In The Facility
I'm not dead! I'll try to update more frequently now.
Every Wednesday.
Enjoy!
Every part refused to move. Janica payed helplessly at the doctor's pleasures. As the needle drew closer and closer to her, she braced for pain. The needle plunged into her arm and took out blood.
Janica felt every drop leave her system. She wanted to scream for Aaron to help her. Nothing would leave her mouth. As the men examined the blood, they became startled and stared at Janica.
One graced his finger across her cheek. "What are you?" He asked in a curious tone. The man went to the other and began whispering to each other. Janica didn't need to hear them to know that she wasn't going to see Aaron or Lavender again.
She still was scared, but she was ready. If it meant she could get Aaron's mother and brother out, it was fine.
Meanwhile,
Aaron and Lavender entered the ominous building. The room was all cement and dimly lit by fluorescent lights. Stone pillars held up the roof along each wall. To the right of the entrance was a metal counter guarded by bars. A man sat behind the counter with a look that looked half brainwashed.
He looked up at the two and gesture for them to come. Lavender hid behind Aaron as they got closer. "Arm" the man said in a scruffy voice. Aaron held out his arm with his palm facing up. The man lifted up a gun like object, and crushed it into Aaron's wrist.
A flash followed by a loud click came from the tool, and the number 475 flashed on Aaron's wrist. He did the same to Lavender who jumped at the click. The number 476 flashed on her wrist. One of the guards standing by the two handed them two uniforms. The same guard pointed at a metal door by the desk. "Change" he said. Aaron nodded and led Lavender to the room.
Lavender went inside and changed. Aaron politely waited outside until she came out. She wore an old beige dress that was just below her knees. "Why can't I wear my blue one?" She asked gesturing to the dress she had been wearing. Aaron ignored her and went inside. The room was not decorated, it had a metal bench in the corner and was made completely of concrete. He began to change and the end result was a white tank top and beige shorts with no pockets.
He stepped out and the guard took Aaron and Lavenders clothes. The other guard escorted the two down the dimly lit hallway until they came to an arched opening. It led into a dark room which reeked of sweat. It was hard to see, but Aaron could hear the guard take his keys and unlock a metal door. He shoved the two inside and slammed the door.
"So how do we find your mom?" Lavender asked. Before Aaron could answer a scruffy voice interrupted him. "Lost somebody? Don't worry I did too. Just forget it" the voice said. A match hit the stone and a mans face was illuminated with light. He appeared to be about 70. He had a long brown goatee and messed up hair. He looked half starved and definitely appeared to have not have bathed for a while.
"I'm Franklin. I've been here since the plague began. I've lost someone. We all have" he said. He then threw the match into a pit of coal next to him, revealing the rest of the room filled with filthy, hungry, prisoners. "So what's your number?" Franklin asked. "Number?" Aaron asked. Franklin then tapped his wrist and the number 26 flashed on it. Aaron copied him and the number 475 flashed. "So you're 475, so that means you're 476" Franklin said as he looked kindly at Lavender. Lavender held on Aaron's shorts an poked her head out from behind him.
"We don't have very many children" Franklin smiled. "So I assume if there's not many children, you would know the majority of them. Right?" Aaron asked hopeful. "Well, yeah I guess" Franklin said scratching his head. "Do you know a kid named Seth Ryker?!" Aaron asked.
That's it for now! I'm terribly sorry about my absence! I had a lot of school stuff an I've been on vacation when school ended.
