I got a text from Max this morning.

"Hey, I'll pick you up tonight. How about around 8:30?"

I replied

"For what?"

"For our first real date of course! :)"

I smiled at his last text and then I immediately thought about what I would wear.

My instincts told me shopping is the best idea.

I got into my dad's truck (with his permission of course. I can't risk being grounded tonight.) and drove off.

I stopped at a mall and got a few dresses. Then, I saw the dress that was perfect for me! A short purple dress that wasn't too frilly but just enough to make someone say "wow". It was on display. And in my size to!

I rushed into the store and asked the clerk.

"Can you please take that purple dress off please?" I point to the dress on display.

She nodded and smiled. Then she headed towards the dress and took it down.

"Thank you!" I said.

Then I headed to the change room.
I changed into the dress quickly and struck a few poses in the mirror. I smiled at my choice and paid for the dress at the counter.

I went home and tried it on. It was gorgeous! And I kind of think I rock it if I do say so myself.

I must have spent FOREVER in the mirror because by the time I was finished, it was 8:30. And I heard a knock on the door.

"I'll get it!" I yell even though everyone is in the backyard, enjoying their margaritas (or in my brothers case, grape juice).

I open the door to see Max wearing his plain swim trunks and his Hawaii T-shirt.

"Wow-" He started. "-I love what you're wearing, but I didn't expect you to wear anything fancy." He smiled.

"Well there was no dress code." I smile and walk out the door into his car.

"You look great tonight." He said as he opened the passenger door.

"You look plain tonight." I tease.

"Well there was no dress code." He smiled and I rolled my eyes playfully.

We drove for about fifteen minutes until I finally felt the car going up hill.

We drove for another two minutes until we reached a barricaded cliff. The sun was setting, leaving the sky a pretty shade of lemon yellow, orange and a rosy red.
It showed the view of a never ending ocean.

"Let's eat." Max said as he pulled out a basket.

I saw sandwiches wrapped in Saran  wrap, a bag of potato chips, and some sparkling grape juice. The grape juice brought an even bigger smile on my face then the one that was already there.

"Wow, Max." I say with feeling.

"You like it?" He asked handing me a can of grape juice.

"I love it." I say as I lean in to kiss him.
He gets the message and leans in too. It was quick but romantic.

"So what's in the sandwiches?" I ask.

"Oh their just PB and J." He blushed clearly a little embarrassed.

"I love PB and J!" I say.

"I know right it's awesome!" He replies.

He hands me a sandwich and I open the Saran wrap.
We take a bite at the same time.

"PB and J is the best." He says.

"It really is." I agree.

After the sandwiches, Max said.
"Oh and I have something for you."

He got a white box out of his pocket. He handed it to me.

"Open it." He says.

I open it, and see that a pendant rested on a silver chain. On the pendent, it said M+S.

"It's our initials, Max and Sugar." He smiled and I smiled back.

"It's gorgeous, Max." I felt tears welling up in my eyes. I've never had a boyfriend do that for me ever.

"I'm glad you like it." He said.

I hugged him and he hugged me. This had been the best first date ever. The best date ever.
