──IT WAS dahlia's birthday and well, the girl was excited to be turning twenty-one. her fake id no longer having a purpose and no more having to ask kayla and jonah to get her into the club and buy her drinks- even though she had been getting away with using her fake id with buying drinks,

but being able to get drunk legally, was a whole different ball game.

and dahlia was excited for it.

the time had just past half past ten, that being the time dahlia had decided to get out of bed, she had officially woken up around an hour ago- but the brunette was too comfy in her bed to think about moving.

because it was such an important day, dahlia was expecting to see her family today due to them all having arrived back in los angeles from their different trips- so they had no excuse not to see the girl celebrating her special day. daniel was supposed to be coming around also, dahlia having not given him a specific time- just like she hadn't given the girls any time to come over.

what she did know was that the whole group would be coming around later in the afternoon to begin the celebrations properly- with alcohol and sing alongs, not sure what to yet but dahlia had made sure to put one direction to musicals such as hairspray, mamma mia and a little bit of high school musical.

because who didn't like high school musical?

daniel was supposed to be spending last night with dahlia, him sleeping around so he could be the first person to see the newly twenty-one year old, and wish her a happy birthday. but dahlia said she would see him today, as last night daniel was sorting out last minute adjustments to one of the songs on the album, and well- dahlia didn't want to get in the way of that.

i mean she had seen him everyday for the last month.

her and daniel had been dating for just over a month now- and dahlia was over the moon. she loved the fact that she was back to being her happy self- which she was before, but now that her and daniel were back in the place they originally were in,

it made dahlia's heart warm.

putting on her go to playlist, the sound of 'adore you' came through her speaker in her room, immediately making dahlia's mood boost to a higher level than it already was. the way dahlia was moving around in her room after getting herself out of bed was almost like she was imagining herself in a music video,

from the dance moves to the singing in the mirror- if anyone saw her, she would be embarrassed- but right now?

dahlia didn't give a fuck.

playing harry styles always got dahlia in the mood- in fact any one of the boys of one direction could boost dahlia's mood. and you can't have a day without listening to one direction- so that's what also came up on dahlia's playlist.

daniel stood outside dahlia's home, a huge sigh escaping his lips before he knocked on the door. the sound of music caught daniels attention, that telling him that his girlfriend was too engrossed in her music to have even heard that he had knocked on the door.

before just entering the home, he walked back to his car- making sure he had everything that corresponded with dahlia's birthday presents. he took his phone out of his back pocket, to see he had a text from dahlia saying that he could come over whenever and that he had his key so he didn't need to knock.

that reassured daniel as even though he had walked into his girlfriend's house multiple time with the key she had given him- he always liked to make sure it was okay first. walking back up to the door of his girlfriends home, daniel had to put down the things in his hands before being able to successfully open the door.

the sound of the music that was muffled by the outside walls became clearer to the blonde boy when he stepped inside dahlia's home. he closed the door behind him before placing the things he had brought in dahlia's room.

he had noticed that dahlia still had not acknowledged that there was someone in her home, daniel shaking his head at that as even though he had to unlock her front door with a key, anyone could have grabbed that key from him and entered the girls home- and she would have never noticed.

progressing his way up the stairs, he heard the familiar sounds of chase atlantic playing through dahlia's speaker, her voice also being heard the closer he got to the top floor.

"i'm about to take you back to church- well tell me your confessions baby, what's the worst?" daniel smiled as he leaned against the doorframe of dahlia's room, him watching his girlfriend sing along, swaying back and forth whilst she put her mascara on- looking at herself in the full length mirror that was positioned on her wall.

"cause i'm about to take you bac- oh fucking hell!"

daniel laughed, as he held his hands up in surrender at his girlfriend who glared at him, her pointing her mascara wand at him.

"you haven't been standing there long have you?" daniel shook his head, dahlia seeing the smile on his face- that telling her otherwise. she placed her mascara down, before opening her arms out to daniel, him walking over before engulfing his girlfriend into a hug.

"happy birthday my love." he mumbled against her forehead, placing a kiss on it. he swayed the two back and forth, placing kisses all over the girls face- dahlia laughing before gently pushing daniel away. daniel gave her another kiss- this time on the lips before removing his arms around her so he could sit on her bed whilst she finished her makeup.

daniel assumed that dahlia was now having a chase atlantic appreciation day/ concert, as 'into it' now played through her speaker, it running through both daniels and dahlia's ears. you could tell she got excited over this song now playing as a huge smile appeared on her face before she composed herself to do her makeup.

"but i'm into it." daniel sang, dahlia's eyes widening as she turned around. daniel held back his laughter at the shocked expression that was sprawled across his girlfriends face.

"have i finally got the daniel james seavey fucking singing chase atlantic." daniel shrugged in response to her question, dahlia smiling as she too sang the lyrics to the chase atlantic song. watching dahlia do her makeup made daniel watch her actions so intensely- even though he knew she didn't need makeup, seeing how confident and happy it made her feel,

that meant daniel was happy.

seeing dahlia do the last minute touches to her makeup, it didn't take the girl a minute to fall into daniel's arms in the bed, him rolling out of the way as he knew what she was going to do.

"i am not being tickled today dahlia." the girl raised an eyebrow to her boyfriends statement, her jerking her hands forward, daniel flinching back as he held his hands up in surrender. dahlia ignored that before she leaned forward, tickling daniel- him doing the same back to her.

"no no no! no- n- tick-tickling the birthday girl you idiot!" dahlia exclaimed during breaths, the girl loosing her breath from having been tickled- so much so it made her stop tickling daniel and instead her hands were trying to push her boyfriend off her.

"daniel!" daniel laughed, holding his hands away from dahlia's sides, the girl narrowing her eyes at him as she sat herself up, daniel copying her actions. he pulled his girlfriend into his side, placing a kiss to her temple- that gesture making dahlia smile.

"i have something for you." daniel whispered, dahlia looking up at him, daniel already looking down at her with a bright smile on his face.

"daniel i told you not to get me anything."

"it's your birthday, why would i not get you anything? it's my girlfriends birthday and she needs to be spoiled- not everyday you turn twenty-one you know." daniel said, giving her arm a squeeze before he pulled her up from the bed once he had gotten up himself. "i need to spoil the girl i love."

"what?" dahlia questioned, daniel looking confused as to why dahlia looked confused- well more or less shocked.

"if you're shocked by that i said that four letter word then yes dahlia- you are the birthday girl and i love you."

dahlia mentally awed at her boyfriends words, bringing him into a kiss before squishing his cheeks- daniel swatting her hands away from his face, him narrowing his eyes at her. "i'm being all romantic and you go do that."

"sorry- the opportunity was there." dahlia said with a straight face- well she struggled to as she broke out into a smile before grabbing either side of daniels face once more, this time not pinching his cheeks.

"i love you too, you faux blonde." daniel scoffed, bringing the girl into a hug, swaying them back and forth before pointed to the hallway outside dahlia's room.

"now come on your surprise is downstairs."
