It has been one day since the funeral. I don't know what I'm feeling. I'm not sad or angry or happy, but I feel something. I got out of bed and noticed that Haynes wasn't there. He's either cooking or he's at work. So, I changed into maroon skinny jeans, a black bralet, a white red and black stripe cardigan and black converse. I grabbed my phone and went into the kitchen. Haynes wasn't there, but there were pancakes and an envelope on the table. I opened the envelope as a I started to eat. There was a note inside that said he left for work early, but he got me something. I pulled out a silver heart necklace from the envelope and smiled. I put it on.

As I was eating, I got a text. It was from Gracie. She asked me to take her to school today. I said okay and left. I got to her apartment and knocked on the door. Gracie answered, she was wearing red leather jeggings, a black sugar skull tank top, grey converse and a rose gold safety pin earring on her top left ear. She grabbed her backpack and we left.

"Why am I taking you to school?" I asked.

"Lewis, Chloe and Haynes are at work and I didn't want to walk." She shrugged.

"Wait, Haynes takes you to school?"

She nodded, "sometimes he does."

"Sometimes? Wait, why do I not know about this?"

"I don't know, probably because you have your own drama."

"What does that mean?"

"Sometimes we talk about you and your job and you don't always talk about your job. But there's always something going on."

"Not always."

"Lately there has been and Haynes is noticing."

"Probably because my dad just died and funeral just happened. But that's just me." Yeah, I was offended by this. I can't believe he's doing this to me.

She shook her head, "I didn't tell him about the kiss. I just want you to know that he suspects something."

We got to the high school and we weren't done with the conversation. I tried to have her stay a little longer but she said that she didn't want to be late. So, I walked to the door with her.

"What does he think is going on?" I asked.

"Look, I gotta go. Okay?" She started to walk away.

"I'll pick you up then!" I shouted as she was leaving.

"Haynes is picking me up."

Before I could say anything else she was long gone. I might have to call and tell Haynes not to pick her up. Or I could actually talk to him, that. Yeah, I should probably do that. Hopefully he doesn't think anything bad. I mean it was only a kiss. Plus, I pushed him away and obviously it meant nothing. I arrived at work and took a few seconds to myself. I had to toughen myself up for today. I was actually going to talk to Donnie about it all. I got out of my car and walked in. Donnie wasn't in his office, hopefully he did show up today. I walked into the recording studio. Sabrina was sitting there. She smiled when she saw me. She was wearing a short yellow dress with ruffles at the end of the dress and sleeves, black leggings, black ankle boots and a black choker with a silver bow. I hugged her.

"Wow, you look horrible." She pointed out.

I nodded, "thinking about making a coffee run, you want anything?"

"Donnie is already making one."

"Of course he is. I guess anything to avoid me." I rolled my eyes.

"He actually does want to talk to you. After he gets the coffees he wanted me to record some stuff, while I'm doing that you two were going to talk in his office. That was his plan."

"I have every right to be scared and nervous, right?"

She nodded and hugged me again. This hug was tight and long. I didn't want it to end. It felt so safe. We sat and talk for a little bit while I eagerly waited for Donnie to get back. We just talked about anything. Mostly her school life. Made me think about how this drama is like high school all over again. I am not excited for any of it. Telling Haynes, talking to Donnie, how it will all end. I love Haynes so much and I never thought I would say that. I use to be called commitment issues Eliza. Relationships were not my forte. Eventually Donnie came back. He was wearing dark blue jeans with a grey baseball shirt, a black watch and black boots. Sabrina started to record and I followed Donnie into his office. We just looked at each other awkwardly for a bit.

"We have to talk about this, don't we?" He finally said something.

I nodded slowly.

"I don't know why I kissed you. The only thing that comes to mind is that I was in bad relationship and you made it seem so much simpler."

"I just can't have it be awkward anymore. That's all I'm asking for."

"You gonna tell your boyfriend?"

"I have to."

"You don't have t-"

"Don't you dare finish that. Because I do. I really really like Haynes and I don't want a stupid kiss to ruin it. A stupid kiss that meant nothing might I add."

He nodded.

"Unless... Did it mean som-"

"No." He interrupted me.

"Good then, we're on the same page. It won't be awkward anymore?"

"Nope, we're good." He added.

We finished and went back into the other room. It wasn't a super long talk, just a lot of awkward silences. Sabrina wasn't done, but she finished and then wanted to talk to Donnie. So, when she was done, she talked him. I was just sitting, texting Haynes. He was on his lunch break and I was just asking him about his day so far. He said it was good. And he asked about my, I just said it was good, it was just easier to say that. Sabrina walked back in and sat next to me.

"Where's Donnie?" I asked.

"I told him to take the rest of the day off."

I looked around the room confused, then I looked at her, "you know that's not your job, right?"

She nodded, "both of you need one."

"But you can't have one."

"Fine, I'll record some more. But I'm telling you my manager would be fine with me skipping."

"Your manager pays me for every hour you're here." I pointed out, "and rent is pretty expensive in LA."

"Okay, okay, I'm getting in the booth."

Sabrina recorded some new tracks until it was time to leave. I drove home and saw Haynes eating cereal and watching a lifetime movie. He was wearing black pants with a blue button down shirt, black Vans and a silver and black dog tag. I sat down with him and he kissed me.

"How was the rest of your day?" I asked.

"Pretty bad, actually I kind of lied. My whole was pretty bad." He replied.

I smiled a little, "awe, now I don't feel bad about lying, thanks babe."

"You want me to go first?"

I nodded.

"Well, Edwin came into my work today. He took me out to lunch and was just giving me a hard time about some personal stuff."

"What kind of personal stuff?" I asked.

"Stuff I'm not ready to tell you yet." He added.

I just rested my shoulder on him.

"Also, Gracie told me to talk to you. You had something you wanna to tell me?"

"Yup and this is actually why my day was so bad. I felt bad thinking about it all day. I mean I talked to Donnie about it, but it didn't help how I felt."

"Wait, why are you telling him stuff before me?" He questioned.

"Because it kind of sort of involved him."

"You wanna kind of sort of tell me about it or what?"

Why is this so hard to say? That kiss meant nothing. "Donnie kissed me."

Haynes looked at me, thinking it was a joke. And when he realized it wasn't. He got upset, but not with me, with Donnie. I guess that makes sense.

"I want you to know, it meant nothing to either of us. I still care and love you more than I could ever love someone like him." I pointed.

"Hold on, lets rewind a little." He seemed less angry, that was such a quick turn around.

I just looked at him, curious.

"You love me?" He asked.

I smiled a little and nodded, "Yeah."

He kissed me passionately, "happy I wasn't the first one to say it this time."

"You just gonna leave me hanging?"

"I love you too." He smiled and kissed me again.

"So, you're cool with all of it?" I asked.

He shook his head, "God no, I wanna kick that guy's ass."

"Oh please don't." I replied.
