you are my soul,
and i am yours, too

. . .

Jungkook's:

I'm okay! Stop worrying about me, and stay away. I've moved on.

"No--" She dropped the call instantly. "That's rude! I've moved on, my ass."

I sat on the swing I used to play with when I was a kid. I looked up the night sky and the constellations spelt her name. She was my silver lining in all the chaos of life. I want to come home to her soon. That apartment we shared was my heaven, after all.

"Oh Jungkook, what are you still doing here?" Jin walked towards me with a fine smile drawn on his face. He swayed my seat like he used to when we were kids. "Weren't you supposed to come back yesterday?" he wondered.

"But hyung, I can't leave you with all the business mom and dad had left. Besides, the board members haven't met you yet."

"Are you telling me I can't do it? Alone?"

"No, hyung. I just want to be there for you."

"I heard your conversation with Hyeri." He stopped swinging me and sat on the seat beside mine.

"You seem to worry about her a lot."

I didn't reply. I was more interested on what he would say next. I let him do what older brothers usually do, giving a piece of their wisdom to the younger ones.

"If there's something I've learned from being lost, it was: always come back to where your heart is. I had a fiancée, do you know that?"

I looked at him with marvel in my eyes. It was a surprise how he almost married someone and he didn't even tell us, his own family. "What?! You had a fiancée and you never told us?!"

"It was because you guys would hate her. She didn't come from a rich family, but I loved her. I promised to love her for as long as the universe would last."

There was a sudden gloom in his eyes, something I couldn't fathom, but my heart did. He loved her but—

"But I lost her. She died and she took my heart with her. I guess I'll be an old, unmarried, workaholic man then." He laughed despite his broken heart.

"Hyung..."

"Go home and tell her you love her. Don't lose her again."

His words of encouragement got me rushing back to her. My home. My life. I drove to Lizzy's place like my life depended on it. She knows where Kihyun lives. She'll take me to her.

"Lizzy! Where's Hyeri?" I panted after a long run on the wide corridor.

"With Kihyun." She tried to slam the door on my face but I blocked it with my hand and let myself in. She's still a b.itch.

"Where is she?!" I spat.

"I just told you where she is. And they're both happy now so please, let them be." She rolled her eyes on me and nearly walked an inch farther but I grabbed her by the wrist.

"Don't play hard-to-get with me, Lizzy. I don't know where Kihyun lives."

"That's not my problem."

"Do you want me to kneel and beg?"

Her eyes were screaming hatred. She stayed quiet while devising a plan in her mind. I don't think I would like it.

"Tell me you still love me and I'll tell you where he lives." She smirked and parted her hair behind her shoulders.

"I thought I made myself clear to you a year ago. I never loved you, Lizzy."

I never loved her, and she didn't like the sound of it. She gasped and threw herself at me, I was quick to push her away.

"Aaahh!" She screamed. "Why do you still love her?! She hates you!"

"I love her, and I always will. If something happens to her because of you, I swear we'll meet each other in hell," I cautioned.

"You'll never see her again."

"I will find her even if it would take an eternity. I will find her."

"Imagine what Kihyun and Hyeri could be doing right now. They could be doing it on the couch—" She took a step towards me.

"— on the kitchen." and another step.

"— on the table." Her eyes stayed glued on mine.

I tried not to pay attention because I know my ex-girlfriend. She hated making love on the table.

"— on the bed." Her hands crawled on my hair and pushed my face on hers so that our lips would crash.

I pulled away and slapped her. But that didn't stop her though, she attempted to kiss me again and that's when I got violent. I pushed her so hard she fell on her butt. I am so tired of her psychotic ass.

"You're not leaving me again!" Before I could turn the doorknob, she ran to the kitchen and instantly took a knife.

"I will stab myself if you take one more step, Jeon Jungkook!" Her hand shook as she aimed the knife to her chest.

I turned the knob and opened the door. Heartless and selfish, I might seem but she's gone mad. "Kill yourself. I don't care."

Lizzy's:

I dropped the knife on the floor the moment he left. "D.amn you!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

"He's mine! He's mine!"

The world turned slowly around me. I could hear the voices in my head telling me to do things. All I have to do was drive over to Kihyun's place and make her suffer the way I did.

"Kihyun, open up!" I pounded Kihyun's door.

"Hey—"

"You b.itch!" I forced Kihyun out of my way and grabbed on Hyeri's hair.

She whimpered while I dragged her across the living room. I have reached a whole new level of satisfaction from assaulting her.

Hyeri's:

"Lizzy! Stop!" I squeezed her wrist as all the pain in my body accumulated on my scalp.

Kihyun watched closely as my best-friend rampaged me inhumanly. After she had grown tired, she threw me on the floor.

"Why does he f.ucking love you so much? I thought that if I could break you up, he would be mine but why does he still f.ucking love you?!!" she threw tantrums around like a child.

What the hell is she talking about?

"Are you sure you want to meet my boyfriend?" Hyeri slouched back on Lizzy's bed and opened the TIME magazine by the night stand.

"Am I not allowed to meet my best-friend's boyfriend? Besides, I want to know if he would pass my standards. I'm not giving you away to some random guy." She fixed her bow tie and led the way to the car.

They drove to a park where they agreed to meet.

"Jungkookie, this is my best-friend, Lizzy. Lizzy, this is my boyfriend, Jungkook."

The moment she laid her eyes on him, she drowned in his presence. Lizzy felt a sudden rush of feelings, she knew were wrong.

He's my bestfriend's boyfriend. Why do I feel this way? She thought.

Lizzy wasn't able to take him off her mind ever since that day. The boy gave her butterflies in her stomach, making it more impossible to keep her sleeping schedule. She would always come with her bestfriend, hoping to see him. He made her feel as though she was being sailed across a vast ocean of all the nice things she could ever dream of. He made her feel special, and he didn't know.

No wonder, he was her first love.

And her first heartbreak.

She knocked on his door one night, and confessed.

"Jungkook, I love you."

"Hyeri loves me too. Go home now, it's dangerous for you to be outside at this time." He heard her clearly, but instead of rejecting her blatantly, he came up with a witty answer.

She grew obsessed of the thought that he would someday be hers. She'd follow their dates around and imagined herself in Hyeri's place. I should be the one he's dating, she thought.

"Jungkook, I love you."

"You can't love me, Lizzy. I'm in love with your best-friend, so please stop stalking me before she finds out."

Her imagines became darker and darker as the moon and sun took turns in ruling the sky. She kept her friends close and her best-friend closer. Everything she did was for the boy. The boy who would never love her back.

She set him up with a stranger who would soon be the cause of their break up. Lizzy had fun watching their relationship crumble into dirt for that's what she wanted all along. But he just loved his ex-girlfriend so much, it turned her mad.

Knowing her plan failed, she poured her anger to her best-friend. Her best-friend who was innocent ever since.

"Your d.umb ex-boyfriend dropped by a while ago, searching for you," she spilled.

His name rang a bell of hope in Hyeri's heart. She knew he'll find her. She knew he wouldn't let her down.

"Good luck to him 'cause I'll see to it that he'll never, EVER find you."
