Dawn felt a chill travel down her spine as she scrubbed away at a stain. One of her trembling hands made its way to her face, pushing aside a strand of hair that kept blocking her eyes.
How much longer could she work like this? With a shaky inhale, she turned slightly to look over her shoulder. The man who had been staring at her for the past half hour did nothing but smirk. Dread filled her entire body. She felt as if she would completely shut down.
It hadn't even been two weeks since she'd begun working at Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex and there was already a person dead-set on making her as uncomfortable as possible.
She had originally applied for the Daycare Assistant position. Dawn loved kids and felt happy when she was around them. Sure they could be a handful- she'd pulled gum out of her hair more times than she could count- but it was always better than the average fast food joint.
The company called soon after she'd applied, but apparently the position was already taken. Which wasn't surprising to Dawn. Any person would die to have a job that paid thirty dollars an hour to watch children. The skills required were basic, with no required field of training or diploma.
Disappointment quietly turned into hope when the man on the phone offered a different position. It hadn't been her first choice, but Dawn was happy enough to know that she wouldn't have to speak with customers. She was basically a janitor- cleaning after guests in different parts of the Pizza plex.
It didn't bother her any. The pay was the same and all she had to do was put some elbow grease into a few pizza stains. At least, that's what she had thought.
John approached her on the first day. He was a mechanic- smart, charming, and seemingly infatuated with Dawn. Growing up, Dawn found very little interest in dating. Her parents always pushed a few boys her direction but they never peaked her interest. The idea of giving time and affection toward another person she barely knew sounded exhausting.
She made this fact very clear to John when he attempted to flirt with her. Dawn knew she had a timid personality but never failed to voice her desires in important situations.
John hadn't seemed upset when she turned him down. If anything, he was amused. The chuckle he let escape afterward made her frown. She didn't find it amusing at all. He, on the other hand, made a point of talking with her every chance he got.
The first few days were annoying. Now, at week two, Dawn felt uncomfortable. His eyes never left her when she was in his presence. Sometimes he would simply watch her without saying anything. She wondered if he was intentionally trying to make her squirm.
No, she thought stubbornly as she stared at her shaking hands, Don't let him win. Dawn was going to scrub that stupid carpet until it looked better than before, and John wasn't going to stop her.
Tightening her grip on the cleaning tools, she braced herself and focused on her work. Soon the trembling began to fade. As the time passed she began to hum softly, hips swaying gently as she stood and wiped sweat from her brow.
There were only a few more spots for her to clean before closing. She continued humming as she moved areas, pausing only to place her hair into a loose ponytail.
It was an hour before closing by the time she finished. Feeling satisfied, Dawn smiled and stretched. Feeling more calm than before, she glanced around to find that John was nowhere to be found. Good, she thought triumphantly. Maybe he finally got the hint after she blatantly ignored him all night. She could only hope.
Dawn moved her way through the lobby, being quick to put her rolling cart away before making her way to the break room where her locker was.
After a few minutes of walking she stumbled upon the Daycare doors. She paused for only a moment, thinking about what it would be like to work inside before sighing. Sure it would have been nice but at least she got a job at all. Maybe one day she would be promoted to the position. She perked up at the thought, a small smile forming as she began walking again.
Footsteps sounded shortly after she'd begun walking gain. It made her pause for a moment. An uneasy feeling settled in her stomach as she turned to look for the person. What she wasn't expecting was for John to be standing right behind her.
He chuckled as she jumped in surprise. Frustration filled her entire being as she huffed in annoyance.
"You scared me."
John smirked. "It's easy enough, seeing how easily you space out."
"I guess," Dawn crossed her arms and sighed, "what do you want, John? It's almost closing. I've got to go."
Despite her straightforward question, she found her voice becoming soft. God, she just wished she could be firm. But, unfortunately for her, she hated conflict. The very idea made her a nervous wreck. She was a people pleaser through and through. So despite how bad she wanted to yell at John to go away, she was afraid raising her voice would somehow offend him.
Stupid mind, always worried about the wrong people, she thought bitterly to herself.
"I was just wondering if you'd be interested in going out tonight. I know it's late, but there's a really good bar downtown-"
Dawn held up a hand, hoping he wouldn't notice how bad it was trembling. "Sorry, John, but I'm going home. I have an early shift tomorrow."
"Then how about tomorrow?"
"I'm busy tomorrow too. Now, if you'd excuse me, I need to get my stuff- I don't want to get locked in here."
John's hand shot out quickly, grasping her shoulder in a firm grip. Dawn froze for a moment, confusion taking over before she pulled her body away.
"What are you-"
His hand was on her again, body stepping closer. She could feel his breath hit her face as he huffed dramatically, eyes narrowing.
"What do I have to do to get you to say yes? You've been blowing me off for weeks now!"
Dawn frowned when she couldn't pull away again. "I'm not interested, John. I thought you would take the hint."
He took a step closer, and Dawn felt herself shrink when he towered over her.
"I don't get it- what do I have to do!"
"Well, for starters, you can let go of me," Dawn said through clenched teeth.
She tried pulling away again. He was becoming too close for comfort. His face was pinched tight in anger, dripping with sweat as a frustrated noise left his lips. Spit hit her in the face, making her cringe.
Every little detail on his face was becoming crystal clear, from the way his eyebrows subtly merged together into a unibrow, to the tiny pores that littered across his cheeks and nose. His eyebrows furrowed, eyes angry and strained so hard Dawn worried they might pop out of his face.
"No," he muttered under his breath, "no, no no-"
She was suddenly being pulled. Heels digging into the carpet, Dawn did her best to stop him as he practically dragged her back down the hallway.
"What are you doing-" A squeak left her mouth as he yanked her arm, hard, throwing her off balance. Her small frame fell into her arms as he caught her, maneuvering her body so that her back was to his chest. Panic finally set in when one hand covered her mouth, his voice right next to her ear.
"I'm tired of playing your games," he practically growled out. And with that, he was pulling her down the hallway again. Dawn shouted in fear, struggling as hard as she could to break free.
How had this escalated so quickly? His grip tightened painfully as she tried to escape, throwing her weight this way and that in hope he would lose his balance.
Instead, John snarled and dug his nails into her cheek. The seriousness of the situation hit her full force. She screamed in desperation before biting down onto his palm.
He cursed in pain and stumbled back. She had only run a short distance before he was behind her again, grabbing her ponytail and yanking hard. She fell to the ground, eyes wide as he yanked her back up and began dragging her.
A familiar set of doors came into view as the two struggled. John removed the hand covering her mouth to grab his key card and scan it.
"Help!" Dawn's scream was cut short as the hand was placed over her mouth again. A beeping noise sounded, followed by the slow creaking of the daycare doors as they opened.
John shoved her and she tumbled, looking up just in time to find him closing the doors behind him.
He trapped us in here, she realized. As a mechanic, he had access to the animatronics at any time. Dawn had no such level of security- her key card opened nothing more than the break room and supply closet.
Fear shot through her entire body as John stood before her, huffing and puffing. It was dark in the daycare, but she could see the faint outline of his body as he closed in on her.
"I have waited patiently for weeks, but you've been playing hard to get," he said, grabbing her wrists. She screamed. His hand met her face with force, knocking her to one side. The grip on her arm held firm, and he was quick to pin it next to her face before finding the other and doing the same.
"There's no one here. The night time attendant is out of commission for the time being, so it's just you and me."
"No!" Dawn screamed again. Kicking with all of her might, she attempted to buck him off of her. Her attempts were in vain as he straddled her, grip on her wrists so tight she cried out in pain. John moved to place both into one hand, and grasped her face with the other.
"This is how this is going to go- you're going to lay here like a good girl. I'm going to show you a good time. You'll see what you would have missed out on."
Bile rose in her throat. Dawn's cheeks were beginning to throb, his grip unforgiving. Tears fell onto his fingers. He scoffed as they slid down his hand.
"Don't act like you don't want this, sweetheart."
He's delusional. Dawn sobbed, struggling again in a fruitless attempt before he slapped her again. She gasped for breath and squeezed her eyes shut. It was hard to see already but she wanted to will herself away completely. This can't be happening to me. It can't be happening. Please, God-
He released her mouth slowly. The sound of his belt made her freeze, the cold metal buckle making contact with her stomach as he began to hike up the front of her shirt. No. She refused to lay down and die.
So she screamed. She screamed so loud her throat began to hurt. It was piercing and sharp. John cursed but continued, something dark behind his voice as he spoke.
"There's no point. The room is soundproof. Wouldn't be fun listening to a bunch of kids screaming from the outside, would it?"
Dawn's breath hitched as his hand slowly trailed up her shirt. A whimper escaped her as he hardened against her.
"Please let me go. John, please-"
His voice was right next to her ear as he leaned down, "Not a chance, sweetheart."
As she felt his hand on her chest, the world started spinning. Closing her eyes like before, she tried to imagine herself anywhere but there, underneath him.
A few moments passed before she began to hear a quiet laugh. It was dark and low, sounding from somewhere above them. John froze.
"ṉ̵̉̈́͊a̸̯̅̆̃̎̒u̸͈̿͐̈́̅̾g̴͓̯̍͌̄̈́̕͜h̷̠̭͔͂́ț̴̘̀y̷̝̝̪͉̆̈́̇͜͝ ̵̜̕b̸͕̋̀́͜͠ơ̶̧͝y̸͈̙̘͍̤̐̔̂," a voice taunted.
"No," John muttered under his breath, "he's supposed to be off-"
Dawn took advantage of the distraction, using the last of her strength to try and buck him off. It worked this time, throwing a startled John to the side before she stood to her feet.
She managed to take a few steps back, body trembling in fear as her breathing hitched. Her pants were unbuttoned but untouched. Her bra, on the other hand, had been disposed of.
"You little piece of-" John moved toward her, but something large fell from above, landing hard against the ground.
It made Dawn jump and yelp in fright. John, on the other hand, shouted and fell back. The figure was glowing, illuminating the space around him just enough for her to see John's full figure.
"ṉ̵̉̈́͊a̸̯̅̆̃̎̒u̸͈̿͐̈́̅̾g̴͓̯̍͌̄̈́̕͜h̷̠̭͔͂́ț̴̘̀y̷̝̝̪͉̆̈́̇͜͝ ̵̜̕b̸͕̋̀́͜͠ơ̶̧͝y̸͈̙̘͍̤̐̔̂", the thing sang again.
It was a giant robot. She recognized the starry print on its pants, and the hat that sat upon its head. It made a hissing noise as it stood to its full height, towering over John by several feet.
"Stay back Moondrop," John managed to gasp out weakly.
The robot's laugh was soft but scratchy, head tilting from one side to the other as it took a step forward.

Eyes wide in terror, John turned and ran. Dawn watched in horror as he was pounced on from behind. He hadn't even been close to the doors. The robot was too fast. One of it's hands grasped John's arm, giggles glitchy as it squeezed.
The scream John let out was deafening. Dawn heard the crunch as his arm splintered and cracked. She immediately hunched over, losing her insides all over the floor. She choked and gagged as another scream filled the air.
Lightheaded and dizzy, she felt her body growing weak as the screams continued. After what felt like an eternity, John could no longer be heard. Just the sound of metallic feet hitting the ground as it approached her.
Dawn whimpered in fear, arms wrapping around her small body as a form of protection. A heaviness was falling on her body as she lay on her side, trembling. She could hear a voice from above her speak as her vision began to fade.

The robot sounded conflicted, it's voice glitching and full of static. Dawn felt more tears fall down her face as the robot drew closer.
I don't want to die- but she had no more strength. The last thing she felt before losing consciousness were arms gently wrapping around her.
