Chapter 11 - Done Peacefully
Steph came out of the car, instantly catching the eye of the girl by the road. She raised an eyebrow.
She scoffed. "I was expecting a man, with a name like Nate. Unless I've finally attracted the really rich ones. You working for him?"
Without answering, Sara helped Nate out of the backseat and helped him over so that they could see her face to face.
"Oh. I see." She sounded disappointed. "Look, I said come alone."
"Well, we're both clients. It's only fair that you see both of us." Said Nate.
"I only see clients one at a time." She huffed.
"Oh, well then. We'll just leave and then never pay you, even though you already made them. Bye." Steph was about to walk off, but the girl grabbed Nate's dangling arm, stopping them.
"Alright, alright. I got it. Let's start over. I'm Asia. Pleasure doing business with you. You are Nathan, right?" She asked.
He nodded. "Which means you're Stephanie." The girl pointed to Steph, who also nodded.
"Alright, I've got them here." She pulled the IDs out of her bag, kicking up dirt with her boots. She handed them both to her clients. She then held her hand out, expecting payment. Steph placed a large wad of cash in her hand, which Asia stuffed into her bag.
"Fantastic. Nice to meet you both." She said.
"My name is Tavren?" Asked Nate.
"No, it's Taven." She rolled her eyes.
"How do you pronounce this?" Asked Steph, pointing to her name.
"Mid-ear-a." She groaned, annoyed.
"You pick weird names." Remarked Nate.
"Shut up, they're good names." She crossed her arms angrily. "Actually, I heard about what happened to you, on the channel. I saw Ronnie's video." She said.
"Oh, you’re a fan?" Asked Steph.
"Not as big as my friend. She even wrote a fanfiction. I think it was called Stay Silent or something." She thought for a sec. "But never mind that. How are you guys alive? Wait. If you are supposed to be dead, and you're also getting fake IDs, then you guys must have faked your deaths! Why?"
"We're saving someone." She said.
"You're going to the red room's new location, aren't you?" She guessed.
Steph bit her lip. "Figured." Said Asia. "Hey, if you get into a cinch, I know someone there. The name's Elizabeth. She's pretty low-key, so only seek her out if you really need it." Asia reached out her hand. Steph shook it.
"Thank you." She said. Asia nodded before jumping on a bike, and going away.
"Huh. It's kind of nice... For something to be quiet for once." Said Steph.
"I'm afraid that it won't last long, though."
