013, the funeral
XANA EVENTUALLY pulled away from the hug, the girl taking a deep breath as she wiped away the remaining tears. Jake still held onto his daughters shoulder, staring into her teary eyes. "Are you ready?" He questioned.
"I'm ready." She breathed out, taking a deep breath as both her and Jake left the mauri. Jake left Xana to go find Neytiri as the young girl went to find her lover, who she would be taking an ilu with to Neteysm's funeral — since she couldn't ride one on her own due to her wound.
She spotted him in the distance as they made eye contact. A small smile formed on his face when he spotted that she had both hers and Neteyam's
necklace on.
"How's your wound?" He asked, running a hand over her bandaged stomach. "Doesn't hurt as bad anymore. I think it will leave a nasty scar." Aonung tutted, grasping her face gently with his hands. Aonung stared down at his Xana's sad doe eyes that seemed to still be filled with so much love. "He ataahua nga mea katoa mo koe, e taku e aroha nei." He spoke, placing a soft kiss on her forehead. "I see you." Aonung smiled at the girls words as a small, unnoticeable smile formed on hers. "I see you." He responded, holding his hand out for her to grab.
(translation: "Everything is beautiful about you, my love.")
She placed hers within his as the pair walked over to an ilu. Aonung climbed on first as he helped her fit in behind him. They swam out of the reef, spotting several other Metkayina's in the distance.

Xana felt her nerves rising as they edged closer to the Cove Of Ancestors. This was the last she would see Neteyam's true body. And if she was being honest, it felt wrong that they was burying him within the ocean. He wanted to be buried at home.
Xana took in the view infront of her as they entered the Cove. The Metkayina were stood in a circle around the Spirit Tree. Aonung floated over to Lo'ak, helping the girl climb into her brothers ilu. "I love you." Aonung whispered to the girl, giving her a look of reassurance.
Xana wrapped her arms around Lo'ak stomach as the ceremony began. Xana and Lo'ak floated beside Jake and Neytiri, who swam beside Neteyam's curled up body. Kiri came over to the twin's side as Lo'ak first got off the ilu before the both helped Xana off, the girl wincing slightly as her body and wound came in contact with the water.
She closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. "You okay?" Lo'ak asked as his twin sister opened her eyes, the girl nodding in response. She linked arms with her brother as they both went under water, watching as their parents connected him with the spirit tree. His body sunk into the depths on the ocean, breaking Xana's heart. Both her and Lo'ak arose from the water , the twins sharing the same broken look. Xana pulled him in for a hug, listening to his sobs. Xana looked up to the sky, her eyes glistening as she thought back to many of the memories shared between her and Neteyam.

"This has got to be a joke." 6 year old Xana grumbled as she followed after 8 year old Neteyam, who was dressed a lot more nicer than she was. "This is not fair! Why can I not be the ringleader!" Xana complained as the duo entered their tippi. "Hey, at least your not a fucking dog." Neytiri lightly slapped Lo'ak around the head, scolding him for swearing.
Spider and Kiri entered the tippi as Lo'ak, Xana and Neteyam bursted our laughing. Whilst Kiri was dressed nicely in a beautiful blue yellow and red dress, Spider looked like a clown in his dwarf outfit. "Not funny at all." Spider grumbled. Even baby Tuk who was dressed up as Cruella de Vil was laughing.
Xana looked down, examining her lion outfit as she released her and Neteyam definitely got the best outfits. Neytiri and Jake entered the tippi, the two adults dressed as Gamora and Star-lord. "What do we say to Norm?" Neytiri urged as the man walked into the room. "Thank you uncle Norm!" They shouted in sync, smiling at the man who had sent these costumes up from earth.
He smiled brightly, setting up his camera. "Who's ready for photos?" He asked, earning cheers in response. Xana dragged Neteyam infront of the camera as she dramatically posed, resting an arm on Neteyam's shoulder and resting another hand on her hip, standing on the point of one of her toes whilst Neteyam stood with his arms crossed across his chest. Suddenly, Neteyam picked up his little sister, putting her on his shoulders. They both pulled a silly face, heartfelt laughs escaping both of them.

12 year old Neteyam and 11 year old Xana sat on the edge of a thundering rock, their ikran's asleep behind them. Xana threw another but into her mouth, watching the slow setting sun. "You know, I wouldn't know what to do without you." Xana spoke, her words coming out mumbled due to the nuts stuffed in her mouth.
"There will come a day where you will have to live without me, iti." He responded, grabbing a handful of nuts that sat beside Xana. She slapped his hand, squinting her eyes at him.
(translation: "little one.")
"No there won't. I can not live without you, your my bestfriend. If you die, so do I." Xana truthfully spoke. Neteyam shook his head. "No Xana, you've got to promise me that when I die, you will live on otherwise all this work i've done protecting you and making you the perosn you all will go to waste. When I die, my spirit will still live on inside you, just like Tsu'tey's and grandfather's is." Xana hesitated for a moment, but when she seen the desperate ness in his eyes, she couldn't say no. "Promise." She breathed out, throwing another nut into her mouth as Neteyam smiled.
"Run faster, Xan!" Neteyam shouted after his little sister, adrenaline pumping through the 13 and 14 year old. "I'm running as fast as I can, dickhead!" She shouted, using a word she had learnt from her father. The Vxankai quick on Xana's tail. Her breathing quickened, sweat dripping off of her forehead. Neteyam was merely a few feet infront of her as an idea flicked through her brain.
It may cost her her life, but it would safe her older brother. In the distance she spotted a tree that if she jumped, she could cling onto. "Whatever you do, keep running!" She shouted towards her brother as she jumped onto the branch.
It felt as though everything happened in slow motion as she swung into the Vxankai's back, landing on it with ease. It immediately felt her weight as the forest animal began trying to throw her off. She grabbed its anetena, connecting her braid with it as a shock was sent through her body.
The Vxankai freaked out even more, the animal never having a soul sister. There had only ever been 7 riders of the Vxankai due to very small population of the semi extinct animal. "Chill the fuck out!" Xana shouted as it complied.
She took a deep breath, processing what had happened. "Oh my god." She breathed out, stroking the Vxankai. She rode ahead, spotting distressed Neteyam not to far away. He opened his mouth to shout at his little sister, but once he saw the Vxankai, he became shocked. "Holy shit. Your the first Vxankai Makto in centuries, Xana!"

She zoned back into current time as the rest of the Sully's and Spider came over to the twin's, a group hug being shared between them. "Sully's stick together."
