Max said that he had to tell me something after dinner. I also had to talk to him about the Lillian thing.

We walked out into the parking lot and talked.

"Sugar. From the first day I met you I knew you were special. You're so kind and thoughtful, trustworthy, and beautiful. And there's so many more things I could say about you. And now the easy part's over. Sugar...I'm going away to medical school."

Everything was happy at first. When he grabbed my hand and began to speak. His voice filled with passion and soulfulness. But then, you heard all of that being slammed by a door when reality hits you. There of course had to be more to it than just compliments about me.

I stood there shocked. With a single tear running down my face.

"Can you say something?"
Max asked.

But I couldn't. No I really couldn't. All these things I wanted to say are all clammed up in my throat. All the angry things. Not towards him though, towards medical school. But he hasn't even told me where he's going yet!

"Where is the school?" I ask with hopefulness in my voice.

"It's in Dublin." He said.

I groaned and more tears began to drip down off my face.

"When are you leaving?" I asked.

"I leave in 3 weeks." He he says.

"Oh." Three weeks isn't too bad. We still have time to spend together.

"I knew I was going since the start of the Summer and when I met you, I just couldn't tell you. It would break my heart. And now that I'm telling you, the pain is unbelievable. I'm sorry, Sugar but this is what I want to do."

"No don't be sorry. Going to medical school is such a big accomplishment! I don't want this amazing opportunity to be ruined because of me and my tears. You want to do this and that's great."
I finished before I could shed anymore tears.

"I'm glad that you're not mad." He smiled and wrapped his arms around me.

I hugged him too.

"So what was the thing you wanted to tell me?" He asked.

"I just wanted to let you know that, Lillian isn't planning on leaving you alone." I laughed and shook my head.

"Oh." He laughed too.

We got into the car and drove. Nowhere in particular, we just drove and that was all.
