foot like he was anxious or something.

Not putting much thought into it, (Y/n) took the opportunity to look around his room, finding it similar to hers except...

"Hey, wait a minute," she frowned. "Why does yours have a closet? That's unfair, on like, so many levels."

Katsuki remained silent and draped an arm over his eyes. His foot had stopped jiggling.

(Y/n) thinned her lips into a straight line. "Are you ignoring me?"

"Does it matter?"

The girl's frown deepened and she walked towards the male. She sat next to him on the bed and looked down at him for a moment before poking his arm. On getting no reaction from him, she went to poke him again but was stopped by his voice.

"Do that again and I'll fuck you up."

(Y/n) furrowed her eyebrows at his sudden change of tone and slowly drew her hand back. She stared at him dubiously, as his arm was still over his eyes.

Maybe he isn't feeling okay? But he looked fine on the way here. Maybe it's late jetlag? Train lag? Is that a word? "Katsuki? You okay?" she inquired curiously, finding his unusual calm nature unnerving.

"Go to sleep."

The girl frowned a bit at his command and shook her head. "It's still early and-"

"(Y/n)," he cut her off, his voice octaves lower and huskier than usual as if he was fighting against something. "Fucking go."

Huh...maybe he's just tired...

The girl sighed in defeat and rose up from the bed. "Okay. Night then."

She got no response from him, not that she was surprised, and simply shrugged. She exited the room, closing the door behind her and retreating back to her room.

Besides, she had a big day the following morning.
