The next morning, I called Donnie, telling him I still wasn't feeling too well. Obviously a lie, he seemed pretty down about it, but was trying to hide it. That's weird, awe, maybe there's a big top celebrity going in today. But I guess my love life is more important? Or not breaking promises? I don't like to break promises, lets go with the second one. I quickly got changed into a pink and orange ombre tank and then realized I needed to wear a bra with it. I have small enough boobs to get away with not wearing a bra under tank tops, but this one is more loose. So, I took that off and put on a v strap black lace bra, then the tank, then ripped fringe black denim shorts, salmon color low top Toms flats, a moon necklace, some peach rose bracelets and a watermelon clutch. Okay, I know that doesn't really go with the outfit, but Chloe got it for me for my birthday and I love it. Also, it's a Saturday, Lewis isn't working and that means they go shopping. I assume that's what Haynes and I are doing that, so if I don't have at least one thing that she bought me, I'll never hear the end of it. I ate a muffin for breakfast, brushed my teeth afterwards and sat in my living room, watching crappy sitcoms, waiting for Haynes. Suddenly there was a knock at my door, I grabbed my clutch, put it around my shoulder and answered the door. Only to see that no one was there, confused I went to shut the door, then Haynes popped out. I jumped and almost punched him.
"Woah, woah! Sorry! I thought I was being cute, jeez, I am bad at this." He rubbed the back of his neck and laughed a little under his breathe.
I smiled, "You don't look like you would be a doctor."
He smiled and nodded, "Thanks, I always go for that on my day off." Haynes was wearing purple skinny jeans, a white t-shirt that said, "Artists never sleep," that same watch from the dinner before and a San Francisco Giants snap back.
"So, you do realize we're going to die if you wear that hat out in LA." I pointed out.
"You're not a baseball fan? Or worse, you're a Dogers fan?" He looked like he was about to have a panic attack.
"Oh god no! I love the Giants, but I just don't want to die today."
"Have you ever seen people react to others wearing merch like this?" He questioned.
I shook my head.
"You're in for a ride, trust me."
I guess I have to trust him, plus I can't force him not to wear a hat. That's so stupid. I'm not a child anymore, I just smiled and walked out with him. He wanted to get some brunch first. Brunch? Isn't that more of a couple thing to do? Then again, we went on a few dates already and every time he sees me in public, he always seem so happy and does things that I couple would do. So, we went to a place that is known for their brunch and got a seat for two. We ordered and just talked. Really about stupid random stuff. Cat or dog person? Cat definitely. He also said cat. Pancakes or waffles? Pancakes, he said pancakes and waffles. The ultimate breakfast. Creatively or logic? Creatively, he said the same. That logic was so boring. Which was funny to hear from a doctor.
"So, ever thought about naming your future kids? That is if you want some." He questioned.
"Um, I really like the name Mallory for a girl and Sterling for a guy." I replied, "One of their middle names have to be Otis."
He smiled, "Interesting names. I always thought about Danielle for a girl and Justin for a guy. I like Otis though."
"Those names are none interesting." I added.
"Well, you see, if either of them know they're not the gender they were born into, Danielle could be Dan and Justin could be Justine." He pointed out.
Huh, I never thought of it like that. Weird, but cool. I looked at him, "What if they're certain about being their gender and would never want to change?" I questioned.
"Then, they'll go by their middle names, Mallory and Sterling Otis."
I smiled and he smiled back. He felt right, everything that we were doing, just felt right. Even though we've been talking for quite a while, it still feels I don't know any personal details about him. Maybe I should start with his name, I mean we were just talking about weird names.
"So, Haynes Jockey? I don't get it, that's such an abnormal name and your dad named you that?"
He shook his head, "I changed my name when I turned 18, I wanted to get back at my dad and I was going though an anarchy thing. My original name was Harley Jacobs. Calling Doctor Jacobs, defiantly more professional. But I just don't care. I love my name, Haynes Jockey. Who else has that name?"
"How'd your dad react?"
"It was awesome. My legally changed name came in the mail, conforming it, all my documents were changed. I was now Haynes Jockey. My dad refused to call me that. He would continue to call me Harley and I would just ignore him, until he was force to say my real name." Haynes laughed.
I laughed with him. That's a pretty cool and funny story. After brunch, we walked around LA. People were ten times ruder to us because of Haynes hat. It was actually really fun, showing pride and people getting angry over it. We went to one of my favorite thrift shops and Haynes seemed to be really into it. He had an idea, what if we had $20 to spend on each other in this store. It would be a way to get to know each other and get cool stuff out of it. This shop not only had clothes, but other stuff too. Kind of like a Goodwill, but more high end, still cheap though. Oh and we weren't allowed to show each other what we got until the very end. As we were looking around, I bumped into Gracie, I knew one of the Lewis' would be here, but I wasn't expecting all. Around the corner I saw Chloe and Lewis. I smiled at them and they walked up to me. We had our greetings, Chloe was so happy I was using the clutch she got me. Gracie was wearing mid waist ripped denim shorts, a skeleton print white tank top, a black lace up bra that was easily shown through the tank top, old dirt tan low top converse, a black bracelet with a red eye peeking out of it, yellow nail polish and a patched up mini backpack. Chloe was wearing, a cat t-shirt that she made to be off the should, blue ripped jean shorts, brown lace up combat boots, a green leaves bracelet, pale yellow nail polish, a pink lipstick that was kind of light and kind of dark and she had a black cat clutch that she wore on her shoulder. Lewis was wearing bright red skinny jeans, a floral tank top, black Vans, a silver dinosaur necklace and a ring with a blue eyeball popping out of it. They all looked different and I wouldn't expect anything else.
"What are you doing here? You should've totally called us!" Chloe pointed out.
"I'm on a date. We're doing this thing where we can only spend $20 on each other, but can't see what we got until the very end." I replied.
"Wait, cute doctor, one night stand?" She questioned.
I nodded, "Yup. Would you mind if I got back to work?"
"Go for it, can't wait for the Christmas cards!"Chloe teased me.
I said goodbye to them, I did see them go across the street to the coffee shop, they're totally spying on me and my date. Holy Hell. My friends everyone. I guess it's sweet though, I mean who else would do this? No one normal, that's who. Haynes and I finished, we went to the coffee shop across the street, where the three were watching us like hawks. It was pretty funny.
"You first." Haynes looked at me.
I nodded and showed him what I got. A red bead bracelet, tie dye paisley bandanna, white formal gloves, a print with a dog on it that says French, a pink paper lantern and a bell that says ring for a kiss.
"I love it, especially the pink lantern." He winked.
I smiled and we both laugh, "You're turn."
He had so much guilt in his eyes, "I spent $22.04, I just couldn't resist."
I giggled, "It's okay, all that matters is that I won, I spent $19.65." I bragged.
He smiled and showed me what he got. 4 pack of hair ties. I just looked at him, "What? Every girl needs hair ties." He did have a point, then showed me the rest of the stuff. An orange lantern, a magnet that says, "Please open the fridge door carefully my penguin is sleeping," which is fricking adorable, really colorful earrings and a red and black lace dress that just screamed sexy.
"What put me over was the magnet." He added.
"You win for finding to coolest stuff." I smiled.
He just stared into my eyes, it was romantic. I could feel a kiss coming on and Chloe, Lewis and Gracie staring at us. I heard a bell rang and looked down, it was Haynes, who rung the the "ring for a kiss" bell. I smiled and we kissed. All we heard were the three saying awe. We both looked at them, I rolled my eyes, Haynes was confused and the three acted like they weren't staring.
"Those are my friends. I bumped into them at the shop and they've been spying ever since." I said.
He smirked, "Lets give them something to smile about."
I smiled, sweet super PDA in public, awesome make out session. I can't wait. But it wasn't that. It was him being a gentleman. Maybe he wanted to earn the respect of my friends, that's actually better than a make out session. Haynes and I left. My phone was being blown up by the three, asking if we were making out, I said no, he was just being really sweet and gentleman like. My phone continued to blow up with awes. I rolled my eyes and put it away. We got back to my place and just sat in the living room. There was a show on, but we were too busy talking.
"Hey, did you want to stay the night?" I asked.
He smiled, "I would like that, I have clothes in my car, I'll get those later."
I looked at him curious. I mean I have clothes in my car, but that's only because sometimes you gotta have back up for when you get too drunk.
"I always keep a pair of pjs and extra clothes with me, just in case something happens. You'd be surprise." He replied.
I shrugged.
"Also, I might get called into the hospital, tomorrow, so just a warning."
"Okay," I got up and pour us both a class of red wine, "This is all I have."
"It's my favorite."
We talked for hours on end and didn't even realize what time it was, 3 in the morning. But we didn't feel tired. So, we pulled an all nighter, just talking. Still nothing super personal, but fun stuff. It feels like there's a million and more words in the world and tonight we used all of them. I know I said I didn't want a commitment, but if it's anything like this, I don't mind it at all. I don't even check other guys out and he doesn't seem to care for other girls. I know we'll have to be having the are we or are we not dating talk, but right now it's too sweet for that. Lets pretend that talk doesn't exist, at least for now.
