Six

Lynn couldn't believe what she was seeing. The light blue eyes, the defined jaw, the sight stubble, and most defining thing of all, the jet black hair. She was staring right at, and was just saved, by her stalker!

"Oh. My. God. You're mmmhm-," Lynn's words became muffled as she stared down at the thing now sticking out of her mouth. "Wha da hail," she let out as she bit down on the cookie and began chewing the half that was in her mouth.

"Okkkk, now before you start going all badass on me and accuse me of being a creepy stalker, I was not following you," Lynn's glares at him, eyebrows furrowed, as the words come out of his mouth.

"You're telling me that-," Lynn looked irritably down at the finger over her mouth, she was once again being cut off.

"Shhh, I'm not done. When I saw you at school today I wasn't exactly watching you, I was watching the interaction between you and that ex of yours, it was funny. And, also, no I did not follow you here. I was walking past on my way to the restaurant over there," he pointed to a restaurant three buildings down across the street, "when I saw the situation happen. I just stepped in on time to end it before they did anything else." Lynn opened her mouth to try to talk again but was once again interrupted, "andddd, speaking of which, your welcome for saving your ass. Literally," he winked.

"Are you done now?", the boy nodded at her thoughtfully, "Good. So, let's say I do believe you, which I'm not saying I do. What about in the parking lot this morning?'

The boy gave her the most confused look she had ever seen, "Well, I have no clue what you're talking about. So, if you really did have a stalker today, it wasn't me. I didn't go to any classes today, I had just stopped by after first period to get the forms I needed to do before my first day tomorrow and to get some old homework to see if I can figure out how to do it before I start classes."

"Okkk, but then how did you know Mason was my ex if you haven't even started school here yet?"

"I asked one of the girls who passed by you guys, she told me, that simple."

Lynn let out a frustrated sigh and shook her head, "Ok, whatever. I'll believe you, for now." The boy gave her a lopsided grin.

"Okay now that, whatever that was, is over," Lynn looked over at the voice to see Hazel smiling at the boy, "I'm Hazel Evans, and this is Madelyn Collins, but everyone calls her Lynn, and I suggest you do too," She widens her eyes and makes a face that says 'trust me', "And you are..?"

"Hunter, well Hunter Chase if you wanna know my last name too," He gave the girls a crooked grin.

"Nice to meet you, Hunter. Where'd you move from, and why the heck did you decide to come to our small town?"

Hunter laughed, "I actually lived here when I was younger but had to move away, and just now got the chance to move back. Which is so weird by the way. There are so many places here that weren't here when I last lived here. And I noticed that they got rid of the old arcade, what's up with that?"

"Oh my god! You really did grow up here for a little bit," Hazel laughed, "Mr.Williams sadly passed away, and his only son could only keep it alive for about six months before they ran out of funding."

"Wow, that's so sad. That old man was the nicest guy I've ever met, even to this day."

Hazel nodded in agreement as Lynn cleared her throat. While the two had been talking the ice cream man had finished their ice-creams and had handed them over to Lynn, who ended up paying for both hers and Hazel's, even though it wasn't her week to pay. She handed Hazel her ice-cream, "There used to be an arcade?" Lynn hadn't moved to the town until sixth grade when most of the new stuff was being built.

"Oh yeah! Sorry, sometimes I forget that you haven't lived here all your life. It stopped running a year before you moved here, in sixth grade."

Lynn nodded in understanding as she ate her ice-cream. Chocolate was her most favorite thing in the world. As it melted in her mouth all of her bad feelings about the situation just disappeared, because, well, chocolate. Chocolate was the one thing that could make everything better.

Hunter chuckles, "Do you guys wanna continue this conversation down at the restaurant? I think it'd be cool to know some more people before I start tomorrow, but I'm starving and can't stand to postpone eating much longer."

Before Lynn had the chance to say no, Hazel cut in front of her, "Haha, sure! That'd be great."

"Awesome, let's go now before I starve to death," he laughed as he turned around and began walking to the restaurant.

Hazel caught up to walk next to him as Lynn sulked behind.

Glaring at her friend she continued to eat her mouthwatering chocolate ice-cream when I thought popped into her head, "Wait, am I the only one who just noticed how long it took for our ice-cream to be made."

Hazel looked behind her at Lynn with a mischievous look on her face, "It's probably because you ordered so much chocolate."

Lynn rolled her eyes and took another spoonful, "What? Chocolate fixes everything."

Ok, so I tried to make this chapter a little longer since my previous ones have been on the shorter side. I have no clue if I succeeded though, haha.
