──A SMILE was displayed on daniels face all throughout the week after he had turned up to dahlia's home. after making sure the girl was okay, dahlia had asked if daniel wanted to stay around for a while, that giving the perfect time to talk things through.

so they did, and what dahlia had told him had made daniel both frown and smile.

thankfully, dahlia had taken daniels apology, her also having said sorry for how she acted- that making daniel tell the girl she was stupid as he was the one that was in the wrong as he was the one who kicked her out of his house.

but dahlia responded with, 'it was in the heat of the moment- don't worry about it.'

but daniel had been worrying about it- he wanted to make amends with the girl properly, him wanting to give the two another chance.

dahlia had told them that it was best for the two to be friends, and those words did feel like a punch to the stomach to daniel.

so currently, the two exes were not hanging out together, but they were each others type of conversation to the person they were hanging around with at this moment in time.

dahlia was round alexandra's house, corbyn round daniels alongside the rest of the boys as they were going to be doing some writing for the new album today.

"it was a good job he came over when he did-" alexandra spoke up, taking a sip of her coffee she had in hand as her and dahlia sat in the living room of the girls home.

both girls had their legs up on the sofa, the two sharing a blanket as they enjoyed one of their chill days- of which mainly consisted of updating one another on what has occurred in the others life.

"yeah- i guess it was." dahlia whispered, alexandra raising a eyebrow at the smile that was appearing on her best friends face across from her. about to make a comment about that, it was then that dahlia's smile quickly disappeared seconds afterwards, alexandra sighing.

"you told him you just wanted to be friends didn't you?" dahlia looked up to her best friend, her eyes widening as she was both surprised and shocked how alexandra could have thought of that.

"what? how did yo-"

"-i am your best friend for a reason lia." alexandra said with a laugh, dahlia giving her friend a nod of her head before taking a sip of her own coffee.

"how did he take it?"

"i could see that it wasn't what he wanted to hear just by his face- but he said it was okay and totally understandable. he just wants us to be back to normal as we can be and- yeah." alexandra leaned forward, giving her friends leg a rub as a smile appeared on her face.

"i am still surprised he came over anyway- and that he came help me i- i didn't think he would."

"you must be stupid then- what? it's the truth dahlia." dahlia glared at her friend, alexandra returning the glare before she spoke again. "he still cares dahlia we all know this- but if you two want to be friends and nothing else then- i give you two a clap for that."

"i just thought maybe- maybe it would be better if we were just friends an-and it gives him the option as well as me to move on."

"let's be realistic here dahlia. that boy will not move on. but if you want to- as a best friend i will help you do so." dahlia smiled as she mouthed the words 'i love you' to her best friend, alexandra returning the words.

"right- you put on this is us and I'll go make us popcorn okay? okay." dahlia laughed as she nodded to her best friends words, watching as alexandra got up from the sofa, taking hers and dahlia's coffee cups that the two had just finished, so she could return with hot chocolate.

alexandra made sure to pick up her phone on the way out, as she had been getting texts from corbyn, multiple texts in fact- that making alexandra assume it was going to be about what daniel was saying about dahlia.

"oh fucking hell corbyn."

"xandra are you going to grab the popcorn or what? it's been beeping at you that it's finished for the past minute!" alexandra heard dahlia laugh after her shout, the girl no looking at her phone as she finished texting corbyn, bringing her back into the real life.

she placed the popcorn in the bowls, making the two hot chocolates with marshmallows and whipped cream before reappearing in the living room with the bowl of popcorn and dahlia's hot chocolate.

dahlia thanked her best friend, alexandra smiling as she went back out into the kitchen to return with her own hot chocolate and her phone.

dahlia was thankful for alexandra being her best friend, in fact she was glad and appreciative of the whole group. whether or not they were busy, if someone was upset in the group- atleast one person would drop their plans to go and be there for that specific person.

francesca, emilee and kayla were going to be coming round later in the day, as each of them had plans with their families, and even though they said they would drop their plans to be with the two girls- dahlia told them to not be stupid and go be with their families and they could just come round later.

"i have a scenario for you dahlia." the girl turned to the blonde sitting next to her, her pausing the start of 'this is us' to give her full attention to alexandra.

"hit me with it."

"what would you do if you daniel came to hang out with the group with a new girl?" alexandra watched as dahlia's face showed no expression- that immediately answering the question for alexandra, but she leaned back on the sofa- waiting to hear dahlia's answer.

"i would be happy for him."

"bullshit." alexandra blurted out, the blonde girl taking a handful of popcorn, eating it as she was been giving the look from the brunette beside her.

"what it's true!" dahlia exclaimed, alexandra raising an eyebrow as she took more popcorn.

"okay- maybe i don't know how i would feel if he did it now- but if you were to ask me in a few months time then i would be fine with it." dahlia spoke, the brunette ignoring the smirk that was alexandra's face as she knew her best friend too well.

"oh i won't need to ask in a few months." dahlia furrowed her eyebrows as she watched alexandra take a sip of her hot chocolate, ignoring the stare she was getting from dahlia.

"why?"

"because you two will be together then- bet you money."
