Chapter 6. Walking Back From 'Training'.

"Just... remind me what it was like when you too were friends. I can barely remember!" TenTen suggested, you shrugged. "Well I guess I can tell you a short story... here's how it started."

"Ah, Neji! Lemme play with your hair, pretty please?" I begged my best friend, Neji, who shook his head 'no' multiple times. "No! Last time I couldn't get my braids out!" Neji explained and backed away from me. I walked closer and closer to him. Neji backed into a wall and like that, I had cornered him!

"Ha! Now you have to let me!" I said and reached out for his long strands of hair. Neji stopped my hand, holding it slightly. "Please, don't play with my hair. It really embarrasses me." Neji asked. I stopped what I was doing. "I'm sorry Neji. I didn't really think first..." I apologized and hugged him. He squeezed my hand, which he was still holding.

"It's alright, (Nickname)! Maybe I'll be more comfortable in a few years, like, when I'm around sixteen!" Neji smiled.

"Oh my god," TenTen gasped and grabbed onto your shoulders. "Neji was so innocent back then..!"

Soon enough you were at your house. TenTen waved goodbye then left towards her house.

Walking in your mother and father looked at you, grinning slyly. "Welcome home, dearie." Your mother cooed, wiggling her eyebrows. "How's daddy's little girl.?!" Your father asked through gritted teeth. Your mother elbowed him in the ribs.

You eyed your parents suspiciously, especially your dad. "Good..." you replied and sat as far as you could from them. "Someone dropped by not to long before you arrived." Your parents snickered. Your dad handed you an envelope, addressed to you.

"Open it." Your mother squealed, clinging to her husbands arm. "Yeah," Your father wrapped an arm around her. "Open. It." He stated, he knew who it was.

You rolled your eyes an ripped open the light packaging.

"(Y/N), by the time you reading this, well, you'll be reading this. I just wanted to remind you that you and I have a special something to finish. I look forward to it! From, Neji."

You dropped that note. 'Holy shit, (Y/N). You just read a note from a boy out loud. In front of your parents. Jesus!' You mentally screamed, looking up at your parents expressions.

"(Y/N), sweetheart, is this OUR Neji? Or another." Your mother questioned, scooting away from your father even more, even though you were nowhere near him. "That one. The old friend Neji." You responded, averting eye contact from your dad.

"Interesting..." Your father had shut down.

But, even though your father was now broken, you continued on with your night.
