Fifteen.
"Have you guys seen (Y/n)?" Masaomi asked Mikado and Anri. It was after school, and the students of Raira were trickling out of the exits of the school.
"No, I haven't," Mikado replied. "Maybe (she's/he's/they're) ditching class?"
"No, (she/he/they) (isn't/aren't) the type who'd do that," Anri pointed out.
They saw a flash of a black hair and they knew it was Mirai. "Mirai!" Mikado called out, chasing after the pinkie. Mirai didn't hear as she kept on going. Masaomi and Anri joined in with the chase and they saw Mirai talking to the homeroom teacher and him handing her some assignments.
Once she exited the classroom, Mikado stopped her. "Mirai? What are you doing here at Raira?" He asked, panting. "And why do you have today's assignments in your hands?"
"Do you not watch the news?" She asked the trio.
"News?"
"Okay then...did (Y/n) not tell you?"
"Tell us what?"
Anri, who had pulled out her phone and pulled up Ikebukuro's webpage for news, gasped at the first article that popped up. "Mikado! Masaomi! (Y/n)'s in the hospital!"
"WHAT?!" The two boys screeched, attempting to look over Anri's shoulders to read the article.
"According to the article," Anri said, fighting over the boys in order to read more. "(Y/n) was walking home after visiting someone at Raira General Hospital and got stabbed last night by an unknown assailant. (She/He/They) (was/were) brought to the hospital as she collapsed in a pool of her blood."
"I just found out this morning from the news on the TV and texted (Y/n) if (she/he/they) wanted me to pick up her assignments," Mirai explained. "(She/He/They) (was/were) reluctant at first, but eventually gave in when I told (her/him/them) (she/he/they) had to be in the hospital for a week-HEY!"
Masaomi snatched the assignments out of Mirai's hands and bolted down to the hospital. "Masaomi!" Mikado yelled. "Where are you going?!"
He didn't reply as he kept on running to Raira General Hospital, praying that (she/he/they) was going to be okay.
*~*~*~*~*~
You woke up in a unfamiliar room. You rubbed your eyes and sat up, a searing pain burning your entire side. You clenched your teeth and gripped your injured side. Now that you were awake thanks to pain, you examined your surroundings. You were in a hospital room similar to the one Saki was in, and you were wearing a hospital gown.
You peeked underneath your gown to see your entire torso bandaged. Memories flooded into your mind of events that happened last night. You were walking through Ikebukuro when a blocked number called you. They called you and asked about Celty and asked if Anri was Slasher before stabbing you, something about Masaomi not being active and using you as a motivation to get his act together. The rest were a bunch of hazy memories.
The door knob jiggled and opened, revealing a doctor. He smiled at you. "I see you're awake from the surgery," he said. "You had some stitches on your side from the stab, but other than that you're fine."
"What happened?" You asked the doctor.
"You were stabbed by an unknown attacker last night as you were out in the streets of Ikebukuro. Someone called for an ambulance and you were taken here. The stab was deep, so we had to stitch it closed. It will unfortunately leave a scar."
"When can I leave?"
"A couple days from now, under the supervision of a adult. Do you have a parent or guardian here?"
"No, I'm all alone. I'm from (home country). My family lives there."
"Ah, in that case, you'll have to wait until your stitches heal, which should be in a week. We don't want you going home when your stitches are not healed yet and you pop one."
You nodded with understanding, but on the inside you were screaming at all the school and work you were going to miss. You didn't want to call any of your friends and let them know you were in the hospital-you didn't want them to worry. Besides, they'd probably find out about it on the news.
After the doctor gave you a little checkup to see if your stitches were okay and nothing was infected before leaving. He paused as he opened the door. "By the way, police are stopping by later to investigate the stabbing," the doctor added before leaving the room.

At noon, soft knocking was heard outside your door. "Come in!" You said, putting down the random book you found in the room.
The door opened and three officers stepped into the room. "Hello, are you (L/n) (Y/n)-san who was stabbed yesterday night?" One asked you. You nodded yes and they approached you. "We're just here to interrogate you on the recent news and see if we can figure out who's the one responsible for this."
One officer pulled out a pad of paper to take notes and the other held a camera to record the interrogation for further reference later. "Question 1: What were you doing out in Ikebukuro at that hour?"
"I was visiting someone at Raira General Hospital and was on my way home," you explained to the officer. "A blocked number called me and I picked up. They asked me a couple questions about myself and then asked about Cel-I mean, the Headless Rider and Slasher. Then, the caller appeared beside me and said something about their leader not being active and stabbed me."
"I see. Question 2: Has something like this happened to you before?"
"...Yes. Just over a month ago my friend and I were walking home from dinner and we were attacked by Slasher. Luckily, we were saved by a couple strangers who witnessed the attack."
"Interesting. Question 3: Are you part of any gangs or have any history with gangs?"
"No. I'm not in any gangs, and I'm from (home country) but I wasn't involved in any gangs there."
"Moving on. Final Question: do you remember anything about the attacker?"
You closed your eyes, trying to pick through the hazy memories for any clues leading to who attacked you. You opened your eyes. "I don't remember anything...all of it was just a haze...but, I do remember that they were wearing a yellow bandana."
"...I see," the officer stood up and the two others went to him and they walked out the door. "Thank you for answering our questions on your stabbing," he tipped his hat as they closed the door, leaving you alone again.

You were scrolling through the Dollars pages. The entire webpage was about your stabbing. Some had made a post about it and put a link to the article about it. There were many replies to it.
『 Did any of you see the news last night? A student by the name of (L/n) (Y/n) got stabbed!!! 』
『 What was the motivation? What made them a target for a stabbing? 』
『 Apparently the one who stabbed them said that their leader hasn't been active lately so they stabbed (her/him/them) as a motivation for them to be active in their gang 』
『 Well that's just a lame excuse. Were (she/he/they) part of any gangs? 』
『 None. This wasn't the first attack though. Less than a month ago, (she/he/they) and another person nearly got stabbed by Slasher! 』
『 Oh, scary! ヽ(゚Д゚)ノ 』
『 Yeah. And get this! The person who stabbed (her/him/them) was suspected to be part of the Yellow Scarves, since all (she/he/they) could remember was a yellow bandana! 』
『 Oh my god! Seriously? 』
You were grateful that there were so many people who were worried about you since you got stabbed, even though you didn't know them. Your eyes were beginning to hurt after squinting and a tiny screen for a while, so you put down your phone and dozed off.
*~*~*~*~*~
You were dozing in and out for the rest of the day, since you were exhausted from being injured. Mirai texted you at some point that if you wanted her to pick up your assignments, but you replied with no, until she pointed out that you were missing school and homework was going to pile up. You gave in after that.
You were sitting in your hospital room, enjoying the peaceful silence which was made you drowsy. As you were closing your eyes to doze off again, your room door slammed open, startling you awake. "(Y/N)!!!" A voice screamed.
You sat up, seeing Masaomi clutching your assignments. "I just heard what happened!!" He panted, stumbling over to you and placing your assignments on the drawer next to you. He grabbed your hand squeezing it for comfort. "Who did this to you?! Tell me!!"
"Masaomi calm down," you told him. "I'm fine, just need to rest here for a week. I'll be back in school in a week."
"A week?! But that's too long~!"
"Time passes quickly when you're busy. Get your mind off of me and the week will be over in a flash."
"You still didn't answer my question earlier. Who stabbed you?!"
"I don't remember...somebody in a yellow bandana."
Masaomi froze, eyes dilating as he dropped his hand, clenching his hand into fists. "Damn you..." he cursed under his breath.
"You know who did it?" You craned your neck at him.
"N-No, just cursing whoever did this to you."
He rested his forehead against yours and closed his eyes. "I'm just glad your okay...it's too bad your cute body is going to be scarred after this..." he mumbled. You blushed at the flirt before closing your eyes, enjoying the moment shared between you two.
Until you remembered your promise to Saki.
You opened your eyes just as Masaomi pulled away. "Say..." you started.
"Go ahead," Masaomi nodded. "I'm listening."
"Have you visited Saki yet? She's waiting for you to come and see her. For a year. After you're done with me, why don't you stop by her room?"
"Haha, what are you talking about? Heard the rumors about me~?"
"Masaomi, it isn't a rumor, and you should know that better than anyone."
"Oh come on! Are you jealous?"
"Not."
"Yeah you are! I can see it in your eyes! Besides, you don't have to worry your pretty little head off. She and I are history."
"No your not. She still thinks that you both are still together."
"Listen, don't worry about me. It's personal stuff I'll deal with--"
"No!" You screeched, raising your voice. Masaomi stepped back, startled. "Do you know that she's been sitting in a hospital for over a year just waiting for you to visit her?! It got so bad that Izaya had to come to me and tell me to go and see her!"
Masaomi's eyes widened. "Izaya talked to you?!" He growled. "That--"
"Listen to me!" You yelled. "I know everything about you and your past because Saki told me. I even know why she's in there. You two had an ambiguous that you both aren't sure is you're still together or not! She's a good person-she doesn't deserve this! If you can go and see me, you can go and see Saki as well!"
Masaomi went silent and you took a deep breath. "The least you can do is go to her and fix your relationship with her so there aren't any more confusions," you said.
"Yeah, I get it," Masaomi sighed, shoving his hands into his pocket. "You aren't the first who told me this. I'm actually kind of used to this." Masaomi dryly laughed before turning to leave the room.
"Masaomi--" you started.
"Later (Y/n)," he waved without looking back. "I'll drop off your missing assignments for the rest of the week."
As he shut the door to your room, you couldn't help but have a sickening feeling that you just ruined the relationship between the two of you.
