Chapter Ten

We were chilling on the couch, shamelessly devouring one slice of pizza after another, until the extra large pizza box was empty.

Normally I could eat one of those by myself, but I wasn't going to say that out loud.

"What now?" Tyler asked, leaning forward and intertwining his hands.

"Do you want to go to our place?" Macie asked, and Tyler's eyes lit up.

"Sure, I guess it's your place now to Devan." He winked, and I grinned.

It's my place too.

I share a secret place with the bad boy and his sister.

"Cool," I said in a non-cool tone. "Let's go!"

The three of us grabbed our shoes and slid them on, before racing eachother to Tyler's car.

"I win!" Tyler shouted triumphantly, doing a cute victory dance.

Wait, What?

He raked one of his hands through his hair before climbing in the driver's seat.

He could've at least opened the door for us.

I slid in the passenger seat, and Macie slid in the back.

"I brought cans of spray paint," Tyler grinned mischeviously.

"That's vandalism." I deadpanned, giving him a blank stare.

He chuckled, "And?"

I shrugged, knowing no matter what I said, I'd have no way out of this.

We pulled up at the old school, and Tyler passed out the cans of spray paint, handing me a bright yellow one.

Really? Yellow? Ugh.

I climbed out of the car and ran over to one of the walls, shaking up the can.

I took off the cap and started drawing a sun.

I don't know why, it just seemed fitting.

I mean, this place is what created the light in so many students, I mean, no doubt there were nobody's like me, but it still gave birth to so much.

I tugged at my black shirt, it felt like it was suffocating me.

I pulled at the neck of it, but didn't feel any better.

Suddenly I felt light-headed, and it felt like I was spinning.
My stomach started churning and I felt like I was going to hurl.

My head was pounding and my heart was racing.

My ears were ringing and I could taste metal.

My knees buckled and I collapsed on the ground, I tried to call out, but nothing left my mouth.

My eyelids were getting heavy when I heard someone yelling and falling down beside me, rubbing my back.

Tyler?

Tyler.

He started whispering in my ear, telling me everything would be okay, telling me to stay awake for him.

My chest was killing me, it felt like thousands of tiny needles were stabbing me.

I inhaled sharply, before I gave in and the darkness surrounded me.

Tyler's POV-

"I called an ambulance, they said they'll be here soon." Macie said softly, taking a seat beside me.

I had Devan's hand in mine and I was stroking the back of it with the pad of my thumb.

"Do you think she'll be okay?" I questioned, and her eyes softened.

"She'll be alright. So, do you like her?" She asked, smirking.
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn't deny it.

I know we only started hanging out a few days ago, like I said before, but I like her.

Her smirk widened when I didn't answer, so she already knew the truth.

"Does she like me back?" I inquired, hope washing over me.

"I don't know, when she wakes up you'll have to ask her." I rolled my eyes again at her response.

I turned back to her, and tightened my hold on her hand.

Eventually the ambulance arrived, and fear wiped over me.

Is she going to be okay? Is she in a life or death situation?

My questions were weighing me down, and I needed to stay alert so I could do whatever I was asked to do in order to help her.

I felt a piece of my heart break when even the people putting her on the stretcher looked concerned.

I bit my lip and ran a hand through my hair, tugging at the ends of it.

Why does this happen to every girl I like? If she dies, I'll have nothing left....again.

I sat in the waiting room, bouncing my foot anxiously.

Macie was in the bathroom, and I was more terrified than I had been in a long time.

I started tugging at my hair; my stressed atmosphere caused the other people in the waiting room to start fidgeting.

I tried to calm down, but I was too worried.

Why do I care this much? I just met her.

I took a deep breath to calm myself, just as Macie came out of the bathroom.

"Would you calm down?" Macie asked, giving me a look. "Why don't you go home and get some rest. I already called mom and told her what happened."

I sighed, but nodded. "Call me if anything happens, good or bad." I demanded, and she nodded.

I drove home and took a shower, doing my best to wash away all the stress that had been collected.

I climbed in bed and closed my eyes; I wish I could say I fell asleep right away, but I was too worried about Devan.

Eventually I was able to slip into some sleep, but it only felt like minutes when my phone started ringing.

I glanced at the time, and it read, 6:00 A.M.

I answered the call and held my phone up to my ear, hoping Macie was going to tell me good news, but it was the complete opposite.

***

Sorry for this horrible chapter, but I had major writer's block, and this was my choice.

I hope I don't irritate too many people....sorry!

Now, how bad do you think this is going to be? Fatal, or just minor....tell me in the comments!
