Marriage? No- Not my brother!!

Just some wholesome lil' Alabama and lil' Mississippi-

And yes Alabama will always be protective of family no matter what. I will die on this hill.

TW: Like kinda Homophobic Alabama-

Anyway, enjoy.

(Working on accents-)

"Brother?"

"Yeah, Sippi?"

"What are you gonna do when I get married?" Asked the territory, he laid down on the warm grass. Quietly messing with his fingers. Alabama whipped his head around to look at him.

"What- What do you mean by that?!"

"Well, one day we gotta marry! What if I meet a pretty woman? What if she really likes me and I really like her?! What if we marry and there are some mini me's runnin' around... Like starting a family." Alabama scoffed. Mississippi looked at him confused.

"I'd kill 'er on the spot! I don't want no woman touchin' all on my brother like that!" The small southerner shivered at the sheer thought. "You listen to me, you my blood. And as long as I'm around ya no one is takin' ya from me." He spoke firmly. Nothing but anger in his tone. Yet his eyes seemed more filled with worry.

"Don't ya think ya going overboard?! You gotta marry too one day. You may find a nice woman, or man if you're into that kinda thin', but-"

"Firstly, gross. I ain't into men. (He says now-) Secondly. You the only blood relative I done got left! I don't wanna lose you to some weird chick in a dress." Mumbled the other. Mississippi nodded silently.

What was wrong with him getting married?!

Tennessee always talked about marrying North Carolina when he's older. Giving him gifts and constantly trying to be around him. Mississippi didn't exactly care if his lover was a man or woman. He just wanted some love...

Well...

Someone to love that wasn't family.

That would be weird-

"Ala? Why are you so against the idea of it? No one is gonna steal me away ya know."

"What a nice day!" Alabama said, grinning nervously. "We should go play-"

"Why?" Mississippi repeated. He stood up from his spot on the grass. "Why can't I get love?! Why are you so protective of me? Ya always treatin' me like ima kid. I mean... Now I kinda am, but ya can't be treatin' me like this for all my days. One day I'll be big and strong like Georgia or-or Virginia! A-and-"

"Brother!" Alabama yelled interrupting him. He got up. "It's nothin' like that. I... I just uhh... I care for ya is all. I don't want ya hurtin' or nothin'. Or even worse leavin' me behind..." He whispered, god this whole talking thing was hard. Mississippi laughed.

"I already done told ya I ain't gonna leave because I got married!! If anythin' Ima be around more! Tell ya about her. And how my kids will be! I want maybe one or two of 'em. Georgia somehow takes care of all of us. I don't think I can be that good of a father but... Ima try!" The boy said, full of pride.

"You uhhh. Remember Abby? From our old house? She lived nearby. She really liked you, she told me before we ran.  I even heard about dad wantin' y'all to get married in the future. Mostly for a good dowry since he had lotta money. Now ya still don't wanna leave and run back to him? Get ya wife or... whatever?"

Mississippi giggled and shook his head. "Nah. Abby was nice but she didn't like my thing for flowers. And she was too noisy and bossy. Tellin' me what to wear and stuff. I just wanna be with someone who likes all of me and not some of me I guess."

"Fair."

They stood silently for a while. Admiring the numerous peach trees that grew around them. Soaking in the peaceful moment.

"Boys!! Supper is ready!!" The territories heard Georgia yell from the distance.

"Shall we?" Alabama asked in a playful tone, lifting his elbow out to his brother.

"We shall. What a fine gentlemen~!" Mississippi replied, trying and failing to mimic a woman's voice. He wrapped his own arm around his brothers and laughed as they headed home.

Marriage can wait.

Brothers come first!
