xii. third wheeling

STEAL MY CLOTHES
::  xii. | third wheeling

Alexa hasn't been sure of anything for the past couple of weeks. Since the cast party and Brooklyn, things kind of took a turn in her head. Remember when she told Sarah to basically drop drew and find someone deserving of you? Well, Sarah kind of did. Brooklyn and her aren't dating but they have been hanging out a lot together and for some reason, Alexa doesn't like that very much.

She tries to brush it off like whatever she's feeling is nothing but it's most definitely something. She just doesn't know what it is. She never felt this way about anybody, let alone a girl. So she's confused and seeing Brooklyn all the time isn't helping much.

The day before, Sarah invited Alexa to tag along with her and Brooklyn to go sightseeing. They never been to downtown Vancouver so, they thought it would be cool. To alexa's knowledge, she said yes. So today is that day. And Alexa is not really looking forward to it.

Sarah came through the front door with breakfast in her hands from ihop. There were only three scenes left of the movie to shoot and it sucked because the two of them were just getting close. Sarah noticed alexa's bedroom door was still closed so she thought she'd surprise and wake her up. Sarah quietly opened alexa's door and saw her curled up, sleeping. She thought it was cute. She tiptoed over there and jumped on Alexa, "Morning!"

"Sarah, come on— what time is it?" Alexa groaned, rubbing her eyes.

"10:20, now get the fuck up."

"You said that so aggressively." Alexa began to sit up.

Sarah got up off of Alexa and headed to the bedroom door, "And I meant it. We're going to have a good day." She exited Alexa's room and headed back to the kitchen.

Alexa didn't quite know how to feel or process what just happened. Sarah was just on top of her and it sent nerves down her spine. It also made her dread about tonight, hanging with Brooklyn and Sarah. She's excited to hang with Sarah but with Brooklyn . . . not so much. She still couldn't figure out why, how or when these feeling or whatever they are started. She wasn't even sure if she wanted them to go away or not.

Alexa removed the covers off her then swung her legs around, placing her feet on the warm, wood floor. She exited her room and went to the kitchen to see what Sarah brought back.

Sure, she can be honest with the blonde and tell her that she didn't want to hang out but she didn't have the heart. It took unfriendly banter and them being a bitch to each other to finally become as close to friends as possible. Sure every once in awhile they're still a bitch, but it's more sincere.

Sleepily, she sat on the stool of the island and began to dig through the ihop bag, pulling out some food. Sarah was finishing up the coffee, pouring the creamer in before stirring. Sarah put the spoon in the sink and then turned around to hand Alexa her cup of coffee.

"So, what time is he coming over?" You could hear it in her tone that she didn't necessarily like Brooklyn but of course Sarah was quite oblivious.

"Around eight-ish." Sarah brought her cup to her lips and took a sip of the coffee. She then gently placed the cup back down, "Can't believe we have like three scenes left to film. This is almost over."

"You won't forget about me, right?" Alexa slightly smiled.

"How could I? You're quite memorable, demie girl." Sarah knowingly flirted back. She didn't think anything of it. She thought it was innocent, friendly.

Sarah grabbed the bag off the island counter and gave Alexa a smile before picking up her coffee and heading to her room.

It was now around 7:47pm. Brooklyn had texted Sarah about five minutes ago that he was on the way. Sarah was currently using the bathroom while Alexa sat on the couch looking through her phone. As she was going through her messages with Barbie and Sydney, a call popped up— it was Sam, director of Euphoria.

Alexa pressed the green answer button then brought the phone up to her ear, "Sam, hey. What's up?"

"Hey. Um, I talked to trey and we need to talk in the morning." He spoke on the other line.

"Everything alright?" Alexa stood up from the couch.

"Yeah, everything's fine. I was just letting you know there will be a zoom call in morning around 8."

"Sure but what about?"

"You're going to be back much sooner than expected."

"How soon?"

"Within a week tops."

Alexa bit her lower lip, "Ok. See you at 8."

And with that, the call ended and Sarah exited the bathroom to the living room. She saw something was on alexa's mind but didn't say anything. She wanted to give her some space and wait for Alexa to come to her if she wanted to talk. As Sarah just stood there staring a bit, there was a knock on the door. Alexa shot her head towards Sarah and Sarah's eyes shifted towards the door. It was obviously Brooklyn, who else would it be?

Sarah walked to the door and without any hesitation, she opened it. There stood Brooklyn with a single rose in his hand. He smiled as he presented the rose to Sarah, "Ready?"

Sarah looked back at Alexa, asking with her eyes if she was ready too.

About two hours passed and Alexa couldn't wait to go back home. They had just left the movie theater and was now on their way to McDonald's because it's open 24/7. Trashy food but they were starving. As they continued to walk, Sarah was trying to keep her eyes open. She was a bit sleepy but didn't want to tell anyone cause she didn't want to ruin the night.

As they were now only a block away from McDonald's, Sarah's eyes slowly closed making her stumble a bit and Brooklyn catching her before falling on her face.

"Should we go back? You seem tired." He glanced at Alexa then back at Sarah.

"No, no." Sarah stood back up with the help of Brooklyn, "I don't want to ruin the fun and besides, I hate going to bed hungry."

"Uh, ok then. I'll just carry you the rest of the way."

"Oh my hero." Sarah spoke in a sarcastic tone as she sleepily rolled her eyes.

Brooklyn picked Sarah up bridal style and then continued to walk to McDonald's. Alexa rolled her eyes and continued to walk as well with her arms crossed over her chest. She thought it was stupid and she didn't understand why she was invited if she was going to be third wheeling the whole night.

As the night progressed, everyone eventually ended up at McDonald's. Sarah ordered the fish sandwich, Brooklyn got the Big Mac and Alexa ordered the six piece nuggets. They all got a meal, Brooklyn paid. Alex paid no mind to either of them. They were so infatuated with each other. She couldn't tell why, Brooklyn isn't all that. She couldn't see the appeal. Once they got their food and found a table, Alexa put her headphones on. She ate as she watched the two's mouth move. Soon enough, she sunk in her chair and took out her phone. She had a feeling they were going to be there for a while and well, she didn't feel like being the third wheel anymore.
