38- The Last Hello (E)

Peter looked down at Thea in admiration. Her eyes were still closed tight, but the continuous movement of her chest rising and falling reassured him. Peter reached back down toward the table to Thea, placing his hands where they were beforehand and gently lifted her up. Carefully running outside the room, as to not jostle her, he tried to maneuver his way through the winding halls.

Peter groaned in frustration as he reached another dead end. He quickly pivoted around on his heels, but before he could set off again, he felt movement in his arms. Peter looked down to see Thea stirring in his grasp; her eyes were struggling to open as the lights kept flickering around them. Thea opened her eyes for a split second, not enough to actually see who was around her or what was happening. Her mind was still reeling from the harsh needle jammed into her neck and the torture she was put through. Thea suddenly writhed in Peter's grasp at the thought of more happening to her. Peter's grip on her tightened as he called out in a calming voice, "Hey, hey, hey, Thea, it's just me."

When her eyes finally adjusted to the harsh lighting and her body ceased its wiggle, Thea said in a hoarse voice, "Peter?"

Peter smiled softly at Thea as he said, "I'm here Thea." Peter peered down at her neck, specifically at the spot where the needle once was. The gaping hole that once stood as a stark reminder of her torture was now healed over completely. Peter shook away his disbelief and quickly turned his attention to the rather bulky collar attached to her. He nodded his head in the direction of the collar and asked, "What is that?"

Thea lifted up a hand to her neck and placed it on the collar that inhibited her from her powers. Her fingers glided over the collar as she explained. "It's an inhibitor collar...it basically stops me from using my powers." Peter looked away from Thea as she explained in detail.

"Is there a way to take it off?" Peter questioned. He began to walk down the hall with Thea still in hand. Thea pondered for a moment, her mind searched for the answer to that question; she soon came to realize that the remote that Dr. Truman always held with her was the source of her collars power.

"Yes, but it's with Dr. Truman. She has the remote that controls it." Thea explained to Peter.

Peter turned down another hall before he asked, "Wait, who is Dr. Truman?" Peter's steps slowed as he waited for Thea's response. Thea then explained everything that had happened with Dr. Truman since she had been here. The pain she had been through, the torture she had been inflicted too. Thea swallowed her pain she felt while telling Peter. Peter was in visible pain while he heard her say this. His jaw was clenched and his eyes closed tight as he heard her repeat her story of pain.

Peter gripped to Thea tighter as he ran down the halls, trying to find this monster of a person. While running, Thea had asked how he found her and if he was alone. Peter explained through clenched teeth about how he, Tony and Natasha found her by her powers and that Tony and Natasha were holding off all the guards while he went to find her. Peter, with Thea still in his arms, continued running through the halls until he could hear the sound of people speaking nearby.

The faint sound of a woman yelling at someone alerted Peter of his proximity to, hopefully, Dr. Truman. Peter crossed the threshold of a door that led into an open room with high ceilings. It was a pure concrete room with two exits, one where Peter and Thea entered, and the other was a large garage opening where a car was sat. Standing outside of the car was two burly men getting yelled at by an older, brunette haired women in a white lab coat.

The opening of the door to the room alerted the people inside of Peter and Thea's presence. Dr. Truman whipped her head around and widened her eyes at the sight of Thea in Peters' arms.

"Truman!" Peter shouted at the woman, "Get this collar off of Thea and I'll consider letting you off easy." Peter gently set Thea down beside him, laying her back against a wall as he continued speaking.

"Just give me the remote!" Peter shouted.

Truman grinned at Peter and spoke, "What will you do if I don't?"

Peter didn't say anything in response, his eyebrows only furrowed in response as his mind pondered what he should do. Peter cleared his throat as he stuttered, "I-um...I will-"

Truman laughed as she mocked Peter, "I-uh- See, you don't have anything!" Peter's anger began to rise as he tried to sputter out a way to save Thea. "Precious little Thea, couldn't even save herself with all the power she possesses. She needed another person to save her."

Thea, who was laying against the wall, narrowed her eyes in anger as she heard her say this directly to Peter. Her fists clenched together, her nails digging into the skin of her palm. Without her knowledge, her fists began to shake. A familiar feeling of power began to rush through her as Truman continued to degrade her. Her fists began to become engulfed by the powerful mist. Truman stopped her speech to look over at Thea and froze in shock.

"That's...." Truman spoke out. Truman was stopped short by a sudden rush of purple mist surrounding her body, lifting her off of the ground. Thea, unaware of her powers showing up until now, finally sat up in shock. The collar, that once prohibited her from using her own powers was now obsolete. Her grip on Truman never faltered, instead, it got tighter as Thea struggled to stand up.

"You know, I never understood what you were talking about before," Thea spoke as she stood up. "Praising my powers and all. Saying I was so much more than you could get out of me." Thea began to walk past Peter, who stood in shock, and over to Truman who was dangling two feet off the ground. Thea's fists were raised in anger, powerful magic flowing out of them as she clenched her hands tighter. Dr. Truman choked out, "I..I knew..it." The few men that were with Truman quickly took notice of the situation and let as fast as they could, leaving Truman be herself.

Peter, who was standing in shock and confusion finally took attention of the situation and tried to reason with Thea. "Thea, let her go. We can get this done another way."

Thea, whose back was turned to Peter, finally turned around to stare at Peter. And what Peter saw staring back at him wasn't the same Thea he knew to love. Thea's eyes were glowing with anger, a purple glow began to pierce through the air as she whipped her head back around to look at Truman.

"You always wanted the most out of me. Torturing me, making me hurt the only person I trusted in here. Nothing ever pleased you." Thea grinned as her body began to full up with power. Her hair began to lift up and defy gravity, floating around her body as she was surrounded by a glowing force of magic. "Is this what you wanted?!"

Peter took a couple of steps back as he witnessed Thea crush Truman with her powers. Truman let out a shriek of pain as she felt her bones being crushed, her organs being misplaced in her own body. And with one final crush of her hands, Thea compacted Dr. Truman into nothingness. Truman disappeared into the air, just how Thea had done it before with a tin can. Thea had erased Truman from existence. She let go of her hold on the air, her arms falling limp beside her as she knelt to the ground. The only item that was left behind on the ground where Truman once stood was the single remote that they desperately tried to get from her.

Peter rushed over to Thea to check on her. His heart was pounding from viewing this amazing, yet deadly show of power. He bent down to grab the remote and clicked a random button on it, luckily it was the right button he was searching for. Thea heard the familiar sound of air hissing from the collar before she closed her eyes. She could feel Peter's shaking hands reach over her collar and unclasp it from around her neck. The spot where the collar sat was red and irritated. Thea was breathing heavily as she tried to calm down her muscles and mind.

With shaky hands, Peter lifted up Thea into his arms once again and set out the large garage door to find Tony and Natasha.

Thea, once more, passed out in Peter's arms as he searched for Tony and Natasha. Around by the front of the building, he heard the familiar voice of Tony speaking to Natasha.

"We should go find where the kid is at. He might be in trouble."

Peter turned around the corner to see Tony and Natasha, surrounded by the passed out bodies of many guards. Tony was clad in his suit and Natasha was putting away her batons behind her hip. Tony was about to go into the building when, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Peter carrying Thea. And in one quick movement, he stepped out of his protective suit and ran over to Peter.

"Kid! Is she okay?!" Tony spoke out in a worried tone.

Peter still had a worried look on his face but put on a fake smile for Tony. "Yeah...she's okay."

Tony let out a small laugh of joy and placed a warm hand on her cheek. Tony's caring action got cut off short by Natasha talking behind him. "Let's go before the Polish authorities get here. It will be a little hard to explain that." Natasha said while pointing over at the crumbling building that held captives. Tony looked over at Natasha and then back down at Thea's bloodied face before he said.

"Let's get her home."
