"Crap," Peter whispered. "Come on."
Peter breathed a sigh of relief when he found his Spider-Man suit in his backpack, the original one that Tony had made him before he went to Germany. It wasn't as good at the Iron Spider one he had but he was grateful for either one.
Peter slipped both of his legs into the suit and pulled them up to his shoulders, tapping the shiny spider in the center of his chest to fit snugly to his body. He pulled the mask over is head and blinked a few times to adjust.
Peter looked at his surroundings, the city around him was illuminated and it looked nothing like his dimension. Buildings were brightly lit with pink and blue lights and the evening sky was the prettiest shade of dark blue he'd ever seen.
It was quite nice, nice enough to ignore his sixth sense warning him there was incoming. A bright electrical flare cut across the sky and knocked Peter off his feet. He slowly got up on his feet, clutching his side.
"Ow," Peter groaned, "Karen, what was that?"
"An unnatural electric flare cut off all the power in the city. Backup generators are running now."
Peter watched as all the lights he was admiring from a minute before go out.
"What happened?" Peter asked.
"It seems that an unidentified superhuman has caused the short-circuit"
"Can you search the area to find the suspect?"
"Searching."
Karen pinpointed the epicenter of the electric rifts and gave Peter directions to get there. Even though Peter could swing from building to building he found it a little strange that Karen gave him directions. He was pleasantly surprised to find out Karen mapped out the best route via building.
Peter got to the epicenter in under five minutes. He looked around the windy rooftop but he saw nothing. He could tell the waves were still coming but no one was there.
"Karen, are you sure this is the right place?" Peter pondered.
"Yes, I am sure," Karen responded.
He picked up movement behind him and Peter whipped around to see the top of someone's head peeking over the rooftop.
The figure climbed up to the roof and Peter was frozen still in confusion and suspicion. It was another Spider-Man, but in a different suit. As far as Peter knew he was the only Spider-Man and this one had a completely different suit design than him. It was black with a spray painted red spider symbol over his chest.
The other Spider-Man froze upon seeing Peter but he visibly relaxed when he realized that Peter was also a Spider-Man.
"Hey, I don't think I've me-"
Peter cut him off by sweeping him off his feet. The other person landed on his rear with a pained groan.
"What are you doing?!" He asked.
"Who are you?!" Peter shouted.
Peter didn't trust him, he couldn't trust anybody. The other person got up to block Peter's attacks but he wasn't striking Peter back. He found that a little weird as he continued to combat him.
Just then another electrical flare burst through the sky. Peter stopped his barrage of attacks to squint at his surroundings. The mystery Spider-Man jumped to his feet and to Peter's surprised seemed to know who was setting off the rifts.
"Malvolia, I knew it. Are you here to help?" He asked Peter.
Peter wasn't sure that was why he was in this dimension but he might as well fight with him. He was still suspicious but decided to lay off on him until the other bigger problem was taken care of.
"Be ready for her, I haven't been able to catch her for two months," he warned.
A flash of blue-white light flashed before Peter's eyes and his vision blurred. He blinked the spots out of his vision and he saw a young woman, probably in her twenties, in front of him.
She was glowing as electricity crackled around her, the wind blew her glowing white hair around the revealed her sickly sweet smile and bright eyes.
"So I see you've brought company this time," she sneered.
The other Spider-Man snarled, shooting a stream of web around a pillar and swinging around to kick her side. Peter noticed that his webbing was natural unlike his lab-made web, so that means it never runs out.
Malvolia, if Peter heard her name correctly, grunted slightly to other Spider-Man's attack. Considering the enhanced strength, Peter was impressed at how she was barely affected by the blow.
"Can you help me!" he yelled at Peter. "I could use some backup!"
Peter snapped out of his head and approached Malvolia from behind shot two strings of web at her wrists. Malvolia barely flinched, instead she pulled her arms forward forcefully with a shout and launched Peter forward.
Peter barely flipped around in time to climb up another pillar and spring off it to kick Malvolia in the stomach. She finally expressed some form of pain and grunted at the blow.
The other Spider-Man did something that Peter had never seen before, he blasted Malvolia with a powerful wave of energy that looked like venom. Malvolia was weakened severely, and that left enough time for Peter and the other Spider-Man to get off the roof.
"What was that?" Peter panted.
"It was a venom blast, now hurry. She won't be out for long and I can't contain her, we need to get the power back on and figure things out."
Peter nodded and shut his mouth, swinging from building to building to the main generators that run the city.
Peter had so many questions that would probably be left unanswered.
***
"So why did you attack me?"
Peter was startled by the sudden question. A few minutes earlier the two were able to get the power up and running again without any major complications.
"Um, I've never seen anyone else who had the same abilities as me. Well, I guess better abilities than me," Peter chuckled.
"I guess. But damn, you've certainly got the better tech than me."
He marveled at Peter's suit that had a million different pieces to help him with his tasks. The two were sitting outside the gates of the power plant, resting from the exhausting battle.
The other Spider-Man surprised Peter by taking off his mask. He breathed out a sigh of relief and smiled at Peter. Peter's jaw dropped as he tried to comprehend his thought.
"I'm Miles, what's your name?"
"Miles?!"
Peter's jaw still hung open as he removed his mask as well.
"Um, hey. I think you already know me," Peter laughed.
"Yo, no way," Miles gasped. "It's you? No wonder I've never seen you around."
"Yeah, honestly I'm not even supposed to be here," Peter confessed.
Miles's brows furrowed together. "Explain."
"You seem to already have known other Spider-People before me, right?" Peter asked.
Miles nodded.
"Well if I remember the rules of dimensions correctly, after the blip and once everyone was brought back I used the time travel device and well,"
"You what?" Miles asked.
Peter sighed, "well I sort of messed with it and I intended to time jump but instead I jumped dimensions. I have no idea how but that's how I ended up here."
Miles nodded in understanding. "Well, can I see the device?"
Peter took off the fried device from his wrist and handed it to Miles. He inspected the worn out metal and shook his head.
"I have never seen anything like this before, I'm sorry I can help."
"It's fine," Peter sighed. "The one and only Tony Stark invented this anyways. Also, you knew Malvolia before today, what does she do?"
"She's someone new who showed up on my radar two month earlier. I thought she'd be a cakewalk to take care of but she's proved to be a much harder feat than I'd like. She can manipulate electricity, teleport but only when she's in danger, and she has super strength and speed," Miles explained.
Peter came to a conclusion that he couldn't go back to his own dimension anytime soon. HE was in a position where he didn't have access to a lab, or any of the parts, he didn't even know the rules or what existed in this dimension.
"I don't think I can return to my dimension anytime soon," Peter sighed. "But it's not like I have anything there to look forward to anyways."
Peter was looking for the perfect distraction and he found one right here. This was a world where all his pain and suffering never happened, and he had one hell of a problem to take care of here too. It was a blessing disguised as a nightmare.
Peter smiled as he looked off into the distance.
"Where should we begin?"
