​       After dropping Mike in Anna's house and Jenna in a friend's house Kara got to her house and for her surprise there wasn't anyone there. She was tired of all her family drama and she wanted to rest for a little while.
       She went upstairs to her room, and she tried to sleep. But after half-an-hour of trying to fall sleep she gave up. She sits down in the corner of her bed and thinks about Adam. That's what has been keeping her up.
       'He's so reserved with his life and specially about his past. And he opened up to me just yesterday. I... I don't know what he'll think about my mother knowing everything. I like him... a lot. I don't want to lose him because of my mother.
       Maybe I'm overreacting. Maybe he wouldn't get so mad at me... because it's not my fault that my mother is completely crazy. Maybe he'll understand... or maybe he won't... maybe he'll probably realize that my family is insane and that he wants nothing to do with them... I need to call him' She grabs her phone and calls him.
       He answers in the second beep and says "I wasn't expecting you to call so soon, but I'm glad you did."
       ​"Yeah well, I really need to talk to you."
       ​"Is something wrong?" he asks worry, and she knows that that's her entrance to say it.
       'I need to say it. He needs to know' she thinks and takes a deep breath but then she shakes her head 'Nope I can't do this' she thinks and says "No, no everything is great. I was just thinking that since my parents are working and since Mike and Jenna aren't home you'll like to come and watch a movie." she shakes her head frustrated with herself 'I'm such a coward'
       ​"Yeah, when can I go?" he asks exited.
       ​"I was thinking about... now."
       ​"I'll be there in twenty." she hangs up the phone, and she immediately feels guilty.
       ​'Maybe I should tell him... or maybe I can wait. What's wrong with waiting? Today we'll just watch a movie and then tomorrow I'll tell him about my mother.
       But the thing is that right now we're okay. Since last night I like him more and I have a feeling he likes me more too... so why should I ruin it with my mom's drama? I shouldn't do it... but lying to him doesn't feel right.
       Ugh!!!!!! My mother always messes everything up! She couldn't keep her nose in any other person's business?
       NO! She had to look-up for Adam's past and find out about everything he wants no one to know. Thanks a lot mom!!!
       ​Today we will watch a movie.
       I need a movie that takes my mind off my problems... what movie can we see... ohm, okay horror... a good horror movie... maybe Insidious... Nah that one will not take my mind of my problems... think Kara horror movies that made you forget about everything... THE ORPHAN! Of course, that's the perfect movie. Every scene is perfect and scary and creepy and the end is UNBELIVABLE! Yep The Orphan it is.
       ​We'll just watch The Orphan and it we'll get my mind off every problem for a little while. Then I can decide if whether I tell Adam today that my mother knows everything or if I tell him later. But I will tell him sooner or later. It makes none difference when does he knows, the important thing is that I will to tell him. Because he deserves to know... But first a movie'
       ​She stands up from her bed and look at the PJs that she's wearing and she's not presentable with them. So she puts on some jean-shorts and a normal black t-shirt. She wraps her hair into a pony-tail and goes downstairs to make popcorn.
       ​'Just have a normal date with your boyfriend Kara. It can't be that hard right?'
       ​Just when she puts the popcorns in the microwave she hears the door and goes and opens it already with a smile in her face.
       "I bought ice cream and chips." he says with a grin and she gets closer to him and kisses him before saying "Perfect, c'mon in." she lets him in and they walk to the living room. Kara tells him to wait her there, and she goes to the kitchen to look for the popcorns, spoons for the ice cream and water.
       'Just watch the movie Kara. Watch the movie and then decide what you will do. It's not that hard' she thinks while she goes to the kitchen.
       When she returns to the living she sees Adam sitting in the couch and he asks "So what are we going to watch?" She lets out a small nervous laugh and says "That's a surprise!"
       She puts the popcorns and the rest of the things in the table and gives him a malicious smile. She knows that he doesn't likes horror movies but she needs this to take her mind off for just a little while.
       "I'm not getting a good vibe." She burst out into laughter "Don't be silly." she says, but he still doesn't seem convince "It isn't a romantic movie if that's what you're worry about." she reassures him, but he already knew it wasn't romantic because Kara isn't like those kinda girls.
       So he knows that there is one type of movies she loves and he hates "Are we watching a horror movie?" She shrugs and says "Maybe." and she tries to hide her smile but it was impossible.
       "No." he says immediately.
       She puts the DVD on and sits right beside him and says "You're gonna love it and it isn't that scary."
       "What movie is it?"
       "Orphan." his eyes raise and he shakes his head he hasn't seen The Orphan, but he saw the trailer and he knows that it is creepy and scary.
       "Nah-oh, no way... You're crazy." he says serious but Kara laughs "I've watch it a thousand times. You're gonna love it!" she promises him.
       "I prefer watching The Notebook."
       She laughs again and then says "Ha Ha. Yeah, no"
       "I think you're the only girl in the planet that rather watching The Orphan than watching The Notebook." she lets out a small giggle and then she grabs the remote and tells him "I'll be right here. It isn't that scary I promise." he rolls his eyes but he nods. He can't say 'no' to her, it is almost physically impossible. She gives him a grin and presses play without giving him a chance to think about it twice.

       And just when Esther was killing the nun with the hammer, someone knocks the door and Kara presses pause to the movie unsure of who could knock the door.
       "I love whoever is behind that door." Adam says with a shaky tone because of the movie.
Kara laughs and shoves him in the arm "Shut up. And don't you move."
       He nods and says "But if it's Esther, you will never see me again."
       She laughs again but this time harder and standing up she says "Don't be such a baby. That isn't even the scariest part."
       "Remind me again why I am seeing this?" he says on a jockey tone and she laughs again and before walking away she says "I'll be right back."
       She walks toward the door not knowing who it can be. She's hopping it isn't one of her parents 'Maybe it's just Jenna or Mike that came earlier' she thinks.
       When she opens the door she sees the one person she never expected to see again, and she's shock. She wants to say something but her mind isn't processing the information quite well. Her eyes see one thing but her mind knows that it's impossible what her eyes are seeing.
       'I'm dreaming!!!! This has to be a freaking dream!!! Because there is no way that... no... no... no... it can't be possible. Oh. My. God. If I close my eyes hard I will wake up and be in my room'
       She closes her eyes, and she hears Adam's voice asking "Who is it?" but she can't answer him.
       She's just shock 'I've been dreaming about this for a long time, but this can't be happening because I don't believe in miracles and this can happen if it were a miracle... which isn't because it is stupid and lame for me to think that it could happen.
       But I've him in front of me and he is asking me something, God he is talking but I can't hear him. I need to say something. Think Kara! Think. Say something!'
       Finally she finds her voice and asks "How is it possible?"
       She feels an arm around her waist and she turns her head to see Adam behind her.
       "Kara gorgeous, what's-." he says but stops talking when he sees the guy standing outside and he knows him. He saw that face somewhere, he thinks for a minute where have he seen him. 'In a party? No. Restaurant? No' he looks at Kara confuse and she is pale like she has seen a ghost and then it hits him, he has seen him in a photo in Kara's room, but that's impossible.
       "Are you?" He finally asks, and the guy says "Austin and you are?"
       Adam raises his eyes in shock and he asks "What the fuck?"
       He looks at Kara for an explanation but she shrugs and shakes her head and says "So y-you see him too." she says to Adam but her eyes are lock up at Austin.
       "Are you so surprise to see me? You thought I would never forgive you?" Austin asks shock and hurt.
       Kara shakes her head not understanding what he's saying, so she asks "Forgive me? What are you talking about? How aren't you...? I thought you were-." she couldn't finish that.
       'This isn't happening, no it isn't!!!' she thinks trying to wake up from this crazy dream she's having.
       "That I was what?" Austin asks confuse.
       After a few moments of awkward silence she looks down at her shoes unable to see him and says "Dead."
       "WHAT?? Why will you think that?" He asks almost shouting and again Kara's voice is lost again.
       She looks up at Adam and he has the same shock-confuse look on his face so she knows that this isn't a dream. This is real. Austin is here, alive.
       "Because your mother told me." she says almost whispering, but it was loud enough so Austin could hear her.
       "My mother?" He asks, and she nods "Fuck! Kara I'm not."
       "We can see that." Adam says sarcastically and Austin turns his head to him. He forgot that he was there, and he asks furious "Who the fuck are you man?"
       "Her boyfriend."
       "Wait what?" He asks Kara forgetting again about Adam's existence.
       Austin's expression is not only shock, but he is also hurt and Kara hates to see Austin hurt so she turns to Adam and says in a soft voice "Adam, you should go."
       "I'm not going anywhere." he says tugging her closer, and that made Austin's face red from jealousy but Kara could also see he had tears threatening to come out. So she puts her hands on Adam's chest and gets her distance from him and says "Please. I... I need to talk to him, please." she points at Austin and she still cannot believe that she will talk to him.
Adam nods and says "I'll call you later." and gets out of the house.
       Kara stares at Austin for a while still not believing any of this, but she lets him come in. And since Austin knows Kara's house so well he makes his way to the living room and sees the TV and says "The Orphan huh? You see that movie when you're trying to forget about something. What's wrong?"
       'Yep it's Austin. The only person who knew that, was him... or is him.' she shakes away her thoughts and looks at him and then she hugs him and tears come down her face "You do not understand how many times I've dreamed of this moment."
       He hugs her harder and then gets his distance from her and asks "How long have you thought I was dead?" there is hurt in his question. He hates seeing Kara crying.
       "Since May 31." Kara says almost choking with her own words.
       "I will kill her." he says furious.
       "I get none of this... I mean why would your mother create such a horrible lie?"
       "Because she's a proud woman... I knew something was ought, but I never thought she'll do this." he says shaking his head.
       "Austin what happened?" she asks sitting down on the couch she was sitting with Adam just a few minutes ago and Austin does the same.
       "My mother's company was going horrible and with all the cancer treatments she was struggling. But she still wanted for me to have the best chance at surviving... that's why we moved to Spain remembered?"
       She nods and says "Yeah I know all that."
       "Well, after the last time we talked I was getting better you know. I felt more energetic... I don't know how to explain it. But then one night I had a surgery-."
       She interrupts him and says "I know that, your mother told me you died afterwards."
       "Well no, I did was about too. But I didn't. After that the doctors gave me a strict order to not do anything for some weeks and my mom took it to the extremes... like she always does it. She took away my phone and she told me that I needed to worry about getting better and somehow she was right. So I didn't had my phone for weeks and it was horrible not being able to talk to you, but my mother told me she was talking to you every day. I guess that's a lie. -." he looks up at Kara who is still processing all the information and then he sighs and continues "Anyway after I got better I asked her if I could get my phone back and she told me she needed to let me know something... she told me you told her you wanted to break-up with me. That you couldn't handle the long-distance relationship and that you couldn't handle the worry of me dying at any moment... I was devastated.
       She told me that the best thing was not to call you, to forget about you and I tried... I tried so hard to forget about you, but I couldn't. I knew my mom will never let me come here to talk to you... I thought because she was mad at you... but I know now that's not the reason... anyway when she went to a business meeting in Washington a couple of days ago, I knew it was my chance to come here. I would have come sooner, but I debated in whether coming or not... I didn't know if you'll want to see me again, if you had somebody else already... as you can see I came."
       They were in silence while Kara processes everything but she shakes her head and says "This is all too much. First I need you to know that I never broke-up with you. I would've never done that to you."
       "I know that." he says with a sad smile.
       She takes a deep breath and says "And then you need to know that your mother isn't in Washington."
       "What do you mean?" he asks confuse.
       "She's here. She told my mom she came here to handle some papers or something and to help her with the I-am-richer-than-you party." Kara explains him and he shakes his head in denial "So she lied about that too, huh?" she nods "Unbelievable!" he says screaming and furious.
       "Why did she lie to me? To everyone here?"
       "I seriously don't know." he says frustrated.
       "How are you now? I mean in health?"
       "I've been NEC since two weeks after the surgery." he says, and she hugs him hard, like she hugged him before he went to Spain.
       She gets her distance and says "You should talk to her Austin, see what's going on with her."
       He shakes his head "The last thing I want to right now is talk to my mother." he says angry.
       "I get that. But you need to. You need answers... I need them too."
       He looks at her serious and then in a sad and guilty tone he says "I cannot even imagine what you've been thru all this month's."
       "They were horrible. I was practically in my room all summer." she admits.
       "Kara I'm so sorry-." she cuts him off and says "It isn't your fault. You didn't lie to me... God you didn't even know about it."
       He nods agreeing with her and they both stay in silence trying to thing what to do, but then Austin says "I'm just going to say it because it's eating me up... Is he your boyfriend?" she nods "Whoa, that's... whoa." he says surprise and hurt.
       Kara grabs his hand and says "Please don't get like that. I thought you were dead Austin. I had to move on, you get that right?" she explains trying to make him understand.
       He nods and says "I-I... yeah I get it. It's just... it hurts."
       "The last thing in the world I want to do is hurt you."
       He puts both of his hand in her arm and the other one in her face and he says "Kara I've miss you so much."
       "I've missed you too." she admits, and a tear comes off her eye and Austin wipes it with his thumb. He gets closer to her. He wants to kiss her, but Kara knows that's not right so she stops him and says "Austin... I can't. I'm with Adam."
       He stands up and asks furious and jealous "So you chose him?"
       She stands up and says "I'm not choosing anyone... I... I'm with him."
       "You're choosing him Kara!" he yells.
       "Don't yell at me! It's not like that." she says trying to defend her case.
       "It's exactly like that!" he yells again
       "Austin calm down!"
       "Calm down? Seriously? I found out that my mother told my girlfriend and everyone in town I was dead and when I come here I see you with another guy... alone!! At your house!! And you're telling me to calm down?!"
       "I know it's a lot to take in Austin... but it's not my fault. I didn't create the lie. I suffer for months because of that lie. God I couldn't even get up off my bed. I felt so fucking horrible. My parents were planning on sending me to a boarding school and Mike had to come to stop them from doing that and to warm me!!! I had to pretend that everything was perfect when I was dying inside... and now you come and this is... this is a lot to take for me too. My life was what you can call normal until this morning! And I was trying to watch a movie with Adam so I could just forget about my life and my problems for a while but it didn't go that way."
       "Oh, I'm so sorry I interrupted your date!" he says annoyed.
       "I didn't mean it like that." she whispers.
       He shakes his head and puts his hands on his hair and says "I cannot be fighting... you know how I get when other guys are around you. I don't like it and seeing him touching you got me mad."
       "I can understand that. This whole thing is weird." she admits.
       "Yeah it is... boarding school huh?"
       "Oh yeah, they were trying to act like caring parent for once in their life and that was the best idea they thought of." she says annoyed and he could see she is mad about it so he asks "So what happened next?"
       "Well, after Mike told me I just fake I moved on. I went to one of Jorge's many parties and stay there until late. It worked because my mom saw when I came late. And well I kept on going out with Adam and one thing led to another... and now we're dating."
       He nods trying to eat-up his jealousy and asks "So I could see you told him about me?"
       "Yeah, it was before we dated." she admits.
He nods and Austin knows that he keeps up with this conversation he will blow-up so he changes the subject and asks "You said that you wanted to forget about your life and your problems and that everything was normal until this morning, what happened?"
       "Like always my mom. I found out she has spied on every single guy Jenna and I had dated and every single girl Mike has dated."
       "Wait what?" he asks surprise. He has known Margaret forever, and he knows she's crazy, but this is a new level of craziness.
       "Yeah I know crazy right? I... that's the private life of someone... and that she violated that privacy is too much to take in."
       "Does your boyfriend know?" he asks almost regretting bringing him up again. But he knows Kara well enough to know that he has something to do with her trying to forget about her problems.
       "I was planning on telling him after the movie... or maybe tomorrow. I don't know."
       "Why are you so afraid of telling him?"
       "Because... he's past is not something he wants people to know. I'm the first person he has told it and that my mother knows could be a lot to him."
       "What do you think he'll do?"
       "Go away. Escape from the craziness of my life." she admits.
       "Well, if he goes away he's a dumb-ass. But I think you should tell him. If he cares so much about that then he should know."
       "I missed being able to talk to you."
       "Me too K, I missed it a lot." she melts when she hears him call her "K." it was a nickname he gave her when they were little.
       "But you know, probably I should solve this first. We still need to know why your mother lied."
       "I can find that on my own, you can talk to your boyfriend."
       "No!! I'm not leaving you with this alone. She lied to me too and I need an explanation just as much as you need one."
       He nods and asks her "Do you've any idea where she might be?" she shakes her head and says "No... I know she was going back to Spain on Friday. Or at least that's what she told my mom."
       "The party was yesterday right?"
       "Yes. Why?" Kara asks not knowing what the importance of the party being yesterday is.
       "Remember that our mother's have a tradition of drinking coffee the day after the party."
       "So she's with my mom drinking coffee. Do we look for them?" she asks unsure of what he wants to do.
       He shakes his head and says "If everyone thinks that I'm dead and they see me... I'm not ready to deal with that situation today."
       "So what do we do?"
       He thinks about it for a while and unsure he asks Kara "Do you think you can call your mother saying to come home with my mother?"
       ​"She will ask why with Anna and what do I tell her? Because Austin is here and FYI he isn't dead?" she says sarcastically.
       ​"Tell her you found some stuffs of mine you want to give to her."
       She thinks about it and if Anna is going tomorrow to Spain then this is her best choice so she agrees "Okay, let me call her."
       Kara calls her mother and on the first beep she answers and says "Look who called."
       She tries to stay calm and says "Hello to you too mother-." she takes a deep breath and asks "Are you with Anna right now?"
       "Yes why?
       "Could you come with here to the house? I found some things of Austin that I think she'll like to keep."
       "Of course and we have an unfinished conversation." her mother reminds Kara and she sighs and says "Yeah I know mom. We can talk about that later."
       "Sounds okay with me, we'll be there soon." Kara hangs up the phone and looks at Austin and says "They're coming." he nods and Kara asks him "What are we going to say?"
       "We don't have to say anything. My mom is the one that has a lot of explanations to do."
       Kara's phones rings and she looks who it is.
       It's Adam.
       "Aren't you going to answer that?" Austin asks pointing at her phone that is still ringing.
       She looks again at the phone and presses ignore "It's Adam. I'll just talk to him later."
       ​"Are you sure? I mean you can talk to him in front of me if you want." he says and even though he likes the idea of her ignoring his call. He needs her to know that he's cool with this entire situation... or well sort off.
       She shakes her head and says "Yes I'm sure. I'll explain everything to him later."
