Almost instantly the vampires start to jump off from up top of the roofs. I continue to run, bullets whizz by my head as Kellin fires a couple of rounds from behind me. Four vampires went down in front of the one that I killed. Hissing in pain, I hop over the bodies.

"Joe, watch out!" I hear Kellin shout. I can't do nothing except run forward. I start saying a prayer, hoping that Joe will be okay. I glance down at Alex for a second. He was pale, really pale. I doubt he will make it if we can't even get to the around the warehouse.

I duck in time as bright red nails swipe dangerously close to my face. Gun shots sound from behind me, and the female fell. I was close to the reaching the corner. That was until at least ten vampires, three males and seven females, dash around the wall. Directly at me. I stop running and start to back up.

"Aww is the poor hunter scared?" The brown haired female taunts, cocking her head to the side. Her buddies laugh, as they step slowly towards me.

"Patrick!" I hear Andy shout before something hit me on the back of my head. I grunt, dropping to my knees, cradling Alex to my chest, protecting him as much as possible. I stay down as more shots rang through the night air. I felt blood trickle from the back of my neck. The remaining vampires stiffen in front of me and I knew that one thing was on their mind. My blood.

I get up as fast as I can as they start towards me. I curse silently. I can't defend myself because I had Alex in my arms. One of my hands had been bitten. And if I want to defend myself that means I would have to set Alex down. There was no way I was going to let that happen. Everyone else was busy with their own problems, nobody can help me. I close my eyes as they got closer.

This is it. I thought to myself sadly. I'm really going to die. Alex will never see Jack again. My friends are going to be killed also. We failed. I snap my eyes open. No, there was no way I was going down without a fight. I narrow my eyes as I got into my fighting stance. What happens next was a blur, even for me.

Out of nowhere, a person wearing a red jacket lands right in front of me. The person crouches low and lets out a warning hiss. And that was when it seemed like every single vampire stopped fighting us. The four that were remaining in front of me start to back away slowly.

"Whoa dude, calm down," the dark skinned male vampire says, holding his hands up. "We were only having a little bit of fun. No need to get all defensive over it." The red jacket person stands straight now.

"If I ever see you terrorizing them again," came a deep growl. No doubt this person was a male by the sound of their voice. "I will not hesitate to kill you all next time."

"Of course, come on y'all let's go somewhere else!" Without a warning, all of the vampires disappeared. The only beings still here were us five and the mysterious dude. My friends were instantly beside me, about as confused as I was.

"Who are you?" I ask, my voice echoing through the street, making me wince.

"That, does not matter." The guy says, turning around slowly. My friends don't hesitate to point their guns straight at him. Dark brown eyes stare straight into my blue eyes. He appears a couple inches taller than me, the red hood of his jacket covering his black hair. "Instead of staring at me, shouldn't you get him..." I didn't hear another word he said. Pain explodes throughout my entire head. My skull feels as if it is split wide open.

"Patrick?" Andy asks, as the guy in front of us narrows his eyes.

"Are you okay?" Joe adds, as my vision grew blurry.

"Fine," I muster out weakly, trying to walk, only to start sinking to my knees. The guy moves lightning fast in front of me, catching me before I fell on my knees. Alex was squished between the both of us.

"Tell me something," He says in a really low whisper, only I could hear. "Were you bitten?"

"Yes," I whisper back, using the last of my strength. "But don't tell my friends, please." Everything went black.

A/N: Sorry that this chapter is short. And if it is a bit confusing, I am also sorry. I tried to make this as interesting as possible. Hopefully it is. I feel like it is and I am really enjoying writing this story a lot! I shall write you the next chapter really soon . Also this story is really close to hitting 200 reads! Woot Woot!
