"Do you want one? Because I don't know what to do with the extra." CDC asked, pushing the plate towards him, rather uncomfortably. He felt so embarrassed about it all. Did he know why? No- "We can pack it up and I'll eat it later. I'm kinda full right now." The southern state replied. He might have been lying but who cares.

He needed the weight loss anyway. "Alright. Excuse me, waiter-!" Soon another woman in your standard all-black uniform came over. The CDC asked for some to-go boxes while Mississippi stared out the window.

Why did the smartest guy he even knew ask him out? Like... There were so many other options other than him. He could have asked anyone and he chose him? What was so special about him? He was an asshole quite often. Did what he was told yeah sure. But he still would bitch about most of the things he was for.

Strange when the guy who likes and supports most of the things you don't... Wants to date you...

"Sippi? You st-still there or d-d-did I lose you?"

CDC nodded, getting out of his seat. "Wait where are you going?" Mississippi panicked. Did he not like him? What did he do wrong?!

"I already paid and had everything packed up," He motioned to the bag with their leftovers in his hand, "I actually was waiting for you. I w-w-w-wanted to walk ar-ar-around for a little or... Something. If you don't want to you don't have to!! But maybe-"

"I'd love to, also your rambling is really cute." Mississippi giggled a little, getting out of his seat and bopping the other's nose. What did such a nice man see in him? "I-I... Th-thank you."

The men exited the restaurant, their fingers intertwined as they walked down the streets of Atlanta in comfortable silence. CDC having his own silent mental breakdown because of being touched...

He wasn't touched by really anyone in years. He forgot how nice it felt, having someone you love to hold your hand and talk to you. He didn't like arguing with Mississippi for most of their date till eventually, they agreed to just change the subject away from incentives.

"Hey, uhhh... You've been staring at me for 20 minutes now. I get I'm kinda weird-looking but, are you ok?" Mississippi titled his head slightly, his voice taking the other man out of his thoughts completely. What he said angered him. The fuck did Mississippi mean 'weird-looking' he was looking at the hottest man he's ever seen.

"Who told you that?!"

"Told me what?"

The CDC's grip tightened on the smaller state. "Who told you that you were weird-looking?!" Mississippi shrugged, confused with the other's sudden outburst. "Me? What's wrong with th-"

"W-what's wrong with it is that you're a 100 percent wrong. You look amazing and you always have. Quit lying to yourself." He spat, that same tight grip getting even tighter.

"I-I... Ummm... Thanks? I don't know what to say to that." Mississippi blushed, his free hand moving to the collar of his black turtleneck. "No one's ever told me that before..."

"Well then, where were we?" CDC grinned, his hand loosened its grip only a little. "Right- OH MY LORD!! I SEE A FLOWER SHOP!! WE'RE GOING!!"

"But don't you have a ton of Flowers at home-"

"I SAID WE'RE GOING!!"

"Ok..."

CDC kept his smile, watching the state look at different fertilizers and shovels. Presumably for his own plants. The excitement in his eyes warmed his heart.

Granted he wasn't the best at gardening at all it did always look nice. "Ya know. I've always wanted to be a florist... Too bad I'm stuck as a state and too busy with that now. But if I had the time and money, I'd make my own flower shop! It'd be the best in Mississippi!!" He turned to the taller man and grinned.

"You're too cute~"

"Shut up and help me grab some of these shovels."

"Alright..."

"That will be $345.69." The man said, adjusting his flower crown. God he hated his job-

Mississippi grabbed his card only for it to be taken from his hands. "I'm paying," CDC spoke calmly, handing the man a different card. "You paid for the dinner! You shouldn't spend all of your money on me ya know. I can pay for it!" Mississippi protested.

"Too late." The taller man smiled, handing Mississippi his card back. The state mumbling faint curses, his face changing hue just a little. The two left the store with 3 bags full of gardening equipment.

"What's with that face?" Mississippi laughed a little, poking CDC's cheek. The other had the biggest grin on his face. "Nothing, I just wanted to show you something. But it's quite a long drive."

"Drive? We didn't bring a car-"

CDC reached into his pocket and took out his keys. They heard a car alarm go off right after he pressed a button. "You sly fox..." Mississippi giggled, what did he do to deserve such treatment? This was way too much for him.

"Come on. We got a car ride to get through."

"Alright weirdo."

Mississippi stepped out of the car. His eyes sealed shut, he felt rather tired too. It was so late. "I'll tell you when to open your eyes." Mississippi nodded, feeling a pair of hands grab his shoulders. "I swear if I get killed I'm haunting you."

CDC laughed, leading the state to a Hilltop. "Open them." Mississippi did as told, gasping, he was surrounded by flowers. And a beautiful night sky. "Science boy~ how sweet." Mississippi purred, taking a seat on the grass. "I tried to impress. Did it work?"

"It did." Mississippi chuckled a little, the CDC sat beside him and took his hand. Mississippi leaned his head on his shoulder, grinning.

"Wait... All of this feels kinda planned. An outback that happens to be near a flower shop with gardening equipment, then you take me to a hill surrounded by flowers."

"I-I may or may not have done a ton of research on the a-a-area so I could find the best things. And since you love flowers I figured this route would be perfect. Ye-Yeah it's kinda stupid..." His voice trailed off. Mississippi smiled, giving the other a small kiss on the cheek. "Well, no one has ever been so considerate. And I thank you, also it's adorable. Not stupid."

The taller man completely shut down for a solid minute or two.

He grabbed Mississippi and hugged him tightly. The southern state startled, slowly returned the hug.

"I... Ummm. I uhhh..." Fuck- English CDC!!! English!! What was he doing?!

"Take your time hun." Mississippi rubbed circles around the organization's back. He was a good hugger. And he loved it.

"I-I... I-I love you... So much."
