​They were going to meet in the entrance of the amusement park.
       Kara had texted Lucas saying they were on their way and Lucas has texted her back saying "Not there yet. Problems with Olivia wait 4 me."
       Kara also texted Adrianna saying she was on her way and that Jorge was coming.
       Adrianna didn't texted back.
       ​When Kara and Adam got to the entrance of the amusement park they saw Adrianna and Jorge there.
       Adrianna's eyes met Kara's, and she gave her an I-am-going-to-kill-you look and Kara just gave her a little smile.
       ​"Hey." Kara says to Adrianna and Jorge.
       ​"Hi." Jorge says to Kara and then he says to Adam "Happy birthday man."
       ​"Thanks." Adam says.
       ​"How long have you been waiting?" Kara asks.
​       "We arrived a few minutes ago." Jorge says. Kara raises her eyes when she heard "we." and she looks at Adrianna with an I-told-you-he-liked-you look and asks Adrianna "Did you two came together?" Adrianna shakes her head "No, but we arrived at the same time." she explains.
​       "Huh." Kara says with an I-don't-believe-it tone.
       Adrianna shakes her head again and changes the subject asking "Where are Lucas and Olivia anyway?"
       ​"Lucas texted me, he has some problems with Olivia."
       ​Adrianna frowns and asks "What problems?"
       ​"I don't know but is something serious." Kara says leaving out the part that when he called her yesterday he also had problems with Olivia.
       ​"Weird. Do you think they will break-up?"
​"I don't know. Maybe."
       ​"That's a shame." Jorge says. They were surprised to hear that from Jorge so Adrianna says "I thought you didn't like them together as a couple."
​       "It's not that I don't like them. It's that they get cheesy-romantic together, and it makes me want to throw up, but still Lucas likes her."
       ​"I know they seemed happy at the lake the last time I saw them." Kara says, and they nodded in agreement.
       "I hope it doesn't ends up like with Marley." Adrianna says with a worried expression.
       ​"Marley?" Adam asks confuse.
       ​"She was his last girlfriend and their break-up was horrible." Kara explains.
       ​"Why? What happened?"
       ​"She cheated on him... a lot of times. We knew and tried to warn him, but he didn't listen. He invited her to his sister's wedding, and he found her in the bathroom with his brother." Jorge explains to him.
       ​"Wow, that's... wow."
       ​"I know he was devastated for months." Kara says sad.
       ​"I can imagine."
       ​"Talking about the king of Rome-." Adrianna says and they turn around to see Lucas walking alone "Hey you."
       ​"Hi... so do we enter?" Lucas says trying to sound exited but everyone, even Adam, notices he is sad and mad.
       ​"Um... let's buy the tickets." Jorge says and he and Adrianna walk away.
       Kara turns her head to Adam and whispers to him low enough so Lucas doesn't hear her "Can you go with them? I need to talk to Lucas." Adam nods and kisses Kara on her forehead "Yeah." he says and walks away with Jorge and Adrianna.
       ​She turns her head to Lucas who is now seeing the floor lost in his own world and she shakes her hands in front of his face and says "So, hey... what happened?" He looks up at Kara and asks confuse "What happened with what?"
       ​"Olivia."
       ​"I don't know." he says frustrated.
       ​"Are you fighting?"
       ​"Sort off."
       ​"Why?" He takes a deep breath and then says "Because she is acting weird. She's drinking, and that's not like her. Yesterday when I called you we were at a party and she disappeared and I found her upstairs in the bathroom cover in vomit."
       ​"Gross."
       ​"I know."
       ​"Is she having like family problems or something like that?" He shrugs and says "I don't know. That's the problem. She doesn't talks about it. Every time I ask her what's wrong she changes the subject and gets drunk and I'm getting tired of it."
       ​"Did you break-up with her?" she asks concern.
       ​"No, I really love her and I want to help her. I don't know how."
       ​"You need to give her some space. Olivia is smart she'll see that what she's doing is not the answer and she'll come to you and talk about whatever is happening to her."
       ​"That's what I think, but I don't want her to get hurt." he says frustrated.
​       "Let her alone for a day or two and then go to her house and talk to her." he nods and Kara adds "But talk to her, don't scream at her. You sometimes lose your temper."
       ​"Yeah you are right, thanks." he says trying to pull out a smile.
       ​"You don't have to thank me, that's why I'm here for." she shoves him in the arm and he lets out a small laugh.
       ​He looks back at Adam who's looking at Kara and then he looks at Kara who is looking at Adam. He shoves her in the arm and says "So... you and Adam huh?" She turns his head to see Lucas and smiles.
       "Yeah, it's crazy right? I never saw myself with someone else other than Austin but... well, I like Adam."
       ​"I can see that and he likes you too." she blushes and smiles because it's true he likes her.
       "Has Mike and Jenna met him already?" Lucas asks knowing how her brother and sister were about this specific subject.
       ​"Well, sort of. It's kind of a long story... but you know Mike, he isn't thrill I've a boyfriend. Jenna is fine with it. But anyway, they'll get to know him better at my mother's party on Wednesday."
       ​"Oh right the annual I'm-richer-than-you party." That's how her friends called her mother's party.
       ​"Yeah it will be so fun!" she says sarcastically and they both laugh.
       ​"Hey guys are you coming?" they hear Jorge screaming and they both nod and go toward them.
       ​They enter to the amusement park and like every year, there are lots of kids and parents chasing them. You can hear the sounds of every different attraction. You can hear screams from kids and the people in the roller coasters. You can hear all kinds of different conversations everywhere.
       ​"We should go to the roller coaster first." Adrianna says and they nod and walk until they were in the line for the roller coaster.
       ​They were talking about what happened in Jennifer's party yesterday. But Adam was awfully quite. He's just looking at the floor like he's lost in another world.
​       "Is everything okay?" Kara asks him.
       ​He took two seconds to nod and say "Yeah."
       Kara didn't believe him so he holds her hand and says "Everything's perfect."
       She still wasn't convince that he was okay, but after what happened before she knows that is normal for him to be kinda quite.
       'He's just processing what happened earlier. It is a lot of information to take in. I shouldn't be worry about him' she thinks, but she was worry about him.

​       They got up in every attraction and played every game on the amusement park. Adrianna won a small stuffed whale and two stuffed pink donuts. She is good at the amusement park games.
       And after that they were hungry so they ate hot dogs and then Kara and Adrianna ate cotton-candy. They walk around the park for a while just talking and laughing.
​       It was eight-thirty-seven when they decided that they were tired but still they didn't want to leave yet, so they sat up in the picnic area where they were many families and couples around them.
​       They are sitting near each other, but Lucas, Jorge and Adrianna were discussing about a new fiction movie that was released a few weeks ago.
       Kara hasn't seen it because she has been all summer on her room and Adam saw the movie but he didn't like it, so they were in silence listening the three of them discuss.
       ​"I still think the book was better." Adrianna says.
       ​"What? No. The book was boring, and it didn't explain well the rooms or how Angelica found his father's house." Jorge says.
       ​"Whatever." Adrianna says rolling her eyes.
​       Kara looks at Adam and he is playing with the grass. This is the third time today she has seen him lost in his own world, he has been acting weird all day. She thinks that is because of his father. She has asked him if something was wrong but he keeps saying that everything was perfect. She knows it's not true, and it hurts her he can't be honest with her.
       ​She grabs his hand, and he looks at her and whispering she asks "Are you okay?"
       ​"Yes, I'm fine." he says again lying.
​       "Why don't you stop lying and tell me what's going on? Is it because of your father? Are you worried about him?"
       He shakes his head and says "I'm not worried about him."
       ​"Then what is it? And stop lying."
       ​"I was just-." he says, but he looks at everyone else and even though they weren't listening to what he was saying. He doesn't wants to talk about it in front of them so he shakes his head again. Kara stands up and indicates Adam to do the same and says "We are walking."
       They walk for a minute or two and then when they weren't many people around Kara stops walking and put herself in front of Adam and asks "You were what?"
       ​"Okay so I left a detail behind when I told you about the day my mother died." he confesses.
       ​"Go on." He takes a deep breath and says in a low voice almost whispering "She died today a year ago."
       ​"On your birthday?" Kara asks knowing it was a stupid question, but she still couldn't believe it.
       ​"Yeah, I was trying to convince her to let me go to this party that my best friend had planned for me. But she said no because my grandmother was coming to visit me and I hadn't seen her in two years."
       ​"Oh, Adam." she says feeling bad for him.
       ​"We were home early because she was preparing me a special birthday dinner because she felt bad I couldn't go to the party... if I would have-." before he could blame himself again Kara interrupts him and says "Stop it. Adam it's not your fault. You've to get it."
​       "I know, but I don't know. If will have acted differently then we wouldn't have been home earlier."
       ​"It wasn't your fault." she assures him but he ignores her comment and says "You know what the worst thing was?"
       ​She shrugs and shakes her head.
       ​"Not being able to say good bye and tell her the million things I wanted too. My lasts words to her were "Just go away. I don't want to see you." I didn't tell her I love her. I didn't tell her how thankful I am for everything she had done for me. I didn't get a good bye. That's what hurts the most."
       ​She takes both of his hands and says "I know. God I know! But she knew that, you know that? It doesn't matter what your last words were to her that wouldn't have change what happened next. There is nothing you could've done differently that would make things change." she says trying to convince him he didn't had to feel guilty but she could see in his eyes he was upset so she adds "But yes it sucks, my lasts words to Austin were "I'll talk to you tomorrow, I'm busy." I've regret that for a long time. His death took me off ward you know? I mean, yes, he had cancer. But he was better on those days or well he sounded better."
       ​"You didn't visit him?" he asks confuse.
       ​"When he was here, yes, all the time, but his mother took him to Spain because of the doctors and the medicine and everything. So we talked on the phone every day. And he sounded better, he didn't sound so tired and he sounded happier. He was being like Austin again. And one afternoon I got a call from his mother and I knew before answering that he was dead."
       ​"That's... I don't even know what to tell you."
​       "Yeah, I know. I didn't get to say good bye either. Not face-to-face nor on the phone nor on a funeral. Since he died in Spain her mother didn't wanted to do a funeral. She didn't feel like dragging everyone to Spain although I wanted. She insisted on not to do one. I know how it feels not to a have a good bye with someone you loved, but believe me when I say that your mother knew how much you cared about her."
​       "Austin knew that too." he assures her and she gives him a genuine smile "I know." she says.
       ​They were in silence for a moment, but Adam says "Still I sometime feel like I need to say good bye."
       ​"You can do it."
       ​"How?"
       ​"C'mon." she says grabbing his arm and walking him toward were their friends were.
​       When they reach there, Kara asks "Does anyone have a piece of paper and two pens?"
       ​"Yes." Adrianna says looking in her handbag.
       She founds her small notebook and two pens and hands it to Kara.
       ​"Why do you need that?" Lucas asks confuse.
       ​"We're saying good bye." Kara answers him but she was looking at Adam.
       ​"To us? Are you going to write me a card? That's sweet." Jorge says sarcastically.
​       She laughs and rolls her eyes "No you moron, give me your lighter." she tells Jorge and he hands his lighter to Kara.
​       "Can you please explain us what in hell are you going to do." Lucas asks still confuse.
​       "I told you. We're saying good bye." she says and grabs Adam's hand and walks away when she hears Adrianna shouting "Kara that doesn't makes any sense." She turns her head back and shouts "Yes it does. We'll be right back."
       ​They walk until there was no one near them. She opens the notebook in the middle and rips off two white papers "So, grab this paper-." she hands Adam a white paper and a pen "and write everything you want your mom to know and I'll write here what I want Austin to know. This will be our good bye." he smiles at her and they sit down in the floor and start to write.
       ​After two minutes later they were both finish, neither of them show to other one what they had wrote. Kara burns Adam's paper first, and the ashes went flying with the wind. She does the same thing with her paper and the ashes went flying with the wind too.
       ​They watch how the ashes went flying, and they stood a few minutes looking at the dark-blue sky.
       ​"Thanks, for everything." Adam says putting his arm around her waist.
       ​"You don't have to thank me for anything."
       ​"Yes, I do. No one has ever done something like this for me. You've made me happier since the day I saw you. You've giving me back what I lost when my mother died."
       ​"And what's that?" she asks curious looking at his incredible green eyes.
       ​"A reason to smile, a reason to be better, a reason to continue no matter what happen."
       ​"You've giving me back that too. My sister told me that if I wanted to move on I had to find a motive and you're my motive." she says smiling and they kiss.
       ​She never imagined that she will found someone else that will make her happy again. But she found Adam and even if right now she can't admit it she knows that she never felt this way about Austin. She doesn't knows what's different about Adam that makes her feel like this... makes her feel so secure, makes her feel special. It's scary that she feels like this with Adam someone she recently met and she didn't felt like this with Austin someone she had known all her life.
       Destiny is a tricky thing and life too. They never played against you and Kara got that know. Because as cliché as it sounds, everything happens for a reason, there is always an ulterior motive that explains why things happens. And now Kara is thinking that maybe destiny put Austin in her life to make her who she is now, but it also took him away of her life so she could meet Adam, and as selfish as it sounds, it feels kinda good to think that Austin helped to put Adam on her life.
​       Destiny and life are always a tricky thing. Sometimes we love it and other time we hated it. But they are things we can't control, that no one can control. And that's the beauty of it.
​
       They walk toward their friends and Kara's phone rings, and she grabs it and sees its Jenna calling so she answers it and says "Hey."
       "Oh hi." Jenna says and then shouts at someone "She answered!!"
       "What's wrong?" Kara asks concern.
       ​"Nothing, mom is asking for you." She frowns and asks "Mom? Why?"
       She can't think of a reason why her mother would ask about her. Her mother knew where she was. No because Kara told her where she was going, but she knew either Mike or Jenna would tell her.
       ​"She is worry because it's almost one." Jenna explains.
       ​"It is?" she says trying to look at the hour on her watch but it was too dark to see "Yeah, are you still in the amusement park?"
       ​"Yep."
       ​"Wait, hold on a second." Jenna says to Kara and then Kara hears her saying to someone else, that she guesses now it is her mother, "No, she's still there." Short pause "With her friends." Long pause "I'll tell her."
       "Are you still there?" Jenna asks Kara.
       ​"Ohm."
       ​"Mom says you should come."
       ​"Why?"
​       "She says it's late and tomorrow we've to shop for dresses in the morning."
       ​"Is she serious?"
       ​"You know how she gets when she has to plan a party." Her mother gets stress up when she has a party. She freaks out for everything and she becomes this control-freak that was nervous that something would go wrong twenty-four-seven.
       "Just come home please." Jenna says begging and just because she knows that if she says "no." her mother would take it up on Jenna she agrees and says "Alright, I'll." she hangs up the phone and Adam asks "What happened?"
       ​"My mother wants me to go home." she says rolling her eyes.
       ​"Do you have to go now?" he puts both of her hands around her back.
       ​"Yes." she kisses him and then says "Tomorrow we've to shop for a dress and she gets stress and maniac about it."
       ​"I'll take you."
       ​"No, that's fine. I've my car here. I'll go."
       ​"Then I'll walk you to your car."
       ​"You don't have to."
       ​"I want to." he insists and because she knows that he's stubborn she says "Fine."
       ​They walk and Adam asks "So, you're shopping for dresses?"
​       "Oh and shoes, it will be so fun." she says sarcastically "And on Tuesday is hair and nails day, I can't wait!!" she says sarcastically again and rolls her eyes.
       ​Adam laughs and says "What is so bad about that? I thought girls loved those kinds of stuffs."
​       "Well, I don't love it. I like it, is normal I think. But when it's with my mom or my sister I kind of hate it."
​       "Why?"
       ​"Because they always have this idea of what I should wear that differs totally from what I want to wear so we always end up in a discussion where I end up giving up because is exhausting to fight with them over clothe."
       ​"So what kind of dress should I be expecting?"
       ​"Something girly and ridiculous, maybe pink or with flowers and a headband." she rolls her eyes, and he laughs really hard "Is it so hard to imagine me like that?"
       ​"Kind off, don't take this the bad way... but you are not girly type."
       ​"So what am I?"
       ​"You are you... I don't know. That's what I like about you. That you dress to impress yourself, not like other girls that dress to impress everyone else. You're authentic."
       ​"Ohm... authentic, I like that."
       ​"I'm just saying the truth gorgeous."
       ​"You like calling me like that don't you?" she teases him.
       ​"Yeah, don't you like it?"
       ​"Oh, no I do like it"
       ​They reach to her car and he opens her door, and she enters but before closing the door Adam says "Text me when you get home."
       ​"Sure." she says, and he closes the door. He walks away, and she gets her head out of the window and shouts "See you on Wednesday right?"
       ​He turns around to see Kara and winks "Of course gorgeous." he shouts back.
