Max decided he should take me some where calming today. So we got in his car and drove.

A few minutes later, we arrived at a little pond that had tiny baby ducks floating around. In front of the pond was a bench that looked hand made.

"I made that bench-" Max read my mind. "-yeah I made it about a year ago. It's nice because sometimes I might drive by this place and see an old couple sitting on the bench, feeding the ducklings."

"This is wonderful, Max!" I say as I take a seat on the bench.

"And today, Sugar we are going to be an old couple because look what I have." Max took out a plastic zip lock bag of bread crumbs.

I smiled and took a hand full. Then I gently sprinkled some crumbs in the water.

I watched as two baby ducks took some bread and gobbled it up. They held their head up as they swallowed.

I put some bread crumbs in my hand and lowered it down to the ground, just to see what would happen. Then one brave little duck came waddling up. He put one webbed little foot on my hand and bent down to take some crumbs. I felt his little beak brushing against my skin.

Then the duck turned around and waddled back to the pond.

"That was amazing!" I said to Max.

"It looked pretty cute." Max said.

I smiled at him and then went back to feeding the ducks.

"You know, this is where I'm gonna be when I'm old. Not just here in Hawaii but here at the pond too." I took a deep breath as I spoke.

"Do you want to know where I want to be when I grow up?" Max asked.

"Sure." I said.

"It's in Hawaii. In fact you've been there before."

"I have?" I asked surprised.

"Yes you have." He smiled his warm smile at me.

I tried to think of all the places I've been to with Max. And then it came to me.

"The sea shell shack!" I say.

Max nodded.
"I've wanted to live there ever since I bought the place. Here I'll show you where I want everything to be placed." We packed up the bread crumbs and said goodbye to the ducklings.

We parked in the parking lot of the beach and raced to the shack.

Once inside, Max told me where he was going to put everything, his bed, his kitchen, his bathroom (which was already there), his living room everything.

"You really have everything planned out don't you?" I say teasingly.

"Yes I do." He laughs.

Max and I decided to sit at the beach for the rest of the day. Max put an arm around me and I smiled.
