1- The Statue
-Tord's POV-
I put my phone back on my bedside table and groaned. I really didn't feel like interacting with humans today. I picked myself off my bed and moved to the closet I just finished putting the rest of my stuff in. I pulled my favorite red hoodie of the hook and slid it over my plain grey shirt. I quickly put on my black shoes and slowly walked downstairs. "Papa! I'm hanging out with Edd!" I heard a small grunt and continued out the door.
I put on my headphones and started blasting Teenagers by My Chemical Romance as I continued walking. The cafe we were meeting up at wasn't that far from my house, maybe I can get a coffee before I get bombarded with an already way too hyper Edd.
I met Edd when I first moved here. I was sitting alone at lunch and he walked up to me, dragging poor Matt behind him, and introduced himself. Surprisingly he didn't care for the tuffs of hair shaped like horns, or my weird accent. He was...nice to me. It felt strange.
I walked through the cafe doors and went up to the counter. "One black coffee please" the barista nodded and called out to the other worker.
"3 dollars and 63 cents" I handed her the money "Name?"
"Tord"
"okay Todd, the coffee will be ready in a minute."
I sat down at a random table and started playing something on my phone. I looked out the window across the street at the park. I felt strange. Like I was supposed to go over there. Like whatever was at that park was pulling me towards it. Probably nothing.
"TODD!" I looked up and sighed. No one can ever get my name right. I walked up to the counter and grabbed my coffee. I made my way back to the table and sat down to wait for Edd and Matt.
Speak of the devil. "TORD! Come on!" Edd ran through the doors and immediately ran up to me. He grabbed my wrist and led me out the doors.
"Edd! Please slow down! I have hot coffee!" We reached the entrance to the park and he let go. He continued walking more slowly into the park as Matt and I followed. "Where are we going?" I whispered to my ginger haired companion.
"He wants to show you the statue"
"Statue what's so great about some statue?"
"I'm glad you asked!" Edd turned around so he was walking backwards. "This statue wasn't built by the town, or in memory of someone, the statue was just there. Legend says the statue was once a boy and only the touch of his soulmate can change him back." He turned back around and stopped.
In front of us was indeed a boy. It was indeed a statue. The light grey-blue colored stone let the sun highlight his face and clothing. His hand was outstretched, possibly trying to go after something?
"Why did you show me this? It's just a statue." I turned to Edd who was now talking with Matt.
"Hold his hand of course!" Edd exclaimed.
"Edd the statue is just a statue. The legend is not true. Many have tried and all have failed. Don't pressure Tord into doing something that will never come true." Matt sighed.
"Please"
I sighed and turned back to the statue. I put my hand up and made it so our fingers were intertwined with each others. Nothing. I turned back to Edd and shrugged.
"Told ya so" Matt hit Edd on the arm, playfully, and turned around to walk out of the park. Edd soon turned and followed along by my side.
"Hello?"
