We talked for hours and eventually dozed off. When I woke up, he wasn't in my bed, I just assumed he was either making breakfast or left for work. When I walked into my kitchen, turns out it was neither. He was asleep on couch. Okay, that's weird, like really weird. I ignored it, putting it in the back of my head for late night thoughts and began to make breakfast. I made pancakes and waffles, curious to see how to eat the ultimate breakfast. Haynes woke up just as I finished cooking. He walked into my kitchen with bed head, shirtless and blue pj pants. He looked so hot. I was wearing something hot too, so don't worry, I didn't look like my spirit animal, trash. I was wearing grey sweat shorts, a red tank top and black slippers. Simple, but still hot. I finished placing the waffles and pancakes. He smiled, grabbed a plate and took a seat.
"Someone remembered." He said with a tired voice.
I smiled, "Curious about how to eat it."
He just put the two together, cut them up and ate it. However he ate it with a smile on his face. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my plate.
"You know, I could do a way better job at cooking."
"Really now?" I asked playfully.
He nodded, "Duh."
We're having such a cute time, but I want to know why he was pasted out on my couch and not in my bed. Come on, that screams weird.
"So, what's the plan for today, I called in sick. Ironic, right?" He smiled excited for what my plans were.
"Work, I have to go," I added, "You could come with."
"Sweet! That sounds way more fun than sick people!" Haynes kind of seemed like a kid in a candy shop. It was odd, but adorable. There's definitely something off about him. I don't want to find out the but when we're so deep into the relationship that it would be a dick move to dump him.
"So, why did you sleep on my couch?" I asked out of the blue for him at least. That questioned would've bugged me all day.
"Thought I would be a gentleman." He shrugged.
"But we already slept together and we've been going on so many dates, it wouldn't have been weird." I pointed out.
"But neither of us remember the night before and I want to go slow. If that's okay with you."
I nodded, "Of course it is. Old me would've said Hell no, but I really like you."
He got a huge smile on his first, "Awesome! I'll go get change and I'll be ready."
I smiled and walked to my guest room to get changed. I decided to go to my room and get change. I should do that obviously, can't go to work in my pjs. Or maybe I could. I don't think anyone would care. But I do like looking like I kind of have my life together. At least to be semi-professional. I put on dark blue ripped skinny jeans, a white tank top, multi color Geo print cardigan, a green necklace and Stitch slip ons, with a light pink lipstick. I'm ready for work, lets hope Haynes is. It's like take your child to work day... Or in this case, take your kind of sort of boyfriend to work day. Maybe take your I'm not sure what this is to work day? I have so many titles for this. Before I distract myself even more, I should leave my room. I did just that I walked into the living, where Haynes was waiting. He was wearing dark grey jeans, a shirt with a pancake design on it, a multi color cardigan, that same watch and red converse. He got off my couch and walked up to me with a big smile on his face.
"Hey, we're both wearing cardigans. You know what that means?" He questioned.
I looked at him confused. What does that mean? Is he going to say that we make a cute couple? Or what?
"We both have great fashion sense." He winked and opened the door for me.
I smiled and rolled my eyes. I walked out the door and we left for my work. I told him that the studio is close enough to walk. He was pretty happy about that, he needs more gas in his car, anyways. When we got to the studio, we walked in, he held the door for me saying, "ladies first." Such a gentleman. I saw Donnie, wearing a black jacket, different from his leather one, black pants, black boots and a white Rolling Stones t-shirt. His outfit really looked different than usual. He was in the studio already, getting ready. He's always here so early. But if he's not, who will? Definitely not me.
"Donnie, I'm here!" I said walking into the studio with Haynes.
He looked at me, then Haynes and gave a confused look, "Aren't you the doctor?"
Haynes nodded, "Yup! In the flesh. Get it? Cause I'm a doctor and flesh." He made a bad joke, but that's okay. I'll forgive him.
"I'm just glad you're not a comedian." He added. Not really making a joke, but Haynes laughed thinking it was anyways.
"So, what's a normal Saturday for the studio?" Haynes questioned playing around with the buttons in the studio.
"Usually cleaning, getting ready for tomorrow. Boring stuff." I added.
Donnie pulled Haynes off the buttons, "Oh and before I forget, your dad is coming. Should be here in five minutes."
My dad? Damn it. I honestly didn't want my own dad to meet Haynes until later in our relationship. Now I'm nervous, I looked over at Haynes who didn't have the slightest bit of emotion except happiness and stupid smile on his face. Yeah, my dad is going to be super cool about it, but still. Can't Haynes show any sign of being nervous?
"Your dad? Awesome! Can't wait to meet him!" Haynes jumped with joyness.
I rubbed my hands on my face, starting to get stressed out. Haynes and I don't even know what we are. We're dating, but we're not. It's weird and confusing. I have to pull Haynes aside and figure this out before my dad gets here. But before I could even move, my dad called in. He walked into the studio with a big smile.
"Eliza!" He seemed cheerier than usual, "Donnie!" He hugged the both of us and turned to Haynes, "Stranger!" He hugged him too.
"Actually, Richard, this is Eliza's friend, Haynes." Donnie wanted to see how this will play out.
I'm just waiting to explain or figure out how I will explain. Do I say it's complicated or lie or what? I'm freaking out on the inside. Haynes stood next to me with that same stupid smile. I wonder if he's freaking out on the inside.
My dad looked at Haynes, trying to figure out what kind of friend he just was. See, even my dad doesn't know, "What's your business?"
"Doctor," He was still smiling, then realized what business meant, "Oh with your daughter! Yeah! We're dating!"
He said it so causally, like it was completely normal. My dad and I just looked at him and said what at the first time. Then my dad looked at me, confused.
"I mean, yeah of course we are." I added.
"Well, I'm so happy for the two of you!" My dad smiled, "So, a doctor? That must be a really nice job."
Haynes shrugged, "Eh, it has its ups and downs."
"How old are you?"
That is a good question. I never figured out Haynes' age, just assumed he was around my age. Maybe he isn't. I honestly don't care about age as long as we both care enough about each other. But now I'm curious. What if he's like 50? I mean, if he were, he's looking good for his age.
"I'm 27." He smiled.
All the 27 year olds I met were complete jerks and know-it-alls. Mature and respected guys. Haynes may be respect but definitely isn't mature. My dad just smiled, didn't say anything else about it. It didn't seem weird, so I shrugged it off. My dad wanted to talk to Donnie about some stuff, leaving Haynes and I alone. Which was perfect for me. Not so sure him. We'll have to see how this goes.
"Dating? Are we really?" I questioned.
He shrugged, "I know we never talked about it, but I want to date you."
I looked at him, thinking and thinking... And thinking. Oh and more thinking. He looked at me, waiting for an answer. I should probably say something.
"I want to date you too. Maybe talk about this later tonight?" I suggested.
He nodded, "With a nice bottle of wine."
"So, 27, that would explain your ability to with stand wine." I smiled a little.
"Yup."
Eventually my dad and Donnie walked back in. Both had smiles on their face. I has a concerned and confused look, while Haynes still had that stupid smile. He's just as confused as me, but likes to smile especially when other people are smiling. My dad step forward.
"I would to take the both of you out to dinner tonight. I could get to know Haynes and Eliza you could get to know my girlfriend."
I smiled. I knew it! I knew he had a girlfriend! See? I'm a genius, maybe I shouldn't have dropped out of University. Then again, none of my professors knew me cause I never showed up. So, it was better that I dropped out. I love how I have to keep on reminding myself.
I snapped myself out of my thought and smiled at my dad, "Of course, that sounds perfect. Haynes and I can't wait." Ugh. Why did I sound so formal? It sounded gross.
"Great! We'll meet at Trou Noir around 8?" He suggested.
I nodded, "You wouldn't mind if Haynes and I headed home to get ready?"
He shook his head, "Go ahead, see you tonight."
Haynes and I left. When we got to my apartment, I realized that he didn't have anything to wear.
"I should probably head back to my place, get ready. I'll come back here around 6 and we can talk for a bit." He said.
"Why don't I grab my stuff and go with you? We can talk in the car."
"Uh, I think you should get ready here and I'll come back when I'm done." He replied looking at me with his big blue eyes.
I looked confused, but just agreed to it. I figured I could bring it up later while we're talking. That was really weird that he didn't want me to go back to his place, right? He also seemed to be avoiding something.
